Anyway, i got more than just one ban from that topic. One for the sentence "would you show me the correct math then, please", one for... well, ban reasoning and one for questioning the matury of deleting math posts on youtube just because they show that a build was objectively bad. All in all got about 20 infractions, just from that topic. I wonder how empty the thread would have been if the reports were coming from both sides

Well, in optimal conditions (which aren’t even unlikely) 10/30/0/5/25 will be about 24% more dps than 10/30/30/0/0. Going from dps only you’d probably run 10/25/10/0/25 or 10/30/5/0/25 anyway but those are just builds that make no sense in usual circumstances, only on paper.

Just giving my experiences here. When I’m running arah, I sometimes have to pug for the last spot. And if a necro joins. First questions "You switching you class?" If Answer is "no" then they get booted.

And @Ropechec Guards bring Reflects,Aegis blocks, team stability, blinds, Perma Protection if need be, Condi removal if need be, and kittenery.

10/30/30/0/0 isn’t even that good dps. It’s just 1% more than the 25 virtues variant, assuming 4 boons only. And the moment you factor in Unscathed Contender (which actually has very high uptime for me) the "loldps" guardian is also the one with the most support.
Also, there is no content that requires master of consecrations or any other support. If you’re skilled enough you can do level 79 fractals with just necros. But it’s about effectiveness and builds (including utilities) that do not grant any support are just wasted. When everything defensivethat might help you somehow is covered, you’re better off taking an ele instead of a 10/30/30/0/0 guardian with 3 signets and save yourself.

Well, that’s where EU and NA tactics (HC aside) usually differ. You have two guardians in your fotm team, we have none, you run mesmers + guardians in normal dungeons we use either guardian or rarely mesmer.

Warrior, Ranger, Engi, Guardian and Ele, maybe?

On average probably 2 warriors, 1 guardian/mesmer, 1 ele and one random profession.
Differs a lot though, we also had runs of 4 rangers 1 engi or 4 guardians 1 mes.
We play how we want.

Yet to see this fixed, doing no reflection lupicus yesterday, fumbling 2 out of 5 dodges...

Necros may not be optimal to play, they have almost zero cleave, no movement skills, no vigor and no projectile reflection. Nevertheless i enjoy taking mine into dungeons once in a while, especially in arah path 3 or other dungeons where running has lesser priority.
Their wells are pretty cool, blind and aoe vuln come handy for trashfights

Three would be enough, at least for me.
1) Let anyone who wants to join rewrite the lfg before he can join, in order to make sure he knows what he’s joining.
2) Decline option.
3) Gear, weapon, traits (, food) check.

Although you would still let people with the right build in if they have no experience, through 1) you will filter out most IQ < 70’ers anyway.

Getting real tired of running into warriors using 5 signets. 3 signets is about as far as I would say you can go (healing signet, signet of rage, xx signet unless every utility is possibly taken (2 banners) then I would say you can have 4 signets but for the love of god ALWAYS bring For Great Justice.
Also running into less and less warriors actually using banners.

For the first moment reading it i was like “uh?”. Then i realized i really got banned.

It’s up again btw.

But... 1035 per 2.5 seconds is more than 1042 per 2.7 seconds. That would mean that GS autoattacks are stronger than sword autoattacks which definitely isn’t right, not even when you have no sword trait.

Edit: Messed up sword and LH chain durations, sword is 2.5s. But still, when adding might in (1 might is about 1.5% damage), assuming 3 stacks average (almost 5%) that would put GS over sword. There must be something wrong.

Oh. I forgot adding vuln to the 1100% comparison.
However: I’ve been talking about fighting situations i usually encounter, may it be dungeons or small scale temples. One elementalist is enough to constantly buff you might and fury and to buff you some swiftness and regeneration. Together with a mesmer or warrior or another ele you’ll have permanent swiftness, permanent regeneration and quite some uptime on protection. Then take your own utilities into account and you’re at 5-6 boons on average, in a party of three.

Binding Blades is the strongest skill the guardian has, given more than one enemie to fight.

Everything is an exploit nowadays.

In my opinion using builds with AH like paladin 2.5 is just limiting yourself on purpose. Imagine you had the choice of weapon, armor and technic when fencing.
The weapon is the weapon, the armor are your clothes and the build is your technic but you could only chose to use an offensive weapon or defensive armor, not both at the same time.
Silentstorms choices would be a (dry) floating noodle as weapon, thick leather armor and constantly pointing his other arm into the air as technic.

I forgot Aegis! 10/25/0/10/25 is even better!

However, when you only care for dps the build you’d choose would be 10/30/5/0/25.

Also, even in solo play you have about 4 boons on average. Don’t trust me? Watch out for my 5:18 guardian lupicus solo.

Please quote me/us on that. But i agree, i’ve been saying that good players do not use AH when being serious. Obviously, being "good" isn’t defined but i’m just using it in a way like i’d do in other sports. A table-tennis player seriously using a soup ladle for a tournament does not have basic "game" understanding. And Silentstorm is like a table tennis player claiming his soup ladle is better for this game than worlds most efficient rable tennis bats.

