NA Tier 1 feels like its moving toward the EU Tier 1 model. That’s not a very good place to be. This is not why I came to T1. Perhaps I should have listened to my friends and stayed on ET. At least that would have saved me 120 gold (with approximately the same results.)

You can kick online party members. Offline party members cannot be kicked. With the large wishlist most people have with WvW, I regard this as a low priority issue. I was plenty pleased to be able to kick people who decided to go pve or go to another bl.

It’s summer time. I’m not really sure what that means since I never leave my bedroom. I think there is something call the “sun” (sp?) that people enjoy for some reason. It has nothing to do with me. I theorize that I must be allergic to “sunshine.” Anyway, someone once told me that people go out to enjoy this “sunshine” and when they do they can’t play games. Isn’t that sad?

I don’t think you can put karma purchased items into the mystic forge either.

I gotta get some chest thumping in now. I would disagree with the “too skilled” comment. I’ll be nice and and say skill is about even across every tier. Some tiers are more organized. However numbers trump skill in WvW (unfortunately).

Added coverage…..you must be joking. T8 didn’t have coverage the last time I was there. If you wanted to play with a 5-10 man group in the middle of the night you could pvdoor entire borderlands with almost no opposition. You’d get more players during NA prime though.

I’m interested to see how they will open up China and if China will get its own servers. If they are added to the current servers will they go to NA or EU?

I do not think they should. Because what you get on free transfers is people with nothing invested. So if they show up, don’t mesh well with the community, then they just hop to another server….Or worse drama builds, and everyone suffers.

Before transfer cost i never saw this ever and the server i had the most fun on was actually vabbi one of the lowest ranked ones. I have been to several servers. The community on every server I’ve been to was great except for vizunah square which i was only on 3 days because i didn’t understand anything.
You don’t have to mesh well with the community to follow a commander and kill enemy players.

Can’t speak to the Euro side of things, but I know on NA, T8 had a few “high-tier” guilds move down to them, and they all lasted on average about a month, maybe 2…This was in large part (from what I have been told) due to the fact that they wanted to run “alone” with only their guild(s), and in the end did not mesh well with the overall community.

There will always of course be exceptions, but just because what you perceive to be the idea of the game is to " follow a commander and kill enemy players", does not mean that these people will think the same.

I disagree with why the high tiers left. It’s not because of how they got along with the community. It’s because T8 was a much different kind of WvW and they didn’t find it as challenging or fun. At least that was my personal experience.

When Anet opened up free transfers to T8 it didn’t work out as well as I had hoped. Honestly guilds came down and took people away later. (Including yours truly.) I don’t feel like T8 retained very many people.

I agree with Savannah that people need to really want to come to lower tiers and invest some gems to make it worthwhile. You need to sell lower tiers as honestly as possible. WvW can feel like a ghost town. I remember a time when Katz and I were the only two people on home BL. You can take 5 people and ninja hills.

1. sPvP is not the same as WvW. The possible stats are not similar.
2. PAXA has already said they’re not interested in sPvP/tPvP
3. Stay away from Tier 1. While the match up is incredibly stable, I have yet to get a 1v1 or 3v3 or 5v5 fight without 15 more people adding in out of nowhere (from both sides).

I don’t have suggestions which servers to go to for exactly what you want. Does it go against the grain to get more players for larger group play? You can still do 5v5 if you want but having more players means you could do a 10v10 gvg.

On a more serious note, a way to make WvW seem tremendously more “living”, and I don’t see why this hasn’t made it into release, is to simply give the lords multiple skins and possibly skillsets, maybe even make them named NPCs.

Love this idea. I could totally get into anthropomorphizing Keep Lords into my favorite characters.

I already have too many quartz crystals from my lootbags. I don’t need to mine anything to get my daily Charged Quartz Crystal.

I don’t think it is worth the dev’s time to add quartz formations to WvW.

I suggest leaving an alt character in Labyrinthine Cliffs to mine quartz.

I feel like I should never buy WvW abilities as there is always a new one I want later.

I think the achievement point system encourages people to try out all the different activities this game offers. Since the announcement, I’ve taken a few days off from WvW to do some of the other things in game to get more achievement points. I can’t wait for the magic find boosts without losing any of my other stats.

From other posts, I know they are looking into revamping the WvW achievements to make them more realistically obtainable. The WvW dev team is already on it.

You might receive a better response if you listed what server you’re on. That way guilds from your server can target you. You can join guilds on other servers for PvE and WvW on your own.

I think you guys would have fun on SoS. I really liked the community when I was on SoS.

This. Fear spike works great as the thief can’t use their skills against you. In my zerg support builds, I just try to run into more people in hopes they can save me with sheer numbers.

OP, I’m not sure if you’re aware but it costs gems to move servers. Very High = 1800 gems ~ 55 gold. High = 1000 gems, Medium = 500 gems. It sounds like a newer player and probably don’t have much gold at the time. You may need to pay cash to transfer servers.

