Astralaria IV has a collection item gated behind the failing of Defense of Arah in Cursed Shore. (I mean, I guess technically it’s somewhere in the ‘Assault the Gates of Arah’ chain, but that never happens seeing as it’s so easy to hold and defend.

Been sat here pretty much all day trying to reason with people so they let it fail just once, but to no success. Would be nice if the “Magnification Lens” would be available from another source, such as the Eye of Zhaitan in Zho-Qafa Catacombs in Straits.

Within a week after release, we received some stats from GW2 devs regarding guild hall world firsts, ratios of Lost Precipice to Gilded Hollow claims etc. Any chance of that again soon? A few guilds must be pretty close to guild level 40 at this point and it’d be nice to have kind of a ranking of where the top NA and EU guilds stand, what % of guilds are at what % completion, guild hall ratios etc

Things like world first SMC claim, or first maxed out mine/tavern/workshop etc… would be nice to see, too. Give guilds some friendly competition in pushing things forward!

The problem is that you can’t make some of the items needed to progresss, because there is no 2nd tier refining unlocked.

Also, the basic writs (and theses) all have the same stat buff (+40 power over 90% health) instead of being power/precision/condi as their names suggest.

Also beta characters aren’t supposed to be able to earn rewards – and I assume that would include influence for the guild.

So with all beta characters being deleted “[d]ue to large back-end changes to core systems that have corrupted some of the beta data”, do we get a fresh bank loadout so I can actually stock up ascended armor to run frac 50s with a fresh beta ele/guard/ranger?

Will there be a fresh bank/account duplication for BWE2? I forgot to put my ascended gear into the bank for the last one and didn’t have it available to run my new tempest into fractals. Was wondering if I’d be able to do so this time or if I’m passing on another BWE.

Well that’s just categorically untrue.

Go do some dungeons without utilising control effects and active defense. So no immobilises, no deep freeze, no defiance stripping, no timed aegis or protection uptime.

Then come back and tell me that only DPS matters again.

There is no healing role. There is no tank role. But there’s much more to the game than just DPS.

I agree that Subject 6 and Tar should be subject to this same rule in records. You’re completely negating the boss by immobilising it in both instances.

Just ‘cause the boss is moving at 75% health instead of 100% health doesn’t change what you’re doing to negate it’s attacks.

IMO the rule should be adjusted to ‘using immobilise to prevent a boss from acting is banned’ or the rule should be struck.

(Caveat: I’m not a speedrunner, just an outsider looking in and seeing discrepancies in the way the rules are being formulated and enforced)

The first set of traps in AC Story mode are no longer able to be interacted with. Not a huge deal, seeing as you can just walk past them anyway, but the pugs I ran with managed to wipe on the flame traps today when they didn’t turn off.

I like that we’re given reasons to go into Brisban now. I’ve always felt it was neglected with it’s lack of jumping puzzles (it’s the only explorable zone in the game without one) and lack of world bosses. The skritt meta event is kinda cool, but it’s doable solo, and the ‘Trinity’ champ group is one of the best flavour and inside jokes in the game – sadly often not completed.

The s/f build is a heck of a lot of fun. Been playing it since I started sPvP about 150 matches ago. I’m by no means great at it, but it lets you hold your own against burst with its defensive skills, negate LB rangers with winds and reflects and can pack enough condi cleanse to take down necro, condi theif, and engi. Add doom sigil when you’re up against war/guard/ele and you’re laughing. The only profession I still have issues fighting right now is mesmer (and s/d thief…)

Things tried: google public DNS, router reset

The stone deposits you in your home instance, which contains 1/day harvesting nodes, a couple of basic merchants and the skill point commune. You’d never need to go there with more than one toon per day. The ‘exit’ point of the home instance will not send you to the respective city, but instead back to your original location. It’s not a ‘fast-travel’ stone, it’s a link to an instance of your ‘home’ from your current world position.

It’s retaliation. And is it really necessary for the mobs to list every buff that they put on themselves?

The original Personal Story already works like this as long as you’re on the same story step as the instance owner. You get a pop-up at the end asking if you’d like to accept credit for completing each step.
If you are NOT on the same step (either for living story, or personal story) you will not be eligible for progression credit.

TL;DR – Personal Story and Living Story group progression works exactly the same, and always has.

I’m guessing this isn’t actually a LAN, ‘cause GW2 isn’t Local Area Network supported for direct connections. 0-ping tourneys would be cool though

FYI you can stack bloodlust underwater and come onto land while retaining stacks even if your land weapon doesn’t have the sigil. Nerf pls.

For starting out, and learning wvw. Probably 0/0/2/6/6 and zerk/cav/knight/soldier mix. Transition to more damage and full zerk as you get more comfortable surviving.

In large zergs I’m currently running 4/4/0/2/2 full ascended zerk w/strength runes.

For smaller group fights against superior numbers, I run the same armor/runes, switch 2 trinkets to cavalier and swap my traits to 0/2/0/6/6

You can maintain your stacks if you have an underwater weapon with the same sigil in it, though

In GW1 there was an NPC in Tarnished Haven that would praise you for which title tracks you had completed.

The issue I have with the leagues, is that a server that can’t compete with TC is going to place above them in the standings due to a bad scoring system. gg ANet

It doesn’t take hours to do all the PvE dailys. It takes even less to do just the five you need a day. You can also do this once every two days by playing through the reset. So you don’t even need to play every day.

OK, now read the thread title and the rest of the OP. Doing every PvE and PvP daily takes somewhere between 3 and 5 hours, depending on soloQ. OP was asking how people can dedicate time every day all year round to doing this, without taking breaks or running into RL issues that stop them playing.

I don’t know of anyone who has successfully completed every daily since launch. Even the people at the top of the leaderboard have missed a few.

I’m curious as to how you think this would improve your QoL while playing. I mean, your inventory management would be horrendously difficult. Have fun salvaging, moving items, clicking text boxes in the TP/chat, adjusting any options in the settings. Also, were you planning on only ever tab-targeting instead of click targeting, ‘cause I think you’d end up running into the same issues while fighting a thief/mesmer with lots of stealth when you need to retarget them quickly as they pop in/out of stealth.

Try binding skill 1 to [Space] and you can spam it with your thumb while doing whatever else you want wrt moving/strafing/jumping (rebind jump to [Shift] or [Alt])

Hmm, GW1 I farmed UW and bought tormented weapons for ecto. GW2 I farm WvW and buy tormented weapons for gold. I don’t see much of a difference, other than making a similar amount of money in GW1 was more boring and monotonous. At least blob farming in WvW is different every time instead of 600/smite or UWSC.

I’m just looking for ward to getting my tormented shield back. Best skin.

I had human T3 armor, and paid the gems for the ‘flame’ upgrade. I’ve since upgraded to ascended stats, and my armor now looks hideous. There goes another 119g for a second full light T3 set. Ahh well, at least I get my 800 gem refund, right? :-/

EDIT: I don’t think ANet should give splitters…from what I understand about them is that they return the original armor to it’s original skin, right? If it were me, I’d rather have Crystals so I could buy what I want and re-skin.

Coming from someone who doesn’t have to buy another set of Tier 3 Cultural to get their preferred skin back, since even splitters would just give me the base ascended crafted skins now, since I’ve upgraded my stats.

If I file a refund claim, what happens to my current armor skins? Do I have to delete them to get my refund? Does the refund cover the cost of a new set of T3 or a set of transmute splitters to get my old armor back? (Actually, would that even work, since I’ve since placed the skin over an ascended set?) How do I get my old Human Tier 3 set back?

Over 800 chests, nothing ascended. You’re not missing out on anything.
