Having 8 chars that I play means that I had a use for each one I got, but no longer. From now on they are going in storage unless they are better than the ones I have. That is a waste of Dev development time and our playing to get reward time, to make rewards that are essentially unusable. This is another situation where a wardrobe system is badly needed.
From what I’ve read they ban bots not individually by report but in waves. They have said the reason they do this is it helps keep the botters from figuring out which method was used to detect them.
ANet has been diligent in getting rid of bots. If they ban them as a large group instead of individually then that must be the method that they think works best.
Both red and yellow ones give experience. The longer a mob (animal) goes without being killed, the more exp it has to give you. As a general rule, yellow mobs tend to be ignored and can give you good exp as well as mobs that are in an out of a way area as they won’t be killed for a long time.
Well support is still the best place to ask. Go to the support tab at the top of the page and then go to ‘ask a question’ and fill out a ticket.
IGN can do that because they aren’t advertising ingame or on the forum. That’s where it gets tricky. You will have to give support all the details. As a general statement, if it involves money (them giving you money) then I doubt it’s allowable.
Looks like excess supply to me. Once my stacks of bloodstone was reaching 10 of them I deleted all except one extra stack. You get it so fast right now there’s not much reason to hold on to it.
Depends on the event you are talking about. If it’s the Tequatl event, it’s because many other servers have given up doing it on theirs so the ones that want it have to guest.
I read they are full. If they are and you friend a couple of them, maybe they will party up with you and pull you over to the overflow they are on if there is one, maybe. Depends on whether bringing others over will block guildies from coming to it. And whether or not they want non guildies to be in the overflow the are getting on.
Or you can go to a server that does this regularly and hope. :/ Blackgate for one. There is a site that shows server number of kills somewhere but can’t find it at the moment.

I’ve heard invites require ingame gold more than 100K and screenshots of you personally buying then reselling multiple precursors to spike the market price. As well as other nefarious and devious trashing of someone else’s profits. ^^
Well days are longer than nights, 70 minute days and 40 minute nights. When you add in that in many places nights are so bright you can’t easily tell them from day then you might feel you play only during the day.

A day/night cycle is present in the game. Day lasts for 70 minutes, night for 40 minutes and the transitions between the two take 5 minutes each, comprising a 2-hour cycle.
What would be more interesting is if they made nights darker. A day/night cycle where you can’t easily tell day from night needs tweaking.
karma isn’t free anymore. It is so much harder to get than gold that I replaced my gf infusion with a karma infusion.
350 karma each. It’s not that much karma that doing some events in a map won’t pay for a set or two.
I buy set of each, 10 at a time and I still am increasing the amount of karma I have over time. I guess it depends on how you play and if you do activities that gain karma.
There’s a reason they’re soulbound. Also stack of Ori tools are 4s and using those up in a high level area not only pays off that stack and a few more, but profit as well. But seriously 800gems for a virtual convenience item, yes I get a good laugh out of that trap.
Actually you can get each one of the ori tools for “free” by buying them with karma, including the picks which you need to do an event for. Which makes the gem store tools even less cost effective.
The time gating is what made it so alt unfriendly. Before then I got my 8 to level 80 and then got each one all exotic armor and a full set exotic weapons on each as I like to switch weapons around to change up the play style.
And then they introduced laurels. I’ve spent every one I’ve gotten as well as my commendations and still don’t have full ascended trinkets. And now ascended weapons require laurels. To get all 8 with all ascended weapons and trinkets and then armor, I can see this taking years. If I just had one to do with one set of weapons and trinkets like some people, I could be done with current ascended items.
It feels alt punishing to know I have years ahead of me while others might be done.

If you delete a character the name is reserved to your account for 24 hours. After that it is released so anyone can use it.
Some of the digital deluxe items are one time only and some are with each character made. The heroes band and the bank golem are with each character. The other items are one time only and should be put in the bank before the character is deleted or else you will lose them. An easy way to check, if you mouse over the item and it says soulbound, it’s per character. If it says account bound, put it in the bank.
When you make a new character you will get a new heroes band and golem banker in the mail.
There is a way ingame but it’s only for rings, it’s expensive and you have to use the mystic forge.

All ascended rings are unique, meaning you cannot equip two identical rings at the same time. You can, however, equip two ascended rings with the same attributes but different types of infusion slots, or the “regular” and “infused” (+5 agony resistance) versions of a ring.
Upgrade a regular ascended ring in the Mystic Forge using 1 Shard of Crystallized Mists Essence, 3 Glob of Coagulated Mists Essence, and 5 Vial of Condensed Mists Essence
No others trinkets can be done like this.
You can contact support by going to the support tab at the top of the page and then to ‘make a ticket’ and see if there is anything they can do.
The last resort is to give one to an alt, if you have one.
If you were able to send off a ticket then that should be good enough. Just wait and see if you get a response back. You should at least get an acknowledgement within 24 hours.
There is a limit on gem purchases. They may have to manually raise the limit for you.
You might try posting in Tech Support, including any details such as any error codes that the game might give you. Check that forum for people with the same problem. It might have a fix suggested in that thread.
For this post, if you made a ticket you should update it and add the ticket number.
If you made more than one ticket, close the second one and update the first saying you have not received any help yet.
In the past there were known places where there were multiple spawns for one site. If you are seeing immediate respawning, it may be that and you can report it as a bug.
Other than that, it would be nice if they lengthened the respawn timers a bit. When there are multiple mobs and a champion it can be a problem if you are soloing.
One problem is that allowing your friend to use your other account breaks TOS, the legal agreement you made with them. This will affect any response from ANet.

