And i mean do this.. like 2-3 times a week… so far communication is really far away from what it should be at this state of the game. People are leaving.. the ones who are staying needs some reasons to stay..

This sounds pretty awesome tbh, I think anet should get back to its roots. Most people have had enough of the failed experiment that is gw2.

People will always blame any system. True is that even arround HA and GvG there were lot of QQ posts, lots of discussions.

But it worked still well, GW1 created the best PvP comunity in any MMO i have seen so far and that was an amazing job.

I general, i think there is a lot of players that wants to go to sPvP but they dont, because then they feel they stopped to progress in their level. And thats not good.

while i agree PVE and PVP should be separated – it is in terms of items / gear / etc.. but XP? XP are fine. BOht groups of player can find them usefull and at the end it will only help to MAJORITY of players who wants to do everything from time to time.
- if i take myself as example. I spend 80% in sPvP but then i want sometimes to do WvW and also PVE. Now i feel penalitized for being in sPVP soo much and my character is only low level and therefore i have less chances to fight equally in WvW for same time i spend ingame as others who only PVE or only WvW.

Down state concept needs revision

i starting to believe that downed state should not have abilities that do DMG. Instead it should be only support / heal / interupt / escape. Whatever.. but since the game is 1v1 and 2v2 oriented its so shame that some fights are simply too bad because once you got your enemy to downed state, he will win.. because he can do more dmg than you in downed.

why some classes can do over 1000 dmg is behind me.. when in downed..

I’d like to not see this happen because the promise of PVE rewards will attract that kind of PVE player that couldn’t care less about PVPing and is in it just for the rewards. This would inject a dose of ill-minded players into an already decaying PVP community.

Imo PVP and PVE need to stay separated, like if they were 2 totally different games.

nope, we are on same boat here.. and for esport higher audiece is needed.. and thats not comming from PVP community.. PVE´rs will watch it … so why not involve them? If they can have fun as well?
And please, dont forget majority of players is playing both ! PVE and PVP.. they dont strictly select only one gamemode..

good point, XP could atract more PVE players into PVP.. but first Anet need to solve matchmaking and premade / pug queue. Otherwise you go will get mad very soon by fighting hardcore PvPers without any chances on fair match.

I never played GW1, but this sounds freaking amazing.

It was ! And actually this wasn´t the competitive part.

I played HA just for fun with my guildmates, while we always saw it as “fun mode” for us. But the true is.. even this non competitive part was great. You had the feeling of acomplishment. You got the feeling of reward when you won Hall of heroes. And you get toons of whispers when you did from people you dont know – because they have seen the message “Guild Team XXX won Hall of Heroes granting favor to.. bla bla bla”

And now.. lets talk about GvG!

So complex, so intensive, so strategy and team play involved. Yes it was hard to get in and to understeand it properly.

But if i compare it to GW2 how easy was to jump to GW1 gvg and how easy is to jump to GW2 tournaments.. i think GW1 had much better accesibility for newcomers. In fact they always had a chance ! where in GW2.. they all geting punished for playing.

Whats still going behind me.. is how ArenaNet destroyed all the great part of their unique PvP system that was so sucessfull and globaly PvPers loved it for what it was. And they just turned it into … wel.. into nothing..

Its a shame. GW1 was 10x better PvP experience than GW2.
Now lets get this fixed ArenaNet, can you?? please. You have the game, you have the tools. Just implement what is needed.. and what should be here from start. Yes, Im talking matchmaking / ladder

GW2 has like 200-300 viewers on TWITCH what a shame for new game 3 months after relase, noone is interested and out of it.. there are like 2-3 PvP streams only.

Its a good idea with chest and key´s.

but i dont agree with the items…. anything what is actually in game – like

- all kind of boosters (even pvpers can then resell on AH to PVErs)
- black lion box + key
- miniatures (some very rare – like ghostly hero in GW1)
- transmutation tonics
- fireworks (these are not in game yet, but can be added)
- special amors design obtainable only as drop from black lion chest
etc..

The main complaint I hear about this is: “But then the teams won’t have anyone to play against.” LOL
Why is that? Because of the low population in PvP.
Why is there a low population in PvP?
Because new players don’t like to stick around very long.
Why don’t many new players like to stick around in PvP?
Because they are getting STOMPED by PvP teams.

If there were more people in general in the game, eventually there would be more teams and eventually there would be better tournaments.

