I’d like too that mark of evasion would be combat only, because when you skip in dungeons you can’t evade and if you evade you get caught inevitably in combat. Other professions don’t have this issue.
I think thieves have that too
11/10 would read again
Must be a bug, then. I was definitely attacking faster with it yesterday. Plus, it’s really obvious when you use your #3 skill, so there’s no way you’re not noticing it.
I tried it yesterday and it was definitely working fine.
By the way, if what you’re comparing is the clone spawn rate, they tweaked it so it stays the same, even though you’re attacking faster.
I could make no sense from your arguments.
I tried a Spite/Curse/BM build (Basically went to BM mostly for the lesser signet) with Barbaric Amulet and axe/wh – Staff and it wasn’t too bad. SR probably better though.
We seem to be getting a lot of might now, so I tried runes of hoelbrak.
I think the best way to deal with CC, if they insist on making it a corruption, is having it apply cripple or chill when it starts channeling. That way, you gain a disadvantage when using it, but the skill itself is still a properly functioning condi cleanse.
Yeah, I’m looking forward to not having a decent heal or elite skill
I guess that explains the Necro nerfs, underwater combat was too stronk.

ANet never guaranteed to you at any point from whenever you bought the game to now that you’d be able to have characters for all classes at once.
Why would you make that assumption, then?2 of GW1’s 3 complete games(Factions and Nightfall)both had 2 new professions and ArenaNet set a precedent with those games of giving you two character slots so that you could play those professions if you wanted to. Just an FYI. They have set this precedent before. It’s not a blind assumption. Their one and only x-pac for GW1 did NOT have any new professions and rightfully did not come with any slots. HoT has a new profession and doesn’t come with a slot. This actually goes against how they have handled it in the past.
Just because they did something in the past doesn’t guarantee they’ll keep doing it, unless they’ve said so. If they ever said “We’ll offer a character slot every time we introduce a new profession, in all our future games”, then you’re right to be kittened.
Also, I don’t accept facts from a different game as arguments. You specifically asked, “Why would you make that assumption, then?”
I gave you reasons why that assumption would be made. If ArenaNet has done that before on 2 occasions it would stand to reason they would do it again. It wasn’t just a blind assumption on their part. It was an educated guess that they would do something that they have done in the past a 3rd time.
Sorry, I guess I didn’t express myself well.
By “assumption”, I meant taking it for granted and therefore complaining when it doesn’t happen.

ANet never guaranteed to you at any point from whenever you bought the game to now that you’d be able to have characters for all classes at once.
Why would you make that assumption, then? They’ve also never stated they are going to give content in the expansion equal to its price tag of the game as compared to the base game. But that logically falls well within the area of reasonable expectation for any consumer looking to purchase the game, hence the E-War raging across the internet about the price tag.
There are certain things that don’t have to be advertised with any product, things like functioning as intended, undamaged, and containing all necessary parts and accessories for use. Having a character slot, for the new character class the expansion is going to give you, is not an unreasonable assumption, and falls in the same area.
So, if I were to assume upon purchasing the core game that I’d have all character slots necessary for all the professions, I would be right complaining to the forums about that not happening?
Or maybe that’s not enough. Maybe I would have assumed that I’d have 40 character slots, because it’s normal to me that I’d have 8 professions of each race. Or maybe even 80 slots, because I also want both genders for each combination.I say ‘reasonable expectations’, you immediately start making statements you yourself know to be not only unreasonable but completely outlandish, and yet you expect that to be an argument in your favor? Leave your outlandish emotionally charged drama to your afternoon soaps where it belongs.
We both have the same definition of reasonable expectations, you just showed that yourself by specifically outlining what you believe is not reasonable, I’m just being logical about it and you, well, aren’t.
I’m only showing you that “reasonable expectations” is subjective.
If you say that the product should be “containing all necessary parts and accessories for use” and translating that to mean “WELP, THAT MEANS I GET ALL THE CHARACTER SLOTS I NEED FOR FREE.”, why not expect it for the core game? Why not interpret the “all character slots I need” part as “One for each profession, gender and race”?
Is it getting more and more outlandish and ridiculous? But where did it start?Like I said above, its not expected from the core game because the core game came with so much content.
You don’t know how much content the expansion has. I also don’t see how the amount of content has anything to do with Conncept’s argument.

Well, thinking about it the point about gliding seems to fit the best.
Axelwarrior: You’re right about the chain you are complaining about and I already said there is some need to buff the mobility of the necromancer. I just don’t want it to be a skill which let you survive every falling damage. ^^I really hope for necromancers to get some effort for this in the future.
Then don’t justify this happening until that necessary buff actually comes.
Which is never. Never justify this happening.

