Sad thing is, the people will involved will get away with organised cheating yet I’m sure if players were to even up the ledger by wasting supply on purpose etc they’d be reported/temp banned for griefing when caught.

This is getting really pathetic, coming from someone on SBI. I would love to hear why fellow server-mates are this desperate to get into Gold league. Is it to ensure we drop back to mid tiers?

Will be going somewhere in silver personally if SBI gets into Gold. Wouldn’t surprise me to see some of our bandwagon go to one of the top three though.

I don’t think anyone is delusional about the fact SBI got transfers and that’s why we are where we are. That delusion will always be suited to the likes of Aeros as seen above. Classic lols there.

Day crew won’t matter much if FA shows up again tonight, even if the entire night crew shows up. The question is, will FA game the system to put us in silver with them or go all the way to gold. My bet is they push SBI into gold then ease off.

Could have easily been bought during Lost Shores and hoarded since then. Leaf of Kudzu was 60g and Dusk was ~ 170 – 180g at it’s lowest. Or slowly bought at any other time. Some people have insane amounts of $$$ you know.

SBI isn’t that much above FA, so if the rumors of FA getting a couple transfers are accurate, it could be quite a fight for first.

Plenty of SBI folk aren’t turning out to WvW this week. Whether that is to intentionally drop down to Silver or just because they don’t like being roflstomped in PPT, you’d have to ask them. Probably both.

3.5 days in and guess who is still showing up to fight for SBI, and guess who isnt? SoR’s blob and coverage is just rediculous. I have blown so much siege just trying to get a foot hold every morning just to try and get motivation.

For the record, I would still rather have the tougher match then the easier one. Hence why so many of us stayed with SBI even after the mass exodus to the other Tier 1 beasts. I assume it will only get worse when our bloated with fair weather server attracts more of the same when/if we dominate Silver.

I’m not sure where this all went so wrong, I was pretty content in the T 3-5 range with one map queued daily. Anyhow, last spot will not be going to us barring a miracle. As far as tactics and coverage is concerned, we dont deserve it, so thats a good thing.

The one thing that amazed me is the vitriol aimed at a server made up primarily of militia who stayed behind from Exodus. I dont recall recruitment thread or people trying to poach others the way DB or Kaening did. I kind of felt, and still do, that we got the short end of the stick along with HoD.

Hope you make it Mag, though feel for any server that has to match up with that tier one mega blob.

I have made it very clear that I want to be in Silver League. For various reasons, too.

Still, that hasn’t stopped me from WvWing at all. So don’t think that all of us who want to be in Silver are actually purposely avoiding WvW for this week.

Each person is entitled to an opinion. That said, I suffer from actually having a decent memory.

In the SoS/JQ/SBI days many SoS commanders did an excellent job of gaming JQ and SBI into nullifying each other. The fact that we may be tending to go after SoR currently is our choice and freely made at that. SBI is free to play however they wish.

IMHO, The fact that SBI is currently doing a better job of gaming SoR for ppt than we are is simply their playstyle choice. There is nothing wrong with playing the ppt game for your server.

I’m on SBI and I’d much, much rather be in Silver League.

Of course, a league with 4 – 9 would have been my first preference, if it existed. That would have been lots of fun and the closest that SBI can come to a close a match-up.

At the moment it’s either

1) Get roflstomped in Gold
2) Roflstomp (most likely) in Silver.

Still, the closest thing we can have to a close match-up is top of silver, not bottom of Gold.

Whoever gets to Gold, I look forward to keeping an eye on the JQ vs SoR vs #6 server match up. shudder

Every zerg vs zerg fight I have been in against SoR ends up one way: 30/40v30/40 becomes 30/40 vs 70. Actually, I could just use a formula and remove the ‘zerg vs zerg’ condition and say every fight against SoR ends that way, whether it be solo, small group play or zergs. To be expected, but laughable to suggest otherwise. Nice try bros.

