I have both email and mobile verification turned on, if someone got hold of account info for my game, my email and had my cell phone, then the fact that they have access to a saved gift credit card number from my last gem purchase (‘cause I never use my actual CC for security purposes,) is not really a concern.
I’d like this removed on a case-by-case basis, ‘cause it’s a real pain to have to get support for gem purchases 2-3 times/month when I hit the throttle limit.
My birthday booster (with 20+ hours left on it) was also removed when I entered the hub. I saw the warning on the zone entries and left ‘cause I didn’t want to permanently lose the booster, but it was gone anyway once I exited to Rata Sum.
Yeah, I’d like to see the footage of you wiping what looked to be ~2.5 times your numbers.
Shucks, wish I had recorded last night. RoT’s thingy in west keep sure was baffling. There were around 2x our numbers I’d guess and they still kept running every which way, and a lot of TC died because I guess their commander ordered them to stack on the docks while grenades rained down on them. Very loyal soldiers, I guess.
Hmm. Seeing as RoT had, at most, 23 members online and in WvW, that’s amusing to read. We were running with 15-18 most of the night.
Yeah, I’d like to see the footage of you wiping what looked to be ~2.5 times your numbers.
This is hands down one of the most baffling asinine arguments I have seen on the forums yet. Essentially a bunch of OCD crafters angry their list is no longer complete. Discovering exotics prior to the new update holds no purpose unless you need to use those items or wish to trade them. To discover every single recipe seems very pointless. You gain no xp, no achievements, or any other reward for doing so. It seems like the sole purpose is to fulfill some compulsive urge.
Anet should not refund anyone anything in resetting them, you are losing nothing in the process. You still keep your learned recipes from Recipe Items, and will now actually gain xp for discovering recipes. It’s mind boggling you have somehow found a way to find fault in this.
By that merit, playing this game is pointless, you don’t gain any money or life improving benefits from it. The only reason you do play is to fill some compulsive urge, it’s almost as if some people do things for fun.
Can my reward for getting all those discoveries not be personal pride in the accomplishment and enjoyment I got out of finally completing it? I mean, it’s something that actually takes effort/gold and is, in my mind, an achievement in itself.
Just because something doesn’t fit your precise definition of ‘fun’, doesn’t mean everyone conforms to the exact same standard. Get off your kitten high horse.
Great night last night in MagBL. 6 solid hours of (mostly open field) fighting with 20+ RoT all night.
Still looking for a few good eles, necros and thieves. Other classes also welcome, but being the only ele in a guild group of 20 is stressful and tiring. :p
I’m looking forward to all the luck I’m gonna get from salvaging the blues/greens. I’m saving inventory and bank space by having 8 stacks of boxes instead of ~2000 green items until Tuesday.
Where has it been mentioned anywhere that you get to keep discovered (not learned from items) recipes?
’Scuse me while I go out to buy 18 rare+ 18 exo sentinel insigs, and 19 rare+19 exo inscriptions. There goes a couple hundred g.
I would happily pay the extra for levelling to 500 (well, 450, ’cause from there you just discover ascended recipes) if I get to keep all the Sentinel recipes in my lists. <3
Remnants of Terror [RoT] is a newly formed semi-hardcore WvW guild based on Tarnished Coast. We run (almost) daily guild groups of 15-25 members looking for open field engagements to test our mettle. We will also be running GvGs once we have our core member base trained up and ready.
We have a guild website (enjin-hosted) located here and actively use the TC server Mumble (ask for the information in-game) for communication while running our raids.
We do ask for 100% guild rep while in WvWvW. Outside of WvW, you can rep whoever you want.
Guild raid times are generally at ~8pm EST (5pm server time) – these can be either tagged up or tagless, depending on the current map situation. Please be comfortable running either format.
For more information on [RoT], feel free to whisper myself (Xandra) or Obby Shards in-game.
The only saving grace on this, I guess, is that maybe ANet will be kind enough to let us salvage exotic sentinel into new sentinel recipes, or at least let us salvage the inscrips/insiga back out to recraft.
Sentinel recipes never dropped. They don’t exist. The only way to get sentinel insigs/inscrips was from molten facility end chests. They have never been craftable.
Sure, provide me the sentinel insigs/inscrips and I’ll combine them again and send you the resulting armor weapons. Thanks.
