For christmas I’d like to get a crossbow for my characters.
With love, a cute kitty.
Could be interesting, don’t know if that wouldn’t recquire too much work tho…
Right click report for botting GG
This wont help at all. You are probably going to shoot yourself into the leg with that since Anet bans people who massively falsly report other people.
You need to prove that claim (and you can’t). How are you falsely reporting if someone is standing still for 10 minutes after hitting the boss 5 times?
Yes you can, it is written when you report them, take some time to read. It is also written they’re taking chat logs into account and not unsubstantiated player reports. So yeah, report em if you want, get yourself a ban.
Whether you like it or not, people can go afk, and they will given how boring the event gets. Because it is their right, and banning them from a game in which they probably have invested a crazy amount of hours and some money because they were “afk at an event” is just plainly stupid. Yeah, they might make the event fail sometimes, does it give you ANY right ? It does not. 6 players can just be bad turreters and make Tequatl fail. Yet you don’t have, by ANY means, the right to report them. I don’t think you realize that banning someone because he “akitten and made me have 8 bags instead of 10”, thus wasting 50 €/$/whatever + hundreds/thousands of hours played + gems bought perhaps is like ultra childish. And I don’t think you realize that there are people paid to review all those reports and that spamming them greatly reduce their QoL at work just because they have to go through so much stupid reports.
Yeah, I don’t like getting afk, I don’t like uplevled on these events, but you know what ? In the end, I don’t. I just don’t. Care. Okay, I’ll have to find another one, and then ? It’s not even rare, only thing missing is the queue function to join another server. In no ways would I report someone who’s going afk, I don’t even care if they make me get silver instead of gold, really, 2 bags, what is it to you, is it worth more than what the person invested ?
Let that be a teaching to ANet, make a queue to join servers so it’s not that annoying, create living bosses and not bosses that get boring ultra quickly (but still reward so much that everyone wants it’s piece of the cake and everyone will do it by the most simple way). I’m so fed up with all the rage in mapchat, feel like I’m playing on some teletubies wars or LoL or I don’t know what, where everyone is a toddler and babbles its rage.
2k chances ~, one recipe, 2 mini, 2 backpieces, and 9 favors. Got the recipe at a bit more than 2k chances I think.
I think the general consensus is to promote refined cloth (or other materials) in the Mystic Flusher as the best way to turn Skill Points into Gold. Claims of 3 – 6 gold per SP are common.
Be wary of on-line instructions that “recommend” BLTP markets. Best case, they can be woefully outdated and worst case, the author is trying to “manipulate” those markets with their suggestions.
Not much familiar with the Mystic Forge, but isn’t the recipe for higher quality gear four gear of the same quality ?
Map completion is one of the things that I feel should not be carried over if someone does a race change.
Mind to explain the reason behind this ?
“How can you be that thick ?”
Gandalf, 2015, talking about the massive amount of gold pav sellers.
This is just not right. You taxi people in for a reason. So they will fill up your server everytime someone dc. Server not filled = server dead, if you taxi me in then I’m also doing you a favor.
I can understand people selecting only 80. They add more DPS and thus serve the server’s purpose, although I’d find it better to say 80 or begginers to allow newbies to access content (aka players with very few AP). But paying 1g for a serv that MIGHT get gold or MIGHT fail just after ? Paying to access open world content ?
This is NOT a matter of “I don’t like this”, this kind of behavior makes the community freaking toxic. I NEVER seen a “pay to access Tequatl” taxi. Never ever. People taxi others in because they’re nice or because they need help, and in that case if we join we help them to get rewards, end of story goodbye. Now with something that tends to die quite quickly, and not even get gold all the time, this is just a clear abuse of it.
Yeah, go on, argue you’ll get more when you join the server (maybe). That’s why I’m thinking about making others pay to go in dungeons with me. Isn’t that how it works ?
Keep going, folks. Community was by the nicest at the start, it just gets more and more stu-kittened-pid. If I put “LF taxi to gold pav blablablah”, I get no answer, if I put “LF taxi to gold pav 1g”, I get one in the second. I’m sure that must feel good, isn’kitten Being more guided by greed than by the will to help others and yourself at the same time ? That’s how you get a bad community.
Edit : Oyeah, too, because I know some kid will come up and say “then don’t join those taxis”. When LFG is filled with more and more of those, I don’t see how I am given the choice. Oh, well, I can always abuse the paying taxis, I really won’t mind doing that.
