I’d only consider wells ‘standard’ if your using Dagger with a decent amount of condition duration to make the Immobilize stick. Problem with wells in solo roaming is there very easy to dodge and have a long cooldown for a utility.

On the flip side Suffering is one of the skills hardest hitting skills, so it depends on how comfortable you are in aiming your wells correctly.

Corrupt Boon & Blood is Power with Master of Corruption is quite invaluable in 1 v 1’s especially when your using Dagger and Axe main hand, nothing beats a BiP > Dagger 3 > DS in & out > Dagger 2 > Axe 2 > Warhorn 3 > DS 4 rotation.

Life Siphoning needs to scale with Healing Power on all traits including the Pulsing one, and if any buff comes to wells it should be in the form of traits so people who build around wells benefit more then people who trait wells for utility zerg damage.

Maybe a change to ‘Vampiric Rituals’ to increase well durations by 20% would be an effective buff IMO.

There official response will be something alone the lines of;

‘Deathshroud is considered a transformation and therefore you should not be allowed to finish and/ or weapon swap whilst transformed.’

We just have to learn to deal with it and play without the easy-win mechanics alot of other classes unfortunately.

I play on Blackgate and our guild loves a good fight, but we can’t get those fights anymore because the enemy just runs away.

Funny, i play on SoR and all i ever see is BG running.

As for no siege, its a no. Siege makes the WvW experience unique, however they do need to do some major re-balancing of all the siege and make there damage more dynamic vs other siege types rather then static such as arrow cart > catapult, ram, ballista.

Soldier on necro is mostly for tank/melee heavy support setups (some picking up sentinel armor now what i personally see as a bit of a waste, but still good) as a damage dealer take Asciis setup (but swap 1 toughness and 1 precision on ring/earring so that you dont have to use the omni infusions).

You can have 1 offensive infused ring and 1 offensive uninfused ring.

Why bother when you can have everything infused…

Because +5 Agony Resistance is the only difference between infused and uninfused rings were as the price between offensive and omni-infusions is quite big.

Best spec/gear for wvw roam

Nice suggestions, wich defense you think have to be the highest? vitality or thoughness for roam?

To be honest, whatever works best for the armour you will be using. Example if your looking for Critical Chance build into Knights and benefit from the Toughness or if your looking for Critical Damage build into Valkyries and benefit from the Vitality.

Necromancers have the luxury of choosing between both as Vitality scales directly with Deathshroud for the same HP that you would get from Effective Health from Toughness (as long as you know how to use or “master” Deathshroud as a certain developer would say).

I really wouldn’t run condition damage past anything passive (Barbed Precision for example) as the condition removal in large scale fights is too strong especially with the heavy focus around Water Fields.

As Haz has also pointed out most front-line Warriors are running the new unstoppable build consisting of -65% condition duration -33% Cripple, Chill and Immobilize duration.

For the best returns on critical damage to 3rd add-on points, you always want to go Berserker Shoulders, Gloves and Boots. My particular setup is:

My build is a WvW build that focuses on heavy front-line tanking and disruption through Plague, Unholy Feast and Well of Corruption whilst still being able to dish out true damage (weakness immune damage) with high critical chance through Well of Power, Life Transfer and Staff skills.

There is no “one armour type fits all” in my opinion with the exception of Rabid which is truly awesome for Conditionmancers.

This is a variation of a solo roamer hybrid build i worked on for someone who requested it alittle while back.

The idea is to burst down opponents with heavy passive bleeding from the Sigil and your Barbed Precision trait which do 10 and 2 second bleeds respectively. Whilst having 50% critical chance and 56% damage in only a mixture of Zerker and PTV gear your not giving up any damage that wont be dealt passively.

Hitting the 100% condition duration cap opens up alot more plays with Barbed Precision, Dark Path and most importantly Dark Pact allowing you to Dagger 3 > Dagger 5 > DS in & out > Dagger 1 stacking at least 10 bleed stacks before the immobilize has even worn off.

