Lol, no. Most of the Legendary weapons make me shake my head. These weapons can just be bought. I remember playing EQ and being impressed and wanting the epic weapons then. Long quests that you needed help from your guild to finish. Sure you needed some rare drops, but it wasn’t like this.
Here you gamble, play the market, grind for mats or gold or just flat out pay real money for them. I wish they had some kind of story/lore behind the weapons.
Champions should always give at least a t6 mat for killing them.
Even the ones in Queensdale? Caledon? Metrica? I honestly don’t think they should. Higher level zones (70+), sure. The lower level ones, not so much. Maybe a stack of 5-10 fine materials of the appropriate level/tier maybe, but not always t6. That would just make that many more people come farm the lower level champs because they are easier to do with fewer people (which really shouldn’t be the case).
I was using that as an example only if it was in a once per day chest. So that would be the least amount you would get for killing one per day. By no means would I want to see people getting a t6 for killing the same mobs over and over in a low area.
So if that was the case, yeah I would. It would bring more people to lower level areas and still give people that can’t solo champs a way to get a reward still while helping lower level players.
I just really like the idea of a once per day chest because then you wouldn’t have people sticking around in one area and moving around Tyria and giving a more populated look in the open world.
I really don’t think Anet is stupid enough to make champion loot grindable. I mean as in people just being able to stay in one zone and keep getting the rewards. Hopefully they put in a once per day chest for each one so people have to move throughout zones to grind them.
Champions should always give at least a t6 mat for killing them. They are champions, people should have some incentive for taking them out otherwise they are just parts of the landscape with less of a reason for being there than a tree or rock.

Umm I doubt very much that Peter Jackson would ever consider such a thing……
I am from NZ also and have seen some of his very early movies which were so low budget that you would think “why would you say that?” They were good movies but in all honestly he has moved on from those kinds of movies (low grade/budget) and let’s be honest GW hardly has the kind of following that LOTR ever had.
Lastly GW never really had a good story as in storyline wise. Mind you I haven’t really read any of the books but still…..lol
Doesn’t matter, Peter Jackson would
butcherchange the story anyway.“If you want him, come and claim him!” said Arwen Warrior Princess, never.
Anyway, I’d watch a GW movie even if it was directed by… him.
Yeah! Where the hell was Glorfindel?!
I could see Uwe Boll directing this movie.
Oh God no!!!!!
I was joking of course. I would love to see a Guild Wars movie. Unfortunately I know it wouldn’t go over very well with the way Hollywood is. I would rather not see one than have something horrible like the D&D movies that were made.
I’m really surprised we haven’t seen a World of Warcraft movie yet with all the players it has. I think they actually are making one now though.
I could see Uwe Boll directing this movie.
We just had a significant breakthrough with our rocket boots. Give us a little more time.
They should put in a “Stormbringer” looking sword from “Elric of Melnibone.” A re-skin of “Infinite Light.” Make it a black, two-hander with a wicked hilt and glowing red runes.
We’ll all be invited to a glorious ball complete with Zoro and Lone Ranger masks. Risen Tybalt in all his “Beast” looking glory slips her one of his poison apples. She lays on her death bed as we scavenge around Tyria for the cure.
We have an ultimate showdown with one Tybalt’s underlings and save the day. We are all rewarded with a shiny princess crown and an “Aid to the Queen” title.
Yeah right, that would be like killing Princess Jasmine in Aladdin or some equivalent to that. Closest thing you will get is an assassination attempt during a party. Because you know there has to be a party.
When I hear more traits and more skills all I can think of is the power creep that occurred in GW1. That game became nearly impossible for them to balance. I hope we don’t go down the same path in GW2.
Apparently this game is near impossible for them to balance. Almost every patch has a laundry list of rebalancing. It’s actually one of the worst I’ve seen about rebalancing classes or tweaking or whatever they try and call it.
If they were going to do something like this then it should be at least 90 days and emails should be sent to accounts as warnings.
Well, we could just cleanse the names and all the ones that are cleansed could be thrown into RNG boxes in the store. I’m hoping to get this one guys name “Buttrice” that I seen.
all i want to see before 2014 is things to do on a lev80 characters because there’s nothing now
I’ll roleplay with you, bro.
