Combine a ghostly doubloon + copper doubloons + elonian wine + an eldrich scroll and there ya go! That’s the secret.

I had already guessed it has something to do with a doubloon since the only thing copper was the copper doubloon. It couldn’t be a merchant because merchants rarely ever sell items like the teleport gun in timberline falls.
Second it took all his gold, doesn’t necessarily mean it was by TP which left me to believe it was a karma merchant since I know very few normal merchant vendors who take coin use gold as an increment. The other thing I knew was “ghostly” which had to be ghostly doubloon and is the only item in the game with it in it’s name. The copper part of adding no additional information was pretty much a give away that cemented the idea.
When I put the mystic forge stone in my inventory and the doubloon into the forge it gave no grey.
Now I’m thinking of recipes that use doubloons and what they use. So the next item up from a green is a rare. If by throwing these items into the forge it will go up to the next tier.
So. What other recipes use doubloons?

And Orichalcum…..It’s maybe a recipe this is creating or an actual item? Speculations. At the forge trying different combinations~
The Ghostly doubloon is an accessory. It will go in the forge with other accessories (and other trinkets too? can’t remember how that works). There is nothing new about this. A mystic forge stone can act as an accessory in this instance. You’ll notice if you buy the Frog in a Jar item from the same merchant, it can be put into the forge with the doubloon – because they’re both accessories.
As said above, that’s not to say rule it out, but remember it works just like any other piece of gear.
Yeah the Ghostly Doubloon can be thrown in with other accessories.
I like the Gift of Ascalon line of thought. I don’t like the idea of buying it just to find out, though :p
edit 3 (in story form): Lemark wasn’t much of a haggler. the merchant had taken almost every copper he owned, but it was worth it. He was positive this time, no more fakes, no more copies, forgeries or lies, this was it. He could feel it, sinister…ghostly, it felt weird to hold, but he didn’t care, his journey was one quarter complete.

No worries, the thread I linked was my own thread with many others suggesting the same (including JS) but I don’t think any of them have actually tried it, because it doesn’t work like that now.
It must still be doable though, as my thread and this thread suggests, but only before the TP has loaded properly.
I just double checked, and I was right the first time – if you try to list something lower than the highest “Buy Order” listing, the sale price defaults to that price. So even if you tried to list it for 3s, it would have “sold instantly” at the highest buy order price, which is around 40s.
I don’t think that’s true. If you list for 3s, then your items will sell to the person with the highest offer at the price you offer, i.e. 3s. (It’s the “punishment” without trial for people trying to evade the listing fees and sales taxes.)
No, that is how it works. Lots of people don’t seem to think it works that way, but if you actually… try it, you will see that it does. Try to list a BL chest for 3 copper and see what happens.
Unless you sell quickly before the TP has loaded anyway, apparently.

Unfortunately it’s possible (only when you try to sell really fast apparently – otherwise it is not despite what others in my thread said) that they will actually sell for 3s each if you managed to list them as such.

As I’ve said a few times, I cannot see a way to do this without it defaulting to the highest bidder price.
Item A has a highest bid of 10g from player A.
Player B sells Item A for 1g directly.
Player B pays 5s listing fee and receives 90s in his pick up tab.
Player A gets Item A in the pick up tab and 9g, which is a refund from the gold he deposited when he posted his 10g bid.

But have you actually tried to do this on a lower priced item? It does not work like that.
It will not allow you to sell for anything less than the highest bidder price – it defaults to that price.
I accidentally did this the other day. It happens if you hit ‘sell’ on an item before the TP loads the price data.
That is, in my case, I was selling a black lion chest, I right clicked it in inventory to sell, and hit sell on the TP interface before it had finished loading. It took my chest and sold it for 2c.
Once the price data finishes loading it behaves as you describe. Take it as a warning not to jump the gun (or, for A.Net, to decide if they want to fix this behavior).
Okay, this makes sense. So it’s something that can only be circumvented by selling it before the TP has loaded properly.
Let’s say someone has final rest. If they put it up to sell for 1 gold, they get 1 gold. The highest buyer pays 1g to him and received the rest of his buy order back. This person sold the item for 2c, so you receive the item plus your buy order – 2c.
I understand how I’ve received the money I did, but I’m still a bit confused about what the seller has received though. When I try to replicate this as the seller, I get all the money as if I had sold it to the highest bidder for that price?
Eg. I try to sell a black lion chest for 3 copper. The highest bid is 30 copper. I received 27 copper (after exchange fees). I’m struggling to understand how this trade circumvented automatically selling for the highest bidder price since the patch.
Isn’t it impossible to try and sell an item for a price lower than the highest bidder now? This only happened yesterday.
I feel like I must be missing something obvious!

That makes sense Behellagh however when I tried to do a similar thing (with an item worth less of course) I received a message saying I could only sell to the highest bidder. The minimum price changes, but the actual sell price and the posting fee match the highest bidder. When I sold it, I received the correct amount as if I had sold to the highest bidder.
So bearing in mind this happened just a few hours ago I’m not sure if that explains it.