The core game came with more than enough content for the $60 price tag, depending which copy you bought, for me to not complain about not being able to play 3 out of the 8 classes without buying character slots.
Even if the quantity of content were to justify you complaining about the price, you should at least wait until everything has been announced first.
It’s kind of insulting to be shown kitten price tag on something that for all we know is incomplete. We still havent heard nearly enough to justify the $50 price tag. Dont get me wrong though, if the expansion comes with a lot more content than what we currently see then I most likely will buy it.
$50 price tag. Idk why it replaced that with kitten. O.o
Preorders are always being offered for incomplete games, that’s the point. If you wanna complain, complain about preorders, not the price of the expansion. You’ll be well justified, because preorders are bad in general.
That’s an interesting point, you could be right with that.
But I still think it’s a problem about disengaging too.Thiefs were able to shadow step up but wasn’t there an update to fix something like this and aiming at teleports too?
Axelwarrior, sry, but I don’t get your point. Stealth is some guaranteed disengage, that’s right, but it seems arenanet is working on this. Just look at the new engineer trait “lock on”. And you listed many professions which can disengage by high mobility but there is a problem with this argument: you listed MANY professions with HIGH MOBILITY. So if one of them want to disengage with it, there are others having this mobility just to catch up. That’s just not possible if you jump off a cliff.
No, I listed a ranking of escapes.
Meaning, Thieves can get away from anyone, Warriors can ALSO get away from anyone (I doubt thieves can catch up to them), Elementalists can get away from anyone besides Warriors, Engineers can get away from anyone besides Elementalists and Warriors. etc.
Necromancers can’t get away from anyone, unless there’s a cliff nearby and they can live long enough to get there. Now, which is worse for balance…?

You guys are kidding yourselves if you think it was a pvp or wvw balance decision.
They did it to simplify gating stuff behind glider mastery.
In the end, what matters is they’re removing something unique to the class on top of all the other crap they’re giving it.
Honestly, I wouldn’t even be bothered that much if I was happy with the rest of the changes. It’s like a slap to the face after their kick to the stomach.

ANet never guaranteed to you at any point from whenever you bought the game to now that you’d be able to have characters for all classes at once.
Why would you make that assumption, then?
In my opinion it’s an unfair advantage because there is literally no other class in the game than necromancer who can follow you in this scenario. I agree necromancers got some mobility problems, so it would be great if you get some buffs in this. But it isn’t the answer to make it impossible to close the gap to you if you want to flee.
There are others classes with high mobility which are hard to follow that’s absolutely right but it isn’t IMPOSSIBLE to follow with other classes.
It absolutely is.
Thieves can go up big ledges by shadowstepping. And need I also mention stealth, which can literally get you out of ANY situation? Even without stealth, they’re insanely fast when played right.
Warriors. Pretty much can’t be CC’d when using that godkitten trait. Got abundant swiftness, dashes and leaps.
Engineers got infinite swiftness, as well as superspeed and rocket boots.
Elementalists. Swiftness, Superspeed, FGS. That’s enough.
Those are the major culprits and the rest of the classes ALSO have more escapes than Necromancer. We’re at the bottom of the food chain, but we have that ONE escape skill that can be used effectively in, like, 3 specific spots of the Eternal Backgrounds and ANet can’t possibly stand for that, right?
There is some simple reason why the devs did this. Spectral walk was giving necro players an unfair advantage when it comes to WvW. This skill was able to give you a perfect way to disengage every fight. If you are the only ones who can jump off a cliff surviving it there is no way to follow you to get the kill.
So just because it’s something nobody else can do, it’s an unfair advantage?
Not only is it highly situational, other classes can disengage a lot more easily and safely. Necromancer is the only class who has NOTHING.
Maybe if they care about WvW balance, they should actually do some WvW balancing.
Clarification: the only thing that was changed was that you can’t use “Spectral Walk” in air. You can still use “Spectral Recall” which is the skill that returns you to your original location. This means you can still use Spectral Walk, jump off a cliff and teleport back.
What you can’t do is jump off a cliff, double tap Spectral Walk (and then Spectral Recall) just before hitting the ground to nullify falling damage.
But the red post in the linked topic clearly said that the feature now being removed was intentional.
Frankly, with all the awful and unnecessary nerfs to Necromancer, this is the one that disappoints me the most.
It was the one unique ability our profession has that nobody else could do. Survive any fall.
And I don’t like crafting, why do I have to craft to get ascended gear?
And I don’t like PvPing, why do I have to do it to get Glorious Armor?
And I don’t like grinding for gold, why do I have to do it to get a Legendary?
And I also don’t like talking to NPCs, why do I have to talk to NPCs to play the story?
And I also don’t like fighting, why do I have to fight to do pretty much anything?
And I don’t like making a character, why do I have to mke a character to play the game?
Guys, you’re missing the point. From what I’m reading, OP is talking specifically about dedicated healers as a support role.
Unfortunately, the GW2 is designed, it can never happen in PvE. If we get some changes to healing power and maybe regeneration, then it might eventually become viable in PvP.
If you want to play it despite its weakness, I guess you could check out WP’s healing Elementalist build.
By that logic, I want a refund on the 2nd copy of the core game I didn’t want or ask for.
You didn’t get a second copy, the bonus is only for new players. And even if you did, it’d have cost you 0$, for which you’d get a 0$ refund.
Where are people getting the idea from? Why did everyone think that they’d get a free character slot with the base expansion?

