I’ve been thinking about that. They said they will sell a gem store item that expands your crafting inventory stack size to 500, but this is a drop in the bucket. I’ve made 2 guild banks with 50 slot inventory each to hold mats. If that’s not enough I may have to resort to making mules. Not a good workaround really since you can’t craft from the guild banks or mules. Which means shuffling inventory around.

Why do you need a character name? It isn’t necessary to know one to log into Guild Wars 2. All you need when logging in is your email and your password.

The manuals are to open up the trait line as you are leveling, not to reallocate traits. One of the things a trainer also offers is to reallocate traits. This is significantly cheaper than a manuel.

The last few days I’ve been kicked to the character screen within the last minute or two of several boss fights. One time I got back on just in time to see the big chest disappear. The other times I didn’t even see that, just came back to a finished event and no reward. At least have the event keep track of your contribution for a few minutes after you get kicked to the character screen.

I can see it forgetting if you log out completely, but it should remember if you are still logged on but at the character screen.

Well, just as an example. You could have said something to someone and that person holds off on reporting it for a day or two. Maybe they log out and don’t play for a while. And when something gets reported, it still needs to be researched of course. Depending on how busy support is it may take a while. So, it possible it’s from the previous day.

How recently is recently? It could be hours to a day or more, depending on when a person reports something and how busy support is.

Maybe they could add empty slots to the accessory color section. And add an option to the dyes, like the PvP option for armor. Where it asks you if you want to make this dye accessory dye. Of course then you would still need to buy a hair changer kit to change the color on your character, but maybe that’s a possibility.

I’m going to guess that it’s tied together with hair color. That is, the game considers it to be not an separate accessory but hair that you can dye. That there are 2 hair color dye sections. One is what is normally considered hair and the other is the accessory. And since it’s “hair” it doesn’t have access to armor dyes.

To make it accessible to armor dye, would they have to code it as armor? And would that make it clash with the helms? There may be a reason why they have it separated out the way it is.

iirc, the reason why they didn’t have older faces is because of the storyline. You are a young person just setting out into the world. I think they felt the older faces would be inappropriate for this reason. For this reason, I think they won’t offer mature faces. The only thing you can do is take a face and attempt to make it look older.

I got told in another thread that there was plenty of dragonite if you do the temples. So I thought, ok, I’ll try that. Saw Dwayna was up. Ran over there and…… No one. I looked at the Risen Priestess. She looked at me. I realized that the 11 hours it showed on the timer meant that no one was coming by soon and wandered off, dragoniteless.

I’m not going to rush it either. Still working on weaponsmith and once I get that I’ll get melee weapons for all my characters. Then the other 2 crafting the same. Armor will probably be dead last on my list, which means months before I touch it. I’ll just accumulate mats till that day.

I can think of a way it might work in the open world. The toggle downlevels you below the mobs in the area. Currently, iirc, you are downleveled to 2 levels above the mobs. Making the downleveling harsher would be like upleveling the mobs.

You are not going to get an explanation or any type of discussion from support, from the reason I put in my earlier post. You are not going to get what you want. You will have to accept what you got and go on.

I sell mine. At 20 silver each pre tax, you can sell one and buy a bunch of basic dyes for your collection.

Right now these kits have some flaws. They don’t show weapons, vanity backpieces and some of the armor headpieces. The result of this is you don’t know about clipping issues until you hit accept. I got one of the new hairstyles for my thief and then found out it clipped badly with my shortbow.

It’s weird when you think about it. Anet are sitting on a potential gold-mine for Gem Store items yet they do nothing about it. They just offer a few miniatures and dyes with a sprinkling of ‘fun’ items like boxing gloves and a couple of hats.

There’s a cook’s outfit – doesn’t even LOOK like a cook (where’s the chef’s hat?).

imo they messed up with the town clothes. I think they should have used the gw1 costume system where they went over armor and you kept your stats and skills. They could have made very nice outfits that were compatible with the look of the game for people to wear in combat. These here are costumes from Guild Wars 1, wearable in combat, that I think are good examples of costumes compatible with this game.

