They will get harassed. if they join a party whos leader has it turned on, and they dont. guess what, the harassment starts. If 1 person is advertising for a run and a party of 2 or 3 join and demand a gear check and if that person doesnt want to, Toddles.
Having this solves nothing and does nothing for the game.
No thank you. Pinging gear is quick enough already. Takes barely any time to shift click all the gear in your inventory. would it be a little faster? maybe.But its not needed.
That’s not all that different from the way things are right now. You have your zerks only ping gear or kick groups, and you have your all are welcome groups. People who don’t like one type will join the other type. Having this feature won’t do anything to affect that.
It’s more complex than that though, they’d have to build an entire ‘inspect’ ui for looking at other players.
I can’t imagine it’ll be too hard to implement… they already have something similar for previewing dyes and armor.
So I know there’s people on both sides of the fence about implementing such a feature for good reasons. I’m not sure if this has been suggested before but:
Why not have a “inspect gear” checkbox?
If you have it toggled on then you can inspect other people’s gear if they have it toggled on. Other people who have it toggled on can also inspect your gear.
If you have it toggled off then no one can inspect your gear, and you can’t inspect other people’s gear.
This way people who care about gear have a better way of checking than pinging, and people who don’t won’t get harassed for their gear.
Thoughts?
So to sum things up:
People are divided about GW2 having raids.
Most people want more challenging content.
Most people don’t want the elitism and grind that goes with a traditional raid’s gear treadmill.
So make raids (or whatever you want to call it) with GW2 style rewards. Problem solved?

What do you think about using superior runes of the ranger in PvE meta builds? It seems like a strictly superior choice than flame legion (since the extra burning doesn’t really mean much) and possibly superior choice to scholar depending on how long you can sustain the 90% hp requirement. Why don’t more people use them?
It’s something Anet heavily discourages, but it’s not (at the time of writing) against any rules or a bannable offense.

I won’t report someone for LFG abuse if they decide to use it to trade.
From the red post, it seems that selling items on the LFG tool is not a bannable offense, just something they discourage (for reasons I can understand). If someone decides it’s a good idea to make 100 more gold with a chance of getting scammed, it’s their judgment call – risk vs reward and all that.
Also, what does the “group” part of LFG mean exactly to warrant a report for LFG abuse?
Person A is looking for a group of people to do dungeons with.
Person B is looking for someone to taxi him to a certain instance, or is looking to taxi a group of people to his instance.
Person C is looking for a group of people to join his guild.
Person D is looking for a group of people to sell dungeon runs / JP portals to.
Person E is a new player and is looking for a group of people to teach him the ropes or some mechanic.
Person F is looking for a group of potential buyers / sellers of a certain item.
Person G is just looking for a group to chat with.
What determines which of the individuals above, who are all looking for groups for different purposes, are abusing the system?
It’ll be nice to have a “general” section in the LFG tool to accommodate some of the things I described above.

I guess what I’m wondering specifically is, since a lot of the components needed for ascended weapons can be crafted at 450, won’t it be a wasteful to level up to 500 first and then craft all the ascended stuff? I was thinking maybe follow the guide to 450, craft the ascended stuff, then finish up the last few levels. Thoughts?
Is there a guide that focuses on the cheapest way to level weaponsmithing to 500? All the guides I’ve seen are “buy X mats from the TP” and seem to focus on the fastest time to 500, at the expense of ~150 gold. What’s the cheapest way to get to 500, considering I will need to craft the ascended components that’s required anyway?
I’ve salvaged 6-7 exotics (all level 80) with black lion salvage kits and have not gotten a single one. I’ve read that they should drop at a rate of around 0.5 per exotic, that’s with master salvage kits also. Is there something I’m not aware of or am I just getting really unlucky?
This is based on the altruistic healing build, with a bunch of trait points shaved off the other lines for 20 into zeal (the reworked zeal line is a lot better than before, imo). Through the shouts and honor lv5 I think I still get enough boons to make altruistic healing useful, plus radiance lv15 + zeal lv10 pretty much ensures permaburn on at least 1 enemy (and the 10% damage that goes with it). Zealous blade + altruistic healing gives me tons of sustain which offsets my lack of vitality somewhat.

I agree… have a special equip slot for them just like weapons and armor. Also, they shouldn’t automatically get toggled off whenever you port somewhere.
Pretty much everything that’s soulbound right now should be account bound or not bound at all, imo.

The Witcher 2 had nudity and there’s nothing wrong with it.
Level 80 craftable exotics are now about 2x the price they were a while ago. Anyone know a reason behind this or whether or not they’ll come back down again?
So pretty much this build would focus on PvE farming, with an emphasis on damage but also not neglecting survivability. I’m thinking the most optimal gear set would be the soldier’s, but that takes too long to get so I’m considering the valkyrie and knight sets.
As far as traits go, zeal and honor are nice, right?

Anyone able to find the Soldier’s set anywhere (the one with power, vitality, and toughness)
Base HP increased from 10,805 to 12,945 (to compare, mesmers have 15,082 and necros have 18,372 base HP)
The trait Internal Fire is now moved to Grandmaster, and provides 30% additional damage while attuned to fire rather than 10%
Staff Air auto attack now hits up to 5 targets instead of 3 because chain lightning is awesome.
Balanced?

Getting first set of exotics... what stats should I focus on?

So I’m gonna reach level 80 soon, and I’ve been trying to decide which exotic set to plop my gold down for. What stats should I focus on? This is for mainly PvE with some WvW.
Right now I have the valkyrie set stat spread – sort of going for a tanky direct damage build w/ some precision. I’m considering the carrion, knight, valkyrie, and soldier (where can I find this, by the way?) sets. But then when you take into consideration runes, sigils, and traits it just gets really confusing. Any suggestions? What are you guys running on your eles?
