From an interview with ANet:
Q: Tequatl update is nice but it destroys your party, home server due to overcrowded home servers and overflows
A: We are aware of it and actively discussing it.We were hoping originally it would take days/weeks for players to defeat Tequatl instead of 12 hrs.
http://dulfy.net/.../26/gw2-eurogamer-expo-livestream-notes/
Good Lord. They were expecting people to fail for WEEKS! And still be doing this in the hundreds, every 90 minutes. Is this a sound judgement of player behavior? Especially since this game was supposed to be casual friendly.
Yah, she’s a persistent little number. I suspect ANet can turn off the gift giving now.
I wonder if new accounts get these. If they do, it would almost be like ANet is trolling them. “Ohh a present from someone”. Opens. BLAM!
The part I like about the ranger sword is that it has a “follow”. The third stage, the kick, moves you to the target. So if the target moves away from you, you automatically follow it. You don’t have as many misses where the target has moved away from you and you hit empty air. I don’t PvP and I suspect the rooting at the kick stage is a problem there. It’s not nearly as much as a problem in PvE, but some people dislike the loss of character control.
Lot of people complain about the ranger sword as it roots you in the autoattack at the third stage, which means you can’t dodge right then.
The warrior sword is nice. Has a leap to target.

Just to be sure, is he checking his junk and spam folders? It’s not unusual for them to go in one of those and sometimes people don’t see them in there.

I thought the restoration tool didn’t work anymore since mid 2012 or is that only for the original guild wars?
Idk about Guild Wars 1 but people have been getting account restorations in Guild Wars 2, including one of my guildies.
Did a google and found a thread.

“Hi everyone,
Just posting to inform you all that selling dungeon runs its NOT against the rules. People are free to do so. Please, exercise extreme caution to avoid getting scammed.
Thanks for your understanding.”
People sold dungeon runs in Guild Wars 1 for many years. ANet doesn’t seem to have a problem with it as long as people aren’t scamming others.
Now whether they like people advertising on their LFG is another question.
Yes, email and password. Same login as the forum.
Good to know of some that are 24/7, or close to it. Helps when guesting. Thanks for the names. :-)

From responses I’ve read, they can’t or don’t go into accounts and add or remove items. The only thing they offer is a full account restoration to a specific point in time, once in an account’s lifetime and only for hacked accounts. Which indicates to me that this is time consuming and labor extensive and therefore expensive. Support has a budget to keep within and if they did account rollbacks every time someone made a mistake they would quickly go over it. If they offered it, they would have to do it for trivial reasons. One guy salvaged an ecto and wanted support to give it back. He filed a support ticket and made a thread about it in the forum. This sort of thing would tie up manpower for people who have real account problems, making solving their problems take longer.
I thought it went away after you did the boss week meta?
Hmmm. Maybe. I did them fairly close in time together, within 24 hours.. But I don’t remember which I did first now.
But that might be it, if its tied to the meta then you don’t “need” it after you finish it. However it does make it hard to do Tequatl now since I never know when it’s on, unless I want to camp that zone for hours.
Two days ago, after I finally managed to defeat Tequatl, the UI notification of the event disappeared. Now I don’t know when this event happens. Is this a bug or does this happen for everyone?
I have 9 level 80s. I keep them all parked in Frostgorge and hit the ori and ancient wood nodes daily. Or you can keep each one parked at a chest and open it daily to get empyreal fragments.
They come and go. There isn’t a 24 hour one. If I’m looking for one I check my home server then guest to 2 others. There is usually one going on one of them.
Maybe you need to do another of the daily boss achieves. It’s usually either Tequatl or Tequatl/some other world boss. It alternates. Today is the Tequatl/other so try doing something like the Maw, Jungle wurm, Tequatl or other like this.
Here is something I found:
https://pay.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/1lz1b0/psa_explanation_of_how_harvesting_nodes_produce/
With the recent rise in prices for Orichalcum and Ancient Lumber, I was a bit disappointed to see this old bug raising it’s head. This post is here to serve a dual purpose. To shed more light on a bug that has long been reported and to help spread awareness to the player base on how to avoid it.
The issue that most find is that they will start harvesting a high value node in Orr and be partway through it while under attack and suddenly they go from receiving good product to ruined chunks/fiber of some sort. Because of how Orichalcum and Ancient Lumber is gathered, 3 per cycle, you will notice it far more with these nodes.
What has happened is that some skill or trait has gone from passive to active while you were harvesting and this has caused you to produce ruined product. For example, when a Ranger has the trait, Shared Anguish (Wilderness Survival III) and gets hit with a daze while harvesting, any immediate product will be ruined. A second example would be on the Elementalist skill Arcane Shield. If the shield takes 3 hits, it explodes. Should the shield take 3 hits while you are harvesting, after it explodes, subsequent product will be ruined. This is very easy to reproduce and should be examined by Anet.
Before you farm Orr, I’d suggest doing a quick once over on your traits and skills to prevent something like the Guardian’s Zealot Speed (Zeal +5 points in) from preventing you from bringing in as many high value goods as you should have.
They see when you are online, where you are and what character you are on. So yes, I find this “great feature” not only a minor annoyance but a rather major one. Btw, blocking is still broken so this doesn`t help.
If someone is following you — that is, they added you as a friend but you have not done the same for them — they will only see that you are online / offline. They will not see where you are or your achievement points like you do with friends or guildmates in the guild panel.
They will still see what map you are on, even if you have them blocked. And if they have game messages enabled then they will be told in chat whenever you log on or off. It will say, synk.6907 is online, in the chat messages.
It’s a great aid for stalkers. They can get told whenever you log on or off and they can see whatever map you are on.