I’ve always pointed out the Dev’s more one-sided approach to finishers especially in SPvP, whilst the safe stomps from most classes remain (Stealth, Elixir S and Mistform) developers chose to nurf Shroud-stomping and no reason was ever given for this as well despite the calls for it.

We just have to learn to deal with it, like Necromancers always do.

We are in the process of doing a couple of things that should make the matchups less stale and inject variety into the server colors regardless.

Any idea on the ETA for these changes, and also regarding alternating sides;

Will there be anyway to determine what colour you will be before actually entering a BL once this takes effect? It would make planning what BL your guild is entering impossible beforehand if not.

To be honest, that duel needed to be interrupted, almost 10 mins of 0 damage and 100% regen.

I recommend dueling north of Speldan camp, i almost never get interrupted there when i’m 1v1ing the deers.

How good is necromancer in Wvw?

Necromancers bring alot of condition control and tankability to team-fights and is the second best WvW farming class (next to Grenade Engineer).

A well timed Plague with Chilling Darkness can turn a teamfight alongside the 50k Health and 35k DS-Health for soaking up enemy damage.

That looks more like G+G v G but whatever works. Surprised the skill lag wasn’t worse than it looks.

Just thought id say although it was TW and Fear vs FoO the numbers were more or less even at around 60-70 each side. The FoO commander told us he cleared out all the Pugs from the borderland.

Note this was during FoO’s primetime (Oceanic) and not NA, so TW and Fear were only at about 25-30 each.

Grenade Kit skill: Grenades no longer require the player to have line of sight of the target area to throw them.

Grenades (as of the last patch) no longer need line of sight, and as they arch when you throw them you can aim them through the hole above the gate at the right angle.

Its not a bug or exploit, just a nice buff for Engineers.

It is too bad FOO doesn’t play NA PST prime time. We would enjoy ganking their “1” spamming reinforcements as they scurry towards their zerg for protection.

Having recently GvG’d FoO during EU times with TW and Fear i can safely say they make every other guild in JQ look like novices in comparison, best fights I’ve had in months.

Only god knows what FoO would do to Blackgates “Guilds”

No patch notes, just another one of those unnoted thing that just happened (if you recall DP was the same speed as Deathly Claws, now its about the speed of a engie bullet).

Personally i haven’t noticed any projectile speed buffed on any of our skills since the Spectral Grasp change donkeys years ago. People can still outrun Dark Grasp and Necrotic Grasp.

ANet addressed this issue by simply stating any transformation destroys all minions and removes all spectral effects (as seen in our elite tooltips) this was there ‘fix’ because it would of meant buffing Necromancers which they don’t do.

Fun Fact: ANet states transformations kills all minions and removes spectral effects. They also referred to not allowing weapon swaps in Deathshroud because they consider this a transformation, yet minions stay alive whilst in Deathshroud but spectral effects are removed.

Don’t even bother to stomp people.

Pretty much this, ill get off my Plague stomp for the match and then tend to use downed bodies as free targets to stack conditions on and Epidemic.

That means ur not doing nothing, you are doing poison for ur team..

The point is you have 0 condition damage and your build would be better if you had, simple as that.

Plague is for inflicting control conditions, not for damaging, atleast thats how every smart Necromancer uses Plague for.

Currently the only safest options for stomping is to either use Stomp then Plague or have 30 points in Soul Reaping and jump in and out of DS for Stability.

Only a matter of time before Plague stomping is nurfed though, ANet love to nurf all possible stomp methods for Necromancer whilst leaving alllll the other abusable ones (Elixir S, Mist Form, Stealth etc) in the game.