I don’t care if it’s cheap or expensive, the point is that I don’t want to pay for something I already own.
Which is?
Which is the core game.
You’re not paying for the core game, it’s included for free. As a bonus for those who don’t have it.

The expansion being expensive is a whole different topic to it including the core game.
If you want to pay less, then I guess wait a year or so until the price drops.Get the kitten out kittening fanboy scum. ArenaNet are lying and overpricing their game, don’t you see it.
Then don’t buy it.

Seriously, I never thought stealth is perfectly fine where it was, but how on earth can ANet think that it’s okay to allow one class to completely shutdown another just by investing 1 trait and 1 utility skill?
I wonder what they can possibly do to Thief and Mesmer to balance that…
That was quick, man
First World Problems, Tyria edition.
Sorry, had to say it :P
I hope ANet grants your request
If you’re going to use materials you already own, then you’d have to subtract their sale value from your profit as well.
Heroic fantasy usually makes me laugh. In Skyrim, though I never had a magic spell or used magic, I was still able to become leader of the magicians guild. lol
How? you have to use magic to get in to the mages college, dont you? and a few of the quests i swear require magic xD
You have to use a shout, but not a spell. I didn’t put points into any magic.
Wait, what? To get inside, you’ll need to either use Firebolt, Conjure Flame Atronach, Magelight or something similar. It’s not hard, since Faralda can sell the spells to you at the entrance, but you definitely had to use magic to get in. You also had to use a ward shortly after getting in.
If you go to the college after the quest Dragon Rising, you can tell her that you are dragonborn and then she will let you in if you demonstrate your Thu’um. With tzhe correct perk unlocked you can also persuade her to let you in. The ward spell has to be used, but it is given to you for free.
Ah, cool. I didn’t know that, because I either go to the College right away, or not at all :P
In the end, he still needs to use magic at the ward lesson, though.

ANet doesn’t want to enable too much UI customization for some lame reason I can’t remember
All this talk of awesome rigs and I’m sitting here, with my lame laptop.

Can’t she use her utility goggles?
Do you know how hard it is to get those in prescription lens?!

Honestly, nobody is going to buy those. CM, possibly, but nowadays with stacking it’s not nearly as hard as it was. AC definitely not. Anybody needing to buy AC needs to /uninstall, it’s quick and not hard at all even with a newbie group.
I’m not sure you understand how (and why) this works
Yeah, the description should definitely mention that it isn’t salavageable.
But, to make sure, can’t you just put it in your inventory and double click a salvage kit? If an item is not salvageable, it will be dyed red in your inventory.
I realize it’s too late now though, I hope you find a solution.
I wouldn’t necessarily say that having a really rare material is a bad thing.
Of course, I would probably have a different opinion if I wanted Immobulus.
CM is pretty easy and quick with a Thief. Not sure what you mean by “better” to sell, though.
Why do people still keep saying we don’t have stability? Reaper is the only class so far that gets stability from the profession mechanic, with no reliance to traits or utility skills.
How it is now actually gives you a reason to not run reaper. If you want ranged DS you dont go reaper. If you add RS to F2 then everyone will use Reaper traitline. It would be way too much of an upgrade.
Personally, I don’t think we should ever have a reason not to choose an elite specialization. It should be a direct buff to the profession, while also pushing it towards a new role (So only buffing specific parts of the class).
That way, we won’t really have any variety at the start, but things will get more interesting when more specializations get added.
In the Necromancer’s case, each specialization would add a different shroud in your F2 skill. It’s really not all that different to Chronomancer.
Guild Wars 2 is a lot more “casual” than League of Legends, lol.
If they don’t like the game, there’s not much you can do about it. If you think they have the wrong impression, just show them what you like about the game and what it’s like to play it.
