I’m getting a little bored with always winning.

JQ has 7 match wins since week 40 (Oct 6 – Oct 13). The server with the most match wins over that same time frame has double that (14 wins), including a string of 11 wins in a row. So …. bored? Okay.

The 24hr resets don’t count and if I’m not mistaken those other servers dropped all the way down to t6/7 JQ on the other hand has been in T1 since who the hell remembers and has only dropped to t2 for maybe 3 weeks (cit needed)even before all the transfers we were the most competitive longest lasting server ever in t1. Its like nascar you don’t have to win any races to win the championship all you need to do is place in the top 5 consistently.

They could easily fix culling without it effecting pve mechanics 1) IPv6 (2) wv3 independent servers using IPv6 network(3) use the same fix they used for orbs ie; remove broken mechanics

I tried using Battle Ping as someone suggested in one thread and the problem was gone. I can finally play again. The lag and disconnection issues are gone. While this may seem like a good temporary solution for now, I’m still hoping that Anet will fix their servers to the point that we don’t need to use these programs just to play the game.

How would using a proxy connection fix something broken on AN’s server? It wouldn’t but you might want to check with AN if connecting to their game server via proxy is even allowed.

Simply put, it’s because Anet is new to making grindy games. They don’t have a lot of experience with it out of the gate, but I believe that, over time and with experience, the grind will become as easy and straightforward as WoW’s.

Hopefully before its 8th anniversity.

I feel no pity for SF they are a server made up of bandwagoners that thought they could exploit the glicko system and free transfer instead they got burned by it after it stabilized.

Looks like Blackgate has absorbed multiple big SoS guilds. GW2 has this bizarre ‘passed around foster child’ thing going on where people just migrate from server to server, and the landscape changes, free or paid. I suppose that could be good, but it’s also terribly frustrating to the small fish whose fates are decided by the big fish.

Enjoy your time at the top of the hill JQ, it’ll come to an end sooner than you think.

I love this matchup. I hope this is T1 forever. Who does not love a challenge? When things get insurmountable and we surmount them anyway…..THAT is how Legends are Forged!!! Now let’s just get on with the surmounting. I don’t care if that’s not even a word, it is now!!!

and by that JQ is legendary.

Everyone likes to rag on JQ but before all the “so-called stacking with transfers” we here on JQ that have been here since before launch have fought and clawed our way through hard times hardly ever finishing 1st just managing our PPT to barely stay in T1 for going on 21 weeks we’ve managed this and to any naysayer wanting to diminish this feat I and I think the rest of JQ collectively say bring it.

Easy way to fix zergs- remove the aoe limit. Then there will be a disadvantage to running in a mindless zerg (and advantages too for the more skilled) and some tactics might come back into wvw.

Making people move slower would just be a joke when you think of what it would do to class mechanics, etc

Yeah. I agree. Massed artillery really did in those giant formations armies used to make in the old days. Generals around the world saw what happened in Europe and, over-time, adjusted their tactics.

Seems like the zerg worked in Iraqx2 and to a lesser extent Saddams zerg on Kuwait.

They are scaled, and bystanders will be rewarded for helping (just like every event in the game).

This response is not 100% accurate, yes you may get karma but you may still be locked out from chest events since they are based off the amount of participation.

But how does that play out with the “opportunity system”. Say a guild is doing a guild event and the encounter target is at 50% or less and since participation in the encounter for loot drop is based on damage and nothing else that I’m aware of the said guild has players downed I come up on the scenario what should I do if I start to damage said boss the damage already done will exclude me from drop and rezzing down players isn’t counted as participation and even lessens my damage participation in this scenario the best thing for me to do is keep on about my business and let the event fail.

This is why the first rule of customer service is you never admit nor deny something is wrong you just say we’ll investigate the issue and thank you for playing because now what AN has done is opened the proverbial Pandora’s Box.

This statement alone tells me all I need to know about how this issue was handled.

