I take great pleasure in mutilating that terrible champion.
She was instituted into the game rather early. Fractals must have been in dev before GW2 launched. Was Dulfy a household name in GW1? Otherwise, how and why immortalize someone in a game like that, a game that just recently launched?
Edit: Not sure why I quoted you. But I guess I agree with your post lol.
They just have to do things a little faster here. The game is not long for this world.
This thread is a disgusting polla fest! That’s all I have to say about that.
I love this. Polla is nothing compared to what Aussie players have had to endure for years. The whole MMO term “root” has given them horrible images for years.
I’m a collector, i just want to say i’m sad certain skins and items won’t be in my collections. If there was some way in the game i’d go for all of them, all the molten skins, all the SAB skins all the dragon bash skins, but as it is now over half the skins that are in the game or will be added will be unreachable in a few months if they aren’t already :/
Sad collector is sad
It kind of kills my motivation to go for anything at all.
Killed mine awhile ago. I wasn’t even going for all of them. I only have 2 level 80’s that I liked to get stuff for. Up until then I was able to get everything I had wanted.
I’m not a completionist so to say, but every game I have played I always liked to get the event stuff that I like. Once I missed one on this game I quit caring about it and haven’t really took part since. I’m all geared out and if the game is just for cosmetics at this point and I can’t get what I like, why bother?

So the mini is ‘stuff from the gems’? But yeah you can buy stuff from the CE with the gems.
And you can buy the mini’s with gems too. They are in the store now. Wasn’t like we got some special unique reward like early access and a Rytlock toy.
You will fair just fine. This game is WoW with training wheels. The most watered down MMO I’ve ever played actually. Not saying that’s a bad thing, but probably why people like it and find it refreshing. It doesn’t have a dungeon finder though. You will need to rely on a 3rd party site sadly.
Hey, Anet, I didn’t buy a collectors edition, but I did buy gems and received the free holographic pets. Does that mean I get the stuff from the collectors edition too now. I think that’s really messed up if I don’t.
1.) You go in Resort A for a vacation and spend $2000 dollars and they give you a complimentary shirt when you leave.
2.) You go in Resort B for a vacation and spend $2000 dollars and they give you a lottery ticket giving you the chance to win a car and a complimentary shirt when you leave.
You know which resort to return to next time right?
This isn’t a resort its a game.
Seriously, once again, if we had not been given these as a gift you would not be complaining. Were you complaining before the gift?
You are the minority in this thread as you can see most everyone else seems happy with the gift.
Now go start your own thread titled, “I bought gems Anet now give me some free kitten!”
If you are really this upset about it the next Dragon Coffer I get I’ll mail it to you as a bonus to your gift. I hope you win something fancy.
it’s an analogy. compliment according to how well they patronize you.
i was not complaining at first. because there was no stimulus.
if you are not aware, it involves compensating those who bought gems since the beginning. have you ever wondered or are you aware of the exchange rate in the early months of the game? spending 4000 gems will just get you around 10 gold. and i did that. many people did that. compared to now, think of being ripped big time. as i mentioned, even the resident a.net economist defended the old micro small exchange rate. this i still carry over. but i don’t mind. i just close my eyes and not think about it.
and receiving a mail that tells me these 3 minipets are equivalent to hundreds of dollars of patronizing, well that’s almost a joke. opening old wounds. A.net’s gem to gold gets inflated and the early patrons who suffered from the cruel exchange rate get 3 useless minipets. what a joke.
anyway, where is the option to mail back these useless minipets?
Dude….they’re holographic. They are worth hundreds of real dollars. It’s like being on board the Millennium Falcon.
Sounds like a bit of a grind, but at least there is a light at the end of the tunnel and you know you will get them for your hard work in game. Much better than relying on an RNG drop.
How long would it take to get those? I don’t have the game installed so I can’t check.
Anet has to eat. They should be able to put as many skins in the gem store as they want. I’ve never had a problem with that. It’s the RNG short term playable content that bothers me. No one wants to go to the concert and miss out on a shirt.
Since we are on the subject of skins. Did they ever fix those Asuran t2 cultural weapons that have been borked since launch?
I imagine he got nerfed at some point.
I think the expansion will come out after the gem store sales fall. They don’t really have a reason to put one out when they are doing so well. The initial box sales from release then the holidays have fell off and now they are pumping stuff into the store pretty heavily. Once people get tired of the furry hats we might get one.