Correct. That was one of the ways to game it, not the way to do it for real.
I think some of the starter masks do change slightly depending on the race of your character.
You might also want to keep in mind that (I think) the majority of the design you’re seeing on the character’s face are Norn tattoos, which the player likely chose to complement the mask.
Actually no. It’s identical to my necro’s face mask and I chose one without facial tattoos because I was planning to use that mask. You can add facial tattoos to it but it tends imo to be too ‘busy’ then.

I just ignore the tail clipping as I think Charr wearing human based armor is absurd anyway. They should at least have cultural armor that is based on their culture, not a knockoff of human armor.

I hope they bring this back. He was widely loved and getting those presents was great. They could put in all sorts of stuff. A temporary speed booster. Summoning stones for PvE use for when you could use a little help. Alcohol for the booze title. Magic find booster. Even a temporary PvE stats increaser. There are a bunch of stuff they could put in the presents.

Unfortunately, no. At this time there is no way to promote or change the leadership. You now have 1 real choice. That is to make another guild and keep the other as a secondary guild, maybe for storage only.
It’s possible that at some time they will put in the Guild Wars 1 feature where leaders are replaced if inactive for a specified period of time but it is unknown when or if they will do this.
In the future you may wish to have a second person as a co-leader, so this can’t happen. Of course this can come with its own set of problems if people quarrel.
It’s very strange that he got banned with the excuse being; “for buying gold”. This is because he would never buy gold for a third party when he was ALWAYS purchasing gems from the gem store directly.
Yep. And here we see the REAL reason for his banning. Not for promoting someone but for gold buying. The other people who posted and said for promoting someone either don’t know near as much as they think they do or they are being dishonest with their statements.
If he got banned for this reason, he still needs to contact support using the support tab and ‘ask a question’. Support is the one to sort it out, one way or another, not the forum.
Some points: One: it’s currently 2am for the ANet staff (Gaile Gray) that handles this forum and multiple postings are not going to get her out of bed to work on it. Two: testimonies by other than the person involved are worthless as they don’t know what actually happened. They may think they know, but they don’t. Three: people other than the person involved cannot make support tickets that won’t be immediately dismissed as these people again do not have knowledge of what actually happened. In addition, these tickets slow support down since they will only be closed without the problem being addressed. Four: don’t make a ticket and then make a thread. Support needs time to work on the issue. Doing this clogs up the forum to no purpose and slows Gaile down as she has to read, comment on this by telling you not to do this, then close down the thread. It takes away from people who are following the rules and posting correctly.

While there is an item with a similar name, the Ancient Karka Carapace that is a laurel item and may be what Henge is thinking of, there seems to be no way to ascend an Ancient Karka Shell.
Since ANet said they expected people to fail this for days to weeks before the first success, then surely they were also expecting this event to be eventually abandoned except by certain guilds on certain servers, just like the karka queen is mostly abandoned. They had only to look at that event to predict the future of this one.
I am under the impression that they are just treading water right now and are without focus. There is no way they willingly made this event this way so that it could have this outcome.
They need leadership to step up and provide concrete direction because it feels like the living world teams are just flailing around randomly.

Yes, they were expecting people to fail this for days to weeks before the FIRST success anywhere. To me that seems a recipe for a future abandoned event except on select servers with select guilds.
I agree. It sounds like a server issue and I also recommend you guest around till you find one more suitable. It’s not necessary to change servers unless you do WvW but you might want to keep that in mind for the future. Most servers I’ve been on have crowds of people at the shadow behemoth and other meta events and the people are normally helpful. So, you need to guest around and find a server more suited for you.
My friend and I party up often, and do not lose our party status when either of us, or both of us, log out. Not sure why your friend does; you, or he, might report it as a bug in-game or in the Game Bug sub-forum.
You never lose the party when you log out? Even if it’s the next day when you log back in?
If you contacted support and didn’t get a response within 3 days, you are encouraged to post your ticket number in this thread for Gaile Gray to review.
You should have gotten an initial response within 24 hours of your ticket. This is usually an automated email acknowledging they received your ticket and offering fixes for many simple problems. When people don’t get this it’s usually because it went into their email’s junk, spam or similar folder and they didn’t think to check there.
Search those folders. If you can’t find it then update your original ticket and also post in that thread.
The traits are divided into 3 sets; Adept, Master and Grandmaster. What the trait books do is open up one set of the trait line. When they do that they reset all your traits to zero so you can reassign them.
You don’t get your first trait until level 11 so your number of traits will always be 10 less than your character level.