After reading reports in the loot issues thread, we spent more time investigating our rewards system. As I mentioned a few weeks ago, we verified that all loot tables are indeed working correctly in the game. Since then, we continued receiving reports that there seemed to be an issue, so we extended our search to all systems that created opportunities for you to get items from loot tables. Here we found an issue that we were able to verify was consistent across everyone who reported problems.

1) After reading reports in the loot issue thread we spent MORE time investigating.

More time investigating is the predetermining factor here it defacto states they had already spent time investigating the loot issue BEFORE they read the thread.

2) Verified that ALL loot tables are working correctly in game.

Now this was all happening before the forum post about the broken loot system. Now to me ALL means everything but to AN it must mean something different because now they re-investigate something they just confirmed as working as intended but now its broke.

I know some will say loot tables and the so-called opportunity system are separate but I challenge anyone on this premise since one without the other is like a light without a switch and in this case the loot table being the light and the switch being the opportunity you could stand there all day and wish the light to come on but without physically flipping the switch you would be wishing in the dark and the ALL claim they made when they posted the loot tables working as intended was baseless.

Getting back to the first rule of customer service statement I made what AN has done in this situation is put more doubt on their corporate integrity by making baseless claims of investigating issue’s with their product, shown incompetence in handling such issues or flat out lying about it any any scenario it’s not good for their customers or their company.

Threads like these show just how lazy some are. The easiest thing to say is this class or that class is so OP nerf now. Instead got to sPvP and roll that class see it’s mechanics then you will be better suited to fight them. I must agree that if they could get culling solved in WvW you will hopefully see less people complain….but again that’s a hope, because kids will still get all but hurt because they were rolling around in zerk gear and got spiked before they could spike.

You saying everything is fine with thieves based on the smallest sampling of the game in terms of player activity as apposed to one of the largest being wv3. Culling and invisibility are broken this is indisputible and until they can fix either and or what do you think the fix should be?

Heres a hint in wv3 there was another issue with orbs what did they do to fix that?

the problem is that anet has allowed perma stealth, the highest dps and the best mobility all on one class. it’s possible because culling allows permastealth without even speccing for it. that’s how he could take out those vet mobs and be perma stealthed. all we can do is to respectfully provide feedback.

Doesn’t have the highest dps. It has the highest burst(steal cnd bs) that has a 30s recharge rate. You can still cnd/bs but that wouldnt be the highest burst.

Who bursts more than a rogue using cnd and BS? I usually see a fully geared rogue hit me for 12-15k with those two alone with steal adding another 2.5-5k depending on crits. A kill shot does only about 12k to me and a shatter usually hits me for around 10-12k .

Rogues can do the BS and C&D every few seconds, and hit with BS more times if they use utilities and their heal, both warriors and mesmers have cool downs.

A full glass warrior can volley for 10K, then killshot for 12, or just switch to GS and whirling GS into them. Or you can run shield axe and evicerate. The axe autoattack is a nasty little bugger too. I’ve seen glass cannon guardians also down glass thieves(usually 10.8K-14K HP) in 3 seconds. Engi burst can also get nasty, although it might not hit more than thieves. Ele’s have 16K burst, but has a long CD. Mesmer’s also have some pretty insane shatter/furry builds that has low CDs.

Most classes can actually achieve the same amount of burst.

they also can’t go invisible every 2 seconds and run away from anything without any fear.

any other glass class is kittened against multiple opponents. thieves can take on a zerg and stop them capping a camp, or keep WPs contested by perma stealth wall hitting.

the only people who think thieves are not broken are people who play thieves and don’t want them nerfed even though they also know they are broken, and people who don’t play GW2.

Your information is outdated. They can’t prevent a cap anymore, not with the recent patch, unless they are visible. And CnD wall stealth is an exploit.

When was the last time you read patch notes/reviewed thief mechanics?

I also would suggest you compare warrior to a thief. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. Listing only the advantage of a thief can be viewed as biased.

I’ll start

Thief: Mobility, stealth, burst

Warrior:DPS, high HP pool, versatility(as in, you can go from 1200 range rifle to sword, with a variety of builds suited for anything)

High health pool on a dps warrior? 17-19k is not high.