Honestly I think everyone would rather have WoW quests over how GW2 does it, there is barely any lore attached to hearts and dynamic events, stuff just… happens.
I hated WoW quests, so obviously everyone wouldn’t want to have them. In fact, WoW quests were mostly ignored my most people. That is to say, people would skip the wall of text. I know a whole lot of people who didn’t like quests at all and only played WoW to level through the game to get to raiding. So no, most people wouldn’t necessarily like WoW quests better, when you consider how many people skipped WoW quests or hated leveling in WoW.
I hated WoW in general. Funny thing about that was when I started playing that game I had just came from EQ and started grinding mobs for levels when I started. I was stuck in that whole grinding for AA’s thing. My god that was horrible.
It isn’t WoW that GW2 has to worry about. I got a video too.
BaG is a hypocrite and has no idea what he is talking about half the time. He even makes stuff up to try and prove his point, when everyone has already called him on his bs. He has hated on GW2 since before it was launched. So naturally he is going to favor other games over GW2 all the time and try to compare how much better they are than GW2, with all his false information and hypocrisy.
He sits here and says that GW2 only has 8 dungeons and the different variations on how you can do them doesn’t count. Then he goes on about how ArchAge has only 4 classes, yet you can spread them out in different variations and that is perfectly fine. He’s a hypocrite. I wouldn’t take anything he says seriously.
I was just posting that as a joke mainly. I know all about AA, been following it for a long time. I make my own opinions on games and though that one looks to have great promise it could very will be a kitten on release here.
That is just an excuse for games that can’t do both. ArcheAge will be more than just a sandbox.
It isn’t WoW that GW2 has to worry about. I got a video too.
That’s actually a really funny video.
That’s what is considered innovation now. The maker of that video must have been mad about GW2 dumbing down MMOs even more than WoW has.
If you want a standard of updates to aspire to, look at Rift in the first 18months (not so much lately unfortunatly), quality and quantity both.
Yeah, that game to date had the most content thrown at players I’ve ever seen. I couldn’t believe it. Then they started developing two other games and now they are publishing ArcheAge. Supposed to show ArcheAge off at E3.
The chance of getting the skins has gotten worse as of late. Over the last two events mainly. I quit after F&F because of it and I hadn’t missed an event, title, or item from an event that I wanted until then.
First you had that Molten Alliance dungeon that was only around for two weeks that you could only get the drops from the last chest. People claimed they ran that thing upwards of 200 times and didn’t get the drops. That is not fun.
Now it looks like Anet is still up to this garbage with South Sun. That’s okay though because when you make content for players and they run it and aren’t rewarded they tend to feel slighted and quit running your content.
Vayne just stop. Stop please. I’m begging you.
Why should he stop? He’s playing the game his way and obviously having a blast.
Additionally you shouldn’t tell people how they play the game. Some people can only play a little every day. Others can only play a lot on select days. Forcing one method of playing the game in detriment of all the others is, again, bad design.
Maybe you shouldn’t tell how Anet should run its game then.
That’s right. They’re doing a great job at shooting themselves in the foot all by themselves. With the decisions month after month, sounds like pandemonium there. When the new MMOs hit the market, that’s when we’re gonna see how well they run their game.
Aye. I look forward to that day as well.
I look forward to that day too. The new MMOs hitting the market that is. A whole slew of sandbox feature games will be coming out over the next year. That’s where player interest is looking to be right now too. It’s gonna be glorious.

Anet, for the love of all that is holy, just do what we all know you want to do. Add the T6 mats to your gem store so we can just buy them from you.
That’s what you get.
I built a new comp and that in combination with that RNG dungeon I just haven’t re-installed it yet.
I was really digging the F&F event too. Seems like it took a quick turn for the worst at the end though.
Wait, the final reward for F&F is a buff? I don’t have GW2 installed on my comp anymore to check it out. Please someone tell me that’s what you get, lmao.
Yep, pretty much the straw that broke the camels back for me. Every MMO I’ve played back to EQ gave people an equal chance at getting the loot from temporary events. You may have had to stand in a line and farm the mob, but kitten at least you were guaranteed the item.
I’ll still play here and there, but this will no longer be my go to game. I’m not sinking time into a game or caring about one that burns the people that actually care about the content.