Anet is putting the cart before the horse and because of that, they are killing their game.

5WHY havent seen that method used out of my work, but hey.. its a good one how to find a root cause.

im pretty sure they do have tools to meassure population, count howmanygames / tournaments the game run etc.. those are probably easy to get DATA they have available and we still dont see some FAST and direct adjustment to our issues?

2 things that will help

1) balance entry fee and rewards of PAID tournaments. If this is done properly, almost all premades will move (and they will be happy for it) to paid tournaments. Gem lotery is flustrating. IF ArenaNet has problem with GEM distribution.. then just skip the GEMS! most of us dont need them, give us tournament ticket instead and keep GEM reward only for first place.. BUT we need to get tickets to play paids.. so it has to be balanced again and properly this time. THIS COULD BE DONE WITHIN A DAY ! no programing is needed.. just adjust the values.

2) implement matchmaking. As soon as possible this game need players fighting players of same or similar skill level. Fighting hardcore team is not fun, fighging casual players as hardcore is not fun either. This of course need serious programing and time to implement. But any other activity doesnt make any sense without matchmaking. You will see even balance in different way if you fight equally skilled opponents

and? the mark will help you to recognize him in betwen his clones. if he phase retreat / blink / decoy.. then these are visible animations. Especiatelly phase retreat is so simple.. you just need to see it and then go for real mesme.

im really playing a mesmer for a long time to be pretty much sure in every situation i fight other mesmer.. and if i can recognize it.. then everyone can.

well.. its true GEM´s are probably hidden reason we can´t see or know. But since last update and introduction of “gem lotery” in PvP.. i started to believe in this.. The first idea was great…. but with addition of the lotery instead of properly balancing the entry fee vs rewards.. i trully started to believe that at this point Anet made the mistake of taken easy fast win which will ruin the game for future.

hey.. do you remember Guild Wars 2? You mean the game where you can get killed if you pay for it? yes.. i remember in order to make sure dont install it twice.
im loosing my hopes in good PvP every day.. ..

its very easy to identify a mesmer.. there are some easy tools how to recognize it

1) knowelage – you need to know how mesmers skills works
2) mark – just mark your mesmer and keep him targeted.
3) blink / decoy are easily recognised
4) clones never kite even they dont move (they attack you only). So the one who is moving.. is the mesmer
5) clones never dodgeroll
6) keep an eye on what weapon mesmer is using against you (staff = phase retreat, sword = swap, greatsword = bouncing attack). When you know what weapon is against you, you basically know when he create clone

.. play a mesmer for 1-2 week. Then you recognize 90% very fast where is your mesmer.

Point noted and added to the very large wall that creates the barrier to entry. But within this particular game, how would connect the pve and structured pvp? Some of the gear you simply cannot utilize for balance reasons.

GOLD.. ingame money.. its a good currency that is valuable for PVER´s, can be used for PvPer. In fact gems do that for you – the problem is they are not easily obtainable which leads to why? because they also source of money for ArenaNet.
Another ideas could be “Zkeys” from GW1. Simply reward of key. There is lot of boxes (not sure of the name) you get as random drop in PVE.. but key´s are not easy to get or are too rare (got 50 box drops and only like 5 keys). So what if one of reward would be this nice key? then you have something PVErs want..
there are options.. of course …

the “reloaded” version of the bug is here since Lost Shore. Previously it has been here but it was fixed within 2 days..

so yea, 1-2 month is lie but now its like 10 days and extremly annoying… would say even gamebreaking

Hmm I don’t know maybe it’s just the times you’re queuing up. Been doing paids for a couple of hours this evening and I haven’t waited longer than 2 minutes for the queue to pop. In fact it has been faster queuing than free tourney’s

I do not think these are TOP3.

Actually top 3 issues for sPVP for me

1) missing matchmaking
2) missing matchmaking
3) missing matchmaking

… long time nothing

4) any other issues

But anywy i must admid you made a good summary of downed state and how unbalanced it is.
Also you should mention that some clasess are able to kill you in downed mode faster. Like a warrior or Thief hitting you for big ammount, mesmer with his Rogue ilusion etc. Sometimes in close 1v1 or even 2v1 you can´t finish your opponent due to that. In fact i can live with it if its 2v1 but in 1v1 situation.. if i downed my opponent and im low health.. i shouldnt be forced to hide myself till i have my healskill on CD again. So many close fights i have lost just because i downed my opponent first.. a then he used 3 times autoattack (3-4k HP down.. ).

