If IoJ and SoS got paired on a regular basis, your oceanics might have more to do than pvdoor! I’m not trying to be insulting. It’s probably what happens when you get matched up with servers that don’t have any oceanic coverage.

There are skilled roamers in all tiers. I think lower tiers are more fun because you aren’t as likely to get zerged. Either there are more skilled players in lower tiers or they are easier to find. I also had harder time determining the skill of of players in T1 because I would end up zerging them down or get zerged down. I’d start a fight and people would jump in on both sides.

I have no idea what any of you guys said but congrats on exceeding 1000 posts in one week! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a match up thread do that.

Lower tiers would be better to avoid queues and skill lag. If there was a large enough zerg on the bl, it affects gvgs on the windmill.

I agree with Hickeroar that it would be too difficult to get most GvG guilds to agree to transfer. Most guilds are pretty entrenched in their current server and would want WvW like normal as well.

I think most guilds already have no intention at all of going THAT direction for more GvGs. t2/t3 seems to be something of a sweet spot at the moment. Would love to fight some guilds from the lower tiers though.

To totally go Paxa on you guys…what about creating a gvg tier? I would suggest the lower tiers but I have the feeling that any gvg guild transfers would immediately shove the server up a few ranks. I’m opposed to T1 because of queues and trolling though it is the most stable tier.

Tsc… Fine… I do hold a lot of grudge against people that leave the servers to rot. For me, that’s like leaving a team that actually need you. And that’s the major reason of why I spit so much in people that leave servers when they are on downfall. That sentiment got even more strong when the people fled from ET for HoD because they were tired of losing fighting SF, and that’s somenthing I’m likely never going to leave behind.

Everybody felt that way about the people who left for HoD. I think the entire server held a grudge. Pros from that transfer (that I saw)

1. Very funny (to me) that they had to fight SF anyway
2. QQ’d so much that everyone quit WvW
3. Dropped down to T8 the following week
4. ET folks came out in droves to headhunt [mend] and [FKB]

Honestly I had so much fun that week. PvP of any kind is twice as fun against people you know and you can whisper afterward that you killed them.

And I never said my concept of fun was winning… I would never ever leave Blackgate for Eredon if that was my vision. I wanted the challenge of help a server from the bottom to rise. Its a hard thing to acomplish, take time, and really need the cooperation of everyone. If people just leave the sinking boat, the ones that wanted the server to rise will simply have their hopes crushed as they cannot do everything by themselves (even more with those screwed matchups we’re getting now)… And yes, I really thought about leaving ET when KWBH, Agg and FoE left simply because I was stuck alone again.

I really admire you for transferring (and sticking with) ET from the very first day we met. Very few people have your resolute temperament. Most people would rather transfer to a winning server than fight for the underdog. I am sorry that I and many others left you alone.

To all the folks that are leaving DR and are giving excuses to try not look bad: You are leaving the sinking ship. You ARE bad. Because when the server need you most, you just decide to leave because you think “it’s not worth it”…

The thing everyone needs to remember is that this is a game and no one has the right to tell someone else how or where to play.

I am no longer having fun on DR. I am confident that most on DR will tell you I have poured my heart into the server and my desire to leave doesn’t make me a bad person.

Full Disclosure: I transferred off ET when I wasn’t having fun. I came back for the same reason. I find the best way to have fun is to have a good group of friends. Focus on that and leave everything else aside.

5v5s happened all the time on lower tiers before the advent of the leaderboard. I’m sure they are still going on but no one reports them.

Don’t worry about becoming the next bandwagon. Just focus on being competitive on T2 and recruit as much NA as you can. To be honest, I see TC as the next bandwagon server.

lol, I’m sorry but i had to laugh. gvg tactics lol. here’s what they told me at gvg when i asked about any plans, “everyone do whatever you want, don’t die, that is all.”

This game is not marketed as “WvW only”. Try out some of the other stuff. You might enjoy it. I don’t play for content only. I play to play with my friends. Make more friends and they can make any thing enjoyable.

I spent some time on SoS and enjoyed my time there. Their NA is (was?) weak relative to their oceanic. The main problem I had was all the matchups you’ll get with T2 and possibly T1 servers. The gap between T1, T2 and T3 is huge. Good luck with your transfer!

Errawen was trying to talk me back to SoS. SoS was fun for me and I was super sad to leave my SoS friends (I miss you guys!). My ET friends bribed me back with small group roaming and gvgs.

If you’re asking for the guild – we’ve pretty much split off in different directions.

That seems unusual. I experienced quite a bit of skill lag while on JQ.

(I’m so happy that I can turn my graphics back up on ET. Playing the game on ugly settings wasn’t as enjoyable.)

Honestly, exceptional players find exceptional guilds. So if you’re really looking for an awesome guild, you have to put in the work to look for it. My two cents.

Actually, that sentence you quoted was a genuine thanks to the people in the GvG that decided to pack it up and/or move to another BL. I even reiterated it in another post further down (that, granted, could have been lost in the wall-o-text).

I’m quite fond of FC. Even though FC/ET fought like cats and dogs in the SF/ET/FC matchup because there was no point to fighting SF.
