Guild Wars achievements should not affect Guild Wars 2 highscores, period. No highscore should be dictated by a different game even if the story-lines are similar. This is Guild Wars 2 and we deserve a fair highscore system that shows peoples achievements in Guild Wars 2, not other games.
HoM players have there ‘rewards’ in the form of unique titles, weapon & armour skins and ranger pets, they should not also have priority on the highscores.

Talk about unfair when you will have a 1 day Internet outage and you will miss your daily which you will never be able to earn again.
The difference there is that’s AP missed from GW2, not GW1.

So you don’t want to buy GW1 and grind for additional achievements. That’s understandable.
But someone more determined will buy and will grind to win in competition. Don’t like it? Then you not deserve your SoR first place onnolifeachievements.
I don’t and shouldn’t have to pay for a new game + expansions to earn achievements in this game it makes no sense to have a Guild Wars 2 Achievement Highscore if its dictated by Guild Wars 1 Achievements.
And re-read what you typed ‘buy to win in competition.’ This should not be the case for any highscore, period.

And as GW1 player I would love to see at least some minor increase in player population caused by this AP increase. Game deserve it.
And your issue, much like everyone else praising the change, is greed. Greed blinding you from whats fair to Guild Wars 2 players.
Let me put it another way for you, every achievement in the game can/ has be earned through guild wars 2 without paying money for them.

Difference is those AP’s were received in Guild Wars 2, you know the game were playing not in a different game you have to pay for. Guild Wars 2 AP Highscores should in no way be influenced by anything other then achievements received within Guild Wars 2.

It is a stun! its reduced by melandru’s stun duration… but its not a stun because if it was it would be increased by Paralyzation’s stun duration… but it is a stun because its broken and removed by a stun breaker!

Not at all a problem. It’s a way to reward loyal Anet customers. I’m totally fine with that, not having 50/50 HoM myself. Also, the time invested to get 50/50 HoM is praiseworthy.
The titles and skins are loyalty enough, 500 AP messes up all the highscores rankings for all non-GW1 players.
I should not have to play GW1 to be highscore competitive on GW2, this would be like giving a 100 point lead to tPvP teams who did well in there previous matches, it does not promote healthy competition within GW2.
And for the record, anyone can still get them, just go hop over to GW1 and work on the HoM.
By ‘hop over’ you mean spend $19.99 + however much in expansions.

These achievements are now giving 50 AP per completed achievement instead of the previous 2, is this a bug or working as intended.
Personally i think these should not reward any AP at all, (just titles + perks) as i feel i shouldn’t be forced to play GW1 to remain highscore competitive on GW2.

That’s not necessary. All you need to know is that stun breaks cancel control effects.
Changing names or anything like that would just complicate things.

Are you saying that Stun-breakers removing Fear, but Stun duration not increasing Fear makes sense and wont confuse new players?
Rename Stun-breaker to Control-breaker, re-validates everything it does.

This should be taken as a good sign. Maybe without the Sigil of Paralyzation skewing things, Fear won’t need to be nerfed directly (or nerfed as hard) in the August balance patch. Making this change now means they have the opportunity to observe the Necro’s performance for a few weeks before pushing further changes live.
As long as they balance out this obvious hit to Necromancers properly, people wont mind. They now need to;
- Remove Daze & Knock-back being extended by +% stun duration effects.
- Remove Fear, Daze & Knock-back being reduced by -% stun duration effects.
- Redefine to everyone what “stun” means, renaming/ changing stun-breakers accordingly.

So in the upcoming patch Sigil of Paralyzation is being nurfed so “Stun duration” no longer increases Fear duration. Has/ will there be changes to Melandru so the -25% stun duration no longer reduces Fear too.
Will there also be changes to Daze (both increased and decreased by Stun duration) and while were at it, will Stun-Breakers either not remove fear anymore or be renamed to better suit its effect (seen as Fear is no longer being classed as a stun).

If your the only condition build in the team, conditionmacers are king.
If your hot-joining random parties and have no idea how many condition builds are in the team, u’ll suffer alot.
When FoTM first came out i had a team ready for it, with me being the only condition build. We got from 1-30 in a couple days and it was easy sailing for us.

Necros have the easiest time leveling, im not sure about fastest though.
Pure minion builds allowed me to solo up to 10 levels ahead on my storyline and staff + wells made dynamic event tagging super easy. I leveled 1-80 in 42 hours @ game launch without any crafting.

If you want damage, Ruby Orbs.
If you want survivability, Runes of Melandru.
If you want a hybrid, Runes of Hoelbrak.
Having Banshee’s Wail and 1 Sigil of Paralyzation is enough for a 4 second daze.

