Here is the build.

Don’t be shy. Express your selves.
Just to make all those thiefs that posted here feel pathetic showing the truth of this OP class:
Let me give you a tip since your napkins run out.
If an X build of Thief is strong, guess who should whine/whines first? A thief. You know why? Go buy some more napkins and I will tell you.
I’m guessing 0, 10, 30, 0, 30
unsuspecting foe
shield mastery/dogged march, sundering mace, cleansing ire
warrior sprint/vigorous focus, destruction of the empowered, burst masteryzerk ammy, sigil of paralyzation om mace/shield set and melandru runes
So pretty much a standard M/Sh/GS build with vigor on stance? I currently go back and forth between 0 20 20 0 30 and 0 10 30 0 30. If it was that simple you really think this guy would care whether it is shared? Of course, I didn’t watch him play so who knows. Also, I find Hoelbrak to work better than Melandru for me.
But… isn’t he using soldier’s amulet, sword mace and mace shield in the video?
http://www.twitch.tv/defektive/b/430003013
Am I watching the wrong one?
Weapons: Mace/Shied switching to Sword/WarhornorMace (Don’t know for which weapon those two last skills refer to)
Runes: Melandru
Amulet: Soldier
Stats attached..

How would Mesmer runes give you an extra second of daze.
Tactical is 1.5s in tpvp. 1.5×1.33 = 1.995 = 2s. However all dazes round up to the nearest second so 1.5 is already 2s. Unless your running sigil of paralyzation in addition with it, but last I heard those still weren’t working with Tactical strike in spvp.Confirm pl0x.
I messed up with the calculations and thanks for pointing it out.
I am currently reading this thread to maybe find out about it;
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/thief/Rune-of-Mesmer-Sigil-of-Paralyzation-issues
Maybe a thief can test it in game right now and let us know.

You have no fast hands, that’s basically a warrior staple and really gives you versatility in a fight.
Mace and hammer means you have a really slow attack speed and can’t really capitalize unsuspecting foe well, same logic with rending strikes, you’re not going to be stacking much vuln at the rate you’re attacking.
I personally feel the stance trait is a complete waste, almost anything is better than +1~2 seconds on your 40~60s CD stances.
With how you are geared to innately resist conditions (and have berserker’s stance) mending is probably not as valuable to you as healing surge, which is either a big heal or allows you to use your amazing burst skills on hammer and mace more. Which also cleanses conditions!
Weakness duration on hammer strikes me as kind of pointless, you have /one/ skill that causes weakness and you may even miss landing it. Maybe consider sigil of fire or something due to your moderate crit chance.
Finally you should probably find a way to not get kited constantly.
Thanks for the feedback. I will look into it more and respond appropriately. With the hammer you are right so I changed it to GS.

What an absolutely well-made argument, truly. The evidence provided here was just extraordinary. The thesis, legendary. Truly, a masterpiece that represents the epitome of modern debate.
Your language was clear and concise. You used a variety of extremely powerful literary devices to influence the readers’ thoughts on the topic at hand (going from a singular noun to a verb describing a plurality? Brilliant!). The argument was short yet to the point.
You, sir, will have monuments built in your honor. Your story shall be told to generations of children, aspiring just to be like you, for centuries. You will become a god among mortal men, and shall be known as one of the, if not the greatest human being to have ever lived.
Although I was laughing my kitten off reading your reply, I hope we are on the same length with the OP when it comes to the Immortal S/D build.
Update also Stealth Stunner S/D for tournament play.

Also regarding gear.
What type of gear I need in world vs world? Full berserker with ascended accessories?
What profession are you? I’d say that full berserker, while optimal for all forms of PvE, is generally a bit too glassy for WvW.
Well I was thinking of going like this as a Thief.
By the way lets say I am wearing X Skin but I want to use another skin while retaining the same stats(including runes). Is there a way to do so?
Also how the kitten do I get a berserker back?
Updated it.

Also regarding gear.

