Good, content for pro player only…
“Pro players” as you call them have been waiting for appropriate content for 3 years.
I think they’re overpriced and too limited for a simple convenience. I would definitely buy them if they were something like 1000 gems for 5 slots, with a maximum of 10.
Keep calm and #spam_vault
I agree, right now it’s at a pretty bad place, even for condi builds. They should buff it.
It would fit the whole, “You’re screwed now, buddy” feel of yelling “Nothing can save you!” at someone.
I wish the shout was called “You’re screwed now, buddy”
The boons on hit, you actually can do something about, it’s actually a perfect example.
If you bring a mesmer and that mesmer runs null field (for groups) or phantasmal disenchanters (for single target), you can substantially counteract the instability.
Have you actually tested this out?
Theoratically, I’d imagine that the sheer amount of boons gained by enemies cannot possibly be contained by a single boon-ripping Mesmer.
I don’t know if there’s an internal cooldown to the buff gain, so I can’t be certain, just talking from the experience of one run.
Surely you have better stuff to do than making this thread
Hey, anyone knows if there’s anywhere I can find sheet music for HoT tracks? Specifically, I’m looking for the track that plays during the Auric Basin meta event! Don’t know the title xd
Necromancers who lose to burn guards are bad necromancers.
Corrosive Poison Cloud: Fixed an issue that allowed this ability to block unblockable attacks
I guess it had to, at some point. Though I was glad we were finally legitimately useful for something in PvE… I wish I had a bit more time being overpowered. :<
Ever heard of character progression?
That’s what Masteries and Elite Specs are. Nobody ever claimed otherwise.
The irony, minion PvE buffs are actually making minions worse in PvE.
There are other similar skills which are also more influential to the fight, so I don’t see Marks being too much of a problem.
And I haven’t read about the new camera yet, but it generally sounds problematic balance-wise.
It doesn’t look like there’s a dedicated thread to this, so I decided to make one.
The change to CPC was great – we got the active defence we’ve always needed. However, having to weaken ourselves to cast it is a huge problem, especially in PvE.
Since it doesn’t look like you’re planning to change corruptions any time soon, at least change the self-afflicted condition.
I think poison would be a good replacement. If you guys have other suggestions, make sure to post them.
IMO, our best strength for raids right now is epidemic.
I miss her too, guys. I really liked her :<
Making me kill her was so cruel, ANet…
Aww, I’m so looking forward to Halloween!
LOL JUST KIDDING HOT IS OUT SOON
I know this may not be constructive, but when has Charr ever not looked weird in anything?
Imo, their animations never looked weird. Just the overstretched human clothes.
Anyone else think it looks weird? Specifically the arms.
This is old knowledge that weve known about since the DnT condi meta : https://youtu.be/KEBsMa6iV1A
This is now my favorite GW2 video on Youtube
And I’ve seen that gw2 Smash kitten
Nemesis: “Necromancer is not lacking in damage”
Engineer does it 2 minutes faster. That literally means that in this case the Engineer is doing roughly 50% more average DPS than the Necromancer in an identical scenario. If that isn’t telling about the current state of the Necromancer I don’t know what is.
Though he also correctly stated that a solo scenario such as this isn’t ideal for showcasing a class’s group potential.
On the other hand, I have no idea why he seems to think that this video stands in his favour in any way.
You should let her play the class she’s interested in the most, so she doesn’t get bored of it.
Do you mean the very old bug which is typically fixed by dancing?
Alright, I’ll try to explain everything you need to know, so here goes.
Unlike other games, GW2’s defence is mainly consisted of damage mitigation. That means blinds, reflects, CC, blocking, evading, invulnerability, etc. What you’re probably used to in other games is specifically picking out your stats to survive an encounter, as well as bringing a healer and a tank to the party to help everyone else survive. In GW2, even though there are defensive stats (Vitality and Toughness), they’re not as important as actively mitigating damage.
GW2 has an action-based combat, so it’s clear that you’ll need to adapt to it if you wanna play properly. Dodging is essential and moving around constantly is usually important. To be honest, I don’t know why you would even start playing GW2 if you didn’t like its combat…
About Thieves. They have PLENTY of stealth. It seems like your thief is still low level, so you haven’t acquired many skills or know how to use them. Here’s a list of a Thief’s means of stealthing.
-Cloak and Dagger (Dagger 5)
-Black Power + Heartseeker (Pistol 5 then Dagger 2 through the field)
-Black Power + Cluster Bomb (Pistol 5 then Shortbow 2 on it)
-Blinding Power (Utility)
-Shadow Refuge (Utility)
-Steal when traited with Hidden Thief
-Merciful Ambush (trait)
-Smoke Screen + Heartseeker (Utility then Dagger 2 through it)
-Smoke Screen + Cluster Bomb (Utility then Shortbow 2 on it)
-Hide in Shadows (Heal skill)
Now, about rotations. They’re not really meant to be complex. The game’s “difficulty” lies in active combat, movement and dodging. Now, of course, optimizing your DPS with perfect rotations is also a thing, but more advanced and only really relevant in dungeon speed clearing. If you like complex rotations, the most complex ones for dungeons are probably Sinister Engineer and D/F Elementalist. Look them up on Youtube.