I don’t know about your password problems but the Tx US thing is just it being routed through the Texas server’s IP. If you check this forum there are a couple of posts about it on the first couple of pages.
There is no point in your friends making support tickets. They are not the ones with the problem. They are only clogging up the system and slowing support down with tickets that will only be deleted.
He needs to run a security sweep of his computer and also check for keyloggers. After he is sure his computer is clean he contacts support. He will have to verify ownership and change the password to one never used at any other site. After he gets his account back, he can request an account rollback to get his characters and items from his bank and inventory back. He should be aware that all this may take 2 or 3 days to complete.
I do believe Yumiko has misremembered this. The PvP locker has all the outfits that Guild Wars 2 has available to players. The older named NPCs have unique armor that is not currently available. It is only with the last few months that some of the new named NPC’s armor and weapons have started to become available. Queen Jennah, Anise, and Emi’s armor are not among those, which is why you can’t find them.

Ok, I didnt make that out (you said you could make screenshots, so I interpeted it as a retorical situation). Mabye post the ticket number here. I’m pretty confident the support liason will see this post and she might be interested in it
Gotcha. And…that couldn’t hurt.
Support Ref # is 130903-000558
Open Date: 09/03/2013Last night he was harassing a friend of mine, asking him to find out from me where in Bloodtide Coast I was so that he could find me. My friend sent me a screenshot of this conversation. Can I report him with this even though the conversation was between him and another party?
Since its part of an ongoing harassment of you then yes. Include it on your ticket. He may have talking to a friend but it was about finding you.
How about sigils or other things that are on a timer to do something? Maybe that effects harvesting if it happens just then.
But not guildcapes, oh no! That would totally not fit with the game’s artstyle!
Have they said they aren’t doing these, like officially?
Yes. There was a video interview with Colin Johanson where he says people are working on this on their own time. Apparently there are major technical difficulties with capes and how the characters move. And the way he phrased it, it was all races not just Charr.

There was a thread sometime back talking about the deficiencies of their block system. It doesn’t stop someone who wishes to stalk or harass someone at all, it merely slows them down. If they have you friended and game messages enabled, t still informs them in chat when you log on and off and they can still see what map you are in. It means they have to track you down but if they make a circuit of the map they can find you in a few minutes, particularly if you have favorite places. I’m amazed that ANet would have a system so easily abused. In Guild Wars 1 you couldn’t see the other persons location unless they friended you in return. And of course, they weren’t informed in chat when you log on or off. They should put some sort priority to fixing this before someone carries harassment to far.
They also messed up the Fellblade. It’s now a dull, rusty looking greatsword with a faint smoke coming off it.
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
How about fractals?
You also get decent karma now for killing Tequatl.
If you just want to keep the skins you can break the soulbinding before you delete the character. But that’s the only way. And you will lose the stats.
yea and this could help scammers allot 2.they scam some1 they take his money because some ppl are dumb and give money to ppl they dont know, scammers then block u and then tehy live happily ever after
If people know the names of these scammers, they can report them to support and have them sanctioned. If they don’t know the names, it hardly matters if the scammers block them or not as you can’t contact someone whose name you don’t remember.
Anyway, what you’re saying has nothing to do with what OP is talking about.
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
If they do it will be a good news/bad news sort of thing.
The good news is, they bring back the skins you loved.
The bad news is, they can’t resist “improving” them.
Don’t believe me? Profane armor
You might try this site:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/List_of_karma_merchant_items
ANet has already said if you go outside the trading post and get scammed, you won’t get your gold/items back.
You could have quadrupled your numbers if you were all Mesmers.
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
You may not be using them but other people are. If you don’t want them, delete them. Don’t expect them to redo the game reward system just because it doesn’t personally suit you.
Sounds suspicious imo. If it were me, I would run a full security sweep. Check for keyloggers. Change my password and email and contact support for more advice. Do you have the IP verification set up? If you don’t, you should get that.
Time consuming. Very. You can use heroes or even mercenaries you get from the Guild Wars 1 shop to do content if there aren’t enough people to group with. To just get 30 points can take several months of extensive playing. Fortunately you can pick it up and put it down. You don’t need to do it at one go.
There’s a guild of people manipulating the TP? Can I join them? Do they advertise in LA? Do they have guild missions where each person spikes one item? Is their guild name The Tin Foil Hats [TFH]?
Please answer. Inquiring minds need to know. ^^
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
The game isn’t set up to reward support. If you spend your time in a fight buffing others then you won’t get loot, karma or exp. The whole game would need to be reworked in order to have support roles that are rewarded by the game. This means your request is unlikely at best to ever be put in the game.