How would you call a table tennis player doing so, especially when he’s offending you in any singe sentece he makes?

It’s a ’Dub’ number. You have to divide it by 100 then multiply by pi.

You finally found the encryption formula.

Anyway, 100g alone on Food (100Prec/Power + 10% Crit).
50g per character equipment (armor, trinkets, weapons). One Warrior, Necro, Ranger, Engineer, Thief exist because of Lupicus. Also 80g per character for crafting.
Three ascended weapons (~120g each). 250g for weaponsmith to 500.
Repair costs, practising time. kittened stuff like our play how we want lupi (guardian+ele with clerics and knights and condition set on ele) with about 150g total.
Condition set for second warrior, new equipment about 50g again. Condition stuff on thief for 25g (karma armor).
~50g on other consumables. Some gold for build changes. 290g for reaching him faster.
Buying a full set of Corrupted Weapons (for a lupi solo video) and to be exact even my twilight was mainly because of Twilight Lupi solo.
Oh. Also other ascended trinkets. 50 fractal runs bought for 7-8g on average.

Staff is useful in pretty much ever dungeon, be it for skips and chaos storm only.
Since Sword/Focus is pretty much always enough in fights anyway, you can even permanently have it in your second slot.

You should ask SynSity how much gold he spent on weapons and sigils (and repairs) just for soloing Lupi.

He might be the only one to compete with me. And i spent over 1500g on Lupicus.

Tequatl doesn’t scale and open world stuff is usually much better designed than dungeon stuff.

Wasn’t the greatsword autoattack like 3.0 seconds whereas the 1h sword auto attack is 2.7 seconds? Also, doing ingame tests on lupi (not the most accurate but i had more attempts there than anywhere else) and bloodstone shard are telling me: GS rotation without swapping to sword is a rather huge dps loss, even in solo. Whirling wrath seems to hit 9 times on average when in melee range but not moving (tested on bloodstone shard). Sword autoattacks only are not as good as a rotation of gs+sword but better than a pure gs rotation. Binding Blades and Leap of faith are a dps increase, taking 3 stacks of blind into account.

What i don’t know yet: the most optimal rotation. Even though it seems like gs 2, 4, 3, 5, 111, 2, swap, autoattacks for 4 chains + one ray of judgement or 5 auto chains and swapping back.

I’m sometimes completely unable to move instead of walking slow.

Honestly those 20 points in valor are probably ahead in pure dps by a few percent, but they’re totally selfish.

0.1% more dps than putting those into virtues, assuming 4 boons. Swiftness, might, fury and vigor are permanent, regeneration and retaliation usually have high uptime and protection/stability come in ocassional. 10/30/5/0/25 is probably the highest dps you can get, if chosing 5 in honor, any point in valor is just wasted. And however, assuming 5 boons 10/25/0/10/25 is already more dps than 10/30/30/0/0.

However, fighting lupicus at a wall has nothing to do with exploiting. You can also go under him without wall, achieving same result.

The only tip i will give you is to use both, energy sigil and greatsword.
Energy sigil on axe or sword makes it much easier to survive, even without bursting.
Greatsword because it adds like 30% (?) dps and you get Whirlwind Attack which is just too good to not have.

Eles have the strongest (self-, too) buffs, possibility to take care of all required conditions (burning, vulnerability) and high sustained damage combined with incredible burst for the first 120 seconds. If they are something, then too strong. All that just requires a lot more effort and better gameplay than a warrior. Won’t even speak of guardians, whoever played one yet knows that their self buffing sucks much. Not even going to deal half the damage of an ele forgetting about might/fury buffs.

First off, thats not your 2.5 build. Second, you’re using a website with unknown maths, rather use one of the spreadsheets around. Third, you somehow managed to add food and scholar runes.

Thing is, when you start learning with 0/0/30/30/10’ish traits and clerics gear, you won’t have much reason to learn how to play vs different encounters. You’ll just facetank everything and don’t even spend a thought on dodging. On the other side, if you start with a 100% defenseless build you’ll faceplant 10-20 times until you start to realize you can evade stuff and survive. And even in those 10-20 attempts where you faceplanted you’ll be much more useful than someone in clerics gear surviving the whole fight.

Just did a quick calculation where i compared my usual (not maximum damage 10/25/0/10/25) build with “suboptimal” food/stacking sigil (solo lupi setup) to the one he linked in this thread.
Result: I deal 264% of his damage, assuming he camps greatsword and uses all skills on cooldown in a solo setting and still 210% of his damage in a group setting.
While, as a sidenote, supporting much more than him.
Just for science, when i take our usual circumstances into account i’d deal over 520% of his damage. Again, while supporting way more than his build allows him to.

Assuming he plays like in the jade maw video i’d deal 772,78% more damage.