Fastest way of attaining ascended gear

Its pretty much:

  • 1 Ascended Ring is 10 fractal relics (doing a Lv.10 and Lv.20 will get it done in 5 days) ring can also drop from fractals too (ive gotton tons to the point i NPC zerker rings)
  • 1 Ascended Amulet is 30 laurels (20 days of dailies + monthly)
  • 1 Ascended Earring is 40 laurels (30 days of dailies + monthly + 50 Ectoplasms) or about 30 days worth of guild missions + 5g
  • 1 Ascended Backpack is 1850 fractals tokens (30-40 level 20 FoTM runs)

The highest we have on SoR is 120 which is ‘Legend’ i personally gave up serious grinding for Ranks when no Rank Leaderboard came out.

Nice why focus on guard reduction though

If you run Havoc only ‘Defense Against Guards’ and ‘Guard Killer’ are pretty feasible, especially for there low cost.

Last patch we actually got a buff to DP projectile speed (its about as twice as fast as Necrotic now.

Weres the patch notes on this? If i recall all that happened was it became unblockable, i haven’t noticed the speed increased at all.

Are you serious dude? How does a warrior get inside a t2 tower and be behind the lords room without aggroing the guards? Both jq and bg seen these two guys speeding around anz/speld, and other places. Oh btw, CnD stealth stacking was fixed if you didn’t know.

You can perma-AoE stealth without CnD. Rings and such are left from Smoke fields and Refuge but in a Tower (were you usually don’t Mesmer sweep properly) you could get away with it, especially seen as warriors have alot of blast finishers.

Poison reduce healing, last i heard 33%

Ask what debuff is best in any game with pvp, im 99% sure they will say healdebuff, well except you that think its nothing. Good luck with ur t1 wvw, trying to help here, but im sure you know best!

And if you knew anything about Necromancers you would know Poison is auto-cast on every plague option.

Withering Plague: Poison, Bleed (2)
Plague of Darkness: Poison, Blind
Plague of Pestilence: Poison, Cripple, Weakness.

Using Plague of Darkness with Chilling Darkness traited is an AoE Poison, Blind, Cripple and direct damage for 20 seconds straight. I stated the damage of the conditions dealt by Plague is laughable, not the conditions themselves.

Aoeing conditions with 0 condition damage vs 1000 condition damage i know which one is more useful, as faar as i see you were not stacking might in your build or gear either so you dont get any free that way.

Plague is much more about control then damage, if your using anything but Plague of Darkness your doing nothing for your team. The condition damage with Withering Plague is laughable.

In my experience, people dont really target a person in plague form, ur not tanking more than random aoe so I dont see the point ur running around in plague form there in ur vid if you have 0 condition damage, not going to acomplish much.

Some vitality and toughness is great but you need some damage to make a difference IMO.

I’m not sure what you know about Tier 1 WvW, but if your not AoEing in large team-fights your doing something wrong.

As for not accomplishing much AoE blind, poison, chill and 500-800 damage, 350 retaliation damage whilst absorbing 1 of the 5 AoE effects of enemy skills is a huge advantage for your side.

Balances and Orbs of Power

I don’t think Orbs should affect player stats at all, that was the whole reason they were removed in the first place.

I mostly do Pve and Dungeons. I don’t do much pvp or WvW, though they are fun but I keep dying rather quickly than anyone else around.

PvE and Dungeons so straight up Condition Damage then, Rabid armour and trinkets. Something like this will give you all the damage you need in Dungeons whilst having a 100% bleed cap to maximize on Barbed Precision and Superior Sigil of Earth.

It will be pretty decent in WvW too as long as you avoid the main zerg fights, good build for solo roaming or havoc squads.

When using Minions you kind of have to go all in to make them effective; i would recommend 20/0/30/20/0 with heavy tank armour and trinkets (anything with Toughness or Vitality as a major stat).

Pro Tip: You can swap out II (Bloodthirst) in Blood Magic for VI (Transfusion) as it will provide you with a 2,698 AoE heal for your Minions every-time you Life Transfer (every 40 seconds)
