There should still be semi-reliably good rewards in chests. I know it would encourage more people to buy the keys, which seems desirable from Anet’s standpoint. As it stands, I’d rather have something I know I can use, instead of gambling with something that is full of largely useless items. Account bound mystery tonics? 70c dyes? Account bound killstreak boosters? 3 scraps of black lion tickets in 15 chests? Yeah, not worth it.
Don’t ID the dyes and sell them for 20 silver each. Use the mystery tonics for a combat brawl daily achieve. Accumulate the scraps till you get a ticket and then buy the newest weapon skin and sell it on the TP. I sold one for 50 gold. Kill streak boosters, well, I’ll give you that one.
I read several threads a few months back where players claimed it was nerfed. I don’t know if there was ever an official statement though.
I suspect more people have it than know about it. Last night, one person in my guild said they had it so I checked and I had it also. Several guildies then came on to say they now had it. Since there is no ingame announcement and people don’t frequently check their friends list, it can easily be overlooked.

Since I’m not really a WvW/dungeon person that means I have multiple stacks of bloodstone and have also deleted several stacks, have one and a partial stack of dragonite and now must consider adding JPs or WvW to my daily routine if I want to go this route. I gather that people who mostly WvW have stacks of empyreal and very little dragonite.
Save them up and hope for new races/professions to use them on, along with your birthday gift of automatic level 20.
Has anyone from Anet confirmed they’ll become craftable anytime soon or is people selling everything out of pure speculation?
Colin confirmed it with a PAX interview, but I don’t remember a time frame.
It was in this video. http://massively.joystiq.com/2013/09/04/guild-wars-2-interview-picks-colin-johansons-brain/
Sure as long as they can only trial on low pop servers and have the ability to guest turned off =)
So only the low population severs should get gold sellers, scammers, trolls? I’m sure that would help these servers to gain people if they have a bad reputation for this. Let me guess, you are not on a low population server so this wouldn’t be your problem.

A stylist like in Guild Wars 1
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Stylist
What this guy did was let you preview any allowable changes on your character. This way you could see what new hair color, tattoos, gender switch, or whatever else would look like before you committed to buying the actual kit to switch. I made several purchases after previewing the new look with this NPC. It encouraged buying the kit as it made previewing so easy.
Since the game is now over a year old and numerous people have had their first birthday, or multiples if they made a bunch at launch, then it’s not realistic to ask for this for the first year birthday. Second year maybe but not first year. That’s already over with for too many people.
Agreed. It was a good idea then but now it’s counterproductive. It should be switched back.
Some maps seem to change more frequently than others. For example, wood and ori in Cursed Shore and Malchors Leap stays in place for the full week. In Frostgorge they change much more frequently. Similarly, herbs in Straits of Devastation seem to change more than once a day.
I farm Frostgorge every day starting since about 3 months ago and I’ve never seen them change sites without an update happening first.
There would be so many ways for people to cause problems if they had permanent free accounts. Scam somebody or loot a guild on your free account then transfer the goodies to your account. Get free accounts to troll enemy servers in WvW. Use free accounts to stalk and harass someone. When one account gets banned, rinse and repeat. The possibilities are endless to a dedicated troll/stalker/griefer/scammer.
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Hall_of_monuments
According to Guild Wars 2 developers, you will have the option of “Declaring your ancestor” to receive the Hall of Monuments rewards by linking your Guild Wars 2 game account with one Guild Wars game account.1
You will be able to link a single Guild Wars game account to your Guild Wars 2 game account at any time after creating your Guild Wars 2 account.
Only accounts with the Eye of the North expansion and who have unlocked the Hall of Monuments are eligible for rewards.
Also, on the same site: ‘filling one’s Hall of Monuments is the only way to unlock a number of Guild Wars 2 bonus items and titles.’ Here they mean, if you meet the requirements you can get the first 3 points, which are 3 specific armor skins, without doing anything else.

My guess is, they figure gold sellers would flock to these. After all all they need to do is stand in LA and message people, they wouldn’t even need to pay the $40 dollars or so to buy the game. A good savings for them.
I wish they would give achieve points for getting 100% on any character. Not necessarily the same amount but some, since you are doing the same amount of work on an alt as the first time. It would encourage people to do 100% on more than one character if they did.
It’s mentioned in this interview at 21 minutes. http://massively.joystiq.com/2013/09/04/guild-wars-2-interview-picks-colin-johansons-brain/
The suspensions start off at 72 hours for abusive language and additional time is added for additional reports until, with enough reports, a permanent ban is reached. So if you report someone and he does his 72 hours then of course you will see him online at a later time. So just because you see someone online later does not mean he did not get a suspension.
If you don’t believe people get suspensions for language, read the Account Issues forum. People post there whining because they only said “one bad word” and got suspended for 72 hours.