You get loot wxp and all that jazz from killing another player. You can buy gear that’s no better than pve stuff with all the xp and karma and badge you get. You get the same amount of ‘stuff’ from each killed player no matter if you did 1% of damage or 100% of the damage. So if your goal is to get most ‘stuff’ from wvw then you should run with a giant zerg rather than solo.
Most soloers like me do it for fun. I find zerging rather mindless and boring.
Are they going to introduce new world vs world skins in the future?
so many team do this now !
1 necro + 2 DD burst + 1 codi …
realy hard to live …
Holy you are Asian right?
Anyway, my advice is to tell a friend of yours to roll a necro. Necro is a must just like Guardian and Mesmer. The rest vary but usually an Elementalist and an Engineer complete the puzzle and seems most effective in the current team comp/meta than other variation but I could be wrong with the last two classes.

I thought I was being paranoid with that issue and was actually considering buying a new mouse. Thanks for the thread OP.
And I kept wondering what the kitten is going on.
I spend it to make dye and thats it.
Roll 5 Necs.
Aight.
If your new to the game, your better off joining a zerg and learning the basics before you start roaming solo.
Titles for killing players do come in the form of Ultimate Dominator. Getting this as a solo player, however, will be extremely time consuming. Only a few players have it so far. The quickest way to do it would be in an organized guild fighting large zergs. Running solo you kill less often.
There is no leaderboard for kills.
You can earn ranks from doing a lot of things in WvW. Basically just look at World XP on the wiki to explain how and you gain ranks and a reward chest for each rank. As a solo player I find I level quicker as I don’t mess around and go directly from one objective to the next. In a zerg there will be points, like ZvZ, where you will be earning more WXP but in the long run solo is quicker (although small group would be fastest if the group is disciplined).
I have been SPvPing since February so I am going to move away to World vs World until I find incentive to return back.
I found the link you mentioned – http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/World_Experience and initially it is intriguing.
Though if it was up to me I would have two types of ranks; solo and group. Solo rank would automatically change after I am grouped with someone. For group I would introduce different objectives that require a duo or a five-man-group.
Also I would given an advantage in each rank progression (different for solo and group) as well as incentive for other players to kill me without encouraging zerg play.
Other than anonymous player on player action, there isn’t an incentive to solo. The fact is that while you are running around on the map, at any point in time a group of 10 + enemies may stumble upon you and kick the crap out of you in an instant.
WvW is based mostly on objectives. Now, most of these objectives can be accomplished quite easily with a small team. A group of 4 or 5 players can easily take camps and towers, set up siege points, and also defend towers pretty well.
So when you kill one player what do you get instantly?
I would like everyone’s support in order to to provide feedback back to the community so we can be aware which programs exist and which ones are the most effective to use for Guild Wars 2*.
Your responses should try to follow this format;
Program(s) that I am using – Including combination of programs if required.
Evidence for reduced ping – Anecdotal evidence (Personal experience), Screen Shots, ect.
For example
Program that I am using – Wtfast
Evidence for reduced ping – Seems to be the most stable and consistent ping reducer out of them all.
*For example when I was playing other mmorpgs in the past Battleping was always the best choice.
If this thread is successful I shall include the most two efficient programs that reduce ping and summarize the conclusions .
Fact regarding the UK
After 12pm-2am its like nolagg-heaven.
I am new to Guild Wars 2 Pve and World vs World scene so I would like to have feedback from the community.
Can someone explain to me what type of incentives exist in world vs world a solo player? For example what do I get from killing a player(s)? New title, new gear, leaderboard/ladder position, ect?
Regardless of whether it will be removed, it was still extremely unprofessional to introduce a concept like that on a tournament level instead of allowing it to be seen via scrimmages by other teams and receive feedback.
I’d like to see many of the things we’ve discussed come into fruition.
- Replacement of Burning with Torment in Dhuumfire
- Changes to Automated Response
- Regen stacking in intensity or being boosted by each unique condition on you
- Weakness affecting condi damage.
Would be an interesting idea if each class had some passive unique condi hate (like if the enemy applies two or three conditions on you then your X stat increases by ect)
Looking forward to your return celly.
Final Version of the build.

