The downed penalty is a little red/yellow/grey arrow next to your health pool, not a blue debuff that stops your traits working.
I don’t see how this adds anything, but sure:
I can run around the world, be anywhere, fight and kill things, still stuck with the ‘downed’ debuff.
The achievement for this puzzle is (strangely) not located at the chest, but on the wooden platform just before you get there. Hope this helps!
So I have this happening. I don’t know how or why, but it makes Evasive Arcana (Ele, Arcana, XI) not work at all, in addition to all other ‘if this then that’ traits (might/vigor/fury on cantrips, armor of earth at 50% health, regen on water attunement.)
Any response here? Anyone have the same issue? Any reason for this?
I have a “Tome of Rubicon (Infused)” and cannot transmute it (using fine transmutation stones) to have it’s same stats and another look (either the hallowe’en book or the toymaker’s bag.)
I can, however, transmute the items the opposite way, and have the look of the book with the junk stats of the level 10 or 0 item.

Why no wintersday scepter or focus in the gem store? Makes me a sad ele.
This is the point of the post. For someone taking the time to earn enough gold to buy it and we are left with crap stats and we shouldn’t be. Are players forced to transmutate their Karma armor after earning and spending 252,000 karma? Are players forced to transmutate their exotic dungeon armor after 30 dungeon runs for tokens? NO. So why should people be penalized for going after cultural armor?
Uh. Yes, they are, if they don’t have the stats they want. I want CoF looks with Power/Vit/Toughness stats? I have to transmute either AC armor or Invaders (WvW) armor to get that (which I have done.) What’s the big deal with having to transmute an armor set to get noth the stats and the looks you want? That’s the whole point!
This DoA solo was NOT done for speed or loot, but to show what can be done with the game. You’d get way more loot from running group DoA clears in that time. It’s not always about farming, sometimes it’s about the prestige…

It’s all one button, it toggles between attack and guard when you click it.
Not at home, and mos.millenium.org is out of date, can we get a score update? Amazing fights all week!
Wouldn’t it make sense to have an “Urgoz/The Deep”-style, separate, lfg lobby for fractals instead of having LA fill with spam? For it being a social hub, /map has been getting highly repetitive with ‘lfg fractal level x’ lately.
Also, fix DC reconnects. 60 seconds in-game after DC-ing (with the option to reconnect) would fix both this dungeon issue, and the wuvwuv Alt-F4 craze.
So, um, were any of you guys planning on actually trying to take SMC tonight, or just dying inside the outer walls?
Thanks for the badges.
Well, Guess I’ll be selling the 2 precursers I got for my ele’s legendaries, seeing as I won’t be making them for her if she’s in retirement. And the mesmer I was levelling… well. That’s gonna be useless now. Guess I roll a warrior like everyone else?
Had a good 1v1 with an FA warrior in HoD BL today (forgot his name but had a Twilight GS). The first time like 4 wolves interfered lol, and you almost got me the 2nd time.
Anyways, I hope DH players will learn from this match, alot still need to learn alot. One of them should also be to not run away or quit when things get hard, we dont need those kind of players in our corner, please transfer, which Im sure you will.
Sounds like Targaryen [PTX], maybe?
Fair enough. I can’t speak for it personally, as I don’t really spawn camp, but in my experience larger groups like that tend to be disorganized. We’ve steam rolled through a numbers disadvantage like that all the time. It’s all about that decisive strike. If you’re getting those odds at the back entrance, then, yeah you’re in a tough spot. Still. stealth bombing, portal bombing can break a defensive position really easily.
A minor criticism I do have of my fellow FA guys is that we tend to be terrible defenders.
I think that’s pretty fair. But as easy as it is to practice offensive tactics vs. empty keeps and defended positions, it’s sometimes hard to get your opponents to coordinate with you to get really good practice in on the defensive end. :P
If any HoD/DH guilds want to do some practice manoeuvres for attack/defense, shoot me a PM and I’ll try to get something sorted out.
That scoreboard looks amazing. FA wants to play with whichever 2 of you don’t move from your bracket. Looking forward to a sweet week of intense fighting. <3
lol holy jeebus
Hmm… I definitely don’t condone this spawn camping. I’ll be talking to the PTX peeps doing this (and our wvw officer corps.)
Back off the spawn camps and get some real fights going.
Blocking all 3 exits? Can you get 5-10 people with a mesmer to portal bomb the seige from a side? You’re never fully stuck in your base.
Also give cardinal directions. Where players are coming FROM is as important as where they’re going TO. “20-25 invaders inc to Bay NE outer door from East with supporting treb fire from garrison” is something I like to see. “OMG their whole zerg is at our keep” is completely useless.
Keep on scouting. The more info you give, the better people can respond.
I/We (PTX) have portal/stealth bombed spawn points before, but we don’t spawn camp. It’s fun to get in past the legendary defenders and wipe the NPCs, though. >.>
Yeah, we brought the fight back to YB a little late last week. I think we could give you a consistent run for your money in a rematch.
Many <3s, everyone on FA.
To be fair, being on the winning side of a blowout is just as aggravating as being on the losing side. At least on the losing side you can do stuff like ninja towers, disrupt supply, flip camps and sentries and generally be a huge pain in the kitten. Now on the winning side we’re kinda sitting here scratching our heads wondering what there is to do – really no fun. (Xandra – PTX – Fort Aspenwood)
My favourite moment of last night was our PTX group (plus a couple of roamers) Ninja-ing Hills keep in Yaks BL in about 12 minutes flat. So much fun. We got through 2 walls and to the Guild Claimer before your response hit us.
That and the portal bomb to save a tower from the YB group that were already through the gate when we got there.
Great co-ordination and sound strategies >> Zerg mentality
Hey, just to let you guys know, I also had this issue. What fixed it for me was a CLEAN install of my latest nVidia drivers, rather than an update. I’m not guaranteeing it will work for you, but it can’t hurt to try.