True but can they vanish heal on what a spec’d 8 sec cd? What they need to do is break vanish if thief has a debuff.

After reading through the entirety of this thread I’ve come to the conclusion that most who offer some semblance of a solution have taking the position of punishing the successful servers which reminds me of the mentality of the OWS (bowel)movement.

I just wonder how any of these servers could feel an ounce of pride knowing they couldnt use the metrics everyone else has used that have been on top whether it was t1 -t8.

Take Kainege for instance they were bottom of the wv3 ranking just 2 months ago now they are on the threshold of moving in to t1 so you guys in t8 do some self reflection and you’ll discover its your crying and quitting mentality that’s your problem not your competition.

So lets change the metrics to me just reeks of poor sportsmanship.

That exactly how it is but on a 24/7 schedule. Wv3 is about 24/7 coverage, not strategy not skill only coverage matters and if your server can’t manage it there is no amount of mathematical manipulation that will fix it aside from getting more people to participate in it.

The top servers have the numbers to compete against each other and its the same exact thing in every bracket.

I’m sorry but your remarks just seems to “politically correct” for me if I’m understanding this correctly your proposal is to let everyone win. In the USA we’ve tried that for the last 35 years and the results are…

1:12 kids that enter kindergarten this year will drop out once in high school. 1:4 that does manage to graduate can’t read at a 4th grade level. As a “developed” country we rank dead last in math and science.

Given the same variable (transfers) the proposed WULD system would yield the same results as we have now in WV3 the only benefit you would see is some short term advantage for lower tier world advances for a week but would soon be right back where they are today.

I can see where the OP has a point at this stage of the game all seems fine gear wise in wv3 but…I can see problems in the future if gear isn’t balanced and the treadmill continues it has the potential of turning into WOW pvp pre burning crusades with trinket stacking 1 shot lolpvp.

Agree with the OP strongly. I can’t log in to FFXI anymore after 8 years of play, because all I can see is the old fashioned gameplay. After GW2 I just can’t stand it – the gameplay is much too restrictive.

I also note that LOTRO and other MMOs are taking up ideas from GW2 piecemeal, and the trend is even starting to bleed into single player RPGs.

Hats off to the developers – paradigm shift in the genre. Well done!

Shift was with the launch of Age of Conan, aoc’s combat system is far superior to GW2, their art detail is far superior aswell not to mention The Secret World although not my type of mmo it too pushes the boundaries alot further imo than does gw2.

All it would do is encourage turtling, servers would grab keeps,towers and zerg train closest supply camp fortify for the next week and any server that couldnt do competive coverage 24/7 would be toast.

You may agree or u may disagree cause you are a recent transfer to JQ and you are in denial it doesnt matter.

This injustice is causing a negative effect on the game long term from my view and how harder the good players can’t win with less players vs a horde of bad players creates a negative effect and less motivation to keep on going, making the problem bigger and bigger… better players should win (it’s a good thing it makes the game better)
The world vs world should be an epic journey on for players to go on… not a casual gaming imbalanced on number when a team caps 500 points per tick on a night vs empty castles making the fight for the next days useless…

I’m afraid anet in a few months will lose a lot of players that will even kill any expancion that is coming up due to the lack of players, it’s so sad because the game is awsome …

You have transferred to like 4 different tier 1 servers. So any server that you’re currently on is a server with “horde of good players” and any server that you’re fighting against is a “horde of bad players?”

If you think that wvw is an “epic journey for you to” to keep transferring so that you stay on the winning server and now that you can’t with the end of free transfers, then I think that maybe this game just isn’t right for you. Have you thought of maybe playing other games like Contra? I heard there is a code (up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, b, a) you could use to give you 30 lives. With 30 extra lives, I’m sure you will always win since winning is the only reason that makes a game fun for you.

