If you want to farm alts are the way to go. Ori/ancient woods nodes, empyreal from JPs, meta events for dragonite. You can hit a bunch of these easily with alts. But when it comes to gearing them up you can expect to take years for full ascended for all, if you go that route.

Anet has internal controls that help to prevent fraud. Sometimes if you spent X amount of dollars, you’re blocked from further purchases until your identity can be confirmed. It’s as simple as opening a Support Ticket.

That’s what has confused me. He did open a ticket and gave the ticket number. I can’t tell from what he is asking is if there is a question about his identity he couldn’t answer on the ticket or if it was somewhere else.

You can’t because your account information is stored on either the EU or NA set of data servers. To go from one set to another the account has to be completely transferred.

Maybe information of this sort could go in the hints section of the UI. There could be a section that go toward hint mastery that you get just by clicking that you read them. It could be basic information of this sort. There are several questions I have seen repeatedly that the answers might go in there. It could easily just be a topic title such as Guild Banks and then a wiki link.

If you want to buy from karma merchants, here is a list you can use. Of course most will likely be in an equivalent level area you haven’t done, but you can use it to search the possibilities.

There is often big jumps between levels and to get a particular one of a particular level you gave to go to that area and do that heart. It may not be worth it. In the long run you might be better buying from the trading post every 10 levels, which is really as often as you need to upgrade.

It takes a long, long time to farm for a particular type of mat, especially 250 of them. You might be better off farming in general or running dungeons for gold and whatever mats you get, selling the drops and using the gold you get to buy what you want.

If you want to farm the blood, the skelks in Southsun are ok. There are a lot of them and they drop T5 and occasional T6 blood. Back when I used to farm them I might get 1 or 2 T6 blood an hour, averaging over several hours.

Yeah. The information is there, but you would have to know ahead of time to even ask the question. Most people are going to assume that if the bank transfers then the guild will also. Maybe you can make your case that this should have been more transparent but I suspect they will tell you that you can transfer yourself back to fix this.

What you like is a matter of taste so it will be hard for someone to say which is good looking and cheap. Check dulfy to see skins and then check prices.

Well, I have to wonder if it’s some sort of DR bug. And if you make a ticket, you should specify if it’s the little chest with the rare or the big chest at the end.

And then you will find random trading posts in out of the way locations. Like one in Mount Maelstrom in a little heart area/outpost along with a bank but no crafting.

The thief arrow teleport skill is useless while moving. If you move the pointer in the direction you are traveling then by the time you click on the map you are almost there anyway. If you move the pointer in a direction you are not traveling then by the time you click on the map it’s usually too far away. Doing it in the middle of a fight means you have to stop moving, reposition the pointer, click on the map and then use the skill. It’s doable but clunky.

If you have any rares yet undiscovered you can do them. It’s not near as much exp but it’s some. And then you can salvage them for ectos.

You will have to set it for your own server of course but it’s very useful to locate events.

Because sometimes you get in guilds with nice people who don’t do anything so you look for guilds that do the things you do, like dungeoning or WvW or whatnot. Eventually you can end up in multiple specialized guilds because no one guild is ever perfectly suited for doing all the things you want to do.

It’s a bit like enjoying chess, relaxing at home watching movies, car racing and reading poetry as a group. It’s not likely you will find one group of people that enjoy doing all 4 so you have to find 4 separate groups for these activities.

This happens to me with Shatterer all the time, despite playing in different zones and doing other events in between. In fact, I’ll run it with two accounts during the same event, both accounts will get gold and often only one will get the chest. This occurs even if they both did it the same time the previous day. One char did the event 6 times (once per day for a week, missing one day) and didn’t receive a single chest despite trying different servers and whatnot.

Well, if it happens again then you might take a screenshot and note time, date, and server and circumstances and make a thread in the Game Bugs forum. Alternatively you could make a ticket and contact support and see if they can pinpoint the problem.

