You’re misinterpreting the thing:
The living story adds new content and keeps the world moving. They said it would be as big as an expansion’s worth, they didn’t say it would be a expansion
Will the living story stop until the xpac, or will there still be released before then?
This is something I’m sure you already have thought of?
Well we’ve been getting hints of the Mursaat and the White Mantle in LS2 a lot. It’s a safe bet they will be part of the story in the future.
well.. The mursaat are a lost race, kinda, I doubt we will see them in reality, I think more we’ll be collecting their knowledge as they knew how to deal with elder dragons.
as for the white mantle.. I recall someone mentioning them before but I dont think I actually saw anything about them ingame… didn’t they disband after the lich made his move? I thought they all died….
I even saw some of them putting beams in place, and when they walk away the beams disapear and they come back with the same beam.. Yea.. that was it is gonna take years to finished LA.
but seriously, though, that place NEEDS to be rebuild by now
There are a few windows I believe could host a few good stories apart from the dragons, but they may include the dragons if it’s plausible.
1. Civil War
The renegades and Seperatists haven’t been sitting on their kitten while the dragons steal the show. They still very much want the charr and humans te seperate and are ready to start some fire over this.
2. Victims of Thaumanova
How about a thaumanova survivor who blames the peacekeepers for the incident for funding and now wants revenge on the council by terrorizing rata sum.
3. Blood Stones
Now we can’t go forgetting about these. 5 huge stones which caused pretty much all trouble in the world apart from the dragons themselves. If anything, these chunks of stones could and should be the main villain.
4. Multiple dragon attacks (so I’m falling back to this, after all)
Just because mordremorth is rampaging about slowly waking up, doesn’t mean that Primordius and Jormag arent doing anything. How about an attack on two fronts for once? this isn’t an anime where every villain takes a turn.
5. Centaurs
Don’t have to say much here, I doubt these guys suddenly don’t want their land back anymore
I don’t mean if it was or wasn’t the real zhaitan, I mean more.. was it ‘him’
He is an undead dragon who rules undead. Is it possible he was a creation in loop?
I mean, his tactics, way of thinking and such very much remind me of insects. Moving along literal lines and directions, no room for interpretation. So I was thinking, did the same zhaitan rise as the one that sunk, or could he have fallen to his own risen-ness
He almost seems like a risen himself bound in his purpose as an elder dragon. He only attacked locations where there were either a lot of people (to strengthen his forces) or where there was food. He didn’t seem to care to attack locations with more political influence, like Mordremoth and Jormag have done. Which leaves me to think, was he either dumb by elder dragon standard, or was he on auto-pilot
Because the people at anet always choose the long road, we’ve seen that many times before. There are more logical conclusions to the ones they usually take
How the frack do you have 46 characters?? i have eight and theyre all waiting impatiently to be played
I think what the game needs is more of an overhaul to the difficulty of content.
When a lv80 player returns to the starting zone, he is weakened. Nevertheless, you still can solo large clouds of mobs without difficulty simply ebcause the armor and its upgrades are of higher quality.
I believe this game would really benefit from a ‘hard mode’ like we had in gw1, or an overhaul to the current downgrade system, making it a bit more viable.
This post was more intended in the direction that anet designed the thing life five year olds were the main contributors
Here’s a big labyrinth for you. We just found out about the place, but don’t worry, here’s a map, a detailed lineup for your friends locations whom we have lost contact with, an immortal ally who will kill the hall monitor for you and yea.. thats about it. Don’t get lost.. oh right, we made sure you can’t so don’t worry
Is there any progress on this achievement nog starting?
The most recent dev-talk about this was talking about it as if it was fixed, or that you should be able to get it, but the achievement is still not appearing.
(same with fine dining and wine tasting)
no SAB please, that was a huge waste of resources
For the love of the six gods.. the eternal alchemy, and the gods the charr burned..
ITS A FRIKKIN’ GAME!!!!!!!
Now repeat after me:
It’s a game
It’s a game
it’s a game
let that sink in
no need for political corrections, no need for social equality, it’s a game
There’s characters in it that die and live, their gender has no effect on this.
There’s characters in it that love each other and their gender has no effect on this.