I remember going to meet some guildies in LA for the Mad King. The giant Mad King came out of that fountain and scared the hell out of me. I thought we were going to start fighting for our lives right there.
And I want Halloween masks that are the other races. Come Halloween I want my little Asuran to be running around with a big ugly Norn face. Or maybe a Quaggan one. Lol.
My favorite so far was the Asuran golems gaining intelligence and independent thought and going HAM on all of Tyria Cylon style.
Oh…wait…that never happened…
Mad King then. Up until the point where he became just a weak, ghostly, butt pincher stalking LA.
They do their best, they do what they can
They get them ready for Zhaitan
From old Cantha to East Arah
Commando – involved again
Play an engineer if you want something close to a GW2 style commando.
The generic WvW maps for all three realms being changed so that we have 3 unique maps and Eternal Battlegrounds. So basically two new maps.
No it won’t. He is just messing with you because I think those cards are still in development.
Well, kill the engi before he can use booby trap then. That skill has a long timer that they can’t use right away when downed.
So what are we up to today, boys? Are we closing in? What were the rewards again anyway?
They can add another toolbar while they’re at it so we can use all our class skills. It’s time to take the training wheels off, ladies and gentlemen. Lol!
They should just implement dueling outside of cities. Then it wouldn’t be anymore annoying to people than players fighting mobs. If it is in cities it should be limited to arenas. Also put in an auto duel decline so people can’t be spammed with those requests.
I’m all about player immersion and don’t want all hell breaking out in civilized areas as it is unrealistic and I totally understand why others would be against dueling for those reasons.
I do like dueling in my games though and think there is a way to do it so that everyone is happy.
Yeah, I want one in all the major cities. With stadium seating and all for players to watch and roleplay in. One can dream…
No, absolutely not. GW2 was one of my favorites and is a cute little game. It lacks a lot of the robust features that I enjoy from other MMOs though.
Prove otherwise.
Lol, please prove there are millions playing this game. Your claim holds no more weight than mine unless Anet releases some numbers. I don’t see this game having millions of players though.
While you’re at it please show us all these Chinese players that love it too. Kind of have to release the game there first to see how they feel about it don’t you? Talk about a guy that likes to make assumptions….
Gw2 was one of my favorite MMO’s I just don’t care for the direction the game went in and I’ll voice my opinion on it as I please.
P.S. Guild Wars 2 is a great game. To you, personally, it might not be. That’s your opinion, however wrong it is. The millions of current players, and the Chinese players who are going to be added end-2013/early-2014, also think it is a great game.
With ESO coming out, this game will become another WoW wannabe with some gear grind but no raid content (lol). Anet chose to please the PvE crowd, and they should pay for it dearly.
Don’t mind that guy. He thinks there are millions playing GW2. As far as China goes any of those players that buy this game will blow through it in 2 weeks and I seriously doubt that will end well. The Asian market is far different than the Western one.
I actually bought a copy of the game for someone a few months after release. I wouldn’t recommend the game now though. I don’t like the direction it’s gone in. Constant rebalancing shows me these guys didn’t know and still don’t know what they are doing.
Plus it feels more like it’s name should be changed from Guild Wars to Guild Festival or Guild Dress Up now. I thought I was playing an awesome game where all hell was breaking loose and we were saving the world from ancient and powerful dragons. Instead everyone is partying like it’s 1999 and running around with all these horrible party favors.
I couldn’t care less if they put huge shoulder pads in now. I wouldn’t care if they were so big that each side had a tower with an Asura wielding a rifle in it. It couldn’t be any worse than huge Norn warriors with two-handers and pink Quaggan backpacks. So whatever…
A good way to get a look at armor in game is to go into the Mists and preview it from the PvP locker. As far as getting a look that you want, you may have to get some transmutation stones and use those to make the armor with the stats you want have the look you want.
Yeah, the store is an absolute joke in this game. Compare it to one like say the “Rift” store.
You can buy 3,250 credits in that game for 20 dollars. They have like 150 armor bundles for cosmetics that are mostly 850 credits each. Plus they have a loyalty system where you earn points for buying and spending credits in the store. You advance through the loyalty tiers to earn claimable rewards for supporting the game.