Nope it would take god mode while he was on JQ all he did was whine about not getting support on swords at some random checkpoint, whine about commanders. He talks about server coverage but he was in the first wave of bandwagoneers (not my term) to come to JQ thankfully he’s gone now.

So first off, for those who don’t know what it is.

“Inspecting gear” is a feature where you can check anyones gears in a UI. By right clicking or something else.

My view on this:

It would make it easier to check out someones gear if you’re curious. You wouldn’t have to link every piece.

But then again, It would also increase the level of “gear checking” for dungeons, etc. At that would pollute the community. “You must have x gear to enter this group”. Just like the “You have to be warrior to join this group”, only worse.

It would also make it easier to bash somone because of their gear.

These are the only things i can think about when it comes to this topic.

So, i ask you.

Should it be implented? Or not? Give us your opinion!

Simply put no to ingame gear check. Now if AN wants to start a fractal gear score system where content is locked until you reach a certain agony rating I’m fine with that.

When choosing the option “exit to desktop” after ending a session I’ve noticed on a few occasions since the most resent patch the game client will not release but stays running in the background and I only catch it when I try to relaunch the client for my next session when I receive the popup warning me “Guild Wars 2 is already running”.

Also another bug thats been randomly happening since the new Daily/Monthly GUI pane on 2 occasions when I put the target cursor over the daily progress pane between it causes a crash to desktop which triggered the automated crash report tool which I filled out and sent in for review.

Anyone else having these issues?

I’ve run memtest, cpuburn and furmark gpu burnin for several hours to stress test system to see if I had hardware on the verge of failing but everything passed with flying colors so hoping its just an anomaly.

Fractal kicking is the norm now.

What are you going to report them for they are following the rules set forth by AN by using the voting mechanism how about you set up a petition to make the vote mechanism a super majority instead of wasting their time with frivolous reports.

Thats as foolish as saying profinity is okay if use it in a manner that it is not filtered.

The behavior the OP mentioned is a violation of the Rules of Conduct you and every players agrees to.

Specifically a violation of RoC Article 1.

You mean this:
While playing Guild Wars 2, you must respect the rights of others and their rights to play and enjoy the Game. To this end, you may not defraud, harass, threaten, embarrass or cause distress and/or unwanted attention to other players. This includes posting insulting, offensive, or abusive comments about players, repeatedly sending unwanted messages, reporting players maliciously, attacking a player based on race, sexual orientation, religion, heritage, etc. Hate speech is not tolerated.

Lets break this down “respecting the rights of other players to play and enjoy the game”. Your rights end where mine begin is the cliche thats most often used like free speech it only grants you the right to speak (generalized to avoid tldr) yet it does not grant you the right to be heard. So in the context of vote kicking the mechanism allowed takes this ROC and gives the person thats leading the conditional right for whatever reason since he invited you to his/her group essentially allowing you the party member to play with him in his private game and at any point for any reason if his/her “enjoyment of the game” changes all they need is one person to agree to remove you from the party.

Now lets look at, “reporting players maliciously”. Now unless you have chat text that was time stamped and can point to it in a grief report that specifically says “HAHA lets kick this noob and bring in a guildie to get their dungeon daily done” how are you to know with 100% certainty why you were kicked from group aside from the reason given, you aren’t telepathic therefore you are just speculating the argument that "they brought in a guildmate isn’t proof it just means they were available to fill the replacement role. So you report them for what you perceive as griefing but unless you meet the minimum requirement of evidence to substantiate your claims for griefing it is you that have violated the ROC for malicious reporting

Now being that this game is the sole property of AN, NcSoft et al they can exercise for ANY reason whatever they want to ban, suspend etc within the confines of the state law in which they operate and US Law in general.

FN: Laws/rules are like a pyramid scheme only applicable to those beneath them and the reason I detest them in favor of natural law.

GUILD wars, try out the GUILD part. It’s kinda fun.

I don’t get these posts.
I have a guild with 400 people, how has that anything to do with this?
Guilds aren’t playing fractals 24/7, this game is not guild only it’s a MMO.