I also agree with Empa on this one. The one tournament and three tournament was the best direction and the reasons were simple;
Most/all really good premades/teams would be playing three tournament mode while the rest of us (solo-duo quers-pugs) would be hitting the one mode tournament.
I am personally going to be sticking with PVE and World vs World for the following reasons;
1.I cannot commit to a team/make a team because of my work schedules at the moment.
2.Solo-duo que is still not separated.
3.They still haven’t removed Skyhammer from tournaments.
4.Map rotation needs to be daily – I honestly hate battle of kylo.
5.Like I said in another thread this game is starting to feel that 70percent is based on build and 30percent on skill – faceroll builds (one shot builds/mass abuse; evade, condition, ect)
There are many more but for the time being that is about it.
i quite like the map actually. not only cause it’s new, but the mechanics offer something different, albeit another node capture. mind you, it’s new as well.. and hopefulyl ANet is keeping an eye and will make tweaks necessary.
i know we can adapt and learn to have fun with whatever we’re given… no? no??
Yeah they need to make a supermario floating circle where it goes round and round and each time one person fells off the other team gets points.
I think what they need to do is generally nerf everything to the point where its not 75percent build and 25percent skill.
Lets all become warriors state.
(edited by Authority.6145)
Its a fun map.
50percent of kills = canon
40percent of kills= suicides
10percent of kills= from fights if you are lucky to witness that.
Tactics
One mesmer uses portal from close to canon
One engie/necro and one necro always guard and use canon.
One guardian goes to mid.
The last goes and caps your close or reinforces canon.
99.9percent of engies’ kills from suicides.
First thing that came to my mind was double necros double engies ggson.
Updated the initial build with this one
Stealth Stunner S/D

For the people who would like to experiment more with that; my best guess would be to leave 30 on SA (Stealth + Daze, repeat – see examples of D/P with perma stealth) and put the other 30 on CS or Trickery line.
i want to see signets across all classes have more interesting active effects, right now the effects for most signets are pretty boring (excluding necromancer)
reduced aoe damage, especially aoe condition damage
separation of stats from trait lines (only effective in pvp)
You mean merging signets together?
After playing around with stats, I think this is how a daze build should be with S/D if it ever becomes viable.

Melees need Cripple/Chill to be able to stick to a target. Only giving elementalist access to those will break the balance.
but i agree on the “secondly” part
I would assume that if my other demands are met then it shouldn’t be the problem with “balance” since i.e warriors and thieves already got access to immobilize, stun and daze. Like if aoe is toned down (for every class) as well as making the area of effect smaller then elementalists would need some unique conditions.
I personally think that if each class can bring specific conditions and boons and not this mess; evidently when watching streams when you see conditions and boons literally all over the place, then it might improve gameplay better
Personally, I have spend the last two weeks trying to check out the latest builds for each class so far as well as their weapon sets and to be honest it gives me a headache.
Added 3 versions. Ignore weapon sets for the time being.
Stealth Stunners