Do my ears deceive me? Are people kittening that they nerfed bloodstone dust?
After threads and threads and threads about there being too much of it?
rolls on the floor laughing
As I said when they nerfed karma into oblivion…. we reap what we sow…
Yeah you do know you’re on a forum on which “several” players to not say hundreds / thousands of them have gone through it and as such, many opinions will emerge ? And that not everybody thinks the same on a forum ? You seem to assume the OP stated there were too much Bloodstone, well I’m pretty sure he’s not by the people you’re talking about and if you look his messages history you won’t find any “QQ too many Bloodstone”. Surprise : it’s not you and the rest, it’s you, and this guy, and this other guy, and this other guy… and everyone express a different opinion. Roll on the floor laughing as much as you want.
Fact is, we had the OPTION to delete them. Now we’re FORCED to have less. Don’t see any use for that.
http://www.gw2spidy.com/item/36401
Well… whether it’s been added recently for a future release whether it’s… I don’t know what it is.
This would be so easy to do, and make it so much easier for them…
Telling us how great this is don’t change the fact you don’t take into consideration the real economic impact it’ll have for ANet. Between what people say they will do (“buy all I can in the gemstore because I can switch them easily”) and what they’ll really do, there’s a world.
Why do you think the infinite gathering tools were not made avaible on all characters + new characters when you buy one ? So people would ultimately have to make a choice between an annoying way of sending them to other characters or buying another one. And that’s what your bag would not allow. Sure there are probably people out there that “won’t buy it because I play on multiple toons”, but these are also the least inclined to make the best use of it and as such of buying it (playing with one character = 50/100 stacks of gathering tools usually used pretty fast, playing with multiple = takes more time and as such is less important). + then again, between what they say and what they do, there’s a world. + if people stack multiple tools in their inventory, less spaces = more will to buy new slots.
See, they win. With your bag, they lose. Sure I’d love to have this kind of thing, but at some point it gets a bit too convenient for us. And I repeat once more : bank access = gems.
There’s the item that allow you to access the bank at any time which is quite expensive for a reason : it’s very RNG based, you get it in black lion chest, that means gems, that means loads of IG money or real life money, and it’s very rare.
Now you want something that will devalue that completely. Think about the odds it happens. I’d set them to about 0%. They have bank slots and items to deal with that, they won’t put a bag that will allow anyone to do it “just like that”.
moa racing was released with last dragon bash.. currently he only has chicks, but it would be great if they made a moa race similar to the dolyak calf race.. he can extract a new moa tonic from them and they can update the race course while lion’s arch is being rebuilt.. as for dragon bash, it would be a great opportunity to display social tensions in tyria as season 2 moves forward.. not to mention smashing pinatas and burning dragon effigies was the simplest and best thing they ever implemented in this game…
Oh god this is perfect.
“Okay guildie223, you’ll be our moa for this run.”
“But but sir, I don’t wan-…”
“Shut up, drink that tonic.”
“But…” /drinks tonic\
“If you lose I’ll kick you, we all have 50 silvers on you. Don’t be a disappointment son.”
Eeeeh, that’s called a bank.
Home instance is pretty useless right now if you put the nodes apart. Players don’t e ven notice new NPC since there’s no use staying in their instance. So I guess it’d be better with some useful NPC…
and what proves you that the dev’s will actually do as they say?
Remember precursor crafting?
Afaik, precursor crafting has never been cancelled. This means the best inference we can make is that it has been back-burnered. If you’re looking for an example of devs actually changing their tune, look at max stat gear.
Excepted that was nicely played of them. Players ASKED for it. We. And I don’t mean me or you, because I didn’t and neither did you I guess, I mean the playerbase. We were the ones wanting that stuff. Let’s not complain they listen, because what good will it do ? We got a few more skins. Nobody recquires “ascended tier berserker gear” when trying to group up, nobody is getting kicked for that. AND we have more content, some better crafting to do, ‘smarter’ crafting.
Now precursor crafting that’s another story. I don’t remember them putting a date on that (maybe did I missed it while being away from the game, I only remember them saying “someday”), which would, in this case, be different from the LS since they actually announced the date from Season 2, while precursor are still being worked on. Now legendaries are supposed to be the endgame weapons. Every part of the game have to matter in making them ; WvW, Karma, map completion… and for now RNG / loads of gold also played a part. Now getting recipes is cool, and everything ; however it recquires to be very careful not to devalue legendaries even more than the wardrobe did.
