What is means is that the players on each data center for PvE/PvP are now mixed together on the maps. The maps open and close as population flows in and out. The game will try to put you with your server, guild and party members on the same shard but other servers will be in there also. The servers are now only separate (within the two data centers) in WvW.

Maybe if you didn’t use negative words like lazy/poor, implying would be more obvious?
I don’t see how they could possibly make the weapon skills not weapon based without completely taking apart and remaking that section of the game, so I doubt that’s going to happen.
What maybe they could do is give a different set of skills (still linked together like the current set) for each weapon and you choose between sets.
That is correct, but I think you’re overplaying the effort it takes to not lose gold, at least.
Your original point was that those who don’t use skill points to make gold are poor and lazy (both comments that are untrue and negative about how others play).
To make the most bang for buck, sure, but that applies to selling anything on the tp if you don’t care about that there’s always a few reliable choices (if you just look for say mystic weapons with expensive sigils, for example) is always going to bring in a lot more than it costs.
I don’t care for TPwars myself, but I’ve never had a need to spreadsheet to melt my SPs into something useful.
Well, if anyone is going to make the effort to craft using eldrich scrolls, I would think it an obvious thing to do is research each one to make sure there is a profit rather than choose at random and hope that you make more than you put in. (Again spreadsheets)

Well, here is a point I can agree with. The mystic forge interface is extremely poor and doesn’t really make it very user friendly especially if you have many skill points. And God help you if you want to make superior siege.

I don’t know anything about the PvP rooms but ANet has stated that selling dungeon paths for gold isn’t a problem. (People in Guild Wars 1 commonly sold dungeons and runs to new areas)

The sheer profit they make from the gemstore should pay the way for any new content or expansions. You have people in LA/DR all the time saying how much $$ they’ve invested into the game for character slots, permanent gathering tools, black lion keys. There are so many people that pump money into the gemstore.
The one thing that will bother me, is if they don’t an expansion on the gemstore. While a lot of people are happy to pay the $20 for a new expansion – and most will happily. I think it’d be a nice sign to see the same expansion for X000 gems as well. This allows everyone to experience the new content- while raking in the $$$$$ from the people that can afford it too.
GW1 had no real “shop” other than character slots. Everything else seemed less important. Skill unlocks and skins sure, and eventually a make over ticket but this really came towards the end of the games life.
GW2 has a much bigger player base and just looking around at the player base I see people with endless logging tools, Job-o-tron back packs, costumes and Flutes all the time. They are making a lot of money from just the people buying the items – Not to mention all the people that exchange gems – gold on a monthly if not weekly basis.
I do not believe GW2 needs to release a paid expansion for this reason alone.
However! We shall see what PAX brings and the update today might hint at whats to come.
Just a comment. Guild Wars 1 did have mini stories/lore so it wasn’t all character slots, etc. If you wanted to see this lore, you had to buy.

The staff looks like it was derived from the legendary trident.
I thought that immediately when I saw it. Not that I felt it was a negative because I would love to have the trident skin as a necro staff, but this one is good too. Though I would have preferred a purple (like the mordrem color) or maybe green mist rather than blue.

I know right. Lol. I have 8 also and if I play them equally (and I try to do so) that means each gets played for a couple of hours once every 8 days then has to stand aside to wait their turn again.
Whatever they reveal, im sure it will come in a huge box that, once opened, will reveal some teasers and another box, which will reveal some more teasers that, once played backwards, will basically tell the same message as the first teasers, plus another box.
That box will definately include a green and blue weapon.
The items will need to have no vendor price and sale on the TP for 1c each.

I did not ask support because of the above quote which states they will not reimburse skins. I have now submitted a request to see if there is anything that can be done, or at the very least get an answer. I shall keep the thread updated with the response, as I’m sure the OP will.

I need help too, recently returned and the champ train on Frostgorge is now a mess. I went to this Silverwastes and I’m almost alone. I googled it and read a guide but I found no people at that location. I am confused… Is there still a working champ train in the game? I would like EotM champ farming if my server weren’t outnumbered all the time…
Right now not many people are in Silverwastes. Most have finished the grind for the current armor so far released and have been doing Wintersday content. I’m expecting them to return when Wintersday ends and the next story section (and armor) is released.
I have the EXACT same issue. Also lost Rox’s quiver. I don’t see why Anet cannot restore purchases? After all we did pay real money for them . .
You asked Support and they said no? Did they give a reason why?
Edit: I’m going to guess there is a time limit involved. Maybe they only keep records for a certain amount of time and anything older than that is deleted. Most people who contact support about the gem store had problems right away. Keeping records of all individual sales past that time is usually not needed.
Maybe ANet could consider making tomes/writs/scrolls no longer bound but sellable on the trading post. Obviously some people don’t value them and being able to sell them would allows those who do to get more.
Just a thought.
(I have about 780 scrolls of knowledge I might never use but might be willing to sell)

I miss all the racial forums. And the black lion forum. I don’t really understand why so many things had to be removed in leiu of the forum “rearranging”, especially when all the old stuff is still there in the archive, so its not like they’re even clearing up space.
Wasn’t the reason given was the loading time to open the various sub forums? It was too much iirc so they smashed them into one.
I leveled 9 chars to 80 the old pre NPE/trait system way and enjoyed it. I’m saving up tomes now in case they give us a new profession/race so the new trait system will have the least impact on me. I’ll still have to do it but at least I can power through and get the minimum needed for one build. (So much for the new trait system encouraging experimentation).
The game has Megaservers now, which means the servers no longer have any sort of identity. Each map you go on will have people from all the servers on it. The only reason to pick one map over another is for WvW.
Idk. As you can see, no one else is making a thread about it or commenting on this one, so no telling why yours did that. As long as you are able to log in and don’t see anything wrong, that’s the main thing.
Personally I find them a curse. See, I am lazy, so I cannot leave them unused. My latest EU character went from 0 to 80 in under 10 minutes. I didn’t really have time to get to know him like the others.
Luckily I will not be getting quite as many in the future.
You’ll get 10 for every 28 logins, or 130 for every 365 logins. (Which comes to 1 every 2.8 days) ^^
One thing I’ve noticed is ori and ancient wood normally respawn at reset unless you’ve harvested them within the six hours before reset. In that case they respawn that much later. For example, if you harvest them 2 hours before reset, it’s 4 hours after reset. 5 hours before reset then it’s 1 hour after reset. So if you harvested them today within the 6 hours before reset, they aren’t going to show until the timer ticks over.
Where do you get so many tomes? I have 8 and played already over 2.5k hours, all professions on level 80 – I don’t need them, but I just wonder how you can get so many tomes? Is it the PvP rewards? Be cause I don’t do any PvP.
People have been getting them from PvP and rarely from black lion chests. Now with the new dailies you will get 10 (or 16 if you chose them from the Chest of Knowledge) every 28 days.
Mine will go for key farming and some will be set aside to go toward a new profession/race if that’s ever put in. But key farming is the main use for me so I use all the ones I get.