Version3.
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fYAQBViZq9c0JlT8nTIbKqwdiThRpUePIrxysA-TgAg0CnIkSJlTKjUSpsSB
Added two suicidal builds.
Concept is to deal with Necromancer(s) since CC is their weakness; getting immobilize + daze or blinded + daze.
Improvisation seems another trick in the book.
“Stealing recharges all skills of one type (venoms, signets, traps, tricks, or deceptions). Deal 10% more damage while wielding a bundle”.
This is a work in progress and by no means do I suggest any “viability”. They are both experimental like my other build was “10/30/0/0/30” until new patch showed up and brought some life into it.Maybe it might happen in the future as well.
(edited by Authority.6145)
as for what i want? the usual, bring lower tier classes more in line with the top tiers, in meaningful ways.
i think it would be nice if warriors had an F2 skill based on their heals. everyone and their mom wants warrior to be able to use adrenaline for something other than burst skills and everyone and their mom wants warrior to have better cleanses. you know where i’m going with this.
i think it’s about time ANet stops worrying about having to have each trait line with exactly 12 traits, and instead of merging traits around to make room for new ones, just add the new traits.
oh, and do something about thief’s last refuge. that thing triggers at the worst possible times.
I personally think this game in time will shift towards the “Holy Trinity”.
On side note, merging traits and introducing new ones is a great idea as well as the other person adjusting the camera view.
what the hell would “magic” even do? what are you talking about when you say “magic damage”?
you DO realize that all damage comes either from condition damage or power, right? there is no “magic damage” in GW2. you have attack, defense, health, crit chance. those are your basic stats, followed by healing, crit damage and condition damage.
Just another way of saying Condi Resist Jesus Christ.
No warrior conditions? Phooey
Those are just examples.
They could rework banners, give them shouts that reduce enemies armor, healing ability, maybe even add trembling where enemies panic in some way (different animation to fear; like the animation of an enemy(s) when an earthquake happens. They could make something that gives warriors better stats when they are kited with damage or conditions or even those with many boons on them.
some are good ideas (like splitting condi by profession), and others are not so good ideas (Condi Resist/Magic Stat)
Why should classes be exposed to magic/condi damage if they can spec around it? So it is fine to spec around reducing incoming power damage but not with condi/magic damage?
Every mmorpg that I have played has got Magic Resist stats and ways to spec around that.
Don’t be shy. Express your self.
BP stands for “Balance Patch”
I would like for them to redesign the concept of boons and conditions in terms of giving specific classes specific boons and conditions.
So for example
Weakness and Vulnerability only accessible to Guardians
Torment, Fear and Disease only accessible Necromancers.
Crippled and chilled only accessible to Elementalists
Confusion and Paralysis only accessible to Mesmers.
Bleed, Poison and Root (lose health the longer you are rooter) only accessible to Rangers
Daze/Stun and Blind only accessible to Thieves.
Burn + Quickmud (like quicksand) only accessible to Engineers
Trembling (where an enemy panics) with reworked banners +shouts only accessible to Warriors
You get the idea. .
Secondly,
1.Rework sigils and runes and reduce them extensively
2.Implement specific colors on aoe or combo field to make players understand whether your ally or your enemy is doing it.
3.More line of sight/animation improvement so it is clear and visible who is doing what.
4.Better gap closer concept between melee vs ranged class; increase cast time on ranged skills.
5.Introduce Condi Resist for each profession.
6.Tone down aoe and reduce area of effect significantly and condi damage.
Thats about it from the top of my head.
(edited by Authority.6145)
I have been steadily using Shadow Step + Shadow Trap and until something changes I will always have both of them.
Pretty much how I’ve always played my thief, props OP. I wonder how long it will take all the s/d wannabes to start playing with this build considering how they get destroyed by conditions and that’s where the meta seems to be going.
First of all, there is no such thing as S/D wannabes. S/D is a weapon set just like D/P and D/D.
Secondly, thieves are still forced to play S/D in TPvP because S/D is still superior than D/P for the reasons below;
1.S/D can make a thief “immortal” if played right (always surviving in team fights; aka Jumper’s build).
2.S/D is more effective than D/P because it removes conditions not only from weapon skill but also from using your elite as well as giving boons to your self.
3.S/D is more efficient with escaping from bad situations or bad positioning.
3.S/D is a pain in the kitten – You either deal with S/D thief or you let him keep stripping off your boons and generally annoy you while you focus other targets.
4.D/P has nothing more to offer than burst because it lacks initiative regen and condi removal (which you can only remove three specific conditions).
5.S/D can challenge a closeholder, D/P cant.
Also at the OP regarding Shadow Trap. There is nothing decent with it. It is so strong that I could write you too many examples and explain you why. Every Thief should always bring Shadow Trap because
a.There is no reason not to just as there is no reason for a mesmer never to have portal with illusion of life. It completes your role as a thief.
b.Teams bring you for a specific reason and everything that you choose must be team related and not personal choice.