And what about when you have a single boss against a whole zerg? What kind of an assessment could the AI make when it’s literally surrounded by constant aoes? It couldn’t go after the aoe casters because there’s so many of them that even if the boss kills one, it’ll be replaced by another, while the dead one is revived within seconds.
Well they are bosses. While other mobs can use certain type of evade, they are the “legendaries” ones, making them flee would be pretty awkward. Instead itcould use some blocking, agressive dashing to dodge AoE, maybe just dodging like we do with certain weapons (aka performing a certain attach animation while dodging like Rangers (great)sword etc).
We were living just fine at the start of the game.
Until the Achievement Points Nation attacked.
One day ArenaNet will stop allowing us to see other people’s AP and we can end this toxic war, I believe.
As I recall next month of last year was the Dragons feast, don’t recall how it was called. Then they have to start the LS 2, and think they want to do so in not much time, not wait two months and a half. Well I hope I’m wrong, I want the SAB.
Yup, logically speaking mousewheel bind I’m talking about is 1:1. But since I’m pretty sure it’s a lifetime ban with no warning and no way to even try to talk with them after if something goes wrong and they’re angry, I’d prefer it not to be a grey area, since they give contradictory responses themselves sometimes.
If 1 to X key bindings are not allowed then ANet really needs to allow us to consume a stack of items. 250 double-clicks on multiple stacks means RSI by design and breaking mouse buttons by design. (That could be an interesting legal case)
Anyone for the drinking achievement? I’d autohotkey that one!
And what about things like Champion bags? Consuming a “stack” of those would fill up your inventory instantly, which probably isn’t the desired effect.
You do realize that there is no need for this functionality, right? They already circumvented it with the manufacturing of Essences of Luck. It’s be much easier to just add alcohol that gives you more progression. Similarly, rather than allowing you to buy in bulk, they can just add tabs where you can buy larger stacks of items from NPCs.
There is a need and as someone that has about a thousand champ bags and two thousand supply box worth of materials you can trust me on that, and you can also trust me that I am not an exception, I know people that have much larger needs for that. Anet is perfectly able to do a "open until inventory is full ; when inventory is full, stop and if necessary put on the “your bag is full and the following items are waiting” window". Or, at worst, “open until you have 4 cases left in your inventory, then stop”, that way it’s even easier for them. This should have been there from the very start, it’s simple and necessary in the game gw2 has become. The fact you don’t need one is no excuse to tell others it’s not necessary when it’s been requested many times.
Anyways, we don’t care about that, since they’ll do it whenever they feel like it. All we care about is if AHK is okay.
(edited by AnAspieKitten.5732)
Based on what I remember from disassembling a mouse, you’re technically pressing the “button” multiple by rotating the wheel, even if “pressing a button” involves rotating an obstacle near a photo sensor.
That said, I remember a thread on the subject where a dev said they can’t elaborate on particular actions, and it felt like they have to be deliberately vague just in case.
You can look at it that way:
GW2MMOs are about prestige; playing music perfectly is part of prestige, just like beating Liadri or speedclearing Lupi is. So yes, that’s not monetary, yet still an advantage.
No great knowledge on the subject, but it would seem rather logical to me that one “tick” of the wheel is equal to one action just like it zooms once when I wheel up/down once (talking about one rotation = just like scrolling down/up once on the page here = only one move). Isn’t it the case ? Would look pretty weird…
Well yes, you can take that as an advantage. As I said, no mouse breaking (+50$/£/€ you won’t throw out of the window), you don’t go crazy doing it and yes that might makes things faster. But then you can say everything’s an advantage, including combat mode which was regarded as not bannable apparently. Is playing an instrument well because you have a macro allowing you not to fail an advantage ? Yes you play it well more consistantly, but this doesn’t give you the slightest advantage otherwise, and people around you won’t go jealous, they’ll just like it (and more instruments buy = more gemzzzz).
Hacks are studied to work while not being detected, AHK is not. We don’t really know how their bot detection work, and the “advantage” area is chaotic. Gayle told us they can’t support scripts or mods, but this subject has been asked many times for the exact same reasons, and never have they clearly told us if “RE-BINDING” just as we would re-bind in the game in a one key press on action mode is okay. Not supporting it, we take responsability for a possible malware. Just telling us if re-binding something will ban us from their game, since they’re the ones who know it.
