Have you considered sharing your work with NASA?
I very much agree with the idea of giving us a way of working towards skins. I love the PvP reward tracks and would like to have something like that in fractals as well. There’s a dozen ways of implementing this. You could progress by completing fractal runs and your progress would depend on the specific fractals you got. Or you could have specific requirements at the end of each tier like complete MT or run aquatic. This would introduce a little RNG and timegating. Its not something I would do but ANET seems to love that stuff so.
250 pristine relics seems a bit much and a tad uncreative. Fractal reward tracks would give ANET a way of incentivizing certain fractals and balancing rewards/progress according to fractal difficulty.
Furthermore I want to repeat what I said: completely replace skins with boxes. Goes for ascended stuff as well.
Also: 3g instead of 1g please. And +1 on exchanging rings for dragonite.I think the pvp reward tracks was a poor implementation because you’re getting rewards that are meant to be from completing dungeons, but oh well.
That’s because they wanted people who only play PvP to have a chance at crafting legendaries and getting skins and equipment.
So you’re telling me that S/D thieves are broken because, except for their evades, they also have “burst” that comes from Sigil of Air and Sigil of Fire?
Aren’t you telling them to nerf the two sigils, then?
From MY experience with S/D thief, they certainly have a lot of evades, which are difficult to pull off with good timing, but they lack in damage. Most of the time, I end up being out of evades while the enemy has already healed off the damage I dealt to him and is ready to burst me down.
But, seriously, it sounds like from everyone’s experience, all you need to do as an S/D thief is spam all your evades and win. Maybe I’m doing something wrong.
Were you responding seriously to my sarcasm?
My favorite is the good old Sneakthief armor, it just looks so good on Charr
Is there a way of playing WITHOUT grinding dragonite?
because when you have 20-25 might it (relatively) doesnt matter what gear you use
That’s a good simplification. Let’s say Celestial armor has 200 less power than Zerker armor (and in reality it’s less than that)…
If your total power is 1000 with Zerkers, then just in gear you’re losing 20% power if you switched to Celestial. If you have 2000 power, then it’s just a 10% loss in power. If you’re stacking might and get up to 3000 power, then it’s only 6.7%. The more power you have, the less a couple hundred makes a difference. That’s just basic math.
However vulnerability hurts Celestial rather than helps it, and I don’t know if “calculate it against vulnerability too” was meant to help Celestial or not. If you can do 1000 DPS in Zerker gear normally, let’s say that goes up by 25% to 1250 DPS against a target with 25 stacks of vulnerability. In Celestial gear let’s say you can do 900 DPS normally. Against the 25 stacks of vulnerability you can now do 1125. Where you were once only 100 DPS behind your Zerker gear, now you are 125 DPS behind. The Zerker gear gets a larger bonus from vulnerability because it has more damage to multiply. This is also basic math.
He said the vulnerability is to help the party.
Allowing it would also ruin dungeon selling.
- I don’t want to pay for new content
- I don’t want to waste a day updating for the new content
- I want to see fresh and interesting small updates every week, not a confusing glob of content thrown at my face.
I just put 4 exotics in the MF and I saw the Spark icon. My heart skipped a beat. Turns out it was Usoku’s needle. I cried myself to sleep.
I’m not sure, but I’d guess you won’t.
If you want to start over with all-new characters, I suggest you delete all of them but one, make a new character and then delete the remaining old one.
Though it’s completely terrible and inexcusable that they kicked you, you have no reason to blame them or laugh at them for playing however they want in a casual run and even less for using a title.
Those are not a typical example of a “casual”.
When I started watching and I saw you use Shield 4 to push that guy to your turrets, I knew I was in for a treat.
Nice video, keep it up
Hopefully ANet come up with a fix, so solos are no longer possible.
I hope you mean exploited solos only.
I don’t see why you’re using 5 Scholar runes. If you’re gonna go with Scholar’s, go all the way.
You can also use Runes of Strength, they work well with this kind of build.
I used them in sPvP for a while. They’re fun and deal pretty good damage if you go full glass (I’ve one-shotted elementalists with Unload).
I guess the reason they’re so unpopular is because they have no stealth or evades, so you won’t last long if the enemies decide to come after you.
They also don’t have any mobility, which is pretty important for thieves.
2>1>3>4 for me!
I REALLY want those new weapon types :P
scythe scythe scythe scythe
What’s up with all the necromancers raising dead threads?
Yeah, those escapes man, I’m so tired of conjuring my FGS and laughing while outrunning everyone.
