Score update for those who asked.

I’ve been wondering if merging would ever happen but it seems more likely among EU servers than NA servers based purely on population.

Shout out to HoD for rallying their forces last night. I saw quite a few HoD in WvW last night. I didn’t venture over to FC BL but I saw HoD had flipped quite a bit over there.

Like Jeknar said, if you’re green, you’re the target. It’s as simple as that. Next week will be fun to fight Fergs.

I really love how we have had movement in this tier for the past month. The three of us are going to be together forever but it’s nice to move up and down. I will miss being last place. There’s no way to go down so you can do dorky stuff as much as you want guilt-free.

+1 for this entire thread. I can’t wait to QQ about HoD zergs over TS.

It’s not a conspiracy, after last night it was clear FC and ET were not attacking one another.

Not true, I was on last night (GMT +2) and we made a serious push on ET keep twice and lost.
In between all the madness we just did our best to ensure that HoD don’t get their foot in the door. I was not online when HoD keep was conquered but I know that ET fought tooth and nail to hang on to theirs and as a result could hang on to the surrounding towers much easier.
While most of our attention was holding on to property in EB, ET paid a visit to our BL while HoD BL remained rather unscathed by both ET and FC. So nononono, no conspiracy – just perception at the wrong times of observation. In fact, we we’re just talking last night about the ET/FC alliance that lasted about 30 seconds when SF was keeping all the maps a single uniform green colour.

We attacked FC and HoD last night in EB BL. We got pushed back at Langor but took over Durios, Bravost and Quentin. Then went on to attack HoD while FC was defending green keep.

It isn’t a conspiracy. In terms of ratings, there is very little point to attacking FC. HoD has the higher rating. If HoD’s score is kept down while raising out own, there is a chance for ET to raise ourselves to 2nd place in this match up. FC’s rating will not be worth attacking until next week.

If want to blame anything, blame Glicko for pushing the fights this way.

Why do I sense hostility particularly from ET towards us? So many toasts to only FC and ET even when FC is whooping you guys in EB.

Because HoD is the kid wearing the green shirt… Thus the one that worth more points… Also, many people bailed ET for HoD… There is a lot of personal stuff involved because of that.

Gotta say I appreciate it jeknar. I’ve been bothered by this sudden burst of aggression a bit, wondering whether we had offended you guys at some point. I know there was one but both myself and a guildie came on to apologise. You’re the first person from ET who’ve frankly explained the situation. So now we know. Pity there’s nothing we can do about it too. I’ve had no quarrel with ET since day 1, since both our servers were taking that long fall from t1.

I feel terrible that you ended up feeling that way. It is entirely a rivalry between people who transferred during the free transfer peiod. I enjoy fighting against people I know on HoD. It is an added incentive to play WvW. I like many people on your server and I have made friends among HoD.

FC is probably going to be green next week and then everybody will pick on them. It’ll turn around for you HoD! Just get your people out to WvW next week. The participation rate is noticeably down.

How about a score update? I’ve got ages to go before I can go home.

Have you heard of Thursday night duels behind the windmill? Most servers seem to have instigated dueling in WvW. I’ve gone to a few to watch. I do get steamrolled quite a bit when I try to duel I cheer for my compatriots.

I want the orb back because I am bored. I want to parade with the orb in Griffon form.

Whoa, if this keeps up, FC will be green next reset. I’m going to be so confused!!! Great work FC.

Coming soon next week – the next unholy alliance. ET/HoD double team on FC. (j/k j/k. I am terribly amused by every conspiracy theory out there including those from my own server.)

I agree with Moobs. I enjoy the small group aspect but I also like getting objectives. All of it is fun for me. Jscull, I know you love the pvp aspect the most and I sense that you think that is the best way to play. Other people play the game differently and it is just as enjoyable for them as pvp is for you. Let’s all get along and have fun!

There are several guilds that moved down to T8 for small group roaming. The main goal is to kill other people. Objectives are not important to them at all. It’s much more about the open field battles.

WvW has been fun this week. I’ve met a lot of great people. Thanks FC & HoD. I hope the fun continues.

There will always be someone that QQs about something. That person doesn’t represent ET. Most of us have are having a lot of fun without any QQ.

Zergs exist on any tier though the definition of zergs may differ. I will honestly say there is a zerg if there is 15+ people in a group (NA T8). I understand on other tiers, that would be considered a small group.

I agree with the sentiment others have expressed that WvW isn’t really won by dedication or skill. Coverage is more important. Your small team during non-primetime hours can make a big difference to the score on lower tiers that do not have coverage at those hours. Your small team on the same tier during primetime on reset night is probably best used for flipping camps to deny supply. That is useful for any server as it denies the enemy supply.

