And I welcome it with open arms!
I just don’t understand the complaints from players about having to grind for their gear. At least GW2 allows you to obtain the best gear in the game without having to schedule your life around being able to raid. I would rather grind for my gear at my own pace and schedule then have to rely on 24 other people to both show up and perform for me to have a CHANCE at my goals. There are plenty other games for people with the “I want it now” and “with little effort” mentality.
GW2, the MMO for games “with a life”
It’s the new generation. It seems everyone feels they’re self-entitled to whatever they want. I could elaborate more but this goes beyond the scope of the forums.
Legendary weapons provide no benefits over exotics other than appearance. It seems there’s a widespread opinion that the appearance for most of the legendaries are not as appealing as they had hoped except for the greatswords.
The ascended accessories in the game are only slightly better than exotics and will likely not provide you any noticeable advantage. The other feature with ascended, infusions, currently are only used in fractals.
None of these are necessary to enjoy 99% of the game. You made the choice to make the game seem like a grind.
You’re always going to have whining, jealous babies everywhere. If they want this so bad, then let them roll a mesmer but that class, as of 12-3 patch, is broken in so many ways
Mesmer works the same for me so I don’t know what you’re talking about.
3-Map completion. Only solid way of getting, but with the syndrome of empty maps and people leaving this game, things are not looking pretty.
You do not need anyone to do map completion. The only potential exception is that you would need help getting the Temple of Grenth uncontested or at least have help clearing out the risen around the skill point.
Maybe if you hadn’t eaten all of those sticks of butter and chocolate from the loot bags then your toon could jump. Better get back to harvesting those carrots and berries.
Guardian’s staff skill 5 does this. It’s very useful for moving stuck skill point npcs too.
1. WvW is technically not pvp in a sense. While you do fight other players, there’s much more to it than a simple pvp match.
2. Fractals dungeon is relatively new and they’re trying to get people to start doing it more. There are still groups going on for the other dungeons. I believe that a solution for the time being is to create an open guild specifically for dungeons and recruit everyone for it. If someone wants to do a dungeon then they simply hop onto the guild. There may already be such a guild right now.
There’s only so much that they can do for straight pve tasks. If you have any ideas then I suggest you make a topic in the suggestions forum and post them there. It may help keep things from repeating month after month.
one way to solve this disconnected issue is to give everyone a precursor as a christmas gift.
Yeah and anger everyone who did the event but didn’t get one from the chest. All I see them doing is sending out a mail to those who participated, but didn’t get the chest, the 20 slot bag and possibly the accessory. They will not likely give people a shot at getting a precursor.

People need to have patience. If a search on the forums was done then you would’ve saw that something will happen this week. You likely will not see anything until the end of the week.
Just use the fountains to cloak yourself and run through it. Problem solved. If that doesn’t work then come back at another time.
I hate it when people say forum users are the minority of the community.
We aren’t. Anyone who knows about maths and sampling knows that forum goers provide a snapshot of the community and what we say reflects generally the feelings of the whole player base.
I know forum users = self selected sample so we arent totally reliable for feedback but that doesnt mean the people here and on other forums culminate to be a minority. It doesnt.
Do you know about sample size?
I doubt there’s a fix since it relies on people actually wanting to do it. The majority of people who used to do it all the time are sick of it.
I always run to the waypoint and then kill whatever is left that haven’t leashed back. If there’s enough distance between them and/or you have a lot of HP, you can just logout quickly when you get to the top. If you’re lucky, you’ll log back in and only have to fight whatever is at the top next to it.
Please remove everything and just give me the reward since I don’t like doing anything.
On a more serious note, just because the monthly has you do some things doesn’t mean that’s all that you have to do. Completing 7 fractals is very easy and there’s plenty of time to do things the rest of the month.
You do realise you can do the entire jumping puzzle while stealthed right? Just go on youtube and watch woodenpotatoes run through of it pretty easy
Kind of an old thread but worth resurfacing to point out to those complaining about the jumping puzzle that there are three stealth pools that you can get. In the video that was posted in this thread that shows you where they are.
The only thing that he was wrong about is that you can’t get from the second fountain to the third without being stealthed in plenty of time. It’s not possible unless you’re an elementalist with the passive speed boost like he was in the video. Without make any mistakes and taking the long way (no shortcut in dark room), you can almost get to the top of the pit area with the chandeliers before stealth ends. A mesmer can easily port a group up an overtake any campers.
I guess the next thing would be if anyone has any tips for quickly completing the puzzle.
Some dungeons and the Orr karma vendors have that type.
Yes, 60 dungeon runs/set or 42k Karma/piece. I don’t play that often, which is why I asked this. Thanks anyway.
If you do dailies and a monthly, getting the karma sets are very easy. Just make sure to buff up how much karma you get using guild and other boosts.
Some dungeons and the Orr karma vendors have that type.
Where is the WvW area on the World Map?
Where is then Chantry of Secrets on the World Map?
Just cause they named the achievement “World Completion” it doesn’t mean that it has to be limited to what you can see if you hit the M button.
The first island south of the zone in entrance from Lion’s Arch. It’s where you fought the Asura ( I think) for the skill point. Just go to the back of the cave.
It all depends on your luck. The rate you make profit off ectos will be slower than what you can get by farming. Most of your chance to make a lot of gold would come from the runes. I managed to get an exotic rune but it was soul bound. There’s also the risk of losing money from this too.