(edited by AnAspieKitten.5732)
Combat mode is a script, from what I know. Still allowed apparently.
I’d like a short yes/no answer from Mark about my question if you ever come back around – would be really thankfull.
Someone who gets 3/4 of that ? You’re going pretty crazy there, dropping one is already a TON of luck, and when I say a ton it really is a ton, I mean there’s barely 3/4 recipes known throughout all the servers at this moment, we can’t expect someone to drop multiple recipes without it getting patched.
I think living world rewards is fine. Many people are doing it, because it’s the only way to get tokens, and it’s only way to get the rewards from the vendor.
Is there any good tokens -> gold stuff to buy? Oh, I guess I should look on the wiki, but if you have first hand knowledge, that would be appreciated.
And AnAspieKitten, that could indeed be the issue. I got there, got on the event, and 45 minutes or so later we’d downed the last boss for a Bronze award and 6 bags. I haven’t been back since.
Yes, there are a lot of issues with the event and I’m the first to admit it as I previously stated on other threads ; however, they’re trying to make the game more skilled and I can’t approve that more than I do, they’re just not giving us enough tool to work better with it. I reckon it will get better with time, as they experience more of those kind of events. Use LFG if you want to get in a good server.
Pavilion has very good rewards, not the issue – issue is you need to be in a good, organized server, while there’s very little tools to help communicating and even some restricting it (language filters, blocked messages). If you get into one, then you get pretty much 10 bags per, I don’t know, 10 minutes ? That’s nice. Buffing rewards was a nice idea and make the effort more worth, and while the event is, in my opinion, still lacking some very basic help from ANet, it still rewards you well for being in a good group.
Unless you are pressing one physical key per each individual action, it is not permitted. Anything that presses multiple buttons per single user button-press or key-press is not allowed.
Thanks a lot for your reply. So can you clarify just to be sure : can I bind left click to my wheel (aka wheel down once = one click, not multiple clicks or anything) with AHK and not get banned by an automatic bot detector or something ? Even if that would happen, would I get to clarify the situation with the support or would they deny my request ?
i use autohotkey once a month to play. however, this is to bind the mouse wheel since this game doesn’t support this function.
This. This is exactly what I’d like to know.
Because I can’t see a proper answer. I sent a ticket, all they tell me is “macro are not allowed”, well great my good sir, but is performing one action per one wheel roll still not tolerated ? They didn’t want to answer this, and it’s really bothering me.
Would binding left click to wheel to open those 250 stacks of bags/essence of luck/whatever be an “unfair advantage” ? Already broke my g500’s click doing that, and I don’t fancy breaking another one, mindlessely clicking on virtual items. But then again, I don’t want to get banned either, and I still have huge numbers of things to open (and there’s really no reason for the mouse wheel not to be bindable, by the way). My mouse’s software can’t bind the wheel so I’d have to use AHK, but it looks kind of like a grey area while ANet sees it in white and black. No warnings, just banning, that’s not what I’d like.
Yes, I do have to use a 3rd party program since I can’t bind the wheel IG, nor can I open all of my stacks by right-clicking > open all, and that is a huge issue ; yes I know it’s “at my own risk”, but that doesn’t mean anything besides “might get banned, might not, who knows, play your luck” (RNG bans coming soon :?). No, that is not a macro since I perform only one action at a time ; yes and no, that can be considered as an advantage since I don’t destroy my mouse and my time opening everything, but that doesn’t help me performing better, it’s basically the same as those achievements that recquired macros so you don’t die from repeating the same thing over and over again in gw1.
Practically the same goes for OP ; except it’s a macro, since it presses multiple keys at once. But that doesn’t give him an advantage besides playing cool songs and cheering up the group he is with. I’ve seen “yes you’ll get banned”, I’ve seen “no it’s okay”, I’ve mostly seen “do it if you’d like but we could maybe ban you if we’re in a bad mood” redposts, but in the end I’d like a real answer to that. Even if combat mode is tolerated, does that mean the rest is ?
Well, you forget the fact you also have to be worried about what will bring you conditions. I highly doubt a Warrior with sigil of earth will just skip the precision, and that makes three stats.
Then again, EU servers have much higher problems than NA servers with communication nowadays.
What is it to you ? Where does that impact your quality of life ? Not being able to boast in front of newer players is not exactly “quality of life”, fyi. I had most of those, I don’t even care if they’re released again.