But I don’t want the weapons, I want my discoveries tab to remain completed.
You can’t make sentinel inscriptions. Or did you not know that?
What about those of us that spent serious gold to unlock all the sentinel recipes? Do we get refunded those insignias/inscriptions so we can discover them again to refill our crafting tables? Or do we have to spend hundreds of gold (again)?
Tick tock on the clock
But the party don’t stop no
Woah-oh-oh-oh
Woah-oh-oh-oh
Good fights last night on tcbl, qT and NS- you guys are tough. Wtb fights vs you forever.
All evening in WvW I’ve been getting feared, dazed, stunned and immobilized while supposedly invulnerable from mist and/or vapor form. This is happening on red borderland (currently TCbl)
Hai yumm, why you using our battle rooster as your guild emblem? Love, CERN.
I gotta say I find TC’s love of PPT to be absolutely mind blowing. I was watching people guard yak’s to the mag keep in EB, five people. That is impressive in a match that is just a zergfest and PPT is about as important as JQ’s view of being a T2 server.
People on TC roleplay in WvW as tower/keep/camp/dolyak/etc… guards. That’s why there are ALWAYS people in towers/keeps/camps/etc… alerting the zerg if someone strolls by.
I’m not joking at all, either.
You should see the in-character reporting of said enemy movements in /map chat. Full paragraphs of carefully parsed and flowing prose. It’s amazing. <3 TC.
So… what happens when orbs come back “Sooner than you’d think” and GvGs aren’t balanced any more?
Fight some GvGs, let someone else head up your guild WvW for a week, zerg some PvE for funsies (Balth temple is a good one and also helps out your server.) Most importantly: If you’re not having fun at something, don’t do it. Make sure you get sleep and do what YOU want to do. It’s a game, not a job.
Hey guys! If you’re a member/leader of The Shadow Legion [TSL], Seraphim Martyrs [BURN], Rethesis [RE], Myrmidon Elite [ME], or Zero Negative [ZN], I’ve sent a challenge to you guys for a GvG in gw2gvg.com! Please contact Nateralus/Slaughtis Ironwar or W Rod if you want to reschedule the time.
For anyone else that wants to challenge Night Shift [NS] into a GvG, please do so in http://www.gw2gvg.com/ and we’ll be looking forward to it! Let’s have some fun! (:
Hmm, I guess CERN need to create a guild profile there at some point, we usually arrange fites in-game. Nightlight’s been indisposed, so we’ve not been doing much GvG recently anyway. Hopefully we’ll be able to get Obby or someone equally awesome to lead a GvG squad this week.
Maguuma is the best server in NA. Fact.
For certain definitions of ‘best’

The jumping puzzles have to be unique; if you’ve already done them this month, then you don’t get credit for completing them a second time.
Also getting the ‘you are not in a guild’ message, being forcibly shown as offline (which means I can’t receive whispers), and hearing from other guild mates that the same is happening to them.
Guard, Thief, Warrior, Mes, Engi, Ranger, Necro <- I know people who’ve done it solo on all of these classes (I did it on my s/d zerk ele, personally, but have no doubt that I could also do it on my guard, warrior or mesmer)
As the title says, if you survive to the end of the Southsun Survivor challenge, hunger stacks don’t go away, and there’s no fancy rewards.
In case anyone’s wondering, hunger caps at 6 stacks, and all scavengable items despawn at 4:30 remaining. You need 8 rations at that time to survive to the end.
Same thing happened to me. Do T2 again, you’ll get progression.
Easy solution: 1AP for every yak escorted. Hardcore WvW folks should then get a few thousand points, and those pve people who would come in for easy AP would actually be helping the server. :p
I assume you mean guard defense, and yeah, it’s powerful but by no means the only line worth filling.
Edit: Wait this is from a livestream? Interesting.
Friday’s wvw livestream with Hugh. There were technical issues with the stream apparently, but I pulled that info from the short clips that are saved on ANet’s GW2 twitch channel.
It’s the FA double standard of blobbing up while complaining about blobbing and talking about their superior small squad teams busting big zergs which never happens. When AoN came to FA to “bust TC zergs” they got ran over by the TC freight train or laughed at and ignored.
As long as JQ brings some open field fights this week, I’ll be happy to meet them and the loot that it brings. I would say the same for FA but now that BT is gone, there doesn’t seem any guild zergs large enough to go toe to toe with TC or JQ zergs, and the FA pug zergs get wiped pretty easily.