There’s nothing we can do if you don’t like your character’s voice. You can probably mute it in the options.
Also, another thing you might be misintepreting about the game, is that levelling is a small part of it. The real things starts when you’re level 80.
Casual scrubs like me are mostly happy about the dragon tooth change
That was also my main concern when I heard about the healing role. I doubt they gave it any thought, tbh.
That’s not a bug.
No transfer can turn someone else’s condition into your own.
Well, don’t you think it should?
To me, it makes sense that transfers should work that way.
Looks like condition transfers have some serious issues that need fixing…
Also make an option for my human to run on 4, please.
Thematically, I think it suits Soul Reaping best, as it encourages camping in Shroud.
I don’t think there’s an option in-game, but you can always take a screenshot and send a ticket to support?
I’m assuming you’re talking about PvP.
1v2
Any class can 1v2, imo. It mostly depends on the players. Though I guess a class that is more prone to winning outnumbered (in WvW, at least) is Thief.
hard hitting like a truck
All classes can get pretty high numbers, but the most common hard-hitting skills in the game are off the top of my head Backstab (Thief), Killshot (Warrior), Eviscerate (Warrior), Fire Grab (Elementalist), Grenade Barrage (Engineer).
big time burst and/or cleave
Not sure how “big time burst” differs from “hard hitting like a truck”.
Cleave depends on weapons, everyone has at least one cleaving weapon.
To be honest, I’d rather have people wear skimpy stuff than removing their tops completely. It’s tasteless.
My favorite part was the Ele’s jumping skills
Umm… What is meta for Guardian? Why choose meta for Guardian if you don’t enjoy it? Do you play ESL or other competative stuff that needs total perfection or do you just play the game to have fun?
Becouse most content is possible in GW2 with ok builds.
I use my Greatsword, Mace/Shield symbol meditation guardian still and I played DH during 1st BWE and it was not my cup of tea at all. So even if it where to get meta I would not play it anyway becouse I didn’t like the playstyle. I can though think of very good build for PvP with DH line but I havent tried them so I dunno.
I have enjoyed this game for 3 years, never gotten kicked from a PUG and I have mostly always been respected for how I play and my knowledge. I have done most content except for fractals level 50 but that is becouse I am always helping my guild doing lower level Fractals and I am not complaining, though I still don’t think that you need to play meta to compleate it.
Say NO! to meta and yes to your own creativity!
Everything is viable in this game. The point of the meta is optimal clearing times.
Therefore, OP, you don’t have to play the meta either way. But, yes, if DH becomes meta, most people will want you to run it in their dungeon groups.
Having said that, I’m sure there will still be a meta for people who don’t have HoT, so it won’t be that big of a deal if you use that instead.
Charr Thief and Asura Guardian
That quote from Chris basically says “Exploiting bad dungeon design is perfectly okay, but exploiting bad dungeon design is not allowed. Eh, I’m sure you guys know what I mean, so I won’t dedicate any more of my time explaining specifically. Just remember, we can ban you if you do the thing we just told you it’s okay and not okay to do, without warning~”
I’m not sure what you’re expecting. If you think you have “no luck”, then nobody can really fix that. It’s not a problem with the game. Best you can do is rely on your own abilities to make gold.
If they change corruption skills to use life force instead of applying condis to us, not only will we not be able to use our class mechanic at the start of a pvp match, but we will also be unable to use our utility skills.
While i can see that a change would be appreciated, i do not like this siggestion at all.I quite like corruption skills at present. Gives me a good way to stack condi pressure with 1 skill and a transfer.
They could just make them consume HP when your life force pool is empty.
Personally, I like the idea of corruptions, I just don’t think ANet managed it well. If they change them to not self-apply conditions, they’ll just be a boring type of utilities.
What they need to do is balance the disadvantages and advantages they give you.
Also, like you said, Necromancers are masters of corruption because they a plethora of ways to manage conditions. It doesn’t necessarily mean they don’t self-apply them in the first place. If you are a true master of corruption, use a corruption skill and then transfer it to your enemy.
The current problem with corruptions and their associated trait is that their effects are just not worth wasting 2 cooldowns (the corruption skill and the condi transfer/cleanse).
The issue I see is that a lot of those other amulets are what Ranger really shines with. No healing power at all on any of those ammys, little sustain. Burst meta anyone?
What are they concerned about? The duels taking too long?
Pretty much.
This is like an admirable attempt to make people participate in events instead of leeching, only done with lies.
I missed the first opportunity to get the potion because of my broken PC and I was really disappointed.
And what do I get now as a second opportunity? A broken event that doesn’t even work properly, sucks my soul out and forces me to be a thoughtless leech in order to get my selfless potion.
Are you aware of the bug that makes you lose the reward despite having stacks?
I believe it’s caused by disconnecting during the event. Will we get the rewards we lost due to this bug, as well as the ones from the problem on the event’s launch?
As you can see in the screenshot, my stacks weren’t consumed when the event ended and I didn’t get the reward.
I don’t really understand what you’re trying to say or what, specifically, the problem is.
I did the event after the fix and still got nothing. Had 9 stacks.
Maybe they should make Vital Persistance baseline and replace it with Renewing Blast… Which should be renamed to Renewing Shroud #1
I’ll use Reaper everywhere, regardless of effectiveness