Yah, if the ticket was closed then you can post here to appeal. Just a heads up though, it’s 7:30AM for her right now and she most commonly posts in the early afternoon.
Even if I don’t agree with them, I can at least “see both sides” to a lot of the manipulations Anet has done to the game…
But this karma nerf was ridiculous. I have no idea what they were thinking. Are we supposed to do dailies and monthlies just for laurels?
I guess so. Iirc, they said the next step after ascended armor is ascended inscription slots and Legendary jewelry. Which will probably require massive amounts of laurels.
I love it, you get champ bags, rares, blues and greens, and you still complain, lol.
You PvErs are some piece of work, gimme, gimme, gimme.
You’re ridiculous.
Risk/Reward is screwed up and is a problem.
There’s no risk to the PvE side of this game.
There’s no risk to the PvP side either.

While this forum is for reviewing tickets, Gaile wants support to have a chance to look at it first. Specifically, not make a ticket and make a thread. She will review tickets that have gone 3 days without a response or the ones where people wish to appeal a decision.
So, unless you are appealing a final decision, you should wait a bit.
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
The daily reward is pretty pitiful now. A mystic coin that’s not worth selling. A luck scrap that I get multiple times a day. Some karma, which I can get just as easily with an event or two. If it wasn’t for the achievement points I wouldn’t bother anymore with the daily.
If someone contacts support and tells them the forum has a bug, it will be fixed in seconds!! :P
Why the hell are the teq weapons account bound? Dam anet, you guys keep dropping the ball and then kick it every time you go to pick it up.
So people who want it will have to participate in the event…otherwise people won’t come in the numbers needed to defeat T’quatl. They’ll wait for others to do it and just buy the thing.
Want the weapon? Do the content. It’s not a mistake on their part.
So if I get a pistol as a warrior or a GS as a thief then…GG? Your thought process really is horrible and Anet is dropping the ball in many ways over and over.
Or a Rabid weapon when you use Beserkers only. Can’t sell it. Cant give it away. Can’t salvage it. And the odds are low you are going to get a drop with the stats you want. What does ANet expect us to do with Ascended weapons with unwanted stats?
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
How odd. I got a notice that this thread was ‘moved to trash can’. Yet, here it is!
Same. It said the first post was deleted and therefore the whole thread was.
I harvest ori and ancient wood in Frostgorge almost every day. What I’ve found is, 1) if the game has an update, no matter how small, then the node sites change 2) the nodes normally are harvestable at reset unless 3) you harvested them close to reset, within a few hours. In that case they will be harvestable some time after reset. How long I don’t know. It may depend on how close to reset time you harvested them.
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
Also, try this site. http://www.gw2state.com/ It shows ongoing events for each map on a server.
I have it now and several guildies have it also. Must be being released fast.
Would it help if I said I included it in my report?
No; I’ve heard that before. By legit I didn’t mean “we know about it.” Colin already gave me that lip service. I’m sorry if I seem demanding or ungrateful, but it has been months since the last update on this issue and every single issue that Colin said was being worked on first has been finished and is in the game in one from or another, plus a lot of other stuff. I don’t want “I included it in my report.” I want to know what you plan to do about it, and at least a ballpark estimate of when.
This issue, an oversight that never should have made it into the live release, has been known and complained about for over a year and the development team has addressed similar issues for other player demographics no larger or important than ours. We’re already in year two, and in a lot of ways this game is still in a beta phase with beta, heck, alpha phase problems. The least you can to is tell us if this is even on your radar to be fixed before year three.
Edit: I didn’t pre-purchase this game to wait over a year for “cosmetic progression” to actually apply to my favored class. And frankly I think you guys should stop adding cosmetic content until every profession can actually use it.
Wow. You sure you don’t want to go over to his home and slap him around a little? Maybe kick the family dog.
And people ask why ANet doesn’t post on threads.
The trial versions they’ve had so far have been for one weekend only and in the year since the game started they’ve only had it a few times.
They currently don’t have this available. They have had some trial weekends, one a month or two back. Eventually they will have one again but no one knows when.
I think ArenaNet should read the OP’s post very carefully, it’s one of the best posts I’ve seen here.
ANet staffer reads thread, runs to Dev “Help, the players are revolting!” Dev says, “Yes, I know they are.” Staffer “No. I mean they have guns and knives and other weapons!” Dev says “Oh, you mean that sort of revolting.” Reads thread. “Hmmm. Maybe if we put in Halloween content where they find 500 footsteps of the Mad King all across Tyria…….”

