The one time event is Sunday, not Friday.
How about they just post the scenes on their YouTube channel and/or create a video after the events to tell the entire story?

You should be making more money that you’re spending on waypoints. If you’re not then you’re doing something wrong. I’m not suggesting how you should play the game but its just so easy to make back your money.
Please no.
If I wanted to see the game like this I’d go play league of legends again instead.
And before you say it, yes I do realize that I can just zoom my screen in, but as was brought up in another thread, this would effectively be putting a handicap on myself because a lot of other people would be using the zoomed out view, which from my experience makes things a whole lot easier.
So what you’re saying is that you don’t like it and don’t want others to be able to use it because it creates an advantage that you’re not willing to use as well? This just seems a bit unfair don’t you think? I think it’s a great feature and if you choose to handicap yourself then that’s your choice. Don’t punish other users base on your personal preferences.

PST is before most other time zones. Everyone in Europe would already be on the weekend by that point.
EDIT: Whoops wrong thread about the same topic. In any case, the one time event is actually on Sunday.

You could argue some do it to farm kills for the monthly or to farm badges.
They’re doing maintenance right now.
Separate events. They’re doing maintenance right now.
I’m not sure if this should be in the bugs section or not. I just recently noticed that whenever I try to kills something that it runs away at around 5-10% health nearly all the time. I don’t remember this ever happening before. I can deal with it but it’d kind of annoying.
Was this intentionally added recently or has this always happened?
Waypoints are not really all that expensive and you can quickly make back the silver that you spend.
You could also change to their server but then you’re stuck there for 7 days.
I was. I don’t actually have a guild since I never cared much for them. You team up with others in the puzzle. If there are none then try again at another time.
Can we get a visual debuff for slowed movement while in combat please?

If they did do something then I’d prefer it to be a status icon rather than a visual debuff on your character.

One thing that I use are those triangles above the skills. If they’re not there then that means I’m still in combat and can’t change skills. For ranger you can go by the button that lets you stow away your pet.
Accusing someone of trolling the jumping puzzle who happens to things things are fine the way things are is unfair. I encountered it often when trying to get my 500 badges. Just gather a bunch of people and charge at them or get a mesmer to get up to the top and port everyone.
“Or just not have a jumping puzzle and give out items to everyone for free instead.”
Sorry I lost you on that, the point that I was trying to make was, that the major complaint was that it was designed as a group thing, but in the end it was not a group effort that got you a reward.
The way I was looking at it, is you would at least gotten something for someone making it so you would not feel terrible for each of your Individual Failures.
It wasn’t directed at you and I was just being sarcastic. I just see so many people wanting things to be so incredibly easy that it’d be no different than them just being handed the items for free.
I don’t see how it could be considered a group event. It seems like what they were doing was conserving server(s) bandwidth or whatever. If everyone had their own instance then just imagine how much load that would have on the server(s). They were trying to run people in batches which is more efficient although it makes it difficult for the users unless they know the trick. (Your character’s feet never change location on the screen so you technically don’t need to see your character.)
I think the major issue people had, besides not being able to see themselves, is that they failed to learn and adapt. They just keep running the puzzle, failing, and then do the same thing again hoping to get lucky. Most (just a guess) that likely were able to complete it did so by figuring out the best course to run and learned from their mistakes. I saw people who kept complaining who consistently ran on the outside which substantially slowed them down.
The difficulty was reasonable considering that you got an exotic out of it. I did the puzzle several times and kept getting candy bags so I don’t know what the big hype was for people to farm it. Granted, I could’ve had horrible luck.
Or just not have a jumping puzzle and give out items to everyone for free instead.
A LFG system is definitely needed to reduce the amount of spam map chat. Funny thing is that those who are on the map, the appropriate level, and would actually want to do the dungeon are already at the portal to it. There’s really no need to spam the map chat and you can just spam in the local vicinity instead.
Craft and/or go to other starting zones. You’re going to run into the same issue where you’ll notice gaps.
You can edit what you see on the far right tab. There’s even an option to add more customs lists.
EDIT: Nevermind. I must’ve missed the part about game messages.
You can also make guilds on the spot so you can create a temp one if you have more people and absolutely need to be in contact with all of them.
If it’s only 2-4 people then make a party?
Like Bruno said, everyone has 24 hours to complete a daily making when the daily resets irrelevant.
As the title suggests, please move the looking for group option out of the contacts menu and into the party menu. I have no idea why it’s there in the first place and results in many people not even knowing that it’s there.
While I’m on the topic, can you also expand on the looking for group option? How about at least one option to be looking for dungeon groups. You can also added a text box for users to add their level, jobs, and which dungeon that they want. It would be great if the list for those look to do dungeons would be worldwide.
It would be really cool if they let us port to any (or even just our own) home city for free too. LA always has a ton of people in it but the other home cities tend to be much more dead. I think this has a lot to do with the free port there.
It’s a central hub with just about every portal going to it and where people can spam for dungeons. To be honest, making teleports to the home cities free will not change anything.
I can see where you’re coming from but I don’t agree with putting a handicap and punishing servers that have a lot of people. You’d actually make things much less enjoyable for them.
I’d actually prefer the week long WvW matches to be split into rounds. After each round, everything (except the score) is reset.
Jumping puzzles rarely yield worthwhile treasures but instead are done for the experience and achievement. They’re honestly the only thing in the game that is even close to being challenging. I’m against nerfing jumping puzzles.
If different difficulties were to be added those jumping puzzles that are only available for a limited time, I suggest that all of the easier difficulties only give you the achievement with the chest giving only junk event items. If someone wants the “big item” (i.e. MK slippers) then they complete the puzzle on normal mode.
The costs of teleporting are very cheap and really shouldn’t be an issue in my opinion. The costs are a convenience fee.
If you’re constantly teleporting all over the map then take advantage of the asura gates. You can also hop into WvW and then take the gate to LA.
I got mine from a black lion chest.
No word from ANET?
There have been two responses from anet in this thread.
It’s not absolutely important that you complete this puzzle. I for one am glad that they finally have a challenging jumping puzzle.
You do not need the trait speed boost although it does help if you’re slacking. Just stick to the inside when doing your jumps after the first animation. I see people going on the outside which just wastes time. You also have to be constantly moving and not stopping to aim for your next jump.
For those that have bugged events, just keep looking for the haunted doors than randomly spawn across the map. If there’s an orange pumpkin at the top of the door then it will take you to the Mad King Realm.
