I never really understood why people do the queensdale champion farm when stuff like the Frostgorge champion farm is much better and more profitable. Is it just that the smaller servers don’t get enough players to start a train or something?

It’s more profitable for sure, but the Queensdale one had the benefits of giving karma and events for the daily also and it’s accessible for all the below 80 level people to jump in. The FG one has a tendency to fall apart as people tire of it and leave and it doesn’t have the all the below 80 level people coming in to keep it going.

They could bring out one of the Guild Wars 1 April fools, like the one where everyone turned into black stick figures or the one where all the characters switched sexes.

At most, scale it up to the Fire Elemental level. That one is in a noob zone also but is capable of downing level 80s and it keeps people from standing in one spot and chatting while fighting. But no more than that. He is in a low level area and that’s one of the first bosses people see when starting, and just learning how to play.

I was able to transmute my armor skins I bought from the gem store, no problem. I put it on a low level character and transmuted all the way to her level 80 armor. It is set up to be transmuted. Maybe you hit a bug.

One thing I would worry about if I was holding one of these rifles for later resale is, would there still be interest in it? Once this Living Story is several months past and there is another LS with its villain and heroes with release of their unique weapon skins, Scarlet’s Rainbow will be old news and I suspect, mostly forgotten. Maybe some interest because of it being with the first LS, but I would have to wonder if it is enough to sustain interest and the high price.

Yes they do account rollbacks but they do then to the nearest point they have before the hack. This means any items in the account from that point on will be gone, so you still can’t get the items back.

The only real chance of getting the items is if your friend gets his account back, the items are still in his account AND he does not request a rollback, even if all his characters are stripped and deleted. If he gives you the items back and then requests a rollback they will refuse it. There policy is to refuse rollbacks to people who give or sell items before the rollback.

it is somewhat pervy to sit here and check your breast size before and after pictures but after staring at your ummmm, chest region, I couldn’t see a big difference. Maybe because of the lighting being so different? I guess it’s smaller but for me, with such different lighting, it’s hard to see in the picture.

Yeah, unfortunately you are not the only one who has had this happen to them. The only way to minimize it is to restrict permissions but even that doesn’t always work or it may not be feasible in a small guild made up of a group of friends. However the way the game is set up, guild banks can’t be rolled back the way accounts can and since the items and gold are usually quickly removed from the hacked account, there isn’t any way to get them back from there.

Sorry, I’m afraid you are out of luck. Items in a guild bank are not attached to an account and if removed, whether legitimately or not because of a hack, they are gone for good. Support will not return them.

The reason why is because the hacker gets rid of the items. He sells or salvages them and either way they are gone.

No, it’s not possible for someone to hack you because you rezzed them. That person who told you that was either misinformed or trolling you.

However there still may be a use for some of the items.

Greetings all,
As of March 18th, Alliance Supplies will stop dropping and you will not be able to receive any new Found Belongings or Found Heirlooms. Related to this, you will no longer be able to turn in Found Belongings and Found Heirlooms for items.

Generally account name changes are given if it’s based on real world information but maybe they don’t consider last name only to be sufficient. You can try to discuss it further with them by updating your ticket but if it doesn’t cross the privacy threshold they have set then it’s unlikely it will be changed.

I for one appreciate the efforts ANet has put in to making the game and game chat clean and friendly. Keep up the good work.

You are not allowed to discuss forum moderation. What we are discussing here is ingame chat moderation.

The people who are arguing they can reinterpret pay to win to mean something besides pay to win remind me of the character in Through the Looking Glass, Humpty Dumpty, as he explains how he can use any word he wants any way he wants.

How is anet responsible for the zone chat ? Thats a player base mentality…of all,you should thank the players for not constantly talking sexism,racism,homophobia.I fail to see how this is due to anet.

It’s due to ANet handing out suspensions starting at 72 hours for offensive chat. Each succeeding suspension is increased in length. If you know you are going to be removed from the game for 3 days or more it makes you think twice before making certain remarks.

The only ones who can possibly help you is support. Contact them and make out a ticket and see what they can do. Top of page-support, top of page-submit a request.