This is griefing you can’t blame it on me. I played perfectly with no death.
When I joined they were in the middle of the first fractal, crying because they couldn’t beat the Elemental after 2 tries.
I said “the Elemental is very easy come see”. We beat it in 5 mins with me in the team.
Colossus? They couldn’t use the kitten hammer, had to do it for them. Never said a word, I just played.
Asura fract, they couldn’t beat the harpies, had to stealth and get them myself.
I could say I carried them over, GW1 Alesia would have been a better teammate.
And then I get kicked at last moment so they can get other guild noobs to rob my reward?
Sorry but this is abuse, exploiting and griefing, and it must be prevented.

You are speculating on their intention without knowledge of forethought all you can do is speculate unless you’re telepathic. My observation from your post is that you come across as arrogant and because of these post a little childish and whinny that alone would get you removed from my group and replaced by whomever guildie or not.

What are you going to report them for they are following the rules set forth by AN by using the voting mechanism how about you set up a petition to make the vote mechanism a super majority instead of wasting their time with frivolous reports.

You are violating the eula/tos when you decided to use the chat system to voice your racist views you are not violating the rules when you the leader votes to remove someone from the group it gives you a list of reasons why you are kicking someone from the group its based on YOUR opinion whether or not its a valid opinion it is still YOUR opinion and is not a violation of ANY rule.

What I do is none of your business I 2box all the time no 3rd party software and a single input device. I also use 3 monitors and ati multi-monitor software for 3x the fov a single monitor provides is this cheating too in your envious eyes?

I read the changes they are planing to do and im not impressed…

Nothing in there will solve the main problems… they should put a developer playing full time in the tier 1 on the underdog side to see the problems of balance, one server has huge queues and the others get steam roled at week time.

On weekend JQ was losing bad cause the numbers were just the same, but at week time they drop queues from 5h to 1h but still a queue and full map wile the other servers can’t keep up… so is it fun having numbers, queues and not skills?

Seems like the only way to win is having queues of many hours, so its an easy fix… just remove the having more numbers = win and you get the queue problem solved…

Also more points at weekend (when its balanced in numbers at tier1) and less during week its also fair (= to all) and will make the pugs lose and spread out to the lower servers because they probably don’t like to have long queues and still lose

Or just force balance making those queues even longuer for them so they transfer cause of boredoom and because they cannot win with numbers solving the queue problem (not a good idea but its something…)

JQ losing bad a 3k difference from 1st-3rd is not bad. Who says its balanced on weekend you have those internal numbers I know for me weekends are for outside the house time not lock myself in my home office to play a video game time.

Numbers are skills just ask the Chinese army when they invaded the Korean pennisula.

If anything you should be looking at reducing 100 cap for siege weapons to make more room in zones.

They also may prohibit to use any pets, summons, minis, turrets etc. at the WvW – it will free a lot of space, I’m sure ^^
Also, they can remove all monsters from the WvW, also as all gathering nodes too.

If all of it will not help – the last chance must be defragmentation of the server drives ^^

add remove all pve from wv3 jumping puzzles, to skill point to map completion

Server load plays little to no effect on culling. Their network code and game engine just don’t sync well during any type of teleportation, stealth mechanic where player or players moves from point a to point b thats the problem. I have a steady sub 30ms network latency with + 60fps even during major garrison seiges and still get the culling.

Heres the fix remove all movement boons, stealth and teleportation until they fix it kind of like the orb fix restricting access to wv3 or limiting it will not fix culling.

Its a pretty clear indication that the forum consensus is a resounding NO to level increases so it will definitely happen because ANET thinks forum post are not indicative to the overall opinion of players. We shall see.

Christ Whiteside (i think it was) said that GW1 was stagnate in it’s limited progression.

How can he possibly say that when the success of that game allowed them to develop this one? How stagnate could it possibly have been when it was Anet’s most successful title?

Well Guildwars 1 did have stagnant progression, the level cap was the same from release. And I think Guildwars 2 is their most successful title.

And you would be wrong.