When this will be fixed? Its a gamebreaking bug thats trully annoing and offten a reason to LOSE games in tPvP.

it has been a week allready.. give us FIX please.

Why do we even need to see LOADING screen when there is nothing to load? Map and everything was loaded at first entry.. if i die – i only need to respawn.. – no need for loading screen at all.

paids are great. I would like to play them as much as possible.

but

- im not here to wait in queue. So if there is no pop in like 5-10 min = im out. Even 10 min waiting is bad enough.
- lot of competitive teams can´t participate due to the fact they are not as good to defeat the best teams outthere. Basically you can win first and second round but thats only a small victory. if you dont win in paid you loose your tickets. or you only win a small ammount back that will not pay you the entry fee. Right now there is like 5 teams? who are able to win 1 or seconc place constantly. Other 6 teams are loosing tickets.. pretty easy
- gem lottery is a bad idea. it promotes random luck instead of rewards that are needed for additional entry.
- GEM´s are probably problem. WHile areananet probably wants to make some money out of it.. all rewards are GEMS. I dont care about gems to be hones. Im a PvP player. I dont care about anything expect to fight and to have good games. My reward is VICTORY or match that is worth to remember. But im a minority.. not that many is thinking this way.. and people love rewards. So here you go.. thats what you wanted.. rewards (thats are not rewarding)

Graveyard or Spawn camping

Reason why people are able to camp your respawn point is simple. There is a hudge gap in between skill of both teams. If one team is able to secure all 3 points and then go for respawn camping – then it means they are soo much stronger then you.

So its not a design issue at this point. Its just that we are missing matchmaking. I offten see this happening when we go free tournaments – and expeciatelly in first or second round you meet PUG´s. Then you can basically roflstomp them very easily. Its a bad thing for the game (thats for sure) but the only way how to stop it – is to implement matchmaking. you will never ever have a chance to fight at respawn or try to camp it if your opponent is equally skilled as you are.

The number 1 prio should be the ranking system with matchmaking, without this they loose more and more player day after day. Not enough that tpvp is pointless now but without ranking system its not even fun when we need to fight against teams what beats Team Paradigm too.

REst of game is fine and playable.. the fact that you even have very easy wins or no chance to win at all make the game looks like in bad shape.. but thats not true.

I’m just wondering what was wrong with GW1 style? I mean yeah it is more work because you would have about triple the work you do now on skills, but it made players have to think what to put on their bars because they could only use a number of skills. Now you just learn the skills of the weapon when you kill enemies with it. Again not complaining, just wondering why if anyone knows.

Well, I will never stop saying that GW1 was the best PVP game i have ever played and one of reasons is due to choices you did with your class.

But to your question, i remember an interview where one of the devs said that the reason behind is also (not the only reason) that GW1 players were using bad builds and therefore newcomers had bad times to find “good” combination, and they offten lost games due to that. They wanted to make sure at least 5 skills on skilbar does have good synergy and are usable (well, i guess they failed at this point hardly, because most weapons have at least one or two crappy skills.. )

Since with my friends we have organized duels in our community i have quite some experience with “infinite” duels. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/pvp/pvp/DUEL-Arena-1-tournament/

And yes, its looks like some classes do have an edge on others but it can be handled.

here simply what rulez we are using for our tournament format

1) All stacking sigils are out of dueling
2) no elites
3) duel end by sucessfull finishing of oponent
4) duel limit is set to 3 minutes. If for some reasons noone died – then in additional 2 min of fight healing skill can´t be used !. This pretty much make sure some builds can´t survive. as you simply need from time to time your healskill and regen is not enough.

and it worked quite well. One of longest games was necro vs ele and it took quite time but if they can´t use their heal skill, its going to the point whre one of them will fall.
Also i have seen some duels where rangers had very easy job against those elementalist, and some egnineers killed guardians so quickly.. that they event didnt realized what killed them.

So infinite duels are of course possible, but can be dealt with. From what i have seen so far, good duel class are Rangers and necromancers.

In our community we have another 1v1 event comming today. So if you are interested here is whats going on.