Try ET WvW for a while. Join a WvW guild and run with them for a while to learn.

4 weeks ago you got SoR/TC/SoS. If you look at Snowreaps’ numbers, the top 3 servers will fight each other 50% of the time.

I agree that medium armor classes got the shaft in terms of team or zerg play. I’m better off using them as solo classes or in spvp. Please give me usable blast finishers for my engi and ranger. I would love to use one of them in teamplay WvW.

I don’t really keep track. I know I’ve gotten at least 1 exotic, 2-4 rares, 1-2 superior siege for the fancier things. (Slightly relevant, I play on 3 characters and the highest is rank 30. I probably haven’t opened that many chests.) WvW is fun though. The chests are extra prizes to me.

Yes. I’ve been spamming refresh to look at the matchups and its not working.

Talked to one of their commanders and Leet went to JQ.

ET/FC/HoD are the part of the T8 small man group. Fight night is Thursday nights. Usually it’s in green BL behind the windmill. There’s usually a good showing. You’ll get a good taste of pvp there.

xD. I do include CoF in the talented fighters category from EgoBay.

From what I can tell your small groups of 8-10 have good builds and are pretty coordinated.

There was a member of DB that posted a picture of patch day scores with DB dominating. He made reference to eBay having the lowest to try and rub it in our faces. That is what set me off and part of what set PenguiNet off.

A lot of negativity could have been avoided if he had not posted that picture.

PS: When I’m in WvW I almost exclusively solo roam, or roam with groups of 5 or less, and I almost always go to DB BL. I run from very few fights, if you show up in front of me with even numbers or just close to it, you’ll get the fight you’re looking for.

I don’t know how many people are in Duel but I’ve definitely seen you roaming around looking for 1v1s.

BTW, anybody up for Thursday night fight club? DB BL windmill? I want to try out my new necro build(s).

Shorty, you should read the T3 thread for some amusing chest thumping from EBay. I’m going to add that their forum warriors have some unsportsman-like words for their opposing servers. I somewhat wish to withdraw my recommendation.

Hey Shorty. Long time no talk.

A lot ET people transferred to SoS (as you know.) Talk to Duke, Terra or Tarkus if you want some feedback on SoS. I enjoy my time here.If you can play during oceanic hours its a lot of fun too. I’m not sure if you know many people in KWBH but they are in CD. They were rather subdued against SoS/TC so it is hard to evaluate what they like.

I can recommend ebay. They have talented fighters and they have a great WvW participation.

Keep me updated on where you go (if you don’t mind). I still have a keen interest on what is happening to ET folks.

Zerging gets me more loot per minute than the way I have been playing recently. However it is much more fun for me to run havoc squads and fight against other havoc squads.

I’ve earned roughly 3000-4000 badges most of that time was in T8 where groups are small by necessity.

Get a group of friends, cap camps and sentries. If you see red (and it isn’t a tidal wave of red), kill ’em.

I wonder if one could “fractal” the EB map and divide it into 4 sections and each section has 5 possible maps. RNG each section and you’ll have 2880 possible combinations. Design would somewhat bland at the connections. It’d be interesting to see the possible strategies involved.

I thought about the Stonemist title and considered that it is actually much easier to get the title in lower tiers with coverage gaps. You want to be in the weaker server and wait for the coverage gap to get Stonemist. You can easily do it with a few golems.

However PvDoor is boring.

I was in T8 for many months and some weeks Stonemist would flip multiple times a day.

I had a lot of fun earlier tonight with the epic DB/EB/SoS 3 way open field fights in SoS BL around Bay. I saw Rekz, Omen, Fire and a lot of other guilds. Awesome WvW tonight.

TBH, I would start running if I saw BS. :P

In conclusion, all the servers in this matchup should marry and make T1 worthy babies.

I don’t know about stabilized. The devs manually intervened to get SF out of T8. ET and FC were paired for months with a T6 level server.

Anz is hard to defend and feels so frickin far from spawn. I like Mendons for the interesting layout. I find the last stands at Mendons usually turn out pretty epic.

I prefer red portion in EB. However, people need their map completion so it’d be nice to be blue/green every so often.

They’re nice friendly people. PvX guild. They have all the guild missions including guild JP. If you don’t know what those are, they can explain it to you. They’re very coordinated in doing those. Apply at the enjin website. Hope that helps!

Should post some videos of the 5-7 man KOM and PAXA groups steamrolling the solo and duo players out roaming. I know there is plenty of footage of that to show off.

I know it hurts to be killed in less than 5 seconds. I’ve experienced it many times myself.

It’s part of the game to die in WvW. I have personally been in bigger groups of 5-40 and chased down one person and kill them. It’s not particularly fun for me but hey I needed my daily.

The point of open world sandbox games is to have fun in different ways. I challenge more people to find a way to counter KoM, Paxa, Yarr, SS, BS, etc and fight back.