GW2 gives you a highly overpriced, small selection. A lot of the items they put in are limited time only to get you to buy right away. And if you’re lucky they might throw you a bone with some holographic pets or a kite, lol.
These guys seriously need to fix their store.
Given the last few stories, I’m expecting a Centaur/Branded alliance. Yes.. Bronies.
I’m expecting Ninja. Then Ninja Pirates. Then Airborne Ninja Pirates. Along with a wizard school, a secret coven of Sparkly vamps with sparkly weapons, and a gorilla going wild tossing ale barrels around.
You have come to the conclusion that I have a long time ago. It saddened me greatly to see such an epic game go down the toilet and become nothing more than a Chuck E. Cheese ticket counter.
Arkham, you will probably feel better if you just walked away from the RNG dress up game. The content right now is laughable anyway. I spent well over 100$ on steam sales and I’m happy as a pig in kitten with all the content I actually got for my money.
No use really debating with guys that like to buy skins and stand around in games like they’re cool.
My engineer would gladly take a sonic screwdriver.
Also, I’d like to see some Final Fantasy wizard style hats brought in. Zelda boots and hats and Naruto style headbands with our guild symbols displayed. And for the love of Tyria an Asuran hoverboard.
Bigger shoulder pads and a pink football helmet with a rainbow logo for me too. It’s too late to go back now. Just unleash the cheese.
Eww…no way do I want to see icky blood added. It would totally ruin my immersion with my holographic wings and princess wand. I love this game. Very kid friendly. That’s part of its charm. If you have kids this is probably the natural progression after Free Realms.

they could release it on the ouya which is an open source style console. would get rid of all the sony / microsoft BS !
I would just worry about the performance it would have on that kind of system.
Why is it that everyone always forgets that the Ouya is an android based console? It plays apps, not games. It doesn’t even count as a console really; it’s an overgrown cellphone that doesn’t make calls.
Yeah, I doubt that thing could even run GW1.
I’m only posting this because I’ve seen the question brought up a few times on these boards. I never thought they would be able to anyway because Microsoft and Sony are pretty much pushing their own titles.
For those that were wondering about a console port.

One thing that shocked me was that the team was so confident that the game can sustain itself without any expansions.
The sales dropped by more than half according to this year’s Q1 report. Where is that confidence coming from? As a game whose income solely depends on the box sales and microtransactions, announcement dismissing expansion + the rate of items being introduced into microtransaction + dropping box sales = headed for disaster
They are arrogant and living a lie. This isn’t 2005 anymore. They are headed for a huge dose of reality.
Anet actually likes this. It helps them keep their iron grip on trade and money sinks. You are doing a great service to them by posting it to help discourage it.
When in Rome, do as the Romans do. Or in this case the Vandals.
Posting the same thing you posted a month ago? That is the opinion of Bill Murphy not a legit rank. You can’t take that guy serious at all. He wrote that back in May and had Neverwinter at #3 when it was still in beta.
That guy is so off he even had Everquest Next as Best of Show at E3 when it won’t even be shown to the public till August.
I wouldn’t bother with these guys. I would buy the rights to develop “Rifts” from Kevin Siembieda and make a real MMORPG.
Chests for meta events that drop 1 random t6 would be nice. Good idea.
I’d also add a title system for them as well. Yet another reason to get people out and working towards something.
These guys need to add a ton more armor sets to the store. I mean like at least 50 sets. Give players some serious options through the store. The GW2 store is a joke compared to what other games have to offer.
No one take that the wrong way either. I said the store not the game. They obviously want to make money through the store and that is their main way of income now so it’s time to offer more than RNG and goofy town clothes.
Final thought: I get more from chopping a tree in Runescape then killing a champion in GW2!
Yeah, they should make all champs drop a daily chest with a chance at a rare and at least one t6 mat as a reward. Or maybe a token system with vendor rewards for killing them. One token per day per champ. Get people back out into the beautiful open world of Tyria.

The question is, will these armors stay in the gem shop after the Aetherblade story ends?
Hopefully they will do this one day when they have enough armors they will add some to the store to be bought. Much like the “Rift” store. They have a ton of armors you can choose from.
