RoT didn’t xfer for a league win, just FYI. Also we weren’t recruited. We came for the community, the shorter queue times, and the fights against the other silver league servers. (Also to beat up on FA a little, couldn’t pass up on that opportunity. We miss them so much.)
It’s really nice to not be fighting server blobs on every map from JQueue, Sanctum of Bags and StackGate. You Silver leaguers really know how to bring a fight without always resorting to massive blobs (although it happens on occasion, and SBI does it too.)

Sorry, do you want people not to play WvW just ’cause we outnumber you? Do you want me to not play with my guild ’cause 20-25 people is more than the number that you’re roaming with, even though I like playing with friends?

Coverage is an issue, and I think most everyone that plays WvW recognises this fact. We like even and hard fights, so we look for them where we can, but we also play as a guild and a community. Please respect our desires to play how WE want to play, even if that means us rolling over you sometimes when we outnumber your forces. It happens in reverse, too, where we’ve been rolled by multiple guilds from IoJ, CD, BP and YB. But 90% of the time we’ll blast fires, drop veils and push in regardless of numbers, hoping to come out the other side mostly intact.

And if I’m firing from an AC, I leave the bags alone until the end, because I’d rather shoot the zerg than stop to pick up loot. Sometimes loot bags run out of timers and will vanish forever.

Just in case you didn’t know, you can bind a key to “AoE loot” in the options screen. Using that key, you can pick up all the loot bags around you even while you’re firing away on an AC.

Thanks for the info, but I know. I just don’t want to let go of the AC and have to readjust the camera angle again. Those two seconds could be vital.

But if AOE loot is bound to a key (NOT AOE loot on Interact – that’s something different), you don’t even have to get off the AC at all. Just spam your loot button while firing.

Truth. It’s where I farmed powerful blood for my legendary. Just kill them on your way past each time.

I think we saw krew alone maybe twice on reset night. And you always had more numbers than us (we capped at 18 people last night.) I personally died 4 times total on reset, so I can say you didn’t wipe us that many times, no matter how hard you want to PvF (you’re not up to magswag levels, but nice try.)

Feel free to fight us with even numbers sometime, though. I look forward to it.

Why not kill the people standing there ressing someone? I mean, they can’t use any skills (other than instant cast cantrips/shouts/mantras) while reviving, and can’t heal. What’s the issue? You get to free-cast on them for 5-10 seconds. If you can’t kill someone in that long, then there’s an issue in your playing, not with the ressing mechanic.

Commanding a large group of people is hard work. If I’m tagged up and start getting nonconstructive flak from the people I’m leading, then you bet your kitten I’m untagging and running a guild group instead. If you have suggestions, phrase them that way. I respond in kind. If you’re insulting me, why should I put up with that?

When do guild emails start going out so we can start playing in the map and testing its possibilities?

What’s the approximate size of the map (say, compared to a BL or EBG?)

What happens if there is an overflow with no enemies to fight? Not looking for another PvE map here. Fights are integral to WvW.

Different styles of keep/tower lords were mentioned. Can we get a preview of a couple of them?

“Why can’t I pick something up when I’m dead?” – you realise how silly that sounds, right?

Geyser has 3 pulses of healing, so don’t lead it too far. First is on cast, then at 1 and 2 seconds. I see too many eles put it ahead of themselves. If you’re traited with blasting staff, then you can cast the close edge on yourself and still have room to dodge to proc the blast finisher from EA.

Beta hasn’t actually started yet.

30 arcana is just an old crutch that people need to learn to get over. Max should be 20 if you want to run blasting staff, but its definitely not needed. I would even say that only 10 is the max in arcana and thats just for the extra boons/fury on attunement. If you want more endurance, run a sigil of energy in a wep.

I dunno, I have 30 in arcana and am quite happy with it. It lets me cycle to water that tiny bit earlier if my group needs it (combined with shorter water cooldowns) for regroups, and also gives EA for condi cleanses and blast finishers.

GoEP will inflict its conditions on yourself (except chill, for some reason) if you use a skill that grants yourself vigor (Phoenix or Heat Wave.)

Test and reproduction: Cast GoEP in any attunement but water -> cast phoenix -> receive condition.

It’s Josh Foreman’s initials in New Krytan. He has these hidden all over Tyria. There are at least two of them in LA.

I don’t think anyone from CERN streams, at least not regularly.
RoT mainly plays open-field, not ppt – we started as a ‘GvG’ guild, so not ANet’s desired playstyle for WvW by all accounts. :P

I know of 2 guilds on a silver league server. I don’t know if they have posted about it yet, though, so I’m not going to announce anything for them.

TC definitely had one if I recall another thread about this topic correctly…

TC is gold league, not silver, and has at least 3 guilds in the beta. (3 that I know for sure, possibly others)

This shows that even skill-clickers can solo a level 15 champ on an 80 in exotics/ascended!

No NDA, so expect some streaming, or at least pictures, from the chosen guilds.

These new players are all from PvE running full zerkers that refuse to listen to commanders and just want their achievements done.

Getting them wiped a few times is probably the best thing to do in order to make them understand WvW is not PvE.

Zerker works fine for most professions in open field.

I took you seriously initially and then looked at your tag.

I’m from AoN and zerker is fine depending on the situation.

What matters orders of magnitude more than gear is whether the person playing the class understands his class, it’s role in whatever he’s trying to do, it’s limitations, and the classes of the people he’s engaging.

This of course assuming that your aren’t in a massive skill-lagged blob only allowing you to press 11111111. That’s not really playing the game though.

Yeah, I love running my (almost) full zerk ele. Those 8-9k meteor shower hits are a wonderful thing. The only issue is when none of my utilities work in a skill-lag fest.

So don’t follow the bad commanders, follow the good ones. No-one says you can’t tag up when there’s another tag already running. If you’re better, then you’ll have people following you.

I got 8 ranks last night… your monthly laurels get you 5 ranks, which can happen up to three times during the season, plus a rank for every second daily you complete.
15+24(.5)=39, which means you only actually have to farm 11 ranks total, if you’re willing to spend your laurels.

I too have argued that we need a “hide footwear” option on characters, but to no avail. We got the option to hide gloves/gauntlets not that long ago, and that was in response to a bug that was needed to be fixed. hint

I think Spark is currently sitting at around 700g, if I remember correctly. I use dungeon tokens to forge, while saving up gold. One of these will result in me getting it, eventually. :P

Yup, the rainbow shifting colours on the staff shaft give it away as celestial stats (or at least the celestial skin – could have transmuted other stats onto it, I guess.) The overall skin shape is the new ascended ones.

TA’s getting an update next patch, WvW leagues coming mid-October, new legendaries confirmed in the Legendary/Ascended weapon livestream, New Fractals incoming before the end of the year, plus events like Hallowe’en and Wintersday will definitely be back in.

We have an exciting couple of months ahead of us.