I feel like I’ve inadvertently scammed some poor kitten. I suppose the error could be on the TP end though and that we both received the gold?
As far as I’m aware, it’s impossible to sell an item for less than the current highest bid on that item. You can set a minimum price, but if the minimum is lower than the current highest bid then it will just sell to the highest bid anyway.
The first picture has two transactions highlighted, both the same item part of the same order. The second picture is the current list of buy orders for this item. I had 3 orders in for 1.4210g, I received one of the items, and I also received 1.4208g with it!
I would love to know what the seller received…
Oh right, I remember that now. So if it is Swiss style, then the next match up in Silver and Bronze leagues will be based on how everyone finished this week. So all first place finishers will matchup, all second place will matchup as well as all third place?
Week 3 will then have the possibility of playing against a server that we met in week 1 or 2 right?
It is swiss style, that is correct. Certainly worlds might get matched up against one another more than once, but the nature of the matchmaking is going to minimize that, especially in conjunction with the 4 week timeframe.
Unless you guys have put some extra constraints in, entire matchups are just going to repeat themselves.

YB SBI NSP (1st 2nd 3rd)
DB IOJ HOD (1st 2nd 3rd)
CD DR BP (1st 2nd 3rd)
Same matchups again 2 weeks later…
YB DB CD
SBI DR IOJ
NSP HOD BP
and then probably the same one as week 2…. again.
It’s hardly like sport where underdog teams are going to cause upset. Not unless they’re allowed a bunch of extra players on the field anyway…

In all seriousness, I am also curious to know if drops that weren’t picked up are kept track of.
More likely it could be worked out based on other information they had if it’s possible at all.
i.e Number of precursors produced – number of precursors actually introduced into game.
How many precursors have dropped in the game as loot but weren’t picked up for whatever reason?

Looks like they went in the other direction and upped the prices again.
Just noticed very high population servers are now 2400 gems and not 1800.
… but they finally fixed the exotic amulet ‘All Seeing’ to have appropriate level 80 stats, and it has increased from around 1 – 4g to 30 – 40g. Partly because of the fix, but also because it’s required for one of the collection achievements.
So was anyone here patient enough to hold onto one they may have had or hopeful enough it’d be fixed one day to buy some?

Mobile Strikes, Dogged March, Balanced Stance, Warhorn 4 and well most people are going to have – condi duration runes/food anyway.
Any old nike warrior is going to easily outrun those conditions you mention.
I got the impression that you will no longer be able to see what items you have successfully purchased in your ‘pick-up’ section unless you’re actually at a TP trader. You can see that you have items and gold to pick-up, but you can’t see any details (i.e what these items are) unless you’re at a trader.
Have I misunderstood? Fairly annoying if not.

Yes they have more people than Mag. No, none of the T3 servers have comparable populations to FA. FA are being creamed by an extremely stacked oceanic SoS, however I’m willing to bet if they were to drop to T3 for a match against CD/DB they would lead PPT comfortably across most if not all timezones.
What I don’t understand is why the T3 servers are tanking. Are the dumb and meaningless rewards really worth this farcical tankfest?
I’d understand tanking for the previous two seasons. 7-9 weeks of getting farmed is usually bad for servers.
However, this tournament is only 4 weeks long. We’ve had stale matchups for far longer than 4 weeks. And this is 4 weeks where the current T3 servers would get a shot at fighting servers they haven’t seen in a loooong time (if ever), without the pressure of having to worry about the PPT game. If I were a diehard WvW’er on a T3 server, I’d absolutely make the push for Gold, considering how short this tournament is.
Feel free to try and take IoJ up there. Quite frankly I think you’d have to be insane to want to be the 6th server in Gold even for 4 weeks. I don’t think you really understand how big the gap is. You may as well go PVE for a month.

Pretty much all classes have their strengths roaming, with maybe guardians the worst off if I had to pick one. You will see mesmers and thieves the most. I agree what everyone else was saying about their experiences with Warriors, most of them are god awful runaway warriors.
I primarily play Ranger (BM or shout) and Guard (meditation) which is pretty fun.
My experiences with mesmers/thieves. Too lazy to post rest for now.
- Mesmer (worth noting I am just generally hopeless with mesmers, concentration issues I think)
Guard: Kited too easily most of the time even with plenty of mobility. Non-PU mesmers easier.
Ranger: PU can be doable with sic em but start to run out of utility spots trying to jam signet of renewal in too.
- Thieves
Guard: Will beat most d/d d/p thieves. Condi P/D or w/e can usually put up a decent fight with sword 3 burst or can put more pressure on using scepter.
Ranger: Can put a good fight up against any thief build with sic em and condi pressure.
Yeah nah.
Confusion is really the only condition I think there is a problem with, and that is mostly because of perplexity.
I’d probably hate torment too if I saw it more often.
The idea behind these conditions just annoy me. Punish players for moving and using their skills. Yeah, good one.
Maybe next we can add a condition for when you swap weapons or simply look at the opposition.

On topic (a topic that has been done to death a 1000 times), I will repeat what I said in another thread…
Who cares if people run who didn’t wish to fight me in the first place. What a stupid thing to get mad over. You seem to have drawn up some silly notion that if someone is in WvW THEY MUST WANT TO 1V1!!!!11 People play WvW for all sorts of reasons. As frustrating at it can be, there are plenty who play to be zergbaby baddies that /laugh when they defeat you 3v1 (and get downed in the process) but run for the hills if you catch them by themselves. It’s just the way it is.
What is deserving of ridicule is those who initiate a fight and then run (which happens a LOT and let’s be honest, 9/10 times it’s a warrior) when they realise they’re going to lose. Those folk make themselves target #1 for the rest of the night and deserve all grieving they receive.
