That was a huge help. TY!!!

TY so much!!!!
I will never get to Legendary LOL
So when I finally get to L5oo Weaponsmith I am looking at 2 swords to craft. Is there anything I should be doing in the mean time beside collecting resources? So when I finally get there I can craft the weapon? Any thoughts on which will be easier/cheeper to make?
Whisperblade:
1- Eldritch Scroll
100-Mystic Coin
250-Orichalcum Sword Blade
250-Glob of Ectoplasm
Wupwup Blade
1- Deldrimor Steel Sword Blade
1-Deldrimor Steel Sword Hilt
1-Wupwup Celestial Inscription
1-Vision Crystal
Ty
I am a L444 Weaponsmith but wanted to know the cheapest way to make it to L500.
Also what about other crafting professions? Is there a website or a formula to go form L400 to 500 in the most efficient manor?
Thanks
Wait..
Are you saying I can put say Vigil armor on a Whispers character with this method? As long as I have a Vigil to buy it?
UPDATE***
Anet knew of this problem and fixed the cards so both the paper back and plastic back work.
“This was a known issue that was resolved yesterday. The fix for the 10 Digit Gem Codes has been implemented and 10 or 20 digit codes can be registered. I want you to try to enter your 10-digit Gem Code exactly as it appears on the card, with the spaces. If that does not work, please try it with no spaces.
Regards,
Leslie – Payments Team Supervisor "

I buy Gem Card, a lot of them….
Recently I had a problem with 2 cards and wanted to alert others so they do not have the same issue as me.
Look at the card if it looks like a paper back DO NOT BUY IT. The good ones have a plastic back. Also once you open the card you will notice a number set that has a pattern like:
XXX XXX XXXX
Versus the good ones with a pattern like:
XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXX
It is really too late once you see the pattern but wanted to include that for reference purposes.
I am guessing that the paper back ones are from when GW2 first came out. My local store has lots of both, and I alerted them to pull the paper ones.
As of 4 emails to ANet I have only been pushed around to different support centers with no real help except, " We are sorry you are having issues.."
So check your cards guys, so you don’t get screwed like I did.

Every class is good for PVE, so pick one that you like and have fun.
That said the Warrior is a solid choice if you have a good build (I like the Great Sword and Bow)
Though I also play a Mesmer and Necromancer build regularly with great success.
Have fun!
Thanks for the input guys
I have mixed feeling about Time Warp, is it really that valuable or how are you using it (on your self or on the monsters?)
So I am guessing the 1 second of double attacks is for a large group around a champ? Otherwise for solo or 2 players I may be at a distance the 1 sec on me is not that valuable, and monsters just run out of it if cast on them.
So what am I missing? they is this an Elite skill with very long cool down?
May be a stupid question but why pair the scepter with the torch, and the Sword with the Pistol?
Using Scepter/Pistol are both ranged, and the Sword/Torch are both close range (sword flurry then invisible to burn is great).
Just tying to see motive.
Thanks
My mistake. I though it worked like other insignia. You get the mats and apply the insignia.
Thanks for helping me under stand that. I was looking for a cheep skin for the boot. But will not work out that way since the recipe is so expensive. Looks like Ilost 5 ectro on the insignia.
Thanks all for the quick answer, and the crafting class!
Most of the Celestial recipes are bought from the trading post, not discovered. They were originally a drop during a Living Story episode, the Bazzaar of the Four Winds.
http://www.gw2spidy.com/search/Celestial%20?recipes=0
The wiki sort of says so, in a round about way. If you wiki any of them it will say recipe, not discovery. Any crafted item that says recipe means you have to buy it from someone, either an NPC or a player.
Huh? I never said was trying to craft a recipe.
I am NOT trying to craft a recipe. I crafted a Celestial Insignia and the discovery will not let me use it.
(edited by Angelica Dream.7103)
I am L400 Master tailor and crafted a Celestial Intricate Gossamer Insignia to make Celestial Exalted Boots.
I can drag my Gossamer Shoe Upper and Gossamer Shoe Sole to Discovery , but the Celestial Intricate Gossamer Insignia in not there to be selected. Even though it is in my inventory. Also I have never made one before so it is not in the Production tab.
Why can I not make these shoes?
