I´m not sure whether I´m supposed to get a gift or not (haven´t received any yet). I´ve played since the very beginning. I even got one of the pre-order editions but I ended up not liking my first character created at the release and made another one a day or a few days after that, I can´t remember exactly now.
It will be on that character’s birthday, whenever that is.
You say it gets changed but its not showing up as a different location? Could someone in your home be doing it? Maybe as a prank? A roommate or a sibling perhaps.
You have it set up to auto log, so it’s accessible from someone in your house. Maybe remove that and see if it makes a difference.
Could it be the wind catcher backpiece? That has a swirling particles effect around the character. This shows it from the back. From the front all you can see are the particles swirling around.
This happens each time there is mass emails from ANet. They send these emails out in batches of them so of course some will get theirs first and others a day or so later.
When a company does something like this, commonly it’s to entice new buyers who otherwise might not buy. It isn’t usually offered to people so have already bought. They already have those people’s purchases.
On the top bar there is a tab called PvP. Click on that and you’ll have a button called go to the heart of the mists. Click on it and you’ll go there, once you load in you will see a portal, enter that. That will take you to LA. Go north across the bridge from where you spawn in, take a left on that platform until you reach another bridge, take that bridge and then take the first portal on your right. That will get you to the human city divinity’s reach. Just go to the south of the map to find the transition into queensdale, the human starting zone.
The very first time you go to the PvP area you land in the PvP training area. Head north to a broken tower with broken steps. Go up, there is a portal at the top, go through. This will take you to the main PvP area which has the portal to LA.
So after a day or so of patiently waiting I finally get a response saying that Anet is not able to retrieve items from deleted characters. So that’s it then? This is a serious flaw in the design of these one time, one instance limited time items is if something happens like this then oh well, screw all that crap you did to get it it’s gone now gg.
Now I’m wondering, if someone’s account gets hacked, and the characters deleted, what happens then? Would they really have the balls to say “Sorry tough luck, we can’t give you your stuff back”?
What they do with hacked accounts which have characters deleted is, they periodically take ‘snapshots’ of all the the accounts in the game. If your account is hacked, once you get it back they can reset the account to the nearest snapshot before the hack. This account rollback is apparently the only way they are able/willing to restore things and its only offered for hacked accounts as a once in a lifetime deal as it is labor intensive. Its not offered for accounts where a person deleted a character himself.
The reason for the restriction, as I understand it, is budget. This is not a subscription based game where people pay them every month. This is a game that many people bought the game and never bought anything else. This means they have to consider a budget and set some things outside what they will do. If you get hacked you get your stuff back, once. If you delete or salvage something, then it’s your fault for not being careful and they do not offer account rollbacks for this.
Do you have a personal guild or access to your regular guild’s storage.
You can deposit at least 200 gold in the guild storage then take it back out again. See if that works.
Another option, if you have someone you trust, you mail him the 200 gold then he mails it back to you. Be aware though, that if he has a new account he won’t be able to return it as his mailing out privileges will be restricted. They do this to hinder gold sellers.
All options are a little iffy though. You can put the money in a guild bank and a guilde could be looking at it at that time, and take it out. You can mail the money to the wrong person. You friend could steal the money.
Did you contact support already? If not, go to the support tab at the top of the page then go to ‘ask a question’ and fill out a ticket. They should be able to help you with this.
You need to go ahead and change your password and maybe your email, just to be sure. This person has your information. The only thing that’s stopping him right now is the IP authorization. This means your account is not secure and if he can figure out a way to get past it, he can steal your account.