There’s characters that are absolutely evil, untrustworthy kittens and their gender has no effect on this.
At this point they stated that as long as they believe that the LS can carry the franchise, they won’t start an expansion. So, as it stands, it will be at least a year before they will ATTEMPT to BEGIN an expansion.
Preorder the expansion and get a walking cane with it, for free
Link, please?
Anyway, even if we don’t actually go there, I’d be shocked if we don’t see/hear something about what’s going on in Cantha or Elona within the next year or so. I don’t know if it’s been retconed, but the original reason Tyria was cut off from those two places was because of Zaitan’s Dead Ships patrolling the Fire Islands and the Crystal Desert’s northern coast, and I would think that two years after Zaitan’s death the Pact would have thinned it’s navy to the point that ships from either direction might actually start to get through.
At the very least, when the story goes toward’s Kralkatorik, we’re almost certain to hear something from Elona, since it’s pretty much just off the edge of the southern part of the current world map (I think you could even walk from the northernmost part of the Desolation to the southernmost part of the Crystal Desert and visa versa in GW1 as long as you had both Prophecies and Nightfall on your account.)
I don’t have a direct link, but I have come across several notes of devs stating as such. I don’t know what the power of their word is..
And it’s only only zhaitan that isolated kryta. There’s Kralkatorrik in the Crystal Desert and S-Bubbles further in the sea with his/her unending storm
As for cantha specifically, it’s currently on a xenophobic lockdown, so I doubt anyone but a well prepared xunlai or whisper’s agent.
Guild Wars 1: Practice with various effective builds until you find one that suits you
Guild Wars 2: Oh, you don’t have enough AP or not the exact right rune or weapon? goodbye
^ this. You dont know how many times ive been kicked from high level fractals for not being zerker. Even though im usually the one who is trying to heal the ones who are full zerker.
im a celestial ele
I’ts all about max dps,
and at a cost, that’s only zerker. Conditions are considered a no-go because they do good damage, but after a warm up period, healing is considered neglectable and especially celestials are frowned upon as the balanced noob gear (no offense to you)
I really hate a game where they try so hard to give us options, and then people say you should play only the top option because the rest is crap
so I returned to GW1 and WoW and for challenging content.
LOL good one…..
It’s the raids that does it. The rest of the game is as sandbox easy, too, I know
What do you mean the dragon will awaken at the season finale? Mordremoth is already awake hence why everything is going to kitten with his minions running about.
Unless you meant the egg.It is very unlikely that it is fully awake.
They can create and control minions even without being awake though. A great example of that is the Great Destroyer and the Destroyers in Eye of the North, which were minions of Primordus and yet Primordus didn’t wake up until rather many years later. If it had woken up, we would have seen some sort of catastrophe most likely.
It’s not yet (fully) awoken, because they bring with them an environmental calamaty when they do.
Kralkatorrik ripped the earth open,
Jormag sunk half the shiverpeakrange,
Zhaitan rose Orr, which flooded Balthazar’s Isles,
Bubbles (I still doubt he is a waterdragon) has a permanent raging storm in the sea
Primordium has activated several volcanoes and flooded the underground where the Asura and Dredge lived with lava and magma.
My presumption for Mordremoth is something to element of hims stripping/absorbing the green life of a large portion of the world. Turning possibly the western side of tyria in a dried wasteland
yea okay, I got that mixed up, apologies for that.
But in that case, it’s not a labyrinth at all, and replace the labyrinth word in my argument with the word maze.

Guild Wars 2: Oh, you don’t have enough AP or not the exact right rune or weapon? goodbye
“Believing Anet would be able to carry to strength of GW1 over to GW2”
Guild wars 2 started to feel like a sandbox RPG, so I returned to GW1 and WoW and for challenging content. I only occasionally return for the LS and season events.
The only think that comes to close to a raid is when we do try to do dungeons with the guild.. NUDE
I have opened about a hundred various champion bags, but the achievement hasn’t started yet. It just doesn’t seem to be active or something.
Labyrintial definition:
An area of disorentiation without the ability to navigate on eye
Anet’s definition:
An area in which disorentation can happen, but is unlikely, plus you get a map with markers of where to go next
REALLY?