Hey, I’m getting the same issue with being unable to connect to the IP range 64.25.32.**
My client hangs at 0KB downloaded before it hits the actual login screen.
I have done the following to try to resolve this:
-Uninstalled AVG completely (as I was told AVG doesn’t play nicely with GW2)
-Running the game with my PC directly connected to my modem (bypassing my router) with all firewalls turned off, in DMZ mode.
-Manually opening all ports and running the game.
(I do have a current ticket open with support (many thanks to both Luis and James for working with me on this issue,) but I thought I’d let you know that you’re not the only one with this issue.)
So, starting this evening, I’m unable to launch the game client. It hangs on the pre-login screen.

It looks like it’s actually failing at the GW2 servers. I submitted a ticket, but was wondering if there’s anything I can do in the meantime to try to resolve this. (full GameAdvisor log is attached)

Playing S/D condition spec in Arah, TA, SE, CoE explorables. While it’s true that condition damage does suck in massive groups/world events, it’s SO good in dungeons where (in a solid group) I’m maintaining 10-15 stacks of might 24/7, my 15-20 stacks of bleed hit for 160-170 each. Being able to solo-farm all of Orr, taking down champions solo (yes it takes a while, but condition spec at least lets you DO it by maintaining constant damage when you’re kiting.) I love my ele, and wouldn’t trade her for the world.
[Elementalist] Swapping into Air attunement causes character to auto attack nearest mob
Posted by: Atrophied.8725
Still an issue. Really hope this gets fixed soon. The main point of Air Attunement, from what I can see, is mobility. Having switching to the attunement slow you down by automatically putting you in combat is clearly hindering that.
Also, really sucks in WvW when you’re trying to meet up with your group after long queue times only to target and attack a zerg of defenders when trying to sneak past undetected.
Thief’s shortbow doesn’t work across gaps, no teleport/shadowstep does. They all only work if you target somewhere you can walk to with no jumps.
Why the focus on eles? I’m an 80 ele and can solo pretty much anything. Did 100% Orr completion solo (except the temples, obviously) – that means all 3 of the zones. I have no problem clearing things fast. You have 16 skills to use, cycle through them, pop your utils on cooldown and use earth elemental to tank for you. I can chain blinds, maintain ~20 stacks of bleed (at >130/stack) and inflict burning. Mobs melt.
ETA: Also, prior to my zone clears, my guild was running events in cursed shore, while I only had Straits of Devastation unlocked (about as far as the Viziers Tower) – So I ran through the rest of the zone and through Malchor’s. Easy, no deaths. Just learn to play your class.