The male human looks nice. Unfortunately I don’t have a male human. I have a male Sylvari and the poofiness bug hits hard, as usual.

But i am curious about what the IP from NCSoft is doing there.
It is not authorized but connected at the same time as i connected.

Is someone using the NCSoft network to bypass login authentication?
Is it an employee from NCSoft doing all that?

Should i question them or should i claim that it is a fact that someone from NCSoft is doing something bad?

As to them ever telling you the details of why you were banned, they don’t, as a matter of policy. People who are breaking TOS could use that sort of information to figure out how to avoid detection. So, ANet doesn’t hand it out to anyone. They reinstated you. Your best bet now is just to accept they made a mistake and go on. I read what they said to you. It’s possibly phrased like that for legal reasons. When you see statements of that sort, when you were reinstated and you know you didn’t do anything, then that’s legalese speaking.

For those who think that these new hairstyles should be included in character creation now and be free.

That’s fine for all the new accounts or for old accounts who want to make a new character. Otherwise, old accounts are going to have to purchase the kits. Don’t you think that people who have already have level 80s wouldn’t complain about this? The forums would go ballistic if new people got these for free and old accounts didn’t. They can get these for free with ingame gold now and people are complaining.

So what would ANet have to do to make the complainers happy? Mail out kits for every character slot you have? After all, you might want to change each one. And why about when/if more hairstyles come out? Or new faces? Should ANet mail out additional hair and total makeover kits each time they make more options? To everyone that has ever bought the game and one for each character slot?

ANet is offering a non essential vanity upgrade. An upgrade that was not included in the initial purchase price. If it was your business, and you included a vanity upgrade on an item would you give your work away for free to every one of the millions of people who had bought the basic package a year before? What would you say to a customer who told you that you should have done this work a year ago and in addition, it should be free now?

Everyone of course wants free items. I want free items myself. But you have to consider it from the point of view of the business. its not reasonable to expect a business to do work and then hand it over for free. I very much doubt that many of the people complaining here works for free on a regular basis.

Like I said, they are a business. They are here to make money. While they may occasionally give away free stuff, they can’t be expected to do so continuously. Would you go to a store and complain because they aren’t handing out free stuff, even if they did it before? No one would take you seriously if you did that. They would just look at you and think, “what an entitled person. Coming here and demanding free stuff”.

As to whether ANet may later charge for the LS. Again. They are a company. They will do what they need to do to survive and make money. If it turns out that people refuse to buy gem store items enough, maybe because they are demanding everything for free, then they might need to charge for the LS. You can’t fault a company for doing what it needs to do. I read all these posts where people get mad about something and say, I’m not buying anymore from the gems store because they made me mad about this change to the game". If enough people do this, the money has to come from somewhere and it’s either then charge for an expansion or charge for the living story. They will do what is best for them.

If you get suspended, it’s not for what you are doing right then, it’s for something you did in the past. You account will be reported by someone. It goes to a support person who has other reports and tickets received before yours. When he gets to yours he has to research the report to see if it’s true. If true, only then will you get a suspension. Depending on how busy they are and the amount of research, it could easily be hours to a couple of days from report to suspension.

ANet is a company. Their reason for existing is to make money which they do by selling an entertainment product. If they gave free new hair styles to new characters only then the old accounts would be massively complaining about that. And in case you didn’t know you can get these for free a couple of ways. Through exchanging gold to gems or for waiting for the 5k chest. People can do that and ANet won’t make a dime off these hair kits.

I agree about the horrendous downleveling totally OP. Let me tell you my story.