Same problem?
What’s the problem, I needed these organs so I was very happy to find these it finished my achievement

It’s mostly because the Asura and Norn want to flourish as a person and not as a race. As a result, they push their own desires and leave others be. They only have a minimal government to avoid extremes
There’s three options (in the short run)
1) The plan succeeds, We kill mordremoth this or the next season before it awakens.
2) The plan fails 1, Mordremoth awakens and causes a natural disaster which changes the game
3) The plan fails 2, Mordremoth awakens and causes a natural disaster which anet will most likely ignore/neglect

I kinda miss roar, and the humanfemale /laugh and /no could use an overhaul, so over the top I don’t like them. They sound like a sassy black woman laughing at herself when she goes “oooh hell no”
Sentence this post accurate very much is. Understanding the mount of Zhaitan is the seventh disciple of physics and biochemsitry. Wings come to the alpha of the moon.
Do you understand?
The only 1 found hard, even with my dodging skills was the facet of strength, bcause the pulling projectile was almost impossible to predict. So I had a friend kill him for me, while I was n combat waiting at the side :p
THESE CHALLENGES ARE RIDICULLOUS – ly easy
As for the challenge motes, yea, they might’ve put a little more effort in SAYING THEY WERE THERE AND WHAT THEY WERE FOR! (thats a shout at anet, not you)
“let no one die”
“dodge all CC”
“kill within x time”
“find x items”
I don’t know, I find very direct and self-explenatory
The “unforgiving” attacks usually have a big elaborate movement, or a big red circle 2-3 seconds so you have plenty of time to press your dodge button. The only excuse is at the world bosses, where there are so many flashy effects you can’t see these animations
At first I had 8 unique, but I found the engineer to be such a piece of worthless $#*$%&^I deleted him for a Guardian which I reserve for PvP now
I find this whole topic bullock when you have a dodge button. I have a 100% zerker, so nothing but the default armor/health and I rarely die because I have a dodge button. Practice using it, stay mobile and equip mobility enhancing skills.
I don’t think the egg contains Glint with any more propability than any other egg contains its parent. It is however possible that glint MIGHT have stored some knowledge into the child.
Olvendred has a point with the dragon champions. Dragon champions come in varying shapes and sizes. Zhaitan has had Norn champions, Tequatl, the Eye of Zhaitan. Jormag has had the Drakkar lake dragon/leviathan thing, the Nornbear, and the Claw. So there is nothing stopping the DSD from having some terrestrial or aerial champions who could cause some major issues.
Even kralkatorrik who is supposed to merely resemble a mountainrange has wings. So nothing stops the others from flying.
To all the above, “A yet unidentified dragon has awoken in the depths, driving all aquatic life into submission or forcing them to flee north towards risen armies. The awakening has not yet triggered a worldy destructive event, but canthan refugees have claimed to have seen tentacled horrors”
While the dragon awoke beneath the sea, people were a bit a too quick to assume it’s a water dragon. I mean, wouldn’t that kind of make it a second jormag? In any events, I haven’t seen anything yet that could identify bubbles as a water dragon. He says he is even still underwater, he could be flying above the sea now.
Oh, I understand the out of game reason for it.
But the IN-GAME reason? Do we have any sort of reason to actually go there from our characters point of view?As of yet nothing have been added without an actual reason for us going there after all.
In game reason:
three things, apply any you see relevantA) A dragon is resting in the middle of the sea that divides kryta and cantha. No ship has managed to succesfully cross it, let alone a retour.
B) Canthan Ministry is a slave to new xenophobic empress. The main city is walled off against any and all races that aren’t human. In retrospect, there is an open hunt on the kurzick and the luxon, and since that bounty was erected over a 100 years ago they may well be extinct already. Naga, Tengu, Krait (yes, naga and krait aren’t the same thing), Yeti, Warden, anything that isn’t homosapien is being slaughtered there.
C) Although Factions emperor was considered ‘nice’, it is a common belief that the average emperor would put the entire continent on lockdown and burn half the map if necessary if so much as a little problem would arise. (poverty not included, though after the plague there was a huge mass extinction of the slums to prevent spreading)
A) Wrong.
