I have a number of ascended trinkets that I just do not use since I found them and are taking up space in storage. At one time on Dulfy I read " hold on to these stat changes are in the works."
Is this still in the works? Will I someday be able to change stats on Ascended trinkets? It is kind of a shame that you gets a nice drop that is worthless. Too bad we can not apply what stats we want, sell to other players, or salvage.
I have 216 world ability points, and play WVW about 30 to 60 minutes a day. I am in WvW mostly for daily but will join a zerg to take towers or keeps if I see one.
My question is since I mostly solo where should I spend my points. My guess is Guard Killer and Defense Against Guards. Also What is “Mercenary’s Bane”- What is considered a Mercenary?
Although will HOT change my spending? We are in a very small guild (4 regular players). What will I need to be doing in WvW to get points for our Hall?
I have a second monitor and have no issues with videos running while I play. That said in high density Boss fights even with out a video running I can lag.
Have you tired to lower you game graphics when you watch?
Guild Wars 1 used to officially use Texmod to color anything form weapons to an entire town if you so desired. The catch was only you could see it, or friends if they ran your mod. Imagine LA with a Happy Birthday or Wedding banner.
When GW2 was released the questions about Txtmod was brought up a few times with no reply from Anet.
Texmod was fantastic for us creative types and sorely missed.
I have been excited about guild halls since day one of GW2. We are a very small guild that has been saving for the day when it will eventually happen and have a mear 500,000+ Influence earned. the plan was to hope tp bebale affoed a nice guild hall when the rime comes.
Fast forward — So it appears that guild halls will need new currency. What will happen to our nest egg of influence?
Will small guilds just be pushed aside and not be able to get the nice halls? um we paid for the game too..
Thanks for those who are looking forward to the event, and who post to say they are. For those who are posting up bile-filled negativity, I’d like you to step back and think about the situation: We’re having a Halloween festival in a timeframe when many, many players thought there would not be one. Dire “the sky is falling” commentary isn’t appropriate. Rude “You got nothing” comments have no place here.
We’re offering to join community events because they’re fun, and our joining in supports those marvelous people and guilds and groups who put their time and effort into creating such events for the community at large. This is in no way a case where we’re “doing nothing” when the team is presenting an entire festival for you at a time the company is also launching an expansion pack for our game.
This thread presents positive and encouraging new information, and I’d ask you to join in the spirit of the thread and not make rude, negative, or nasty comments. I mean, replying is optional, and thoughtfulness seems a simple thing to ask.
Of course there is no call for being rude or generating negativity. But that said over optimistic views can lead to disaster. For example in 2013 Anet released a time gated bimonthly content that left the Halloween event a ghost town. Since Anet centers around teamwork the Labyrinth was unplayable.
I just Love the Halloween event! Some are worried that the HOT release will over shadow an event some of us really want to play and “possibly” will be deprived of again.
I just wish HOT was released Nov 1st, but lets hope the FTP players will show up and make the Halloween event a success.
I keep hearing SW is great for gold? Can you just do the small events and chest farm or do you need to keep being taxi-ed to the big events?
So what exactly do you do to make the big gold in SW?
I actually got an xbox controller to work for GW2 when it first came out. There where simply not enough buttons. Also ground targeting while running did not work at all, you were at a massive disadvantage in PVP and WVW.
I remember when they ruined Halloween 2013 with a the bimonthly new content. No one was in Labyrinth and the rest of Halloween was a bust. WHY DO YOU DO THIS ANET!!!!!!
For that first “shortcut”, you need a teleport/blink skill. Engis don’t have that, and so that’s why they didn’t list an engi. Engi is obviously good for the “shortcut” that uses a jump shot.
That being said, I’m doubtful that “shortcut” 1 works anymore, due to the changes to teleporting (ie. needing a “clear path” to your target location). The video is a year old and was made before those changes. The one with the rifle jump might still work, but I’ve never tried it myself.
If you’re on an NA server, I could just port you to the chest, if you like.

I admit I am really bad at jump puzzles hence my question.
I wanted to park a character at the (Not So Secret) – Jump Puzzle to mine blades. I found this video showing a short cut. My questions are:
1 – Is the shortcut still working?
2 – Why is an engineer not on the list? She can use the rifle to jump and elixir B for speed. Am I missing an aspect to that jump puzzle that says the short cut is for Thief Mesmer, Ele ,and Necro?
I have to admit the first year birthday present was nice until I had 3,4,5… 19 Queen Jen minis! Then worst was when they combined the mini so every character shared it making the first year present lame after your first character received it. I was hoping they would have let you toss all the extra minis into the mystic forge for a different one.
Second year was pretty nice. unlimited buff in a very cool gun. I want that skin! Thanks for the gift!
Third year…. WOW WOW WOW ! It took me 2 hours to decided what dye I was going pick. And then all my character got the benefit of it. Kind of makes up for first year gift.

Kittens with Claws is a very small guild that has been playing EVERY night frorm 9- midnight Eastern time zone. I know every members real name and even most birthdays. We even had one wedding in RL!
We have players from a few countries, and nearly 50/50 male to female.
Our view is, a nice guild is just as good as a powerhouse one.
I thought I saw an article about converting stats of ascended rings and other trinkets, but for the life of I can not find it. Is there a way to change the stats of ascended trinkets?
There is so much to do. I suggest you find a good guild. And I mean good. I can tell you every persons name in my guild and know most birthdays. We take time to lean who you are.
My group plays every night 9-midnight. We started in the fist month GW1 started and played though GW2.
I tell you honestly it is the friends that make the game fun, more than the content.
Because 32 bit can run on 64 bit.
But 64 bit game cannot run at all on 32 bit windows.
So as long they do not need more than 2-4 GB memory, why choose the extra work of having to maintain two version of the same game.
many program have both a 32 and 64 bit option. You get to pick which one to DL.
I saw a post that says:

We have 3 that play every night, 1 that plays twice a week, and 2 that play on occasion.
Small guilds have a advantages, I know the first names of all the members, birthdays, and what is happening in their personal lives. We are all friends most of which met in GW1.
So can we have a Hall? What is the maintenance? What did they mean by " wanderers"?
The new Trait system looked confusing at first, but was not so bad once you got past the visual difference.

Buying the standard edition and upgrading to the UE to have a physical copy and the most complete package is also not possible. So I don’t know yet, truth is, there is no good substitute for the CE.

But they’ve told you, from now on, everyone who buys the expansion is going to get all the previous versions. There’s no reason for you to play the game now and protest in 3 years time. Anet was completely transparent about this.
Fare enough. And when the time comes, if new players get a better deal then the people that made them successful I will have no no problem is moving to a new game.

I’m a veteran player with the maximum amount of character slots currently available(64). Will the bonus character slot from the deluxe/ultimate pre-purchase still apply? I.E., will I be able to have 65 characters?

This is exactly my point. HoT was the reason i purchased GW2 on june 10th, knowing it was coming soon and not knowing the price nor that it was going to include the core game. Had i known that i would have waited for the expansion to come out before purchasing the game.
One ting everyone agree on is Anet botched this roll out. Very sorry got caught in it.
Worst, Anet is playing the quiet game, and not being accountable for their mistakes.