All of that is just plain elitism. “I have this because I bought the game earlier, you can’t and I don’t want you to have it because you bought it later so you can’t have it”, and that’s IT. You can still use it, it will still be as nice as before. Yep, maybe will you see a bit more, so what, does that matter to you, do your character gets uglier with it ? Wanna get something exclusive ? Buy Chaos of Lyssa, there you go.
Actually ANet should just put a “obtained during first festival” on the item description for those that got it last year, they’d be happy because they can show to others they got theirs first.
What a shame that it has to devalues it, you can’t feel superior for having bought the game a year ago.
Yup, it should…
The bad design has been pointd out hundred times in the forums with explanations. Do your reseach then.
Every third patches, so every 3 months, well I’d be so glad if that was the case but not really sure they would do that unless an expansion comes out. Though I approve the “pushing towards the final destination” thing, just hoping to see ennemies a bit more interesting that the Risen were.
Every player isn’t even aware of language filter yet, and it’s, as I recall, automatically checked, so that’s even worse.
1) Fix communications issues. Color bosses icons se we can see the ongoing scaling or something like that, introduce some shiny mapwide pings, make us be able to see how much health a boss has and how many people are there, I don’t know, there’s just so much to work on since you barely improved this side while making the bosses recquire more, and you made it so much worse for EU just a month ago.
2) Get the arenas out of there. People doing them shouldn’t take space for the blitz, otherwise it’s just plain kittened. Make it instanced so we can go to another world with our group if we want to, still getting the “spectator” side of it without the waiting, or just another area, and it’s fine.
3) Forbid commander tags. People ARE going to follow them, yes this is not how it should be done but they WILL and you know it, everyone does, no matter how wrong it is they’re going for what they’re used to. Because that’s what we’ve been doing from the start, isnt it? Take commanders as the big meeting point where the farming is best, where the zerg is the most popular, all of that is just fine, just don’t bring it here. Yes, peple should realize this is stupid, but we have two to four weeks to do that, and people WON’T realize, or on the latest part, and ANet should have seen that coming since the event is okay with either 0 commanders or either 6.
4) Teach players, since we can’t do it. Guide them. I don’t know… I know how to do it, none of the servers I’ve been on knows though, so I can’t do it, if I explain, maybe 1/4 of the servers will see the messages, maybe 1/16 will listen, maybe 1/32 will understand or trust me.
From the start of the game we’ve been zerging. You can introduce things that are not zerging, it’s perfectly fine, it’s pretty cool. But give us the tools and teach players the correct way now you’ve teached them the wrong way. Or penalize both the smart ones that get frustrated for being able to do it only with a big guild or with a lucky guess on a server, and the sheep ones or those who were not teached how to do it that will get bored and go back to other things.
(edited by AnAspieKitten.5732)
Well at worse they can introduce Scarletta, Scarlet and Mordremoth’s daughter, who will be an annoying kittykitten during one living story season and will create a flower dragon so we can play another season. That’s two years and they can hire the writer that made the LS season 1 for just a few bucks I expect so it’s pretty cheap compared to an actual one. See, they have plenty of ressources to go on if they run out of inspiration !
Even if it doesn’t get patched it will come back later on, I don’t see ANet working on items that a hundred players in the whole game will get.
How does it not work? I think it amazing.
5 other Commanders and I just organized and progressed all the way up to 30 seconds off of Gold. It isn’t hard.
Just don’t be lazy and command better.
It’s a step in the right direction compared to last years follow the Dorito and zerg type of thing.
I love the Pavilion this time around.
Just stop expecting to get everything handed to you without working for it.
Yeah, I too always end up on a six commander server.
Gambles = 1 ticket per gamble.
Still, the numbers are already astronomical lol
Mmm dodging would allow you go through allies (shouldn’t go through enemies but that could be debated) but if you land at the end of roll on someone you get moved to the next free space.
Yeah we know how well GW2 handles that, the “next free space”. You dodge then 1 second later you’re in mid-air again. Amazing to feel.
I really don’t know if you realize how much of an issue your suggestion would be. First, there can’t be anything of that sort in a JP. Even during exploration that can be annoying. Then necro’s pets and all those sort of things would cause one hell of an issue if it was implemented. Tequila and T&T become impossible and chaotic, world bosses as a whole become jut annoying to deal with.
