Rare gear, level 68 and higher, can be salvaged to get mats, runes/sigils and/or ectos. I check the prices of the gear on the trading post and compare it to the price of ectos. If it sells close to the price of an ecto I sell it directly, otherwise I salvage it. I personally sell it when it’s about 90% of the value of an ecto but I’ve never done the math to justify that selling point. To salvage rares I always use either a masters or mystic salvage kit.

There is no crafting guide because neither cooking nor jeweler can go above level 400 yet. When they will be increased has not yet been said either.

Check your spam and junk folders, sometimes Support’s emails get sent to there. If you can’t find them then post your ticket number in the above stickied thread, ‘Tickets for review, 3 days and older’ for Gaile to check it.

Sounds like some sort of bug. The login for the forum should last several hours. I haven’t read of anyone else reporting this problem. Maybe you should post in the ‘Forum and Website Bugs’ forum.

I like the Living World. It puts fresh content in on a frequent basis. If they set it up so people can access past cutscenes then that will address many of the complaints of those who missed past episodes or just want to relive it. If they didn’t have it, there is only so many times you can repeat map completions, dungeons, jumping puzzles, etc.. before it gets stale. The Living Story gives a change of pace to those who want it and can be ignored by those who don’t.

That doesn’t mean it can’t be improved, but needing improvement is not the same as a failure, no matter what.

Once completed, please try starting Guild Wars 2 again. Please let us know the results of this test at your earliest convenience.

Double-clicking Guild Wars 2 Repair will begin the repair process. The game will launch when it is complete".

I asked a moderator to move this thread to the Tech Support forum as this is about all I can suggest and you can get better help over there. If they don’t move it within a day or so you might start a thread there.

Well, if the accounts are linked then password resets will hit both since they have the same login. I guess you tried Inculpatus’ suggestion and unclicked the remember account name and remember password on both Guild Wars 1 and Guild Wars 2 login? Have you also tried a client repair, in case you have corrupted files?

I live on the edge of an decent connection. If I’m lucky I get 1 or 2 bars of 3G. If I’m not lucky, I get zero bars of 3G or even zero bars of 2G. I’ve found that having a minipet out is useful. I keep an eye on it while running around. If I see it stop moving I know I’m lagging and need to stop until it starts again and catches up. If I run up to a node and can’t harvest it and I see the minipet is standing off a few feet, I know the game thinks I’m actually over there and not by the node and either need to wait till the mini runs over to me or go to character select to reset my position.

It’s one of the time gated ascended crafted materials along with for example, lump of mithrilium and glob of elder spirit residue. The time gated ascended ones can be crafted once per day per account. The 24 hours starts at reset.

I have one of each profession and I try to play each equally. It means I’m a ‘Jack of all trades, master of none’ sort of player but I have fun. Each one plays differently and I’m don’t get bored using the same skills day after day.

From what they have said, while they do discipline the scammer you will not get any of your stuff back. By the time they get involved, the scammer has normally salvaged, sold or transferred the items to another account.

Sorry you got scammed. Chalk it up to learning not to trust strangers on the internet. With any luck they will terminate his account and you get the last laugh that way.

Yes, very. I was having daily password resets but it turned out to be linked with my iPad’s ‘remember passwords’ setup. When I accessed the forum on my iPad it made the game reset my password. I turned that off, cleaned out the list of remembered passwords and the problem eventually, not immediately, fixed itself.

Maybe you are having a similar problem. Maybe remove and clean out any remember password programs.

Since they are changing not only Beserkers gear but traits to encourage support, they might give an option to switch stats. It’s what they did with the magic find gear when they changed that in the game.

If you are only playing the game now and then, that’s rather like working now and then but expecting to be able to buy expensive luxury goods. That’s what Scarlet’s Kiss is, an expensive luxury item.

So either figure out how to work the market, exchange gems for gold or downgrade your wants to fit your pocketbook.

