Hi all, I’m coming from world of Warcraft, I’m kind of burnt out because with every patch they always raise the maximum gear; thus making it tedious to farm the max level gear over and over again. I heard that guildwars 2 is always going to be level 80 maximum and all gear are the same balanced with an exception of collection transmog skins.
Is this true?
Yes it is true, there is no WoW style gear farm here at all. Gear is for life once you have it.
Other people in this thread probably don’t know how the gear in WoW works and give way too complex answers.
For the ones who do not know; WoW style gear farm means that there is always new gear tier introduced every 6 months or so that has like double stats compared to the previous one and makes everything old totally obsolete. There is no such thing here.
Sorry to disappoint you, but no. Every character that has 4 years and 364 days will be permanently deleted and you have to start over again. A fifth birthday is not allowed!
That’s fine. I just deleted 7 of 9 classes (including the thief I made the day the servers went live) most of whom already got their 4th birthday stuff so I could “fix” random things I didn’t like about them.
It’s one way to artificially create more content to do.
Cap should really be raised again. It can’t be just a spec thing, because for example new Season 3 maps are much heavier than 2000 decoration capped hall.
Group or squad up and join to other map instances, just like it works with every other group activity in the game. Should not be a problem since you say that they’re friends so you already even know them and know they are in different instance.
I beg to differ (to a small extent) when you ask a person rather than looking for a video.
Of course, in techncial terms, it will amount to the same thing, but when escorted by a player there’s a sense of immersive rightfulness. As if you didn’t cheat. Just like in the real world you would ask a person for advice and they’d show you. I mean, from an immersive point of view, looking up a guide or getting help ingame by someone else feels truly different to me..

There indeed is a difference, and for me it’s the opposite. I much prefer reading guides instead of bothering someone and making them to waste their time to help me with something I could find out easily on my own from a guide. Same in real, I never ask help from anyone if I can find something out myself.
I don’t like to watch videos so I don’t use youtube, but I do read dulfy’s guides and pictures for things like tricky achievements and scavenging hunt collections.
Would be very handy for maps like these season 3 maps are where you need certain events for achievements / collections. Now it’s kinda required to camp the event locations for unknown time until it happens to start.
I hope they don’t add this ever. In fact they should remove the whole thing from the game files to make these threads appear less frequently.
Whole schoolgirl fetish is kinda disturbing and in my opinion does not have a place in this game. Asian games are more suitable for that kind of stuff. It’s more tolerated in those.
Maybe try suggesting some other type of children’s clothes that don’t have the same “bad reputation” as this if you want to dress your characters as kids. Never seen that suggestion before so it would be fresh too.
Fleeing is just annoying in a way as it works now. Mobs usually just flee for a while and then come back to you or just keep you in combat forever if you’re not chasing and finishing them off.
I wouldn’t mind fleeing if they actually would keep on fleeing and get out of combat as soon as they flee.
At least some missions you can complete. 1 target bounties, 5 target treks and all races are doable for you.
Guild hall indeed is bigger problem. Guess you could ask/hire some people to help you to claim one. People have been doing it with just one full group.
I always think them belonging to the civilizations that were around before the previous dragon awakening cycle, 10.000 years ago when dragons destroyed them.
Think of Protean ruins and the Reapers if familiar with Mass Effect story.
I’d like the fish replaced by a drowning villager from super adventure box. Occasionally (every second) it would play that horrid “miaaaaaaaoow!” sound followed by a sort of distressed 8 bit gurgling.
The fact that the flopping fish mini would disturb some ppl highlights how far we as a species have divorced ourselves from the natural world. And that is alarming but I don’t think changing the mini is a solution. I’d say leave it as is . . .
More alarming is that some people seem to find it funny. People knowing and respecting the nature do not laugh at suffering animals.
Tell that to those dog breeds who have been bred to have skulls that are too small for their brains so that their eyes bulge out “cutely”. They suffer all their lives.

Because pokemon is like 20y old.. 20 years ago ppl knew how to laugh at jokes, now this new generation takes everything serious..
Anet makes a joke, everyone has to find something that is disturbing and complain.
Is not the first time ppl come and complain about things that are funny but they make it look dark and cruel.

Renamed the Execute the Executioner achievement to Perfect Execution. This achievement now requires players to complete either the “Defeat the White Mantle and save the villager from burning event” or the “Escort the quaggan refugees to their destinations” event in order to obtain it.