Uh oh. I sense a nerf coming.
Go to an area that you haven’t been to on the map. How do you know that you don’t already have it?
Well I’ll be a kitten’s uncle. I had no idea the JP chests reset. I assume it happens at midnight GMT just like the dailies?
All jumping puzzle chests reset after 24 hours from when you last opened them. You can only open then once per 24 hours per account.
Shrug. It still had a chance to change every week. I hadn’t paid much attention to the rankings and just assumed it was random.
No. You will only get gear tied to your actual level.
Where your server spawns on the maps is randomized every week. It’s possible to get everything with time. Time that you have since you’ll still need all of the other components.
You cant do it twice daily. You can do it twice on one particular day, but you wont be able to do it again the following day.
Daily means “once per day”. This concept is flawed unless they fix it to reset at midnight for every server individually.
Your concept is flawed because people from different time zones play in all of the servers.
Nothing is mandatory unless you’re a hoarder and then yes, bank/storage space will be necessary.
There isn’t one
What are the four objectives for the pve monthly?
They are saying there are issues with offering name changes, yet they are able to force mandatory name changes, with out issues, for those who’s names are found to be against the ToS. Doesn’t make much sense, does it?
It does. A handful of people changing names is different that a large group of people doing it.
Dailies reset at 5PM PST.
4PM PST
I’ll just throw out there that doing dynamic events is slow and you’ll likely spend a lot of coins porting to each one.
Because there’s no realistic way to change your gender just like you can’t change your race.
Yeah they do. You get exp for completing them.
The percentage is multiplicative, not additive. If you have a 1 in 4 chance of a ticket winning, having 4 tickets doesn’t mean you’ll have a 100% chance but instead more like 50% or so. In other words, they don’t stack. For all we know, having 100% MF in gear may not actually yield 100% MF if each piece is multiplicative.
I can provide a better explanation later when I’m not stuck using my phone.
That’s right. If magic find works in this way, then consider the lottery ticket example. Each ticket has a 1/4 chance to win. The chance of getting AT LEAST ONE winning ticket is:
1 – [the probability of NOT getting a winning ticket]^(# of tickets)
1 – [0.75]^4 = 1- 0.31640625 = 0.68359375
So, having more than one ticket definitely increases your chance of winning, but it is not additive. As you buy more tickets, your chance of winning asymptotically approaches 100%, but you never actually reach 100%.
The lottery ticket was just a small example to give an idea of how it is working. It was never and can never be a 100% accurate comparisson between MF and the lottery for a simple reason:
In the lottery one number must win.
If there are 1,000,000 different combinations possible (powerball currently has 175,223,510 different combination on a sidenote), then buying 1,000,000 tickets means you will win, unless you buy one combination twice, and therefore missing another combination.
Looting a mob does not ‘always have a winner’, even if a unlimited amount of players could and would loot that mob, it doesn’t guarantee that someone gets an exotic. We are btw getting a bit off-topic here xD
Not quite off topic. We’re (or at least me) are arguing that the percentages do not stack.
Drop rates are also very subjective. There’s really no way to determine them just by what you get within a week or so of gameplay. Take a statistics course and you’ll know what I mean.
(edited by Ayrilana.1396)
I think it had to do with ransoms who are not great leaders going for them. I personally feel its a waste but I’d never demean someone for choosing to get it. I’d just block them and pay no attention to their comments.
This is under the assumption that the percentages are additive (stacks) rather that multiplicative. You may actually be getting less that a 100% increase of whatever the current drop rate is.
You do not need to leave. I can attest to this.
Crafting is the quickest at the expense of cost. The quickest way without there being a cost is by going for world map completion.
I doubt anyone would be capable of buying it. I doubt anyone has a thousand gold since that’s at least how much everything would cost.
There’s more at work than one single event affecting the price. You have the karka that dumped a lot in the market. If you follow supply and demand then the price would logically drop. You also have FotM which has increased prices of a lot of components due to a high demand and low supply. Supply on a lot of items has been lowered due to the bots being banned.
These are just a few.
Also for those reading this thread.
The 0.3% chance for exotic is just a guessed value.
It is probably <0.01% (which would mean ~1 out of 10000 looting would include an exotic. It is far less than that). Just thing about an event where 50 mobs would be killed by 10 players. That would be around 500 possible lootings. With one in 10000 exotics would almost be a ‘common’ loot. 100% chance increase isn’t alot after all.
There was/is that Powerball jackpot in the U.S. afaik (not from the U.S.), and exotics are like the jackpot. If you buy 2 tickets, you double your chance to win. It’s still very unlikely to win though.

The only item for map completion that you can’t get solo is the skill point in Grenth. Some classes can but not all. Everything else is possible. I know since I just recently finished it on a toon.
Tequatl should but not Shatterer.
The amount of loot that drops for downscaled players has been increased. You should now be able to receive level-equivalent loot until you are fighting at a downscaled level that is less than 2/3 of your actual level. You should also receive loot a greater percentage of the time as well as receiving a greater percentage of experience, gold, and karma. For level 80 characters, this means level 55+ areas will be able to drop level 80 gear and give about 75% or so of the other rewards. Previously, these areas would give level 77 gear at best and closer to 60% or so of your rewards.
Please ANet, making some POIs inaccessible when there aren’t particular events going on (like Stonecrag Kraal in Plains of Ashford) is really, REALLY annoying.
It’s possible to get in there even if the gates are shut. Go to the location in the screenshot, up the rock that looks like a ramp, jump to the right around the corner onto the other rock, and then jump onto the fence. If this just teleports you to the gate then you can attack the gate. Attacking the gate and destroying it will trigger the event.
There are NO items in PVE that you can’t get into that rely on the event. By this I mean you don’t need an event to happen in order to have access. If someone as found something then by all means post and let me know.

Rather than make another complaint thread, how about you suggest improvements?