In my opinion, you actually accomplished a lot on behalf of your server. You took a tower and surrounding camps and held the tower for 5-6 point tallies. It does suck that you were overwhelmed by an enemy zerg. Don’t let the end result destroy what you did accomplish. If you had fun during your time, that’s all that is matter. Getting frustrated over something inevitable isn’t worth it. Every tower/keep/garrison/camp will get flipped some time by somebody else.

T8 is where the roaming small group action is at. Like caesar said, check out the Small man havoc thread.

Some of the roaming groups run group specs but others run “bring what you want” and let player skill determine the winner. Honestly, T8 will be a better fit because there is almost no chance of that any of the servers will move a tier and you’ll be guaranteed roaming groups interested in open field battles on the opposing servers. Personally, the way I’d like it to work is that “Guild Commander” was an upgrade from the Art of War VI, that you could buy with merits, and then set ranks that are allowed to use it. So anyone from that rank would be able to use the tag, without having to pay with gold, or having problems with using alts etc.

I prefer your idea but I threw out the 200 gold in hopes that $$$ would be an attractive idea to Anet. I’m pretty sure guild commander tags would be worth a bit to people who only want to lead their guild.

SF is home to me now, (win or lose), I just wish I had my friends still left on ET over here, as I know they would love it here too. The thing no one ever understood about SF is that it is really a PVE server, I say that because of our WvW history people automatically assume we are WvW-oriented. But once you realize the PVE-aspect, you start to see that we truly have a ton of people over here. Our WvW population is really only a smaller portion (1/3 at most) of our total people.

Are you trying to tempt WvWers to transfer over for PvE? The mind boggles.

I agree with you. WvW has become much more fun after I stopped caring about PPT and overall score. Open field is quite exciting as well as roaming in general.

You clearly have very little experience with 60vs60, and no experience with tower defense. You don’t even browse the necro forums much. If you do, you would not ever mention Epidemic for WvW.

You probably do a lot of 5v5 to 20v20 open field battles, and your opinions are based from that. It just goes to show how different the two game play type is.

As a T8 player, it sounds terrible that you can’t use skills due to skill and game lag. The few times that I’ve experienced skill lag has been a frustrating experience. Do you experience skill lag every night?

This is not really a commentary on you or your build. The game SHOULD let you use all your skills regardless whether it is 100v100v100 or 1v1

It does sound like there are different play styles between players and tiers. Just go out there and have fun.

I’d say most lower tiers could use more coverage overall. If you want to play with people, I would suggest GoM. They have a very healthy night crew though I doubt they need any assistance. It depends on what side you find more fun.

All of Tier 8 lacks night coverage. I estimate it’s about the same regardless of the server on tier 8.

In my opinion, the best solution is half go to ET and half go to FC and your small man groups can fight each other constantly. You’re almost guaranteed to remain in T8. I do have some bias but ET and FC are like blood brothers after so many months together in T8.. Like Moobs said, either server would work for your purposes.

HoD is unknown quantity at this time. If expected GoM to stay, I’d tell you they have lots of small organized groups to fight all the time.

I was really rooting for FC to win this week. You guys really came out strong this weekend and I think the “balanced” match up would really be balanced if FC could pull off a victory this week.

A friend of mine was complaining that FC was taking steroids.

I’d like to remind everyone that WvW is fun regardless of the PPT and overall score. I temporarily lost my mind and forgot that but my friends are ever so kind and showed me the error of my ways. This looks like a good compromise to me to help EU players. At least they’ll get some playtime in at reset.

If queues are really a problem to get your guild to together to play, I suggest transferring. One of the reasons why I am on a T8 server is because we have rarely have queues.

It’s all subjective. I prefer playing regardless of the score.

My curiosity overcame my good sense. I peeked at the T7 thread. I was a little concerned about the drama starting to appear in our little thread but after perusing T7, I see I have nothing to worry about (in comparison).

Congratulations to GoM on a strong comeback this week. I’m still enjoying the WvW battles this week and it is a pleasure to converse with everyone on this thread.

To echo Cedrick, this has been one of the most fun reset nights I’ve had in months. FSAE spent 8 hours in EB in glorious back and forth battles with both FC and GoM. Thanks for all the fun times!

I especially enjoy how Stonemist flipped to all the servers throughout the night and we were constantly on the defense. We used huge amounts of siege, died an almost equally large number of times and fought and killed countless invaders and had a blast doing it. I look forward to more of the same for the rest of the week!