My guardian was beside her when she said that, wearing the same heavy armor for over a year without removing it even once, and still as fresh smelling as a daisy. (It’s those guardian virtues and Signet of Resolve. They cleanse and block odors every 10 seconds too). ^^

You can’t post his name, name and shame posts are forbidden. One reason is, how do you tell the true posts from the people who are deliberately lying to cause problems for another person. A second reason is, the old “innocent till proven guilty” thing.

You made a ticket and support will deal with it from there. That’s all you can do.

Your best bet may be to go to the PvP locker and preview the pants on file there.

If you bought it with gems and it’s in your purchase history then you are a good candidate to get a replacement if it can’t be located. Contact support and see what they can do for you.

Unlike the Uhuru incident most people (If not all) are not asking for any of the female leads to be replaced, just have one or two new male characters join them.

And don’t we all want equal, or more equal, representation. The question is, is it feasible? Is it reasonable? Some men are asking for one or two new male characters, so ANet adds them. Then black people get on and say, there are no black (Elonan) people. We need just one or two black people. So ANet adds one or two black people. Then Asian people get on and say, there is only the token Asian (person with Canthan heritage). We need more of them. So ANet adds another Canthan person. Then heterosexuals say, we need a romance between a man and a woman, we can’t relate to 2 women. So ANet adds a man and woman for that.

You can’t make a good, tight story if you are adding people by quota.

One thing is, we are looking at this matter from 2 different starting points. You are looking at what’s going on right now. This story lacks sufficient men for you. I am looking at it in a more historical point of view.

Let’s turn your request around. Let’s say it’s been men who for centuries have been underrepresented in public. Not allowed to own businesses. Unable to get higher education. Women hold all the important jobs and dominate politics. Currently, men’s few roles in games have been usually stereotyped as either the one who needs to be rescued or the sex object. Now one game comes out and for one story for a couple of months, men have more representation than women and have been given front and center roles. Women come on the forum and say, I can’t relate to a bunch of men. Add more women. Now, of course the women are absolutely correct in wishing more equal representation but is it truly a pressing matter to give it to women here, right now, when they have it essentially everywhere else in the world?

No, I’m more referring more to the ones that say they can’t relate to the NPCs in the story line because they are female and asking to that the next story line has less females and more men for that reason.

Women have endured centuries of not being represented and not having strong females to look up to, to having the women shown as being less than men. If men are uncomfortable with just one story in just one game not having a majority cast of men and the man not being the major lead person, maybe they need to consider why they are uncomfortable and feel it so necessary to ask for fewer women and more men.

The tone of some of the comments in this, and similar threads, has brought to mind an account I read in a book about the first Star Trek and the people in it.

Star Trek was one of the first tv programs to have black people starring in it as regulars and not cameo roles. Previously to these shows, black people had stock roles in film as comedy relief, Step and Fetchit for example, not serious roles showing them as real people. They commonly were portrayed as ignorant and foolish.

The story I am thinking of concerned Uhuru. They received a fan letter for her and in it the writer praised her for being a good actress and had several other nice things to say about her. At the end though, he confessed that seeing black people on tv made him uncomfortable and he requested that she be removed from the show and a white person put in her place.

So how does this story relate to this thread? Suppose there was a story line with 4 black people and one white person, who wasn’t an intellectual giant, and there was a thread saying, I can’t relate to black people, they have to be white for me to relate to a story told by them. Next story line, please put in more white people. Also, make sure the white people are smarter, better, stronger than the one you have now.

I’m sure the people who are saying they are uncomfortable with so many women and who have trouble relating to them are perfectly sincere, but sexism and racism have some things in common, which they might wish to keep in mind. Women, like black people, are underrepresented in games and other places and when they are present they, like black people were, are often given caricature stock roles. When I as a woman, hear a man say that he can’t relate to a story having so many women and please give us more men, it does sound a bit like the “fan” writer asking for fewer scenes with Uhuru and more with white people.

For something like an offensive guild, display or pet name, I personally would use the forum support system because as you noticed, there is no way to report these ingame. Be sure to give the Display name, character name, date and time as well as what you are reporting.

