Oh and correct me if I am wrong but my friend told me if he stealths as a thief, the AoE knockbacks guardians have do not interrupt him.
guardian kd hit also stealthed thieves.
every AOE will hit the stealthed thief.. the only option how tis could happend is that the thief had Aegis on him or the guardian had blind on him
would like to know as well.. where is the blog post?
sorry i know you have lot of work but im not enjoying anything else except of PvP. and since im not facing opponents that are same level as im – then im getting bored..

The rest is more or less used in my team.
Still i see stability much more easier to use, and in combination with Guardians much more powerfull.

Yes, i know other abilities that can guarantee you a stomp or at least make your chances “higher”.
But they have their counterpart.
Thief finishing from stealth? = use your AOE knocback
Blinding your enemy and then ressing your teammate? = blind is “next attack” so just one autotatack and then hit your interupt. Or cleanse the blind
There is only few ablilities that doesnt have counterpart – like ele´s mist form. But thats once per 90 sec? With that hudge CD its not even comparable to stability.
Yes, i can strip stability – because it is boon! But count it – howmany skills do we have in game that are REMOVING boons? 4-5? Only on specific classes. And if you do it that way you still need to remove boon first and after land your interupt.
So at this point – im only saying that due to the important nature of stability and easy access that Guardian has to it (no other class can even think about stability with 30 sec CD) and with combination with their others defensive ability.. its going to be a must have class and preferably 2x in team.

Agreed. Stability is too scarce. Or too powerful. Either way…
Its sooo important to have it and only soo small access for classes that are not guardian.
For example Mesmer can have mantra but only 2 sec stability.. Elementalist can have stability traited (its actually grandmaster trait) and only 2 sec after attuning to earth.

First, why do you need stability in your team?
- It helps you to finish your opponent in downed state (only mesmer and thief are then able to defend others will be stomped without interrupts if you have it)
- It helps you to ressurect your teammates. Well.. simply you can´t be interupted while ressurecting.
Since one of the biggest mechanic in combat is the downed mode and the ability of FINISH and REVIVE your enemy or your teammate – then stability is “must have” skill in any situation. Actually using it for this 2 reasons is actually the best you can do.
Now why we see 2+ guardians teams? Because they can easily chain stability with “Stand Your Ground!” shout. While traited its 24 second recharge? Wow.. so you can have it pretty much every stomp attemt or every revive attemt as long as you have 2 guardians in your team.
And now lets compare it to other skills:

See? nothing. No other class has AOE stability with so short cooldown then guardians. This making Guardians a must have and with combination of their defensive abilities they will be shortly in every tPvP match.
I believe stability should be a bit checked by ArenaNet and in my point of view “Stand Your Ground!” should get a small nerf (maybe only making it so the stability is going only for guardian with longer CD), while other classes should also have access to this ability.

this is one of the hardest parts of the learning curve in my opinion. some builds really do make alot of summoned minions and being able to target the player in the middle of all that mess requires practice.
In some cases its impossible at all i believe. For example to recognize a mesmer in team fight between his illusions and other classes pets could be a very hard job. And then he just decoy or blink .. making it once again out of your target.
Agree there is too much of NPC´s in structured PvP.

8v8 is too much for these small maps. 5v5 is much better and could be in my opinion also great format for hot-joins as well..
I believe it will be implemented as there is lot of feedback from players that are looking for it.
Well even with gvg type balance, if you played gw1, you would know assassins were always (when with the right builds) fast spikers. They always have been able to kill very fast. However, one block or interrupt could really screw up their chain. It really made the sins have to play around stuff. There just seems to be much more depth to gw1 combat that it’s insane.
I kinda miss the concept of Assassins from GW1 and compared to Thiefs in GW2. As assassin in GW1 you were supposed to rotate skills in combos on your skillbar where one skill followed other. In GW2 Thiefs are just 2-3 buttoms spamming and to be honest i would do it to.. if the game will allow it and other skills are crap compared to the ONE.
Also Assassins in GW1 had no stealth which i think there is too many stealth in GW2. They were using only strong teleports / shadowsteps which was an awesome mechanic allowing to the assassin a moment of supprise attack (which is basically the point) and not hurting the game by stealth at all..
I think people just stopped playing for a while or the initual BOOM just finished. Of course for some people its the game not working as they were expecting. But for a lot of sPvP players this game is the best on current market. The only remaining issue is we do not have matchmaking system and e-sport scene. Therefore some of the teams said its better to stop playing at all or they go to PVE and just wating for ladder and matchmaking to be implemented.