Portals were bugged in several places and couldn’t be cleared. Either no mobs spawn or if they do killing them didn’t close the portal. The map failed and didn’t get achieve for it.
You can try contacting support and see if they are willing to upgrade your account. Go to the support tab at the top of the page then to ‘ask a question’.
omg I wish, everything would be the way it was at launch, 20 silver for 100 gems, and everything would be affordable again…never gonna see it happen, no way they would let that happen again
O.o I didn’t have 20 silver at launch. It took me ages to get my first gold since you only got a few copper for each reward. 20 silver then is like several gold now.
The reason it won’t happen is not because “they won’t let it happen” but because everyone has more money now. Some people have a LOT more money. Since the price of gems is dependent on supply and demand, how can it be 20 silver for 100? One person now could buy thousands of gems. Maybe hundreds of thousands at that price. There is no way it could be so cheap when the average person has so much more money as compared to launch.
If its a bug then you will get a better response by making a thread in the Games Bugs forum. This forum is more for people appealing suspensions or have forgotten their passwords. Topics like that.

Your 3rd option is to post in the Players Helping Player forum, see if someone there can help you.
I bet not. Remember when the game came out you could get an t-shirt with the dragon on it that you could wear in game? That was only available to people who went to one of these types of conventions. It was never made available to anyone else, just the lucky few who were able to attend.

The title says that the trial account is one he has used before on a previous trial weekend. If its a previously used trial account then they probably have deactivated it. Trial accounts are for people who have never played before and want to try the game before buying. Once you try it they expect you to decide one way or another. Not keep on playing for free on the same trial account.

Trodgor, thank you for your declaration of brilliance. i think you’re the smartest person i have ever met.
It would have helped them to evaluate and respond to your concerns about this if the original posting expressed your thoughts about spies and other problems rather than have a statement about disabling as a title and then no reason why as the post. Don’t expect others to read your mind or know what your concerns are without you saying.
Maybe ANet needs to make the awards arrive for the champions only if the whole map event succeeds.
I have 9/13 and trying to get thru them as fast as possible because I’m afraid the farmers who have the achieves will take over on all the events soon.
I read they didn’t put Guild Wars 1 type costumes in Guild Wars 2 because of immersion considerations. But they have people now with backpacks that look like wings or stuffed animals, with bows that can shoot unicorns that have the ANet logo on them. Imo these things are sufficiently immersion breaking to render arguments against costumes wearable in combat invalid.
There’s a good chance that the rewards are account related, being that everything in this game is very alt-forgiving such as account bound items and the account wallet. So it’s most likely going to reward you for being 1 year old since account creation, rather than 1 year old for characters.

If you have an empty character slot and some T-stones you can get items from character creation back.
1) make a character with that item
2) buy a low level white item and transmute the two together. This will break the soulbinding so it is account bound. Sometimes it will still say soulbound but it should be account bound. If it is still truly soulbound, repeat this step (you will be able to tell as no other character can take a soulbound item out of the bank when you put it in there). Put the item in the bank.
3) have the character you want it on pick it up and then transmute it to the final item.

Lol. I’m sorry I didn’t sell mine when they were actually worth something. I have almost 2 stacks now. Now I’m waiting for them to make new recipes that has them. I bet the supply among all the people holding on to them is enormous.
Personally I like shortbow and axe/warhorn instead of longbow. The axe/warhorn is good for situations with multiple targets as the axe bounces and hits more than one target. The warhorn gives you a nice speed boost while strafing and skill 4 hits pretty hard.
I bought a mini pack before looking at the collections tab, opened it up and was disappointed by how generic they were. Checked the collections tab and realized there wasn’t any I wanted. Promptly sold them to get some of my money back.
When you submit a ticket it goes to support, not a Dev. They don’t answer PMs because they get so many from random people who feel like whatever they have to say is worthy of personal attention from a Dev.
If you have a problem, you contact the support staff. If you have a suggestion, you put it in the suggestion forum.
It might be just a bug. But if it was me, I’d change the password. Just to be sure. You can change the password by going into ‘my account’ at top right of the page then to the password changer.
Ummm pretty sure the 24 hour reservation is true if you delete a character. Or should be. It was like that in Guild Wars 1.
Or you positive you didn’t misspell it? Maybe try again to be sure. If it is truly taken I would put in a bug report. Not that that will get your name back but they should know.

I’ve reset mine on the forum. It didn’t ask for a serial number. I logged into the forum then went to my account, top right of page. There is a field there for change password.
