-You don’t need to have same craft profession on multiple characters. It does not give you any benefit.
-1 crafter can craft for your other chacters, for example 1 tailor can make tailor stuff for all your other characters too, all stuff is accound bound.
-Shared CD on some things is there for a reason.
I don’t really participate much in /map chats, but I always do read it and my block finger is quite quick when someone is being an kitten, rude, swears too much or is too whiny about things that are nothing to whine about and have to say that majority of my block list is indeed people between 20-30k AP.. if not counting gold sellers of course.
Dunno what that tells, probably nothing, but it is a statistic of some sort. Even tho I’m in that AP range myself too, I still tend to avoid other people within it Maybe I’m guilty myself too but I really try not to be hostile to anyone except if they’re hostile themselves.
I’m pure PvE player, played since launch pretty much every day and I never raid or PvP so they are not required in any way if you don’t feel like it
Hehe don’t worry, I doubt you will see these things for long. I too got one and noticed that it is very disturbing even for the users themselves. The long fire tail kinda fills the screen and makes it hard to actually see anything. Had to stop using it quickly after trying it and made a conclusion that it’s more like a situational joke thing than a normal every day glider. For that purpose it’s fine as it is.
That is how it always is with MMOs. Every class is overpowered except the one you’re playing.
It just is like that with laptops. No one knows why. Your FPS is fine.
Nah, worked hard for all my infusions, the point is to showoff what you worked for, not to have it hidden to 80% of the player base that would kill the purpose of purchaseing cosmetic auras. Turning animations to low and a fair enough setting to turn down auras. No further setting needed
You understood it wrong. We’re not asking toggle to turn it off from others, but just from ourselves. Your Aurora would shine to everyone just as brightly. Only mine would be hidden to me and everyone else.
Yes please, toggle would be awesome! The effect is the only reason I am not using it. I do not like any effects that have 100% uptime. Weapons are fine since they turn off when not wielded.
I use them pretty much only when I do fractals, so that’s about once a year.
You do know that if they create new accounts they cant email or whisper you unless they are buying the game every time.
I cant see how a person would be willing to shell out 30 bucks just to keep trying to talk to someone.
This. Keep on blocking, it’s unlikely that the stalker will use thousands and thousands of dollars just for new accounts. Not impossible of course, but that’s pretty much all you can do at the moment.
Snowy maps are my favorite! Feels the most like home
It probably took you longer to make that post than listen to the dialog of one story mission needed to unlock each map.
It may happen or maybe not. No way to know :P
GW1 had two diffulty settings, Normal Mode and Hard Mode.
This was possible becos every map was an instance.Since (most) Story missions are also an instance, an idea is to make a Normal and Hard Mode (for instanced Story parts).
Players who like more challenge can do the Hard Mode version then.
There already are two modes on SOME story instances. After completing the instance in normal mode, the challenge mote things come available that allow you to start hard mode of that fight. System is rare so far, but I suppose they could add these to more fights.
If something feels too difficult, it’s not necessarily because it’s too hard or unfair, it also might be a sign that you need to look at your build and gear and pay attention to what your skills do.
Tune the charater a bit, practice the fight a couple of times, and suddenly it might become less hard, and might even feel like something when you finally win.
Well it does suggest drug use which probably is breaking naming rules
“Having looked at how flying has played out in the old world in the last couple of expansions, we realized that while we were doing it out of this ingrained habit after we introduced flying in The Burning Crusade, it actually detracted from gameplay in a whole lot of ways,” Hazzikostas said. “While there was certainly convenience in being able to completely explore the world in three dimensions, that also came at the expense of gameplay like targeted exploration, like trying to figure out what’s in that cave on top of a hill and how do I get up there.”
Originally, Blizzard took out flying in Warlords of Draenor as an experiment, and Hazzikostas says he would have bet “slightly better than even money at the time” that they were going to bring it back eventually. But as they played the expansion and watched others play it, they discovered that they liked the game better without flying.