You’re in a game, one of the very few games that has a lot of open world content. Now you tell me where is the fun part when you basically get blocked by everything. This is just a pain to deal with you’re adding, because no, that WON’T help fix issues. You don’t fix issues by making world bosses randomly annoying (Jormag, looking at you), or by making some COMPLETELY impossible, or by making the whole world annoying. WB too easy peasy, then fix those blank spots, problem solved. Dungeons too buggy, then fix those kittened bugs.
And heck, even in WvW that would just annoy people. I don’t know if you realize how limited of a design this kind of thing is, but it’s kind of like “if you have no boots / broken boots, you should run at 10% speed because little rocks will hurt your feet and that way if you make a zerg wipe 5 times they will all be slow (maybe) !” or “there should be a maximum weight and lenght your bag can carry, I mean we’re in a RPG and we all know RPGs are realistic so how comes I can put this spear in my bag, I want it more realistic” , or even as if rangers had a weapon that annoyingly removes your liberty of moving during 2 of it’s 3 autoattack chain and even during it’s 2 other skills making it frustrating for a lot of people but the few chosen ones that can handle playing with that.
See, all of that is frustrating, annoying design. Just like blocking is. Sure, it’s more realistic, and we’re all great fans of that especially in fantasy/steampunk world. Best regards gentlemen, I’m off to play Eurotruck simulator since I really like videogames to be just like real life (well I can’t drive truck anyways.). ~
Alright, thanks.
Dear diary,
Today I found that the gw2 forums’ search sucks and I can’t find what I am looking for.
So I’ve basically got two questions : are character expansion slots on sale on a regular basis (ie every 2/3/4 months), and what percentile does it take off ?
From my search on google it seems there was one two months ago (from what I remember :?) and it goes up to 20% (bit more than 600 gems). I don’t really pay attention to sales usually but… well 800 gems hurt, and actually 600 gems + the waiting hurt just as much. As I couldn’t find many informations about that I’m kind of wondering if it’s worth waiting for, I thought there was a 50% reduction once but I was mistaken I guess. Sorry if I misused the search engines somehow.
Thanks.
Depends what MMO you’re talking about. But as for me I’m satisfied with it. Excepted the underwear-lightarmor.
And I play seens lunch too, what a coincidence.
Well let’s not play on words shall we, OP is annoyed and you perfectly got that.
As we know ArenaNet doesn’t like to say they’re gonna do “that”. Remember the pre-release ?
The one fight that we lost against him was probably the biggest fail in Teq attempts – at the end of the 25% defense phase, people begun heading back to the landing site at the 20ish second as usual; problem was that no one noticed how quickly the East battery was dropping therefore exactly 1-2 seconds before the laser was charged, we lost it. We only had 2 minutes to kill him and 1 minute of them was lost in trying to run all the way back to him since we got wiped.
So yea, Teq is quite easy actually. I find Jormag to be far more difficult.
Hail the server that failed at less than 1% on the days after Teq came out back when he was actually hard. Let’s not exagerate with Jormag, same level as Svanir’s shaman with higher hp.
Teq is fine because it’s been nerfed. People don’t need organisation anymore. Turrets defenders, DPS groups, turrets, there we go, as long as the turrets don’t screw up you just pack up and dps while jumping (if you’re not in the blank spot…), or you smash the mobs to defend the turrets. The whole event is based on what 6 people will do which is a really bad design and has been pointed out since the very day it came out ; however, now that Teq is by far easier than when it came out, this is less of a problem. Though I’m pretty sad this is as it is. It should be a very difficult boss, but it can’t, because game designer themselves messed up, AND because we would face the same problem as we now face with the wurm.
Well actually wurm is even worse, people actually need to do things while being organized when Tequatl was mainly about 6 people having to know. So, guild specialized in killing it find an empty server, bring all their friends, easy peasy. The others, well… well nope, simply put. They won’t get it. Because this needs a hell lot of organization, but the game itself doesn’t offer the tools for it. No voip = teamspeak needed = lazy people won’t download and will go like “yeah w/e I’ll just do the same as them”. No instance = map caps with people playing on the rest of the map and not actually doing the event, plus the scaling is bad (instance is exactly what was wanted at Teq before nerf and that is even more crucial with wurm).
