raid wings
10/10
I am sorry, I did not realize that every single team that ever completed the raid was comprised entirely of members that 100% matched meta specs with meta play. My misunderstanding. I thought the raids were more diverse but, clearly, I was wrong. Nobody who has ever completed raids has done so without a meta build, as you are clear to announce. Thank you for helping me understand this.
Literally no one is saying raids can only be completed with meta gear.
People are saying that if you have meta gear, it’s significantly easier to get into a good raiding guild because it’s what they’re familiar with and, from a roles perspective, easier to integrate you into a group.
Regarding end game content:
Dungeons got their rewards nerfed and people don’t run them regularly for gold anymore.
Fractals – with the release of raids, no one really cares what class you play in fractals.
Raids – There’s not really a solid meta for them yet, since they just came out. Most classes are welcomed but herald/chronomancer/druid/condi engineer are the most popular right now I think.
Open world – All classes are totally fine. If you want to faceroll through the somewhat harder HoT zones, ranger / reaper / warrior are nice choices.

If you want to maximize gold gain:
- Salvage rares with master salvage kit if their TP price is less than the price of an ecto (~33s)
- Salvage exotics if they’re less than around 1 gold (master salvage kit)
- TP other exotics
- Salvage exotics with valuable runes / sigils (Force, Strength, Air, etc.)
If you want to just get rid of stuff:
- Salvage rares
- Salvage exotics if they’re less than around 1 gold
- TP other exotics
You always get 1
+1 for revenant
Great DPS, tons of survivability in zerkers, gives out tons of boons, high demand in raids.
Also condi engineer and cavalier tank reaper are pretty great.
Seems like the DPS dungeon build is the standard for raids since revs have more than enough innate tankiness to not die vs. bosses.
Give it some time. When the game came out people thought dungeons were impossible too.
If there are more than 4 people nearby (say in a raid situation), when you give boons to the people around you, does it prioritize people who don’t have them first? For example, if someone nearby has 25 stacks of might (and lots more who don’t) and I do something that gives might to nearby allies, is there a chance it’ll be applied to that person?
I’m not trying to attack anyone for their preferences but I’m honestly surprised there’s so many who don’t want to play with other people. I’m genuinely curious, what draws you to MMOs? There’s so many good RPGs out right now that offer an amazing single player experience (Witcher 3, Skyrim, FO4, Dragon Age, etc.)
It’s not that we don’t like playing with other people, on the contrary I love playing with others. It’s the fact that we don’t like organized grouping. I love group events, trading, talking with others, and generally playing in a game where others are playing with me. What we don’t like is depending on others or (often even worse) having others depending on you. Rather than a carefree, enjoyable, go-at-your-own-pace adventure you are now in a stressful go-go strike team of people who are all there to get loot and get out and you better hold your own or you’re getting kicked. I understand that that is a pleasurable experience to some but certainly you can understand how it might not be pleasurable to others.
Ah, thanks for the clarification.

As an average casual player, raids were the most fun I’ve had since GW2 launched.
Condi Engi
Healer Druid
Zerker Herald
The entire purpose of the item is to fill the collection. All the other collection items are also around 10s-20s. It’s not meant to be a source of money.
From my experience (only beat Vale Guardian so far), if your team is good enough to survive the mechanics, the enrage timer shouldn’t even be an issue. Adding a few minutes to the timer doesn’t really make it any different or less challenging.
The thing is, right now the “meta” for raids have clearly defined roles. If you run celestials, you won’t be doing as much damage as zerkers, have as much survivability as a tank set, or heal as much as clerics.
It’s not strictly necessary in the sense that you won’t have enough numbers to complete the raid, but you probably want ascended.
Imagine doing Arah naked. Is it possible? Sure. Is it doable for people that have an OK to decent grasp on the mechanics? Probably. Does having fully geared characters make it easier? Definitely.
OP, I think it’s highly disingenuous of you to post this when the exact same guild in your screenshot offer runs solely for teaching purposes which anybody can join.
You need like 2 balls of dark energy to craft everything up to Unbound. Where are you getting these ridiculous numbers from?
Also, salvaging weapons and armor is a guaranteed 100% drop rate.
As far as monetary costs go, the precursor is completely fair.
1. Add certain events that will wipe you/raid no matter what gear you have while leaving the rest of damage sources be more forgiving for more tanky players.
2. Remove enrage timers.
Uh what?
Say the Vale Guardian didn’t have enrage timers. What prevents a group from using full nomads, stacking in a corner, and spamming heals while ignoring all the mechanics for that fight?
All you have to do is build a time machine and go back a few months!
One faster way to get gold might be spending time outside the game and making money in real life.
After you have made enough money outside the game, spend $600-$700 buy gems and converting them to gold to buy a legendary from the trading post.

For $700 on a minimum pay of $7.25 requires a little less than 100 hours of work which is pretty fast to get 4455 gold in about 100 hours assuming 12.57 gold per 100 gem exchange rate.
o_o
Do people actually spend hundreds of dollars on a shiny video game skin?
How will they implement the part where if you die in game you die in real life?
I don’t think any ascetics are playing GW2…
Agreed about the zoom though.

No, it is just they fixed all the other infinitely respawning enemies but missed the ones in CoF. It has to be an oversight, therefore the farm is an exploit.
What you consider or don’t consider an exploit is irrelevant. Anet thinks it’s fine, so it’s fine.
Even cof1 farm was more interesting due to you dont fight only one enemy all day long.
Technically it’s two enemies.
Snipers are completely fine. They require active defense rather than something that can be blatantly ignored by putting on defensive gear. If anything we need more mobs like them.
Agreed 100%. Also, please make it show the name of the fractal.
When I play my herald in the open world I have the facet that gives swiftness to all allies near me on 100% of the time.
Do you hate me yet?
Are you running the 64 bit client?
Are you using the 64 bit client?
As for the highest rank mob a rev can solo, well there’s this…
Same problem here.
What’s the most cost effective way of getting dark energy? WvW trinkets? Crafting ascended weapons?
Also, when you salvage weapons, do you always get 1 dark energy and your inscription back?

Just put it where the gw2.dat file is. If you put it anywhere else and try to run it, it’ll attempt to download the entire dat file from scratch.
For Devastation adept traits, how much better DPS is Vicious Lacerations over Ferocious Strikes?
Why do we care if you buy it or not?
Auric Basin
Dragon’s Stand
Tangled Depths
Verdant Brink
For PvE go zerkers until raids are released. Revenants have more than enough dodges and innate tankiness to survive in the new zones even with glass cannon builds.
So why doesn’t this come with a glider skin again?
To be honest I’m surprised it’s not already implemented. It’s pretty weird to be walking around with your fractal wings, and as soon as you start gliding, they disappear and are replaced with a wooden glider or feathers or what have you.
Get on it devs.
Reasons:
- It’s wing-shaped and big enough
- Other similarly sized wings (bat wings and feather wings) have them
- It’s a legendary item for god’s sake
For max DPS I’d go with a zerker staff build with Fire/Air/Tempest.
Arcane wave / glyph of storms / signet of fire for utilities
Overload air for trash mobs and overload fire between lava font / meteor shower spam for everything else.
devastation / invocation / herald, take all the damage enhancing traits
Sword + axe / Hammer
Can we add some sort of effect to them? Right now the hammer AA and sword AA chain (especially the 1st hit) are barely visible.