Best thing to do is to save your condition burst for when all your fears are up. Keep them guessing with auto-attacks, grasping dead’s & torment stacks and after they blow there heal hit them with the chain fears. Just don’t try to burst them on impact.
I would also recommend splitting armour between carrion & rabid, scepter still does very strong direct damage.

Granted, BG’s NA is not as powerful as SoR’s but it is silly to says its bad. SoR’s ppt is never +400 in NA, more like +300~
Also, ticking for +400 during NA, have been for awhile now.

NA time starts in 30 minutes (7est) the current ppt of SoR is due to their strong EU coverage not a weak NA from BG.

Dailies take fifteen minutes tops, just do them and you’ll keep up.

I’m ranked 6th NA for AP and i would love to see daily/ monthly AP removed, the time it takes to complete all these tasks can be anything up to 2 hours, not to say daily, monthly and living story AP making it impossible for any new player to rank on the highscores.

Keep receiving a connection error message at random intervals (every 3 – 6 mins), thought i would report it for further investigation.
It hasn’t seemed to affect any of my game functions (friends list loads, guild roosters load, trading post is operating and logging in and out still works fine).
- From the UK.
- No firewall/ antivirus running.
- Home network, connected directly to hub.
Note: This is really affecting my gameplay within WvW, the error message keeps blocking my FoV and prevents me from leading normally, so a response on how to fix would be very much appreciated.

Fear is both a condition and a crowd effect.
When traited with Terror, Fear will inflict 362 + (0.3 * Condition Damage) condition damage every second (as condition damage it is not affected or reduced by toughness or vitality).
Fear’s duration can be extended and reduced with the stun duration stat and can be removed with stun breakers (removing both the condition and damage if traited with terror).
Players affected by fear will always move away from the caster (not the source).

Builds depends completely on what you plan on doing in WvW, typically narrowed down to;
- Solo roaming (hitting yaks, sentry points).
- Havoc (hitting supply camps).
- ZvZ/ GvG (roaming with large numbers, usually end up fighting 30+).

If they fix +% stun duration increasing Fears duration, they also need to fix -% stun duration reducing its duration (Melandru, SD foods). It would be a joke if they nurf +15% but keep -25%.
Personally i think should be left alone (and no i do not use them). It doesn’t matter how you class Fear (condition control, control, light stun, control effect) its removed universally by a stun breaker and thus should be increased/ reduced by stun duration effects.

I would love to see either the AP rewarded from dailies dropped to 5 or AP from all dailies/ monthlies removed completely. People looking to actually rank on the are seeing so much one-time AP content punish them for missing it (living story, dailies & monthlies).

First and foremost, if devs ever hit Consume Conditions with the nurf bat there would be massive uproar. I think its safe to say you could take anything away from a Necro but Consume Conditions is ours.
Next, its not the fact that Consume Conditions is strong, its more that the other 2 heals are weak by comparison. They need to change our other heal skills to be more beneficial to us in the role there suppose to play (support heal & minion heal) personally i would recommend:
- Well of Blood should be changed to a water field.
- Blood Fiend should provide some sort of heal if it is killed before you pop it.

Problem is, Greatswords are big and sharp which goes against our weapon set;
- Our axes are so blunt they don’t cleave.
- Our daggers are so small you have to be on top of the target to make contact.

Just remember Terror builds are much more effective in WvW then they are in PvP because of the large access to +% condition duration.

Terror Condition is the best way to go when roaming in WvW for Necromancers. Power Wells can clear camps faster but wells are so unreliable in small scale fights.
I am surprised you chose Nightmare over Undead though, you can hit a much higher condition cap in WvW and the consistently changing variables when fighting multiple people in WvW would null out the single target benefit somewhat.
Have you considered using Giver statted weapons for the +20% condition duration?

When they move, it is literally just a double tick, so it will essentially double damage.
Yea, by the looks of it as soon as they start moving a second tick timer, if you will, starts ticking doing Torment apon movement and every second after that whilst there moving on top of the static Torment per second already ticking.

No vampiric build works in competitive tpvp, period.
With that post you’ve made me laugh at myself for ever thinking you knew anything about Necromancers. Stop implying you need precision for any kind of vampiric build because you don’t. Vampiric Precision matches enhanced Vampiric at 40% critical chance, and the difference in effective health is over 7k (and lets not forget vitality for DS-Health).

Vampiric builds are neither bad nor difficult to play (unless your running a trademarked mighty altroll’s mighty meta build, which are all meta by default). Personally i think a minion variation for vampiric builds works best rather then straight up, something along the lines of;

The industry standard is Runes of the Nightmare with Sigils of Geomancy, Sigil of Earth. or Sigil of Corruption.
The 40% condition damage the build has puts Dhuumfire’s burning at 5.6 seconds, using a Sigil of Smouldering is enough to push the burning to 6 seconds for the extra tick (670 damage every 10 seconds).