It’s thanks to ANet actually taking reports of offensive ingame chat seriously and handing out suspensions, even bannings. The knowledge that there are actual repercussions for offensive language has a definite cleansing effect. There are periodic outraged posts on the Account forum from people who were suspended for language. There was even one where someone posted on behalf of a person who was banned for language. The most amusing ones are the ones that claim innocence and Gaile gets on and says no and why not.

It’s because of how the story was written. It wasn’t plotted out by a person, but by the departments. Not only is it a story written by committee, it’s a story written by multiple Living Story committees. There were several different groups working on different segments of this story and each group has an incentive to make the story as streamlined as possible. Adding plot twists and complications on a segment they need to get done in a month is not only extra work but causes problems and extra work for the next group to take up the story.

The 7 day wait is for people who have already transferred one time already and then there is a cooling off period before they can transfer again. How does this relate to someone who has just bought the game, have not yet made a character and therefore has not yet previously transferred?

Well, if it’s a bug then the only people who can help you is support. They should be able to get to you fairly quick. You could spend that time making a character, checking out the low level areas and finding out where stuff is.

Even though she knows how it happened she should go ahead and do a security sweep of her computer. One reason why is, she might be wrong and it was actually stolen through another method. Once she gets her account back and her computer is secure she can ask for an Account Restoration, which is a rollback of the account to a date before the theft. She will get all her items, gold and progress up to that day. This is normally only once per account per the lifetime of the account so it’s important that her computer is secure and it doesn’t happen again.

If she doesn’t have the IP authorization set up then I would recommend she get that. That will stop people from getting into her computer from a different site even if they know the login.

I’ve read reports of people getting that message after getting kicked from the game. It may sometimes be caused by lag in the connection so that the host hasn’t gotten the message that you are gone before you try to log back in.

If you changed your password and checked the security on your computer but found nothing that is probably good enough.

I don’t know why you should be locked in for six days before you even have a character made. I do know that normally you should be able to switch servers if you have no characters. Try making one, deleting it, then make another. See if the option to chose a server pops up then.

If you are forced to wait the full 6 days, you can transfer for free then by deleting all your characters at the end of the 6 days and making one more. You should get an option to chose a server then. You can always guest to Borlis pass to play with your friends while waiting.

Guardian or ranger. Guardian because they are very tanky. Ranger because you can let your pet hold agro while you stand off at range and shoot it.

Watch out for advice like this. Play like this guy, and you’ll be terrible forever. Just how bad are you and how new?

My advice? Play an Ele and gear him/her for the highest DMG output your level can afford. Why? Because you won’t get to lean on Aegis. You won’t get to lean on Healing Signet and a high health pool. You’ll learn to dodge, you’ll learn to use your mobility. You’ll learn to mitigate damage. Do this, and you’ll be a much better player for it.

Then if you do play a Guardian, you won’t be the one who wastes all of his Aegis on himself because he can’t stay alive. You wont be the Warrior ranging any remotely difficult boss because you didn’t learn how to dodge but just ‘face-tanked’ easy mobs. You wont be the Ranger QQing because no group will take him in full PVT/Bearbow.

Shrug. Not everyone does dungeons. There are many who only solo or at most with one or two friends. Some people have laggy connections. Others have physical disabilities which make fast, twitch play difficult. Others may find ‘right on time’ skills too difficult for them to manage. Many others are just casual players who only like to explore or just run around doing nothing in particular. For these people a ranger shooting at a distance while the pet holds agro fit their style of play.

For example, a person I sometimes plays with is a classic bearbow ranger. She never does dungeons and probably never will except rarely with a group of friends. The bearbow ranger is her best choice because not only is she extremly casual but also because she is in fairly severe, chronic pain and has trouble concentrating on the game.

Not everyone is the same. Not everyone is going to improve or they will only improve slowly. Yet they still want to play. For these people, a easy mode way of playing is the best.

Before a guild switches servers, they should know or remember that their guild bank will not follow them to the new server. All influence and upgrades remain tied to the old server and if all members move without cleaning out the vaults then all gold and items will remain behind and be inaccessible.