DUEL ARENA
- Duel arena will start today (Thursday 22.11.2012) at 19:00 european timezone
- 8 players single elimination tournament
- all matches are going to be BO3 (best of 3)
- time limit for duel is 3 minutes, when noone die then we play for another 2 minutes but without healing skill.
- all “stacking sigils” are out of tournaments (they can´t be used by players)

I have only done two paid tournies so far (my team is rank 22-32 and we do not consider ourselves “pro”). Both times we faced r40+ teams and lost. Having that said, we didn’t do bad the last time but the experience/skill level was just too big. Playing tournies really is a pain without a ladder. Because in free tournies we are actually winning a lot. So our team is kinda inbetween atm.. It’s weird and annoying.

There is actually more guild in “between”. They all want to fight organized premades, but they can´t because of the limited access and skill gap.

Thats direct result of paid being so expensive / not enough rewarding tickets wise. maybe 15-20% of teams can play PAID while majority is forced to play FREE.
ANd once again – i have nothing against it i will be gladly playing FREE as long as im not fighing newcomers or not organized groups. And thats the case righ now.. i can fight in PAID but mostly i have to go to free and stomp newcommers + unorganized teams. Thats not fun for me. Most games in FREE im winning with 300+ point difference sometimes even 500:0. Not nice..

Thats why ranked/rating matchmaking with free entry fee can solve it. Decent player matched with decent player, newcomer matched with newcomer. I think there is no need to have 2 different tournament, free and paid, just 1 matchmaking system is enough to solve many problem, and for all kind of player(except for those who want easy win).

What? they are planning for price tournament? I am very sure no one will play it. Please don’t waste time on it.

Thats actually true. I can imagine if people actually play FREE tournaments for rank (matchmaking / ELO rating etc) and they are properly matched – then its totaly fine. While PAID should then be used for example for monthly tournaments. Then it does make sense !!

We actually need only one tournament queue + working mathcmaking = sucess for all. Best will be matched with best or those who are close to be best.

@Phira.3970 i see what you mean now. Ok then in HA it took really long to find a group without being in HA oriented guild or with many friends. But if you spend so much time by just spaming “LFG” you should invest this time to find casual pvp oriented guild. There are more than only hardcore guilds outthere.

In the original design from Anet, hot-join are for pug/casual, thats why u can never queue in premade. Free tournament are for non-competitve premade, but pug are also welcome. Paid tournament should be for competitive premade. Correct me if I am wrong.

Depending on design, if this is true – then the system is working well. What i understeand was that Free should be for noncompetitive players. But the main what i see is that many guilds thats find themself to be competitive doesnt feel they are able to fight in PAID and they are forced to go FREE instead which is not fun for them.

I agree with you that mathcmaking would help, im actually saying that matchmaking is so strongly needed for us that it should be priority nr. 1

Heroes Ascent in GW1 had serious waits that went from 20 minutes to even hours. I know my guild took almost three hours sometimes just to properly set up a team. Did that stop people from doing it? Nope. Even then, it remained popular. Why? Actually I don’t want to type another essay right now -_-/.

never ever remember any waiting time in HA – and i spend quite a time there. At least not in prime time.

There are however steps that could help the game very fast and in fact are only “small adjustments”

As i said in my previous post.. you made nice summarry and your solutions are pretty much nice and i would really love them in game.

However ArenaNet was going different patch by tournaments and since these are in game allready i think they will not go out of this format so soon.

Therefore i think we should also think about how to improve current state of the game. And in current state as you pointed out its hard to get 8 team of similar lever inside one tournament.

But is that true? I still see lot of people in mists, lot of people in hot-joins. Free tournaments are poping in like 2 mins. Main issue is PAID where the queue is long like 15-20 mins. And to be honest noone want to spend time by waiting.

So what we should do to improve and to help the system? how we can improve? I said that in different topic. I do believe that the main issue right now is that PREMADE groups never moved to PAID tournaments where they are supposed to fight.

Why they never moved? There are 2 reasons.

1) some players like easy victory and playing against unorganized groups give them enough satisfaction. Shame on them, but im 100% sure there are teams like this.
2) PAID tournaments are not balanced in terms of entry fee and rewards. Its too easy to lost tickets and too hard to get them back. (actually to get them back you have to move back to free and spend there at least 3 hours.. )

So simple proposal.

1) forget the gem lottery. any random system in this just destroy the reward system and still its random !! I dont want to have random rewards that I NEED in order to CONTINUE playing.
2) balance the entry fee and rewards properly. GOAL should be that every organized premade should be able to play PAID. No matter what level of play they are, if they are full premade, they should be able to compete.