My Warrior is my main.. Hes Sword+board/Rifle… Heavy heavy Bleed/control/rifle build… My build is very solid and a slight modification of some really strong builds I saw.
My PvP background is very deep gank group history in DAoC.. WAR.. SWTOR.. mostly DAOC..
Moraine – What condition is going to stop them from going into stealth and Finishing me or my downed team mate automatically?

good work man, i trully agree with almost everything you said.
So basically we need a fix for that soon
1) for portals could be that all skills should be reset at the start
2) For Treb shots – obviously it should reset position and of course projectiles that are “flying” during reset.
So basically there are probably some exploits on Khylo maps that are starting to be more and more visible and used.
1) Trebuchet shot. If you shot before the game start. Little bit earlier before you get teleported to your respawn position – the shot you had will still land after reset. This will mean you got one additional shot from Treb and this one will likely destroy the building walls giving you first shot advantage and when the map start, your first hit will get immediatelly to target area.
2) Yesterday i had a fight with Easy Mode guild who obviously like to exploit. And when the game started they somehow teleported 2 members immediatelly to our Trebuchet. In fact they were there faster then my team with swiftness buff. Im not really sure how they dit it. But i guess they used portal? Likely same like with the Treb shot, if you place your portal entry little bit earlier before game send you to respawn area. you can still place second part or the portal and that way go immeditely to enemy treb?
Can someone confirm / decline this. If im right and portal is bugged this way – when we will se a fix?

But please keep in mind there is more levels of play and more different gamesr. while some still feel they need time, the hardcore ones allready killing every team they meat and they dont feel any competition or resistance.
In my opinion, we dont need e-sport immediatelly, but we need competition and matchmaking in order to get opponents of same level. Only this can make the game challenging and only from these games you can learn and improve your general gameplay or team tactic.
At this moment a lot of organized teams can´t improve.. as they are allready wining almost everything. I played whole night yesterday and i had one fight that was “challenging”. Rest just easy victory with like 200+ advantage.
/resign should be also an option..

Mesmers are not that hard to kill. You just dont know how.. and the best you can do actually is play one.. then you will have clear overview what skills are illusions and where your real oponent is.
Back in betaevents it was far away from balanced state due to high ammount of points awarded. Now you get 25 points. Still worth of effort, still worth of trying to steal.
I pretty much like the mechanic as it is. If you are solo and trying to get the kill.. then chances are pretty high that there will be a steal try. If you have 2 gyus there.. you however have options to defend your kill.. And its up to your team to let you know if enemy is going your direction.. so you know even in advance before he get to range.
So at this point.. there is lot of strategy involved, lot of risk, rewad that is worth to go for.

There is no way to balance this. Im actually tired of 2thief and 3 guardians setup. But.. even after some nerf there will be different setups that will be “on top” so.. at this point.. live with it and adapt. If you dont, then after balance patch notes you will have probably 1-2 week before the new meta will settle ant then you will be tiered of something else..