“The world feels larger, feels more dangerous,” he says. “There’s more room for exploration, for secrets, for discovery and overall immersion in the world. At this point, we feel that outdoor gameplay in World of Warcraft is ultimately better without flying. We’re not going to be reintroducing the ability to fly in Draenor, and that’s kind of where we’re at going forward.”
IMO everything here could be applied to mounts in general, not only flying ones.
And to be honest, WOW is the apex of the generic, repetitive, rigid, shallow and toxic MMORPG. For me, is the best of the worst. Anything that makes GW2 closer to that monolithic brainwasher of eternal grind is a mistake.
That is very true, but unfortunatelly that is oh so very succesful pattern so it’s hard for devs of other games to resist it. :/
I’m pretty sure flying mounts are coming. They have been sneakily adding the mechanics for them in game already.
First we got gliding which isn’t THAT far from flying mounts, especially in maps like Bloodfen and that one reliquary in Siren’s Landing where the mount glides up. Now comes the mounts with their own movement systems.
Next logical step is gliding on a mount. Then, places where the gliding mount glides upwards, or is enough updrafts. After that, some years, some more masteries, slowly introducing more new mechanics, and we have flying mounts.
Before BL chest change, all tradeable nodes had a possiiblity to drop from the chests at all times, but now after the change it’s only two nodes at a time and they change every time the loot in chests changes.
This was something like a year ago and Iron node has not been in loot rotation even once after the change so the supply has ran out. It might return when the loot next time changes, or it might be seen next time 3 years from now. It seems to be all RNG since there has been two same nodes twice in a row too.
I am waiting for this node too, it’s the only one I miss. :P
Because I like the game and want to keep on playing it!
And now to wait for all the “I got a precursor during the demo” woes. ;3
Yeah it’s interesting how those great drops always happens in demos or just before rollbacks
I’d say that everything except raids and high level fractals are very casual stuff. You can do anything else very casually at your own pace and just as much as you like and how you want to do it.
I still consider myself casual even after 10.000 or something hours because I do not do instanced group content. I spend my time in outworld and stories when ever new one comes.
I do what ever I want to do, when ever I want to do it. I use the kind of builds I like to use and I have fun with, because I am free to do so since I don’t do group stuff. Everything in the world is open to me, just waiting for me to do it, except raids and high level fractals.
GW2 is extremely casual friendly and amazing MMO for soloer.
I think you’re confusing challenging with annoying.
When you open the map and there is a huge road that leads to where you want to go, you follow the road avoiding hordes of enemies that constatly hit you slowing you down, and then you discover that the road is not right but instead it’s leading you toward a dead-end with even more enemies..that’s not challenging, that’s bad design and it’s annoying.
When you have to do a daily adventure and it takes 15 mins to get there because the map it’s a mess, there are only few WPs and you can’t use them because there is a fight that’s prevent you to teleport there..that’s not challenging, that’s bad design and it’s annoying.
When you finally get to the adventure start point and you can’t play the adventure because there is currenntly a huge and long event near that part of the map..yeah you guessed.
When you complete the adventure, get a silver score but find yourself inside a room full of enemies that charge you all at once and one-shot you..seriously wtf? Why the game doesn’t teleport you to the beginning or outside instead of leaving you there and get smashed?
All the above happended to me this morning while I was doing a daily and the beetle adventure. Was it challenging? Nope. Was it annoying? Hell yes..I completed the daily and log out because I was kittened.
I think OP had a similar experience..I wasn’t doing a raid, or pvp or high level fractals or whatever, I was doing a simple daily and some exploration and while I’m doing that, I’d like to relax and not be annoyed and kittened off by everything there is on my way.
There’s about 1 minute walk from the frog city waypoint (never contested) to the beetle adventure and it does not have any enemies on the way. Also once you’re finished, click retry and it does indeed teleport you back to beginning. Hope this helps next time you need to do it.
In Warhammer Online I had color-coded vertical hp bars with a class icons on top so I could keep an overview even if my entire group stacked on a hostile target.