If you people think the clues are too obscure, then ask yourself…How does Dulfy know? ArenaNet is NOT supplying the site with answers or insights. Dulfy is simply doing the actual work of investigating the surroundings. That site has a lot people helping Dulfy to funnel all the information for these so-called guides.
Yes, it does take time, some even more time than others to figure out where to go and what to do. But if you can’t come to terms with the amount of legwork it requires to EXPLORE the game then the issue is yours, not ArenaNet.
Pay attention, and remember this is multiplayer game….ask for help in-game if you don’t know what’s going on.
Yep. She is getting the bulk of her information from people sending it to her and she assembles it. So she is not simply doing the actual work of investigating the surroundings all by herself.
Content with obscure clues should not be time gated. Time gated content should have clear ingame information on how to do it. If the content is obscure, time gated and the information is not ingame then people will use sites like Dulfy, especially people who don’t have hours to play the game.
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
That’s sort of the point. It’s work, not fun. It’s going down a checklist from spot to spot. If on just checking off items on a list the Dulfy might as well give me the spots to go to.
But are you denying that there could be gamers like exploration and scavenger hunts? If you don’t enjoy it why do you bother even following the guide to do it because I’m sure you don’t honestly enjoy that either? My guess is the answer is so you can get the rewards, in which case its you forcing yourself to do something you don’t like because your chasing the carrot or at the very least you choosing to do something you don;t like because you really want the reward. This has nothing to do with how fun the content itself is because your not really doing it but still feel entitled to complain about it.
Like anyone else, I want to do the new content that the game offers and get the rewards. But if it’s a checklist of go to different spots within a certain amount of time then it’s not really fun and if that’s the content the game is offering then I am entitled to complain. ANet should want to know if its players are bored by this type of content.
Good points, all of them. I especially agree with #4. If it wasn’t for Dulfy, I srsly wouldn’t have a clue what to do.
Except that Dulfy is a real person and has to find these items or find solutions to quests or events.
So basically you are taking all the work out of something and letting Dulfy play the game for you. Isn’t that pathetic?
These sites are up awfully fast. My guess is, other people send her the information which she then puts up. Likely there is a team doing it. I doubt she is doing it all herself.
And yet my point is still there. Letting people do the work for you.

Update:
The player this post was about got perma banned from the server.
Until he buys a new account.
It’s not the individual griefer that’s the problem. It’s the game mechanics that allows griefing.
Yep. It’s either use T stones to transmute as you level or wait till level 80 and apply to your final exotic armor.
Dulfy wouldn’t be needed so much if the content wasn’t time gated. It’s the lack of ingame information on time gated achieves that’s the problem. Someday they are going to do this minimal information on time gated achieves and Dulfy won’t be there with a guide. And that’s going to be interesting.
Do y’all remember the Halloween search for the clues to get the Mad Memories? I didn’t have the faintest idea how to figure out the clues, and still don’t.
For example:
- Stories yet untold despite the power that marks a spooky site. When humans flee their homes of old, where they settle cannot be told.
How in the world does anyone figure this sort of thing out without an outside guide?
If Dulfy ever quits doing her guide, this stuff will get really hard. Talking to Rox didn’t let me know there was a track nearby to find. And just finding her would have been hard if not for Dulfy.
It’s backwards. For one thing, people who get kicked out of parties because of griefing lose those messages which might be about it, as well as the names of the people in that group. And I would rather lose map or say messages than lose the guild chat conversation.

To avoid spamming regular chat, you can put it in party chat. Just type someone’s character name in the party invitation window. They don’t need to be online for this to work.
or you can just /w yourself
Didn’t know that. While I talk to myself all the time in real life it never occurred to me to whisper myself in game. ^^
Of course there are achieve points for using a turret once. This means that individuals who have no idea what they are doing will regularly be on these.

This is a known phishing email. Delete and ignore.
ANet does not contact people like this. If there is reason they will close down the account without an email notice. Then they wait for the account holder to contact them to resolve the problem, if possible.
Just report the one time. When support checks it, they go over the log around the time not just the one thing said. So they will look both before and after the report to get the whole picture. Unless it is something that is said a long time after as this will be harassment, which is another reportable issue.
So, report each separate incidence once.