I believe its due to nature of Conquest. You dont need to kill.. – kill is only 5 points while holding objective for 10 second will reward you for 5 points as well.
So question.. will you be focusing to get kills and on top of that control of objective, or will you be just focusing your strategy arrount point holding? If you do the second.. then.. guess what… you can easily manage to get lot of points
Any sort of 5 defensive characters its simply hard to beat. Due to their nature of amount CC they can kick you out of point or hold point against 2 people.
Guardians have it even easier and with 5 x stability you never get CCed = never can be killed.
@Aragiel that`s so true , my feelings exactly this is why I stopped doing the rest and just focus on sPvP and tpvp we should at least have an option to roam into pve towns with our gear it`s not fair that pve players can roam in wvw and we cannot bring our gear there.
i trully liked GW1 connection between PvP and PVE true Zaishen Keys.. even they were a bit too much if you ask me. But that was caused by economy and how desperatelly players wanted them.
For a PvP oriented player.. Zaishen key was a key to get cool PVE stuff on your character.
seriously be patient things actually take time to be tested and implemented. Especially since they have noted many of our suggestions and have been implementing them.
I just can´t be patient anymore. I was waiting for years, only hearing “when its ready” now “its ready” and there is missing the main part. The only reason i was buying the game at all. The reason i was organizing comunity and prepared launch of tournaments for this community.
Now i just feel cheated as there is not what was prommised and till now there is no ETA when it will be there. Well, i guess its my fault at all.. i had this strange feeling about it when no official information about the 5v5 tournaments / ladder / custom tournaments wasn´t relased before relase annoucement.
Dont get me wrong, i have a great time in game, i really really like the game. But it doesnt mean nothing as long as im not getting competition.. sorry but thats the reason i play..

there is no possibility Arena can be balanced without affecting 5v5 tournaments. Therefore im sorry but NO arenas.
Every class is good at some roles, therefore arenas would just make it “more visible” and more hated for nerfs..
the only issue is that sPvP players are SEPARATED by system from others. Our rewards are visible only in Mists, our income is 0. Our kamra income is 0.
At this point there is simply lot of great things. But why should be players totaly separated from others? Why i do not have option to progress on more fronts? If i like sPvP does this mean i can´t ever see the dungeons or help to my server in WvW while not being punished for playing mostly sPvP?
Current state is – i can do everything. But since i spend 80% in sPvP – im far far behind others in WvW. Yes there is booster so everyone is lvl 80, but im missing traits, gear. Same for PVE. I can do it but my time spend in the game doesnt help me in any way and i always will be behind. Well.. i think noone is asking to be instanly lvl 80.. but i would like to have option to go with my character and buy something on AH for example.. etc..
They’re taking care of their bigger customers at the moment (PvE and WvW players)
We are just going to have to wait
Im sorry, while i can agree with that and try to be patient.. . i think i can´t do that. I was waiting for many years for “when its ready” and there is a lot of promisses https://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/pvp/ that are simply not in game. So at this point all Im asking is to know when these promisses will be in game. Just an information.. nothing more..

The most annoying thing about this game is the not having the above.
I only play 2 professions atm and I have 6 char slots. So I have 3 Warriors with different builds and gear set-ups that I can switch between on the fly. As well as 3 Necromancers which I also do the same with.
Although this is fine for me, it is annoying and a hassle for those who may play 4-5 different professions.
So implement the Trait/Build Saving System as well as Equipment.
If Guild Wars 1 had it, why not this game?
I was asking for this few times allready. It was great back in GW1… and yeah.. i would like to see it as well in GW2 as soon as possible.

Because they do have their role. Because they can kill people.. and because people still running gimicky HB spec it doesnt mean there are no other builds.
I dont like it at all. It decrease the need of these sets. If you want to have swiftness then stick to this weapon.
Now everyone has this which is eliminating “advantages of proffesions that should be highly mobile”.
I would like to see swifntess as part of team strategy, not something what you do automatically when you are out of combat.
add a stun breaker to your utility skill.. preferably with low CD.. it will highly increase your chances to figh against.
i would want a feature that enables guilds to hold their own prized tourney matches in rentable private servers (custom tournaments) and invite the best guilds in game for the ultimate test of skill than a ladder that rewards farming and no life gaming.
I would expect that community based spvp guilds like team legacy and team paradigm to host these events.
Not only guilds but some of the fansites can do that too. I have prepared allready a whole system for leagues / tournaments. The only thing Im missing right now is … wow.. the game where i can realize it

My experience so far has been this:
-World A starts beating World B and World C badly.
-World C organizes a push
-World B sees World C organizing a push
-World B attacks World C while they are distracted
co basically world B and C getting themselfs even weaker and world A has easy work.. to beat them both..
well, people will need time to learn. Thats for sure

No one really bothers most of the time to see what server that red named person is from.