White bars for group members, green for friendly and red for hostile targets. I happened to play supporter for a dwarven melee gang.
Take a look and tell me that’s not beautifully clear. If only I could have that in GW2…
Have to say that this is one of the most horrifying UI layouts I have ever seen
I want to ride a moose
Nothing fancy, just a regular brown moose
(edited by Ameepa.6793)
I want moose head!
I bet you click “deposit all”. They are stored in material vault. Heve to be in inventory to use.
Either be careful not to deposit them or keep them in invisible bag until you’re done.
Since we’re stuck with mounts, I want my Charr mount for my Asura.
Other way around would be even better, a charr riding an asura
Definitely should not be allowed in major cities, or at least where the services (bank, TP, crafting, etc) are, and in the special lounges. Cannot even see anything in these places if they are just full of mounts.
But I like the UI as it is :/
No need for any special unlocks.
“The other tabs consist of two currency containers and three other items of the lists which change every day.”
Wvw supplies do appear sometimes, just wait and check the tabs every day.
Loads of new stuff to play for the next 2 years for only 30 Euros, sounds good to me!
How dare they add new maps to the game!
When I play, I usually play more than 20 minutes at a time so doing one story instance after major concent patch isn’t a problem for me. I kinda like the system. Feels nicer than just immediately going to a new map without a clue what’s even supposed to happen there.
Yes it is 6 per option. Just took 18 out of it from the ascended mat options, didn’t take unbound magics. It even says when buying that “you can buy 6 of this item per day” on every option.
The thing you get acts kinda like all four of them combined. It just uses vendor interface.
Yes please so I can get rid of the effect once I have it
In my opinion legendaries and other high value things should always have been account bound.
This JP requires just too much “blind jumps” where you can’t even see (or even know) where you need to go unless you try it (or watch a video). That’s not even “puzzling” (unless you consider just brute forcing every possible combination “solving a puzzle”, I guess). It’s also the only reason this thing is “hard”.
It’s just a terrible JP and “Clusterkitten of Trial and Error” would have been a way better name than “Chalice of Tears” (better to rename “Not So Secret” to that).
Yeah I did it too twice yesterday, first for the tokens and second time for the collection and have to agree with this. Like someone else in these forums said too, it feels more like trying to glitch yourself out of the map than a jump puzzle.
I love jump puzzles as long as they don’t have blind jumps without any kind of clue where to go next or if they have artificial difficulty like this one has in form of slippery rocks where that one pixel you can stand on feels more like a glitch than planned thing.
2k is fine, but I would pay 3k if it did not have aura. I hate auras.
Well, at least the value of a ticket has not halved yet. One ticket has been worth about 40g lately and these weapons seem to be still priced around ~100g each. So far the value of a ticket is stable.
It remains to be seen of course how low their price falls before next set comes.
Oh crap, I had no idea it had some effect. Have to think now if I even make it. I really wish it would not have any effects or at least if I could hide it.
(edited by Ameepa.6793)
I like the thing, got it immediately! I like everything I can add to my home instance. More stuff please!
I’ll try again… I did an event with my niece standing next to me and she didn’t get any experience. Maybe she didn’t tag anything… hard to say, she’s only 8.
Yep, have to get credit from at least one kill or interact with one object.
Farming mobs is very ineffective way to level anyway. Go around finding events to do. Your brother has to only do some one thing during the whole event to get credit for it, like kill one mob or interact with one object.
But yeah you do not get credit from kills in this game if you do not tag the mobs, that’s just something you have to keep in mind and plan the stuff you do around it.
Events and personal story indeed are the main things to do without tagging stuff.
And the question is which system has the most advantages.
The current system. It’s the simplest and works the best.
Never fix something that isn’t broken.
There are enough solo points in HoT zones to max your elite spec especially if you already have at least some from the old world too.
Check for example from these Dulfy’s guides which are suitable:

All alt lives matter! Even if you don’t play them, they still give birthday presents, acts as the most cost effective storage space and can be parked for example at material nodes.