Park your character on an ori node or a chest for daily harvesting and make another character. It doesn’t take that long to level and in the end you’ll be happier. I would know, I redid my Sylvari Necro (with full exotics) and made a Norn necro. My Sylvari necro now harvests for me every day and I’m happy with the way my Norn necro looks.

I think it was partially developed and then dropped. There was a blog post a year to two back where the NPCs would react to you depending on your personality. You might occasionally get free stuff if you were charming or be able to punch an NPC if you were brutal, for example. NPCs might cringe away from you when you walked by. For whatever reason, lack of time or it wasn’t working out, these were cut from the game. Leaving just the first part where you get the personality.
I think it’s more they are watching to see how it’s going. People are still working out how to do this fight. Until or unless it turns out that low population servers can’t do it there is really nothing for them to say.
If they post now while some people’s feelings are running hot about this then they will just get a lot of negative posts directed towards them. It’s better if they don’t post. Let people figure the fight out and let emotions calm down. From what I’ve read about forums, it’s better if they don’t post when people are mad about something.
From a previous thread:
Devs posting on the forum
We have dozens of developers actively reading and posting on the official forums. Some developers choose to participate in the official forums and they do so because they want to talk to you and moreover, they are taking time away from working on the game to do so. Any time that they take to read and post on the forums is time that they are not spending working on the game. If you don’t see certain people posting on the forums, please understand that they’re working on the game and they would rather focus their efforts on the game itself. There will always be more fan posts than can anyone can ever respond to. The fact is, there are more of you than there are of us. A developer can easily spend their entire day not working on the game and just reading and posting on the forums, so if they choose to spend time working on the game, please respect their choice rather than berate them for that choice. By berating staff for their decision not to post on the forums, you might actually discourage them from posting in the future, and they may just decide to continue to lurk.

Go ahead and level in the starter zones. It’s probably faster then the mid level zones because the events pop off faster and closer together. In the mid level zones you spend more time finding events than doing them. When I was leveling mine and wanted to gain a fast level or two, I would go to the noob starter zones where I knew events were and run through them fast.
Now the karma and loot are not as good in the lower levels so that may be a problem later when you hit 80 and want to get max gear. But you can just get greens and do ok until you get more gold and karma.
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
I’ve been playing since start and I’ve gotten a few exotics, around 25. Now of these, a good 90% are from doing the world bosses, I try to do several a day. If you count the ones I’ve gotten as drops after playing way too many hours, it’s just a few. Maybe 3 since start. So if you want exotics to drop your best bet is to do the special events, including opening chests on a level 80 because they don’t drop much from killing mobs. If you want consistent exotics your best bet is to craft them.
Afaik nothing has changed. It maybe harder now that the population is decreased but the times I’ve logged in I’ve seen people playing, even in Presearing Prophesies, which is a zone you can quickly level out of.
It’s unlikely what you said a few hours before a suspension is what caused the suspension. You have to be reported. This has to go to a support person who already is working on a pile of reports and tickets filed from people who have problems in the game. Then it takes a while before he gets to your report and he takes some time investigating it. Most likely you were suspended for something you said a couple of days ago, not a few hours.
They will have changed display names if they contain personal information. Contact support using the support tab at th top of the page then go to ‘ask a question’ and make out a ticket. If they agree then they will change it. You might not be able to choose what it’s changed to though.
Just did a batch of 50 rares, got 53 ectos. Did another batch a little while ago and got just short of 9 ectos per 10 rares. Both times I had streaks where I got nothing, but it was later made up for multiple 2/3 ectos at a time in a row. That’s just how random things play out.
If you told a typical person to make a random list of 1’s and 0’s they would exclude long streaks (which would naturally occur). Their list would be far from being actually random. I think this is what a lot of people here are expecting… an unnaturally uniform distribution of exctos within a small sample size.
A sample size of 4,7,whatever isn’t enough. Heck even the 100 or so that I did aren’t conclusive because of the nature of things being random (although it’s far better than the single digit sample sizes).
I remember reading about how people think random should look like and how it really looks. The guy said, look at the stars in the sky in deep space. They are distributed randomly and they are not smoothly spread out. They are ‘lumpy’. Some places have lots of stars and some have few. And that is true randomness. True randomness has stretches where there are lots and stretches where there are few, including the salvage rates of ectos.
Tried 5 times and failed each time. Zero loot on four times (shrug) and 3 chests the last time. Quality of loot was pretty good, uh, from the 4 champs we did while waiting for the event to start. ^^
The Teq event itself was pretty fun. Pretty intense. Loot wise, some blues, some greens. You know the drill.
I was laughing with a guildie later. The champs gave better loot than the big bad dragon.
Me and two guildies did the Sparkfly achievements without using Dulfy at all. It took us all of two hours.
Be glad you guys didn’t play RPGs back in the day. You’d have run screaming off into the night.
This. Morrowind anyone?
I played Morrowind. I well remember wandering aimlessly around, trying to find stuff. BUT it wasn’t time gated. And that’s where the pressure is for me. Obscure clues and no time gating is fine. Obscure clues and time gates, no thank you.