Results?
1) As i results PAID tournament quality will go down for sure. That will probably not make happy the TOP teams but these will very soon (hopefully) get custom arenas and hopefully price tournaments organized by websites.
2) PAID tournament queue times will go down rapidly. Therefore more teams will be able to join and play
3) Free tournaments will be almost (yea almost) only for solo / casual players. Therefore queue times here will probably increase but still casuals players will have easier life because they will have option to go tournament and dont get roflstomped by premade group
4) hot-joins will probably have less activity. Players will move to Free tournaments instead as they will feel the FREE TOURNAMENTS will be now more PUG / CASUAL friendly.

so what we need? just change and adjust paid tournaments so premades can play them.

When this is done, matchmaking can be implemented for paid tournaments and probably there will be still enough players to have short queue times.

One additional advantage -its fast solution, and it can bring some players back…..

I believe the initial idea was to have

hot-join = first step in sPVP and for casual / solo players
Free tournament = second step in sPvP for people that allready know their class, but still casual with possibility to play with friends
PAID tournament = organized format for premades only
Custom arenas = organized format for high level teams and price money tournaments. As a side effect customs can be used aslo for practicing / personal servers and any other.

Now what i see as an issue – is that premade groups from FREE tournaments never really moved to PAID. And thats due to following reasons

1) they just sooo bad they have to play against PUG groups showing their own awesomness.. Its true that some players simply dont need challenge, they want easy win.
2) entry fee for PAID is so expensive. In order to entry one paid you have to WIN 4 free tournaments + finish your daily quest. That will give your team 5 tickets. The problem is that for this you need at least 3 hours of ingame time which is normally too much allready and instead of going to paid in next round.. you going to bed.
3) GEM lottery – im not sure how that one was planned but in my opinion the idea behind was to give teams additional options how to receive tickets. unfortunatelly is random and probably hard to win (not sure need to check it a bit more)

So the main issue.. its simply the entry fee. In current system is very easy to burn out your tickets and very hard (speaking about time you need to spend to get 5 tickets) to get new ones.

IF entry fee and rewards are more coresponing = then as a direct result more premades will move from FREE to PAID. Which would also make casual players easier life as they will not fight PREMADEs almost every game.

You get a free ticket every day and every month with the new achievements, you should not be lacking on tickets.

1 ticket per day doesnt make any difference.. its nice boost but you can´t live from it..

The problem here is actually very simple. PAID tournaments are not accessible for all premades, they are accessible only for hardcore ones. Thats fine as long as medium and low ranked premades still have something to do. But here we have nothing to do.

We can try PAID and run out of tickets sooner or later (lottery doesnt help either) or go to free tournament where we are FORCED to play against PUG players..

So, you consider the queue times (that I disagree with, they are just a few min, at least for my team) is a “easy” fix? Then please do tell us how this could be fixed.

The fix I see is to basically “fix the game” to get more people playing tournaments, but to fix all that is not working well and add what is needed is far from a “easy” fix

Now on the other hand, to change the ress timers from 20 seconds to 10 should be as simple as changing a few lines of code. Aka erase 20 and put in 10 instead, no need to change any mechanisms or lines of code beyond that.

By easy fix i meant balance the entry fee and tournament rewards. How it doesnt matter. its just change in numbers from XX to XX
Righ now .. there is still so many premade groups in free tournaments and they are not going to paid because 1) they have no tickets 2) there are queue times

And hey.. where do you wait just few mins? Sunday evening I was waiting like 15-20 mins for one tournamet to pop..

match making should be #1 priority. Finish that so at least people have fun balanced matches then go from there. Private servers isn’t going to bring any casuals back to pvp.

Problem is, with the current tournament system it is not gonna work. You think people complain about the queues now? Wait until they implement a match making system that tries to find 8 equally ranked teams…

then rating and matchmaking should be combination of both systems. Like in GW1 – you had the otpion to play “ladder games” with small ELO gain or you had the option to play “tournament” with longer waiting times but higher ELO rewards.. in fact i remember we offten combined both in evenings.. so it was fine

But hey.. matchmaking please.. its important.. otherwise casuals will not come back.. and we all need them..

Well.. to be honest this is an easy fix for the devs, and this is nothing to overreact about. We just need to give honest feedback from the pvp scene. They will change it if we ask

while i agree it it easy task to change it back or change it for example to 10-12 sec. Im not sure if its what they will do if we ask.

Time kills played a major role in GW too, and were a great tool to exercise additional control over the match, so it was a good call to keep that feature in GW2.