I saw some witch doctor type armor in the PvP locker awhile back. Probably see some of that.
I quit counting after 35 runs. No jetpack or mini yet. I think I would have to quit the game after 112 with no drop, lol.
I’m disgusted by this myself. I have done all the F&F content up to this and get nailed with RNG items. I’ll get mine because I’m not a casual player, but I feel really bad for the players that were enjoying this content and can only play a little a day and want the stuff. I know quite a few that are really ticked.
I love grouping up to do dungeons, but it is always a good idea to give your players other options. As certain content gets older and less people do it, it becomes harder to find groups. Also as the game gets older and the population dwindles it becomes harder as well.
Might as well do it right the first time and give players options to do content on their own if they choose. Otherwise you may be going back to revamp things at a later date like other games have had to do. LotRO comes to mind.
I want to see someone with Chauncey Von Snuffles III.
Looking for an open NA server.
What an odd and useless request. An experienced player knows about hotkeys and can set up his kits where he wants.
The PvP balance dev said it was a problem even before this last livecast. Something to the extent of it being a problem that you could kill the downed guy and the players trying to revive them at the same time.
Last patch gave you more health to the downed state as well. Pretty lame to me. They want to make it impossible for you to die I guess.
I am in a PvE guild with some people I played AoC with and was in one for strictly WvW. The WvW one ended up kicking me after two days of not repping when I had earned tons of rep for that guild.
They were using their own system that checked if you were repping when you logged in. So while I was off grinding dungeons for gear and relogging using alts to run them again, I logged 17 log ins without repping. So that was how they made their decision, lol.
When asked if I wanted back in I just chuckled and said no. I don’t blame them though they had about a 400 man roster and the tools to manage it are bad.
They really should add the feature of when you aren’t repping a guild you can’t be seen online on it’s roster. As it is now if you are repping another guild they know you are repping another. When you go invis you can’t see guild chat so that doesn’t help.
And tools that let a guild see the last date and time people were repping their guild.
So you wanna guild around, but you don’t want your guild leader checking your phone? Are you doing something you shouldn’t?
Lol, that’s why I said give the guilds tools to see the last time the person was repping their guild and individual rep earned. Then you can easily decide if the person is worth keeping. Current system is bogus.

Well, if it was the south camps like Bluewater, Greenvale, ect then yes it is in my opinion. Those cliffs are there for a reason. When you jump down from them you are meant to be in open WvW. Running back to the base of them where there is some small glitched area of invulnerability where it isn’t supposed to be is exploiting.
I still play GW2 because it’s free. I no longer support the game though. I took back the copy I bought my nephew for Christmas after the grenade nerf. Bought him a WoW time card instead. Saved myself money, hehe.
The problem with thieves is mostly the culling issue. Anet chooses to let them run amuck amidst their bungling design and abuse stealth. On the other hand they nerf a class like engineers as a precaution to the damage they will do because they fixed sigils. Really makes me think these guys are out of touch with things.
Plus just a long list of things that have been busted since launch. Asura T2 weapons still sit on the vendor with Sylvari skins, Rune of the Pack still broke, glitched WvW walls, culling, ect. These guys can make the time to add all kinds of content, but can’t fix problems that have been in the game since start. Game is very much still in beta.
I really can’t support the game through word of mouth or purchases or blame anyone for walking away from it. Hopefully these guys get it together after all these holiday events pass.
Some sets are just better for other profs. It’s all about finding the right one for you.
+1
Using Rune of the Pack for my Guardian, and I won’t change it for anything.
Sadly that rune set has been bugged for months. The 3rd rune bonus gives +50 to healing instead of power.
Omg, I just bought 6 of these and slapped them into my exotic set just to come across this bug. Looks like it’s been this way for months. Can you guys fix the rune or text or whatever so people are not continually getting screwed?
If this rune gives +50 to healing, it is not the rune I want and I just wasted about 8 gold.
I receive the 20% swiftness bonus with the set, but it doesn’t give the 3rd rune bonus of +50 power. It gives +50 to healing.
They need to get a dungeon finder in this game asap. No reason not to have one. I have a real simple solution for the people that don’t want one. Don’t use it! Do dungeons with your friends, guildies, whatever.
The tool makes it far easier for the casual player to get in and do the things they want in game instead of sitting in LFG forever.