SOR was running noticeably lighter tonight, after last week’s grunge match it is the smart thing to do to avoid burnout. Everything is being flipped back and forth and everyone is having fun fights I think. There is no reason to do to SBI/SoS what we did to BG’s BL 2 weeks ago ie SOR bl 2.0 tri-keeped and fully waypointed :p

I totally believe that you can kill a good D/P thief is he doesn’t run from you, but really how can you stop him running as a guardian? As a guardian sure you might be able to make him flee, but you can’t kill him. Then if you try to take a camp or something he can ambush you in the middle of it (or you can both /dance, neither of these are really ‘beating’ the thief imo)

I hear you. It might be making it’s way into “not good” territory but it really depends when they run, i.e how low their health is. If they use shadow refuge to get out of there when they’re low, I have killed a small % trying to run away by Shield 5 -> Scepter 3 (they will usually shadowstep after being knocked out) -> Scepter 2 -> GS 3 -> GS 5 (pull if moved again) -> GS 2. But like I said, maybe they kitten ed and aren’t “good”. You’re right for the most part – if they want to get away they will. It’s rare, but some thieves will fight to the death. I don’t think that necessarily makes them bad, either, at least not in the skillful sense. I always fight to the death on my guardian even if I’m getting my kitten kicked, but I barely have a choice Repair bills are nothing.

Guardian does fairly well against them in my experience, and I do know the difference between a good and a bad one. I wouldn’t like my chances at all on other professions. I have two Guardians, one is healway one is more solo/roamer.

In general:
- Keep moving after stealth/save dodges for when you expect them to use Backstab
- Don’t spend a second in their smoke circles etc.
- I honestly find judge’s intervention a complete waste considering it has a long CD and any decent thief will just be out of your range again in a second.
- I ALWAYS save my heal for the last second if the thief is relatively low too. Yeah, this is risky, but if they see you low they will come in melee range for the kill. I have won many of my thief fights (on my roamer not my healway) by taking the risk of healing late, bringing the thief back into melee range when we’re both low, hitting heal and GS 4/2 to death. I have also lost a few by taking the risk, too though (oh noes 9k+ burst).

On the healway, go defensive. Main stats are Pow, Tough, Heal Power, and straight off the bat I will say the only way you will actually have a chance to “win” this fight is if you’re fighting one of those rare thieves that won’t run halfway across the map when they are in trouble, i.e they will fight to the death. Use GS/Staff. With GS and this set-up you will pretty much have permanent retaliation up (Save yourselves, stand your ground, stunbreakers too), GS 4/2/5/5 or GS 4/5/2/5 when they come in melee range (they will skip out during GS2 usually). Staff 3 on ground, Staff 2 detonate/Staff 4 heal up after burst.

On the roamer, my tactics are offensive rather than defensive. Main stats are power, prec, toughness. GS & Scept/shield. GS – self explanatory. Scepter – need a decent range weapon for when they move out of melee range if you’re going offensive. Skill 3 immobs, skill 2 is decent if they are immob’d, usually forces them to stealth or come back into melee range. GS skill 4, 2, 5 etc. Shield – Okay, shield is pretty lame in most situations I’ve found. However, if the thief has shadow refuge (most seem to) slotted, shield 5 will almost always knock them out, waste the CD and reveal them. I have the shield trait on too, so skill 4 can give 5s protection every 24s + hold the line (shouts cd trait).

I get where you’re coming from one, good ones are complete pains, but it gets a bit silly/subjective trying to place a particular thief into the “good” bracket that you’re talking about, are they “not good” by default if they lose?

That’s it SoS. Knock SBI back down to Silver.

I’d like to thank SBI for what has been a very educational week. Here’s what I learnt:

1) Don’t try to second guess the SBI commanders. Olaf had me completely baffled when he rammed down the outer gate of SM… then backed out and ran around to the hole in the wall his own team had reported 10 minutes earlier. Obviously I have a lot to learn from him.

2) over encumbered is a hilarious way to die. I never thought I’d have to tell the guys to use a vendor in the middle of a fight, but hey! sbi provides.

3) Whoever has said you can’t make money in WvW has never fought SBI since the blobbening.

4) Whenever you’re feeling lonely, nothing beats a few AC’s in the SM lord room to ensure SBI sends all their plebs to a lonely death, followed by their commander going “why didnt you follow me” as he runs out the gate again.

5) Turns out, you can get more then 25000 kills a week. Thanks SBI!

Tell me more about how you “don’t care” yet you spent all week on an alt account complaining in SBI map/team chat.