The best way to farm gold currently is probably doing dungeons. You need a level 80 character with optimized equipment and preferably a group of friends who know what they’re doing.
Just do all the paths you can every day and, after a while, you can also convert your tokens to gold. I suggest watching a guide on that.
If you don’t like dungeons for whatever reason, you can try Champion farming in Frostgorge Sound. Just get a level 80 character to FS, get in a megaserver with a commander (or ask in the map chat where the train is) and start following him and killing champs with the train/zerg.
Another good option is playing with the TP, but you really need to know what you’re doing for that. You can try looking for a guide, but overall it’s a risky method and usually you need to have a bunch of gold to get you started.
You missed the biggest and most important change: 4th bonus on Strength runes had its might reduced from 5s to 10s, and 6th bonus is down to 5%.
I’m giddy with joy about this nerf
Now the ele/hambow/shattermes power creep is a bit more managable, and these runes may actually become cheap again!
Here here! Very warranted nerf. No one rune set should rule them all.
Yay, now we can go back to Scholar runes ruling PvE, when before you actually had a second option.
Cause you place 2 wells, go in deathshroud, where you have 100% crit chance, and all your wells+life blasts crit
I wasn’t questioning the wells, I was questioning the trait. You don’t really need wells to be ground targetted, since you’ll mostly be in melee range. I guess it’s just a matter of preference, though.
They don’t give you a bigger reward because they want to promote teamwork between the players.
Why Focused Rituals on Curses for the Death Shroud build? You’ll almost always be at close range, so you’re better off using Reaper’s Precision or Weakening Shroud.
Overall, I liked the guide. Very informative and useful.
Alternatively, you can ice bow #5 her, immediately drop it and use obsidian flesh (earth focus #5) and burn her down with FGS.
It can be tricky, and I suggest first clearing the spider hatchlings first.
I’ll try doing it on vid one of these days because I have done it before, but it’s a little RNG-oriented I guess :S
Like I said, though, the problem is not killing the Spider Queen, it’s killing the hatchlings without dying to the Spider Queen :P
First of all, the problem isn’t Condition Necromancers, it’s generally the state of conditions in PvE.
Second of all, what? A condi thief being superior to a Necromancer? Ah, sure. What are you gonna do, exactly? Put torment and bleeds on me? Lemme just transfer all that to you, who has no real condition cleanse, put my own conditions, fear you and then laugh while you melt.
Third of all, Necromancers don’t run. Also, let’s see how you’re planning to win in PvP if you’re running away from the points you’re trying to cap.
So I’ve managed to solo AC p3 a few times with my Elementalist, but every time, there’s only one thing preventing a smooth run: the Spider Queen.
After the change to her AI, I can no longer lure all the spiderlings in the corner and kill them safely, without dying. What usually happens is, I lure the spiderlings to the corner, I FGS and kill them all just when the Spider Queen kills me with her AoE. After that, I just respawn, run back and kill her from long range with Staff.
I did try going into the corner after the Spider Queen used her AoE attack, but she just uses it again when coming to the corner, almost immediately.
I saw a couple of videos on Youtube, but it seems they’re all before the change to her AI, so the players can just melee her with FGS.
Is there any way to kill the spiderlings safely?
Creative. Full Berserker, never heard of it before. Is this a common build people use?
I’m pretty sure it is.I think people need to stop comparing other professions to Warrior, or for that matter, being so concerned with whether or not they’re doing the ABSOLUTE POSITIVE SUPER BEST DPS EVER. If it gets the job done it gets the job done, you don’t need to be freaking superman. This whole concept does not impress me at all. It just shows me how insecure the community is.
The reason the “elites” are looking for the absolutely best DPS (and they’re looking for that in team composition, not just professions) is because they’re trying to make speed-run records. In those scenarios, the best possible DPS is very important.
But those elites are also influencing the community (happens in every game, really). If they decide that a class is not really optimal for dungeon speed-runs, many people just assume that class sucks.
If you take the example of League of Legends, you’ll find that it’s extremely common for a champion to rise in popularity because he was used by the team that won a tournament. This is pretty much the same concept.
I had hoped i would never have to see this biased abomination of a video again. >.>
To those of you unaware. Most meta players are aware that necro is about equal in DPS when under equal conditions (decent amount of buffs). This video clearly shows bias towards nemesis’s build however. And doesnt do anything but make necro look bad (tests favour necro, poor warrior rotation yet warrior still out dps’s necro). His second video wasnt any better.