So, ya. Even if you’re able to do it with a few pug, that leave a big majority of the players that won’t be able to do it ; and you’re still doing it with hundreds of people on TS that are used to do it. But it is not attractive for the others. The rewards need to be RNG based of course, but yet, finding a server that has the least chance, even 1%, is harder and longer than doing the fight. That’s why an instancied fight has been asked. So if there’s a wurm killing guild only on EU servers I’m still all up for it, hey, if you can send me a pm for that I’d be all glad, really. But as I can’t find one it seems I’m bound to not be able to do it unless extremely lucky, as much as I try, since there is so few servers actually trying. Sad kitty is sad.

Warriors’ “thing” is to be a weaponmaster. Guardians have their things which I don’t remember how its called at the moment, Rangers have pets, Rogue their initiative, stealing and jumping around, Engineers are secretly creating kitties-robots to eliminate any other classes, Eles have 4 elements, Necros can look like they’re getting eaten by ants and Mesmers have butterfly and clones. Warrior has adrenalin which is bound to whichever weapon the warrior is using.
If everyone gets new weapons, then the warrior isn’t mastering anything anymore since they’re all doing it so, yet they’re the ones supposed to be the weaponmasters. The fact Warrior has been the one everyone shouts at for being OP during most of the time the game has been out is something else, and if the class, or other classes, need some tweak depending on the game mode then that should be done, but not if it has to limit the funny parts of the game, which renew does bring with new weapons, new skins to chase, and whatever else it will bring.
I really like the idea of a class that COULD potentially, as explained before with the staff (might aswell add pretty much any other weapons ; as the warrior is introduced and seen by ANet it could work with everything), master any weapons in the game even if they have to use it differently from others. I like that one particularity of the warrior since it’s the thing that makes it attractive and special as a full physical-class (while others non-magic classes do have their own things already as stated).
What about those who use crafting to level? I leveled cooking to 400 on 3 different chars, two of them to get those levels. A guildie recently got the last few levels of his newest char to 80 by crafting.
Just because you got yours and you don’t need it anymore doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be available for people leveling now.
No, ANet doesn’t need to do anything. It’s fine the way it is.
Maybe we could choose to get retroactive XP for the crafting levels we have. Then we get cooking to 400 once and then get 8 levels on all of our characters.
Yay, I can now go from 1 to 80 compltely freely for completely no reason.
Then again, there are ways to design things. Design it like a zerg event and yes, unless it’s a championfest, it will be forgotten. Now, you take the SAB which is playable solo or with friends, and that’s a perfect exemple of what COULD stay in the game. Now I’m not saying make it come back permanently (well I wouldn’t mind given I like this event a lot), but design things so they can stay, that’s how people are getting entertained.
S1 of the LS has been, for a lot of events, massive zerging all over the place with little pieces of story. The fact you don’t want to play it again is because it is designed to be temporary.
TL;DR ; Let’s try to actually get some real story with interesting content, like a dungeon (and not a blood prince mini-dungeon as “story”, please, for Colonel Meow’s sake), or whatever you want, and not zerging. Every MMO has grinding in it, people will always be attracted by money, but keeping the living story that way is just making it worse. There are other ways to feel like the world lives on than a massive group of 100 people pressing 1.
I guess by extension he basically means new zone, race, weapons, which would indeed be great and has been requested a lot (wanna get my crossbow :<) ; however, fact is the living story is, as it has been stated before, on a break, which explains the feeling of emptyness you didn’t have before. Now seeing that you did everything you could in the game with your time & money, I’m not quite sure if that’d be enough for you. I mean you would just clean it in not so long and that’d be it, unless you’d stay for the living story that will come back in not so long I guess.
So as much as I look forward to a new extension, I doubt that’s enough for people that have been able to do every single thing in the game – many level 80, played alot in WvW, every single dungeons paths + fractals, ascended gear, and whatever I forgot, that’s just huge. And I doubt a few new zones (or one), maybe a few levels, new dungeon, a new race and new weapons would make you stay on the game much longer, you’d just clean it out in some weeks and then back to the “meh” content. That would probably work best for newer players that will discover it later or ‘mid-term’ players that are, I believe, the majority of the active players who, like me, have played quite a lot of hours but still have a lot to do and would perfectly enjoy new stuff. But that’s just my guess.
AstralProjections, I find your signature very offensive and order your take it off now unless you want to be ripped off by a gang of kitties during the night.

Just add a RP server players can chose to be their host server and not their main server in the list and make RP official, then everything would be so much simpler.