Thanks for any help
Running the Scepter/Touch Sword/Pistol how do you keep up the pace in WVW with out the focus for speed?
thank you
Sup Torment vs Perplexity Rune my thoughts ( not tested)
To shut down confusion you do not attack. To palatially shutdown torment you do not move (even so they take damage)
Movement is vital in WvW and will be especially deadly on fleeing or charging foes where confusion does no damage.
Thanks for the great discussion
ps can I see you Glamor build?
Can you post the build please?
Thanks for all the input guys!
Here’s a guy running torment runes in a heavy condi build.
I am not sure if my torment weapon/armor idea is good or if he is just a great player. To bad he did not post his build.
When you actually BLINK you are disappointed that you are in the same place.
Your MIRROR IMAGE does not attack anyting.
FEEDBACK from your speakers does not create a purple dome.
When you MIMIC your spouse/ parents the book they toss at you is not ABSORBED
You never thought TIME WARP was form Rocky Horror Picture Show
VENGEFUL IMAGES are not what you get for forgetting your wife/BF/ GF’s birthday.
And Finally: SHARPER IMAGE is not a store.
I am looking into a feasibility of a Torment Mesmer using the synergy of:
Superior Sigil of Torment (30% on Crit to AOE Torment w/ 7 sec cool down)
Superior Rune of Tormenting:
(1): +28 Condition Damage.png Condition Damage
(2): 15% Torment.png Torment Duration
(3): +55 Condition Damage.png Condition Damage
(4): 15% Torment.png Torment Duration
(5): +100 Condition Damage.png Condition Damage
(6): 15% Torment.png Torment Duration and AoE 2 Stacks of Torment.png Torment on Heal (20s cooldown)
So the weapon would fuel a steady set of torment to armor.
Of course it would need decent Precision to kick it off and I guess Rabid Armor, Weapons, and Trinkets?
My thought is the combination of Confusion and Torment will keep the opponent unable to move or attack ( all on paper of course)
I am NOT a WvW nor a PVE player, but would like to get into it. I appreciate any constructive criticism and especially any advice to improve the idea.
Most of all I would like to know if this idea could work at all before I spend the resources to buy it. Especially since Mesmer’s are not know for condition builds.
Thanks for any input
I got the armor weapons and build. But I do have a few question about play.
I am using Sword with off hands sword/focus. Is the proper way to play you use the Skill #5’s to send out Phantasms while you sit back and apply the different fields to protect yourself from ranged attacks?
Also what are good 6,7,8,9? I was thinking Ether Feast, Null Field, Feedback, Decoy.
Thanks
What Slot Skills do you use for this build (PVE)?
..and is condition removal on the Slot Skill?
(edited by Angelica Dream.7103)
RE: "Regretably condi specs are not so great in pve, especially mesmer. "
But you missed my point. I am using the Percision to trigger the Sup Rune of Torment to get a steady stream of metronome and the Sup rune of Tormenting to extend and supercharge it.
Thanks all for the input! It was a good discussion. Can you link a great non-condition PVE/Champ build?
(edited by Angelica Dream.7103)
Mesmers have almost no skills that deal good condition damage.
@Xyonon. Your comment was based on confusion and before the condition/precision build using Sup rune of Tormenting with a sup sigal of tormenting mechanic. Though this still may not be good. Just a new idea.
Can you comment on that idea and more importantly link a really strong PVE Mesmer build?
Thanks
Looking at Rabid or Carrion armor but still working out math
It looks like the Sup Sigil of torment fires off frequently enough to make the Sup Rune of Torment work for the Mes so far in my math.
comments welcome
I was toying with the idea to setting up a condition/precision build using Sup rune of Tormenting with a sup sigal of tormenting. Thoughts?
I like condition builds and was wondering if it worked well in PVE. Any good builds? Or is condition not a good choice.
thanks
It just came to me that while Anet killed the Labyrinth with the new living world content it didn’t have to.
If the Tower of Nightmares Should would have kept with the spooky Halloween theme delivering candy corn and treat bags that would have been great!
Maybe making the Prince Thorn less grindy and possible to get.
(edited by Angelica Dream.7103)
How often does mad king says run?
Impossible grind to get it.
Nice post Skugga.