I go out with my level 80 hammer guardian with full exotics, looking for a worthy foe. In the level 2-5 Norn noob area I find him, a Moa! Narrowing my eyes determinedly we set to battle. He was vicious, let me tell you but I was winning, wise to his cunning tricks. And then this rampaging Minotaur got involved and the tide of battle turned. The Minotaur sent me ignominiously flying and then the Moa raced over and dazed me, the fiend. They batted me back and forth like two kittens with one ball of thread. It was awful! I was downed several times in this epic battle but finally with one massive blow from my mighty hammer, The Icebreaker, I killed that Minotaur and was able to turn to the Moa and polish him off. This battle took me 30 minutes!!!!

After that I staggered back to LA. I needed a drink.

For brand new rangers, I generally recommend bear/bear to start with. They are low damage but very tanky. This means a new ranger has an easy learning curve when learning how to manage pets. When the new ranger has gotten used to watching their health, pulling them away from the target and switching them out as needed, then it’s a good time to change to the more fragile but higher dps pets. It’s discouraging to start off with a pet that dies fast in combat and you aren’t used to keeping an eye out for them.

I picked the same hairstyle for my thief as Defora. Of course it clips horribly with her shortbow but overall I’m very happy with it.

Spiders aren’t bad as a ranger pet. Like all of the pets, their use is situational. They are good as ranged pets that have AOE or controls skills for when you need those.

Recipient cahracter can’t take the item out of the bank to transmute it because it’s ‘soulbound to another character’
If you try to do it using the other (donor) character instead, you get a ‘Transmuting an item makes it soulbound’ message and can’t transmute anyway because the items are not of the same rarity/type

Yah, the character needs to have one (its own) soulbound item and a second non soulbound item. At best you can merge a soulbound towns clothes to a gem store outfit.

After thinking about it, I doubt it would work as the T stones require you to select both a look and a set of stats.

I haven’t bought any town cloths from the gem store. As a guess if you really want to try it out you can buy two shirts, and merge them into one shirt. I don’t see how it would make a cool set of clothes since you can already mix and match if allowed. Transformation will only lose you an item without gaining anything.

I wonder if its a bug related to this: To prevent unintended graphical anomalies with hairstyles and faces, all sylvari body patterns have been adjusted aesthetically to blend as nicely as possible.

The people who decide how much to charge for something and how it’s set up as account or soulbound are the marketing people, not the Devs. They go to college and that’s what they study. If they decide that some items will make more money as soul bound then that’s how they will sell it. And yes, they want to milk you that much. Their job, what they get paid for, is to bring in the maximum amount of money for the company. They get recognition and bonuses based on that. That’s how all companies operate. To think that a company, including ANet, is not going to maximize profits is not looking at it right.

They may be selling entertainment but they are selling. And they exist to make money.

You have to have something to transmute to in order to break the soulbinding. That is, another towns clothes. You would have to lose that skin, if it works. I know it works for armor and weapons. I’ve never heard of anyone transmuting town cloths.

Also when transmuting, the original character does the first step to breaking the soulbinding. Which means it would have to have 2 towns clothes to transmute together.

8 level 80s that I’m trying to get ascended trinkets for and now the ascended weapons. Next will be ascended armor. That’s a lot of laurels. It will be a long time before I will have laurels to spare.

Note that you cannot also obtain another copy of the equipment item you pick during character creation. THAT is a pretty glaring oversight, IMO.

Actually you can get another equipment/armor item from character selection. It does require that you have a free character slot though and a couple of level appropriate T-stones.

You make a character with the item you want. Then you transmute that item to a low level white item of the same type. This breaks the soulbinding. You can then put it in the bank and the other character can pick it up and transmute the skin to the piece it is using.

I did it with the necro mask and the ele ‘floating glowing stone mask’ (whatever that headpiece is called) from character creation. Transmuted and put them on my regular characters,

Would have to have a new profession with it for me. I already have one of each profession and at least one of each race. Another race without a new profession would be useless for me.

And since most people chose human rather than another race, having a new race every 4 months would mean they would be quickly neglected except for a handful of people.
