From what I understand about the patch schedule, the ‘real patch’ comes every other patch. You’ll see more exciting changes in 2 weeks.

Guardians OP means they will get a buff in today’s patch.

I had some friends run what they called an “Immortal Squad.” Party of 5 guardians. No one could kill them.

It’s more a “L2P issue” than a “OP Class issue”. But I agree that people that make builds designed to face foes on 1v1 and flee when things get rough deserve to die in shame… If you can’t win a fair fight, at least die with honor! Remember, you can always respawn at your base

This is why I love the outmanned buff. No fear of death. If you’re going to solo roam, you must have the outmanned buff.

You can spvp and pve from any server. Your server only matters for WvW. So if you want different kind of WvW, transfer. Otherwise just guest to another server and save yourself the gems.

If you have patience, you can wait it out. ET went through some really great and really bad periods for WvW. It’s currently on the upswing and doing much better than anyone expected.

I am totally playing on ET the week we get the ET/FC/AR matchup. I’ve been anticipating that for weeks. Crossing my fingers that it happens tonight!

Pandering to lamestream gamers lies at the heart of all that is soulless and wrong with this industry. Skilled players don’t need anything but the ability to pit themselves against other skilled players on even footing to affirm their self held belief that they are actually skilled. If you’re never tested, you never know, and casuals like not knowing because the truth is oftentimes not what they want to see. They’d rather play around sub-optimally, blissfully ignorant of the meta, collecting a vast array of near freely distributed goodie bags, oblivious to notions of complex game mechanics and competitions of skill. Your a casual? Fine. Be a casual. But don’t show up at the veterans table and try to tell us you’re right, were wrong, and demean our overtly higher competency of the game mode.

I play on multiple alts and I like to do different things on each. My solo-roamer characters are all about guard defense and offense. My zerg characters have supply or various siege mastery. I like being able to customize my characters for the different things I like to do.

Most people do not share in your desire of being sub-optimal. The meta allows for a single character to have every trait at the same time, so that’s the player goal. Now would I like it better if it encouraged your usage of it? Hell yes! But the way it’s designed right now it makes no sense a character bound system unless you enjoy not benefiting from X amount of time you’ve put into WvW where X = the amount of time you’ve spent on alts.

I would argue that focusing on one character is “suboptimal.” My thief is 10 times the roamer my warrior is. I’m using the advantages each class offers to be a better roamer/havoc/zerger. If you prefer to focus on your main, that is your choice. I prefer to have a bit of variety.

With the increase in rating I would guess ET could possibly face FA though the chance is incredibly remote. I’d also guess the chance increased since Kaineng has been steadily lowering their rating over the past few weeks. (Not an insult. Just an observation).

“Win” is relative I guess. I’m not even exactly sure how I define “win” these days. For what it’s worth, ET is currently gaining points while Kaineng and HoD are losing.

Win right now is being on JQ… But if it means go on Zerg Wars, I’d rather play Starcraft II.

Out of curiosity: did JQ had guilds/lots of new people transfer to them while they were in “tier 2”?

We have a new guild Zombie Land [WvW]. They are the only organized guild that has came. Judging by our full status suddenly I am guessing several individuals may have transferred here in the past two weeks.

It is possible that former inactive accounts are now active due to new pve content? I was surprised to hear JQ was full. My T8 vacation plans are ruined.

It would be nice to have more balance in WvW with all the servers, the current trend is to continue to stack the top servers. I anecdotally see the WvW population is shrinking as people drop off of GW2. More and more people are migrating upward in the tiers to find a a strong WvW community.

It seems like that happened to AR in one fell swoop.

On a side note, I am super super interested in AR/ET/FC matchup. If that happens, I’m going to play on ET that week.

I invested some points down this line. Seems pretty fun. It’ll be great for lower tiers where I was 1 of 2 people repairing gates. Any commander that throws down siege will want the #5 so you can get the siege built under fire. It’s a pretty cheap skill line to boot.

I want supply mastery purely for the speed buff.

I’ve lost many friends over the past few months. They’ve just gotten bored of the game and stopped playing. This is all anecdotal but it feels like the overall player base is shrinking (maybe not pve but wvw feels like it is). Consequently, more people are moving to stack the top servers because they are searching for groups to play with and against.

OP has bad RNG. The longest I queued this weekend was 20 minutes for EBG. If you can’t stand the queue, feel free to transfer so the regulars can get in quicker.