Need more men like you.
Awesome pics!
You really captured Halloween ( my favorite holiday)
I’ve participated in a half dozen attempts, all failed. And now, he sits there until his timer counts down without anyone bothering to challenge him. I don’t think the potential rewards are interesting enough to make it worth the effort of finding a server to guest on where people still do this, much less use up a precious Guild slot.
As far as I’m concerned, the event revamp was a failure. It added nothing to my game, and took away something I previously enjoyed.
Well put.
I used to enjoy it too, now I never attend.
Tower of Nightmares just came out and the Labyrinth is a ghost town, and not spooky ghosts.
Why did they over run their premier holiday event with a re-skinned Scarlet event? The candy corn grind to get the Bloody Prince Thorn mini had gotten even worst since you can not even grind for it in the labyrinth. (and I think they just make the labyrinth harder now so it is impossible since no one is there).
Where did the GW1 spirit of Halloween go?
I am guessing that the Bloody Prince mini will be lost forever if not bought during this season. I would like it, but the figure is really not worth 20 cobs. Unless we are showered with a truck load of candy corn. I think Anet over priced this mini. After all the game is “supposed” to not be a grind to get stuff.
(edited by Angelica Dream.7103)
There is no way I can earn enough Candy Corn for the Bloody Prince figure. Nor do I want to part with what little gold I have to make up the difference.
That said, to hold my candy corn till next year would take up way too much space. So here is my dilemma. If I convert it into Candy Corn Cob for next year will they even be worth anything? For all I know next year’s figure will need Candy Globs and the Cobs will be worthless.
Thoughts?

wow 40g! REALLY Anet? Sends me stack and stack of junk to charges me to get rid of it. LOL
oh well
Thanks Guys
be nice to use some last minute sprockets too
What a nice guy.
I will forward to my guild.
Rangers are pure fun. Speed and good distance
Long bow and Great Sword
LOVE my Necromancer.
too many choices to list. They are a swiss army knife of deadly fun.
Mesmers
Can really screw up groups giving them speed and all kind of fun.
But for WvW Bow/ Great sword Warriors rule.
OK my inventory is over flowing with bloodstone dust. I am L400ish in all of my crafting but it looks like recopies Bloodstone Dust are very expensive, and I do not have turn funds to buy the extra materials. Any thought on what I can do with it all?
I am afraid to just trash it as I may need to someday. Too bad we can not combine it like other materials
Thanks guys. your posts were a big help
Strange. Thief is the only class I feel really comfortable playing, .
I am going to so need a thief class from you (for real). That is my least fav because I have trouble doing well it with. I know it is wildly popular but just do so much better with every other class! LOL
So after 6 years of WOW and 2 years of SWTOR i convinced myself to buy Guild Wars 2.
Super excited to be here.Any little bit of advice if someone decides to share is appreciated.
Welcome Kaedus!
I love dodge in combat, but my best advice is don’t rush. Walk around enjoy the scenery and do not compare. This is a very different game and my favorite of any that I have ever played.
If you are in Sea of Sorrows server. send me a message and you can play with us. We are on 8:30 to midnight ever night Easter time -5
How you find the experience as fun as we do.
@Morgan – I was speaking for myself, thank you. I respect your opinion, but also think should respect mine.
@RoyalPredator great idea about the pick what parts you want. Might get me to buy those shoes or weapon
@CETheLucid the GW1 Raiment of the Litch was scary and sexy Love the scare too BTW. I am not say all should be sexy but give us one and let the buyer choose!
Astralporing. I love how GW1 did costumes skins. And especially the tailor.
Great idea but… Tequatl is too hard and not fun. I don’t even go there anymore
1 Guild Hall (as promised)
2 Free place to battle friends (makes great guild and relationship building.
3. Better female armor and town outfit. Would like to see more sexy outfits
4. an easy dungeon to do though with friends. They are too stressful and not fun.
5. Tequatl is too hard. I don’t even do that anymore. Not fun at all.
Anet should have made both the bloody prince and executioner sets as armor. They’re way too nice looking to be just worn in town.
In GW1they had skins that worked as both town clothes and armor! That was great!
So they nurf the heck out how skills in pve/pvp but let costume brawl run ramped?