Unfortunately, the problem is not the meta players’ view, it’s the community’s.
I don’t know how the meta players influenced it, but currently the community sees necros are useless baggage in dungeons. This is, of course, just what I’ve been seeing in LFG and most likely doesn’t apply for the whole community.
I hope we get some kind of team-buffing trait, like the +150 ferocity mentioned above, or a cleaving weapon, so we can be viewed as a useful profession in dungeons.
You even needed to transmute them before the Wardrobe and they didn’t plan to change it, as far as I know, so I don’t see why they would now.
Now that we got the wardrobe, you can use them as much as you like, so at least you’ve got that going, which is nice. (meme not intended)
I hear Malrona’s poison isn’t reflectable anymore, but can you still destroy the projectiles with untraited Mesmer wardens? What about with Elementalist’s Swirling Winds?
I’m so excited!
HOW DARE THEY BLOW UP THE SANCTUM I’LL NEVER FORGIVE THEM
… who did this, anyway?
Also, am I the only one thinking that that shot of Destiny’s Edge 2.0 makes them look like the bad guys? :P
If what you’re looking for is character progression, you should focus on your traits, not your skills. Your weapon skills are just your basic attacks, there’s absolutely no progression in them.
Your utility skills are far more important, but you’ll soon find that there are only a few useful ones for each situation.
Your traits, however, really help with your progression and can also enhance your utility and weapon skills.
I think the problem is that you’re associating GW2 too much with other games you play. You need to look at it in a different way if you want to enjoy it.
Definitely the best laurel purchase I’ve made.
I personally don’t really care much about the time limit, to be honest, but I agree that 5 minutes is way too low. It should permanent, too be honest, or at least last an hour or so.
Though I guess the randomness is a bit funny and interesting at first, sometimes I just want to transform to a specific thing :P
Maybe it should bring up a menu when you use it, to select the transformation you want, or just select a random one.
Since it’s infinite, we can already, in a way, transform to whatever we want, but it just takes a bit of time and it’s frustrating, so I don’t see why they shouldn’t change it.
I’m sure Necromancers hand-pick the freshest of bones and flesh to conjure their undead minions, so it shouldn’t smell too bad.
I want a dungeon that’s not too long, but is still engaging, challenging, with interesting new mechanics and enemy design, as well as an interesting story. It’d also be nice if it had a meaningful reward and achievements.
Also, I’d want it to not have any “skippable” parts (but also no meaningless trash mob armies) and “stackable” fights, to keep things interesting (and kitten off certain people).I’m asking for a bit too much, I’d say
So what, people will be forced to spread out and range bosses? Is that somehow more interesting than the party grouping up and meleeing together?
Sorry, I wasn’t very clear; I meant stacking in corners and LoSing enemies, not simply meleeing.

I don’t see a reason why it shouldn’t. Even if your character can’t use the item, the skin still becomes unlocked.
All I can say is that pulls are usually extremely buggy and don’t work properly most of the time. I hope they’re fixed eventually.
If you want story, read a book.
Are you visiting us from the 15th century?
I’m thinking of getting more into fractals. I’ve only been doing up to level 15 until now, since I haven’t invested much into agony resistance.
So, how much AR should I have for higher levels?
And what is the most efficient way to get it? I’m not planning on getting Ascended armor for a while, so I’m limited to trinkets and a few ascended weapons.
If you’re referring to the trailers for Season one, those were most likely to summarize the story for new players and to advertize.
EDIT: Also, if it went unnoticed to you, maybe it’s your own fault.
Remember when they said they were working on a new pvp mode?
Remember when they released that for hotjoin?
I think giving mounts with movement advantages will trivialize open world exploration a bit, though I guess it depends on what they offer, exactly.
I like the idea of fun, cosmetic mounts like the broom, that don’t offer any advantage.
Maybe it wouldn’t be a problem to have mounts that give you a 15-25% speed boost, though. As long as they can only be used in PvE, that is.
Xerrex I love your twitch stream but you are the only player who is able to play zerker engi builds. The rest of us should stay away from this kind of builds because we die in seconds.
And this fight should be in the Hall of fame of all fights. Just wow
Hey, speak for yourself. I’ve only played zerker engineer and I’m doing fairly well
You have the right intentions but the wrong perspective: the weapon skill set is not too bad, but what is ridiculously poorly designed is the PvE content
^ I must agree with this (though maybe not ridiculously)
But you still use the Water attunement for healing and the Air attunement for swiftness stacking.
At least now you don’t have to be completely braindead to stack on her