I agree with you both, which is why we should have a more even representation on both sides, with enough characters and diverse personalities so that everyone can find someone they at least partially relate to or generally just find likable. (Men and women alike)

Not all pain is bad. Sometimes feeling for yourself what others have gone through is what gives you true compassion. Women have had years of nonrepresentation or token representation in many games, with the female being stupid or ditzy, a helpless girl who must always be rescued or someone whose main task is to stand around scantily clad. Maybe it’s a good thing that guys have a couple of months to feel discomfort about being treated the same way. As they say, the shoe pinches when it’s on the other foot, and here the guys are feeing the pinch. Maybe next time that they buy and play a game where it’s 4 guys and the token girl they will remember this feeling, go on the forum and say, “we want more strong female characters”!

No one knows as yet. I suggest waiting to see what they say in their next few posts. But most likely there will be an option to get a refund if you paid real money for them. If you paid gold, who knows.

ANet does take action. 72 hours suspension for the first offense. Each succeeding offense is longer, up to complete account termination if it continues.

And yes, people do get suspended. I have read a number of threads in the Account forum from people who were suspended for language who were outraged that they were expected to control themselves. I read one post from a friend of a banned person asking for reinstatement.

I know of one or two cases where support transferred people back who transferred accidentally, but in each of those cases it cost them gems to transfer. If it cost you gems then contact support. If it was free, then idk. You can try. If you don’t do much WvW then you can just wait it out and guest if you need to.

If you haven’t haven’t already done so, check any alts you have, see if you transferred it to one of them but forgot. Also check your inventory in bank, characters and personal guild bank if you have one.

Support may or may not be able to help you. If you got it from the gem store then probably yes. If you got it from the trading post then probably no. To contact support, go to top of page-support, then top of page-submit a request. Make a ticket from there.

Are you using an iPad or iPhone to access the forum? There is a bug with the “remember password” feature with some of the Apple iOS versions that causes the game to forget your password if you log onto the forum with it.

Pretty sure the major NPCs have a unique look that is reserved to them.

A zone resets (and nodes change) every time it is unloaded and then loaded again. Now, this always happens when the servers are down for patching/maintenance/whatever, but a lot of people also suspect it happens whenever the zone is completely empty of players. So if a zone has exactly zero players in it, the server unloads it from memory to save resources, and reloads it when a player enters it again.

The sad part of this theory is that it means GW2 is losing a fair amount of players.

Or they are doing the big zerg events instead of doing boring farming runs. Since I kept on being thrown into overflows with the LA events, this shows a lot of people were doing that, getting their blade shards for the ascended backpieces for example.

If you just want to visit the Hall of Monuments you can get a portal stone for free from a merchant named Scornheart who is in Vigilant Hills, the camp outside the Vigil keep.

Why is it only gold? There should be some of the items stored in the banks also. Maybe one or 2 Legendaries lying there taunting us, so close yet so far away.

I’ve noticed unstable node sites beginning with the start of the LA events. I am assuming its because that event pulled high numbers of people to it, including the people who would normally be out farming. Once people get back to doing the farm runs the nodes should stabilize again.

Edit: the map I noticed it on is Frostgorge which is where I do most of my ori/ancient wood farming on 9 characters.

Gw1 did that also once. Everyone was the size of a mini and all the minis were people sized.

There is a thread in this forum here asking for the heirloom merchant to come back for a short while. Maybe you can add your request to it. Who knows, the Devs might do it.

I think a nice addition would be a special wallet for gathering tools, so we can transfer the EL tools from one character to another.

What I’ve seen requested is account wide bags. All items in there are accessible to all characters that have these bags. Of course that would mean you have to buy one for each character, and knowing ANet it would probably be 800 gems each, but it’s an interesting idea.

I don’t see how anyone on the forum can help you. It will require access to the game codes, which means support. The only thing you can do at this point is either update your old ticket or if it’s closed start a new one (with a reference number to the old ticket) to have support check.

The vendors were removed and probably will not return.