The only ones that can ban are ANet employees. Other players, acting as vigilantes or not, can only report. This report then has to go through the system and then be acted upon by someone in support. This normally takes a day or two, which is why it is unusual for someone to be banned at the time they are actually doing something.

If support was sloppy then their procedures need to be examined. I would suggest you post your ticket number in the stickied thread, however they have changed the support tickets and old information may be no longer retrievable as well as this being an old and resolved case. I got a “permanent” mistaken ban for gold selling/buying and I’ve heard of others so I know that support does make mistakes. You might have to just have to put it down as ‘one of those things’.

After thinking about it a while, I can remember one case similar to what you are saying. That case is the bans/suspensions concerning the linen farm exploit on Fireheart rise where large numbers of people on one or two servers at the end of Dec 2013 were banned at once. Allegedly, from unconfirmed reports, some of these people said they were simply in the area and were innocent. In this one case it seems ANet did a mass ban to stop an exploit and then did reversals on a case by case basis.

If this is what happened to you then I apologize for suggesting you were lying.

If they raise the levels and don’t also raise the levels on ascended gear to match I personally will have a conniption fit. The outcry and tears from all those who spent hundreds of gold, and for the ones equipping alts, months of time making ascended armor and weapons would flood the forum.

Personally I would get the warrior up level 72, or level normally up to level 60 then use the scrolls to get to level 80. Having one character at level 80 is more valuable to you than 2 characters at mid level. You can do dungeons and do the meta events (dragons, temples, etc.) and get level 80 rewards as well as having access to the high level zones for farming T6 mats.

It kind of depends I think on how much you have been playing lately and your last log in dates. Have you been playing more recently than that? Or has it been close to a year?

Hmmm you might try engineer again, but keep it simple. I used rifle and turrets on mine and I thought the engineer was weak. Then I discovered bombs and grenades. My engie went from weak to very strong. I use rifle on approach to single targets and grenades on multiple targets. At melee range I switch to bombs. My engie kills easily and dies infrequently.

So if your in a party with same tag near a bot hotspot, then a dev or vigilante will get you all banned and its perma.

The only time I have read of anything like this is the reports of one ANet employee for one day handing out suspensions for people AKFing at LA. I haven’t seen any other threads or reports of what you are saying and I strongly suspect there is more to your story than what you are saying right now. Such a ban can not be upheld. If this was appealed to Gaile and she investigated it, it would not hold. Are you are accusing her of incompetence or upholding unjust bans?

So, if you have a true case (which I doubt) then report it to Gaile. Put your ticket number in the stickied thread, Tickets for Review, 3 Days and older.

If you have more than one level 80 you can get the big chest reward that has the dragonite more than once a day, just switch characters and do it again. You can also guest on 2 other servers for a max of 3 so check the events on all 3 servers and be ready to switch servers and characters.

The low level events such as The Maw and the Jungle Wurm give 3-5, mid level ones such as the dragons and the Golem give 15-25 and Temples and the Karka Queen give 30.

Personally I think the chance of an update/fix for them hovers around zero. The event they came off of is almost over and people have mostly stopped posting about it. In other words, they have no incentive to change them.

Good luck. Support should be able to get his account back for him. If he lost items and wants them back they can do a rollback of the account to a time before the hack.

If you don’t have a way to mark out the names from the pictures, go to your post and use the pencil icon at bottom right to remove the pictures from the post.

If you don’t know how to do that you can self report your post using the far right icon (that looks like a flag) at bottom right to ask a moderator to remove the pictures.

To report the person go to top of page-support then top of page-submit a request. You can send the pictures to them, although they will be able to see the chat logs anyway.

That email was from someone trying to steal his account. He gave them the information and they stole it, that’s why the password is changed and he can’t log on.

So now he needs to contact support and retrieve his account. Top of page-support, then top of page-submit a request.

ANet will never contact someone first like that. If there is a problem with the account, they deactivate it and wait for the owner to contact them to resolve it. Any emails out of the blue like that are from thieves.