The one week cooldown is because of WvW. Originally there was no cooldown and people would server hop within the match cycle and deliberately cause trouble by griefing the opposing teams of their true home server. This was a reoccurring problem. By having a week long cooldown between server transfers they stopped this. So, you may thank griefers and trolls for this feature.

You realize that you can still guest to your friend’s server and play with them? You just can’t do WvW during this time.

You also can transfer for free at the end of the cooldown period if you are willing to delete all your characters. Just be sure to remove all valuable items from your character before deletion and put them in the bank. Soul bound items will not be usable by another character.

I already wrote off the 5->1 exchange rate a couple of posts ago, in the one with the double spoiler tag. (Although it’s in the paragraph right after the math spoiler, without actually being in the spoiler) 5 stones per crystal would absolutely wreck the transmutation crystal market, and Anet would almost certainly see lost sales there.

The more important meat of the thread is that transmutation stones are practically worthless to a level 80 character, yet level 80 characters have tons of them, and so it would be nice if they could do something with them. So I’m attacking that in two ways, by reducing the number of transmutation stones they get and giving them something to do with all their old stones. Whether they’re rewarded with transmutation crystals somehow, or something else, anything is likely more useful to them than stones.

It’s nearly two here, so I can relate. I’ll be lucky if any of this makes any sense tomorrow.

Yah. I’m just trying to figure both Murphy’s law and the Law of Unintended Consequences when you essentially remove an item from the gem store that ANet is making money from. I figure if you make a suggestion that reduces sales for a company and it’s implemented you should assume that they are going to react to counter the loss of sales and that may not be favorable.

It would take some care to balance the needs of players with 200 stones and those with 2 stones, but I think that could be reasonably done. They could factor a player’s level into their odds of getting transmutation stones from a map completion chest, for example, instead of the current system that appears to use one result table regardless of level. Transmutation stones could be replaced on the “level 80 table” with something simple, like unidentified dye, another daily chest bonus item (mystic forge stones or boxes of fun, etc.) an essence of luck, or even just a little extra coin. It could even be left on there, just balanced against some more options, as the table currently reads “three transmutation stones, or, MAYBE IF YOU’RE LUCKY, a Black Lion key.”

They get rewards they can actually use, so they’re happier, it doesn’t have to dramatically increase the supply of other items, and they don’t have tons of transmutation stones floating around. Meanwhile, level 1-79 players can still get all the transmutation stones they could ever want.

As for getting rid of the old stones, if they reduce the output from map completion, they can just make it a temporary sink. They’ve done it before with Mystic Chests to reduce supply of common crafting materials, and very recently with the Twisted Watchwork Portal Device to reduce the supply of Living Story junk.

I’m reading this but I’m not sure how it ties into OP suggestion that you be able to turn 5 stones into one crystal. A number of people have ~200 stones, which would be in this case 40 crystals for free. Multiply those sort of numbers across the player population and there would be a glut of crystals, which ANet would be losing the sales on. Even if ANet then decreased the drop rate of the crystals and stones, it would still hit their sales pretty hard.

That’s a good point that they give some away, partly to entice people to buy more and partly to reward people for logging in. Imo though, the number they give away is calculated to be the most “efficient” amount. What OP was suggesting was making the crystals ingame. The way it’s set up now, these would be more than what ANet hands out as many people have a lot of the yellow stones and can easily get more of them. I think it would mean they would decrease Transmutation crystal drops. That you would no longer get them as readily from BL chests or area completion and that they would also decrease the rewards of the yellow stones to limit the numbers of crystals made. If they did this then it would hurt the low level people who are getting free stones and using them to transmute to keep a look while leveling. In the end, I think people would still need to buy stones from the gem store as the drop rate and manufacture rate would be tightly controlled.

The value of the gems lies in having items to buy with it. If for example, the gem shop had no items to sell then of course the gems would have no value as there would be no reason for someone to buy them with either real money or gold. The fewer items the shop has to sell, all things being equal, the less value the gems have. If you remove one item then that means demand drops for gems by the volume that item sold by. Someone, for example would have bought gems to buy crystals but since the crystals are now made in game they don’t. This means gems will drop in value by that much.