Did they actually make arguments for this change, or was it just thrown in randomly?

Karla Grey !! i think i remember you from GW1
anyway.. in GW1 we had different system (moraleboost, death penalties). Whole mechanic of combat different and more team fights (7v7 most of the time or splits)
Anyway Im not top GW2 player – i believe im somewhere in middle with my team but i still dont agree with 20 sec. Previous waves were pretty much good and working fine – as Power said – its about knowelage and strategy.
Now, im pretty much sure, i will torture everyone in downed state to maximum limit in order to give him at least 20 sec in downed + 20 sec respawn timer.
and from point of view of downed player? I dont think its fun to know there is no chance to fight back and therefore lost 40 seconds (or even more) of the game?
On top of that – against some of the issues with downed states abilities being unbalanced betwen classes? some classes take 1000 + HP from you by every hit while others are .. well.. not able to fight back..

Naw dueling needs to be casual fun and social in the Mist where people can watch chat and duel. There are too many private disconnected aspects in the games PvP already.

You target someone type /duel if they accept you duel simple fast easy… got your butt kicked want to test something else no need to leave the server to go change runes etc.. no need for the person waiting for you to comeback to a server they can be dueling someone else.

I cant count the number of times people dueling would decide to go raid or group up for arenas or BG’s. It was community that GW2 just does not have.

I can see your point now – but since i do understeand what you mean, i think its just not needed righ now. It would be nice to have feature in future when the basic is working..

till that time, it can be replicated somehow.. even now 1v1 duels are going well…

Dueling could be done via Custom Arenas – therefore they are adding it. Actually you can do whatever you want in Custom which sounds great.

But Customs can´t fix everything

IMO: tPVP Timers = Death of Burst setups.

interesting theory.. could be right or it will not change anything.. but i agree that if anyone will let you bleed and then + 20 seconds – its an eternity.

I still dont get, why personal timers at all? it was nice right now to check respawn times in order to do massive damage insted of free respawn..

Ya….when we designed this, we were thinking that it’s very important to keep “tabs” on the opposing team when you go for an NPC kill on Forest. You want to have 1 “killer” on your team who finishes the NPC while the other people on your team stun/knockback/daze/blind/immobilize/chill/knockdown opponents to keep them from getting the last hit and winning the buff.

I think the idea in theory is great, the only problem is that a thief can go undetected and then stealth/steal/heartseaker in without any knowledge of his whereabouts. So, all of those strategies, imo, are moot for it.

Keep in mind that Thieves can’t just stealth through a trap, or a necro well, or a necro mark, or a Guardian bubble, etc. Thieves should be all about stealth and landing the perfect blow at the perfect time, but I think organized teams have found a LOT of ways to deal with them.

In pub games this is obviously harder to do than in an organized game, so I totally agree with you there.

Yea.. in organized games we basically ignore the NPCS till we have trully advantage on battelfield like when you send 3 people on respawn.. thats a good time and with portal mesmer of course..
otherwise it doesnt make any sense to start with mob as its sooo.. easy to steal it..

While i do agree that we as community should be responsible for lot of actions, i still do not agree that we can change the game as it is right now. And the reason is – because our communities are smaller and smaller.. With less people interested, less people is going to enjoy the game.

I did a lot of work for GW2 actually i managed our small PVP CZech community since 2007. It was growing every day till … well.. till October. From that time on i see only hudge decrease in interest from people.

So we managed 1v1 duel arena for our community. It was great.

Its gona be 8 players in single elimination tournament.

Thats all great, but its not helping that much because people dont want to spent time with the game. And why? because they dont enjoy PVP. So i asked lot of players why they dont enjoy the PVP ?
answers? lot of reasons – but the biggest issue of GW2 as they see it
GW2 has great combat, nice PVP mechanic, pretty much good balance compared to other MMO´S at start, but – there is no matchmaking.. therefore guilds / teams / casual players are offten playing with no sence of acomplishment, with no chance to winning against best teams or they win everything because they fighting PUGS instead of organized teams.

Conquest is fine, just lack of some key features is making game booring at the moment.

Even with multiple gamemodes it would be kitten without matchmaking and custom arenas.

yep.. without matchmaking, every mode will be boring like now Conquest.
Im sure with kind of matchmaking system, we can see Conquest in a whole new dimension..

The “second promise” would be that they’ve said they will be having the e-sports elements of the game out by the end of the year.