That was deadships and everythings linked to Zhaitan who cut the link with Cantha. The “DeepSea Dragon” is …“deepSea”. Only the Largos had to manage him, and the Karkas, maybe.
B) Right. The emperor became really xenophobic, and cut all links to “his” country, when the firsts dragons awoke.
C) Right again.
BUT, don’t forget that first, there were really BIGs links beetween the human of Cantha, and the human in Krytia. A really deep commercial (and more) relation.
In order to save the humanity, to discover and learn more about Dragons, we actually need to go in Cantha.
I can see where you’re coming from, but consider this. Zhaitan rising rose Orr, which caused the flooding of Balthazar’s Isles, and a severe portion of LA and its surroundings. However, This was very close to Kryta, the water dragon is far more south in middle of the sea/ocean (not quite sure). We call him the water dragon but we don’t even know that yet. He could very well be a dragon of storm and thunder or something ridiculous. Jormag and Zhaitan were also resting underwater (although in a frozen sea/lake).
And the Largo’s are similar to the norn, they answer to the promise of pride and honor. So some would follow and some would reject the water dragon.
And zhaitan isn’t cutting the link between the two lands, even if he were, that problem would be gone know as all the remaining risen orrians are on auto-pilot now. The water dragon is causing quite a stir. Even if the storm doesn’t work, the remaining krait who worhip the dragon like a god would take any survivors down.
(edited by Ayakaru.6583)
I’m so tired of these silly arguments of why we can’t go to Cantha. The most common are:
1) “But… the deep sea dragon!!!11”
My answer: we have airships now, genius. Why not send a small fleet of airships to Cantha?
2) “We have no reason to go to Cantha!”
My answer: No? Humanity is going to kitten, all hiding in their city while getting hammered by centaurs, bandits, and and my barber’s grandma.
I think it would be a good idea to re-establish contact with a continent that is known to be controlled entirely by humans, and may have technology that far exceeds anything on continental Tyria.
The dragon is causing huge storms, hurricanes and eveything. A storm is never limited to the area BELOW the surface. If you got some nasty thunder going on there
Oh, I understand the out of game reason for it.
But the IN-GAME reason? Do we have any sort of reason to actually go there from our characters point of view?As of yet nothing have been added without an actual reason for us going there after all.

Anet doesn’t want cantha due to the fear of politically resistant China, even though half of China’s playerbase also loved Cantha -.-

Guild Wars 1 dealt with the AFTERMATH of the guild wars. When Abaddon gave magic to the world, the guilds began to war among each other. So a large portion was returned and shattered through the Bloodstones.
Guild Wars 1 takes place decades, if not centuries after the last guild war. The reason the game is called guild wars is because most of the events are a direct or indirect result of the chaos the guild wars caused. The first time magic was released into the world, it was used in utter and pure chaos. The magic we have now is but a slimmer of what Abaddon broke free for us.
I still need 3 organs, gold’n’silver, and 2 of the legendary monsters.
While the latter may still be an option, the previous ones are currently unatainable since all servers are dedicated to controling the amber fort and letting the rest of the map gather dust.
There’s never a party in the LFG to move (out of an amber fort dedicated map, that is), nor does anet ever show a hint to implement to server jumping.
I really loved it (at least three times as much as AB)
While I do hope it comes back, I won’t be waiting in line.
I keep saying this:
I bought a game. woohoo, I can play
Oh look they have an expansion (in bits) WHAT!?!? I HAVE TO PAY FOR IT, THAT IS UNHEARD OF!!I know right, I love having access to Reaper of Souls when I bought Diablo 3 . . .
. . . wait.
Or how about “Enemy Within” when I bought X-Com!
. . . wait.
Anyway, isn’t the only thing people without access are locked off of . . . the story missions? Not the access to Dry Top / Silverwastes?
Oh, and new players also don’t get Living Story Season 1. In any fashion. ANet, I’d love you to rectify this somehow.
Hey, remember when we got Grand Theft Auto, that old 2D game? I was really shocked to find out I had to pay for the futue stories. I mean, who in their right mind does that??