If you as a business are selling 3 types of items and suddenly are selling 2 then you will be losing the money you would have made by selling the 3rd type of item.

Also, I think there is a difference between what you see and what ANet sees. What you see is you buying gems with gold and getting the item for free. What ANet sees is someone buying gems with real money and then those gems buying items in the gem store. To them it’s a one to one relationship.

If ANet sells X number of crystals a day, it doesn’t matter to them if the sales are direct or indirect. Each way they make money off the transaction and if those crystals were removed from the gem store then that’s the money they would not be making on a daily basis.

You can always try support but to my knowledge if it’s the players mistake then they won’t refund.

How would you suggest they handle it then? How are they supposed to tell people who leave a game to avoid losing from those who dc?

I still would like to see some sort of underflow or district system put in the non-city maps. Maybe optional for those that want to remain on their own server for some reason. This way maps would fill up from all the servers then make another version when full. People with the district system could switch between more crowded or less crowded as they wished, assuming there was a spot open on the district.

Yea, basically what most do is put in buy orders on rare stuffs and salvage, then sell the ectos. I’ve used other methods in the past as well… but it’s almost always buy orders->???->ectos->profit.

I haven’t noticed any unusual drop in the numbers that I’ve been getting.

Lol. It’s a reminder to me that small things/kittens (situations/problems/suggestions) can get larger and have unintended consequences/cats. I use it to remind me to think twice about an answer to a problem .

That would be great. Let it go off to max distance in the direction the camera is pointing. It’s awkward and clumsy to drag my mouse around from wherever it happens to be sitting and move it to some spot, hopefully not to far away, while in the middle of a fight.

Heck, I don’t even care that I will occasionally leap off a cliff doing this. At least the skill will be usable on a regular basis and not just every once in a great while.

Considering I’ve seen candid videos of people who are playing other games, and get mad and throw their keyboard across the room or hit their computer hard enough to knock it down, I would say this is behavior not unique to this game. Some people just have a short fuse and poor self control. You will find these people wherever you go, not just in a video game. Nothing you can do about it except put them on block and if bad enough, leave the party.

I don’t know about trying it out in PvE first to learn about PvP. It takes you to level 30 just to get a full skill bar and you won’t have all your utility skills and traits till level 80 or past. Mesmer in PvE has a reputation for being hard until level 40 when you get sufficient traits.

Maybe join a PvP guild and see if someone can give you some tips. Try one of the PvP forums also for specific PvP Mesmer advice.

You do realize that the 5 points will only get you 5 pieces of armor skins and the title Traveler, don’t you? Unless you want the points specifically for that, then it’s probably not worth your time.

Just asking because I’ve seen threads where people think they can use the points to chose any of the rewards they want.

On HoD. The first phase where he lands and puts up ice walls is bugged. The first set of the ice walls can be targeted and destroyed then another set appear which are not attackable. The event fails at that time as he can’t be attacked either.

From what I’ve read on the forums, there are people who salvage large numbers of rares on a regular basis. If there had been a change in the salvage rates it would be quickly noticed by them and reported. That’s what happened the one time there was a bug in the salvage rates. Since that hasn’t happened then it doesn’t look like there’s a problem.

Well idk I salvaged some, I don’t know how many, and I think it looked like it was less.

Go to the guild bank and while representing, check the log. That tells you who put in or took things out and when.

I save mine in the fond hope that one day they will have new professions/races and they will be useful again.

That site had a possible work around. You can try it. If not, try the Tech Support forum or try contacting support.

When I leveled my alts, that’s what I did. Cities, starter areas, 15-25 areas. By the time I got those done I was either level 80 or very close. After that I just went where I wanted. Most of the time the karma vender won’t have what you want at the level you are anyway. The trading post is better.

That’s a phishing email. There is a stickied thread with that one and several others if you want to read more here . Just trash it and don’t click on that link.