To be fair, AoN are actually quite good, as were BT before they split into small guilds (VK took their best, iirc, and then split themselves. I think those players make up SIC (?) these days – am I right Alaric?)
There are definitely FA numbers to combat TC and JQ zergs, they just don’t have coverage to do it 24/7, like TC doesn’t have coverage to combat JQ 24/7. We’ll all fight where and when we can, getting as many lootbags as we can hold (and then merching so we can pick up the rest.)
Every server has good, mediocre and bad players. There’s no exception to this rule. There are no entrance exams to get into any server. Similarly, every server has good, mediocre and bad commanders. The good ones get crazy respect and big zergs, the mediocre ones are followed by at least their guild, and a decent number of militia, and by and large the bad ones get ignored fairly quickly. :P
Currently TC is missing a couple of it’s ‘big name’ commanders (Chuu is on sabbatical, Nightlight has no internet other than his tethered iPhone), which means we don’t really have those HUGE server zergs for long periods of time. We’ve done fairly well in splitting our forces the last couple of nights, imo. It’s still a learning experience for us, but we’re trying. :P
Hmm. Every tower on the borderlands has good cata spots to take down walls. 7 of the 12 towers in EB have solid and well-used catapult spots in addition to OLK inner. Also Hills, and Garrison on the borderlands maps. I can see the cata line being quite good and well-used, especially with the 75-point trait being able to absorb incoming cata/treb shots.
So, taken from the livestream, here’s the points breakdown and the benefits:
5pts: Damage to walls +20%
15pts: Gravel shot now applies bleeding
30pts: Increased radius of all catapult skills
50pts: Damage increase on all catapult skills +25%
75pts: Siege bubble (Destroys incoming enemy projectiles)
Discuss!
Wheres nightlight these days? I like him.
He’s having connection issues, ISP change is being worked on. For now he’s occasionally playing via iPhone LTE (4G connection). Don’t worry, he’ll be back soon, and he’s raging about missing out on “wiping JQ blobs” <3
You got 531 kills? Omigosh, my 1.5k last night can’t even compare.
Since it seems the official mascot of TC is the Dolyak, and no idea what we (JQ) use the most, what’s the mascot for FA? This thread is a breath of fresh air to read as well!
The Kurzick Juggernaut, duh.
And JQ’s should be the siege turtle!!
I like turtles
Queue is random, generally I requeue every 20 minutes, and have never been in queue more than 1.5 hours even on days when I’ve heard there are 3-4 hour queues on borderlands/ebg.
A good number of TC guilds have been doing that same thing for a while. Tagless is the new thing.
It’s called “Icelord’s Diadem” and it’s available from the Hall of Monuments after you accumulate 24 HoM points ( http://hom.guildwars2.com , http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Hall_of_Monuments )
Keeps are 25 points. On a side note, your home BL is worth more than your section of EB + SMC. Many people dont seem to realize this.
Corrected.
Also debatable, however this isn’t the place :P
Not debatable
Home 3rd of EBG + SMC = 35+25+10+10+5+5 = 90 points
Home Borderland = 25*3 + 10*4 + 5*6 = 145 points
Even if you don’t hold the bottom 3rd of your map, but maintain all 3 keeps and everything north of them:
Borderland = 25*3 + 10*2 + 5*3 = 110 points — More than EBG 3rd + SMC
I remember one time that CERN and RE did work together and SOR still outnumbered them 2 to one. That’s when they introduced us to their Necro zerg. >.<
That Necro zerg was pretty painful until we learned how to fight them, but once we got them to burn their wells on some empty ground, they were useless for 40 seconds. :p
Theeeere we go, patch notes are now up. Just a little delayed :P
Any chance of these being released? Was it just maintenance? 45MB of update seems like something got fixed/tweaked.
Yup, waiting for those patch notes. :P
You can’t have obtained the 3k chest yet, it’s not available to anyone until this evening’s reset.
Chests so far: 100, 500, 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500
That’s: Tuesday (before reset), Tuesday reset, Wednesday reset, Thursday reset, Friday reset, Saturday reset.
Could be a new initiate to the Zephyrites since they landed. They do pull people from other cultures into their fold. Just because the Sylvari is a Zephyrite, doesn’t mean she’s always been one.