Soo.. when you two will beat the other server, what comes next? You will decide who will be at first place playing rock-paper-scissors?
Man up and take victory with your own claws and teeths, not by making alliance with weaker server just to grow another enemy.
No, you just simply adapt to new scenario and act by that.
And yes, theorycrafting is a nice thing but i really feel big guilds and alliances do have power to change it that way and have profit and in fact more challenging fight then.
Of course it will take some time but sooner you realize this is the way to work the sooner also PUGS and RANDOMS who are a big part of this PvP too will realize it as well. At the end, organized groups do the difference so its just up to you guys.. randoms will only follow you as always

well, you of course can´t check and speak to all people on one server. But if the majority and organized groups start to use this – then the remaining solo players will have to adapt as well.
but maybe it just need time. People are now like animals.. looking for whatever they can take in game
People are naturally whining and blaiming each other in every community. In MMO community its even more visible due to the annonymity of internet. You are just nickname and thats it.
But regarding of what is great?
Lot of.
1) PvP based on skill – not gear and level
2) active combat (i really like it)
3) great maps designs (i really love the 3 maps in tournament even i think capricon is a peace of crap)
4) balance – even there is still a lot of work, this initial balance is far the best i have seen in new MMO´s for years.
Futermore im looking for adding ladder and custom tournaments. Then the game will be almost perfect
Im not really best one when it comes to WvW, i mostly only play in small scalle groups (5-10 man groups if you want) but what suprised me on these forums is how do people think here.
Example:
We are on server A against B and C. C is having everything and A and B is therefore loosing.
Well, start to think. you are in 3 factions game. This is how the game should work. If one server is dominating – the other two should attack this one instead of fighting each other. Dont you see it? By attacking weak server you actually maybe get new keep from them but will have to start all upgrades again, giving great oportunity once again to the strongest server in your pairing.
What you should do as an organized team if server C is dominating then you as server A should just ignore all the points capped by server B and only focus on points that are maintaned by you (defend what you have) and attack only server C. That way till you somehow cath the score and then the situation can evolve.
Stop playing zergy game.. use your brains
I agree with some points. Mainly with
- Mesmers are OP as long as you dont know the skill animatins / mechanic. Playing a mesmer highly improved my statistic against them. Now i know what is illusion and what are mesmer options. With this knowelage i can fight them with no problems.
- Mesmers will probably be out of metagame once people get to know how to counter it and will recognize the animations. On higher level of play there are better classes.

After playing tournaments i have some ideas how to improve them and what could be interesting. Maybe im wrong as these are my personal opinions but feel free to discuss or add your own..
just make this topic to be informative so Anet can take some value from it.
So my points.
1) Split Full groups teams and solo or uncomplete teams. The point here is that as a full group first map is alway (or 90%) against randoms. Not fun for guild group as for them it is too easy. Not fun for random guys as they are going to be smashed by fully organized group. So while queing tournaments as solo player is a good idea, it would be better if the opponents are also solo players matched up together.
2) Decrease the waiting times. It is totaly annoying to wait few minutes for upcoming match and then almost 5 minutes to “get ready”. Common people should be ready since they enter. On top of that i have seen competetive teams allready abussing this and switching characters based on enemy composition. I have nothing against switching characters based on map. So you have different strategies for each map. But im definitelly against switching characters when you allready enter the game (or your teammate). Any character changes should be disalowed from the moment one of the team members enter the tournament.
3) Do not allow any switching of weapons / builds. So simple. Right now everyone is switching weapons for “swiftness buff” out of combat. Not only on begining of the match but all the time during the match.
Sometimes i have seen also weapon switch. So in general i would sugesst that there is NO CHANGE AT ALL in build / weapon sets allowed from the moment one of team members enter the Tournaments. Why from one person? because otherwise this one guy will tell to others who are waiting in lobby and still able to switch.
Or second option just make the button “im ready” in the lobby and when boths teams are ready, then let allow them to enter the map and finally see opponents composition.
in my point of view this could improve tournaments alot
