Interesting that you can influence the market with guides. Advertise something as a quick way to progress and watch your profits shoot up. No SEC to monitor you either.
Just some crazy nut with a conspiracy theory.
@Ayrilana
You should not ignore your pets!
The ranger class is designed based on damage from both you and your pet. Ignoring it means you loose damage output. Also some pets remove conditions, and apply boons to both you and allies. You might as well play a warrior if you ignore your pets …
As I stated, most pets die too easily to really be effective. I often used them as a distraction.
I honestly think that if he’s going to continue to play games in the future then he’d be better off getting an entire new system.
We don’t know the full specs of his system including the condition of the hardware. You don’t know what his power supply is so adding a newer CPU may not work. I don’t think his motherboard was even mentioned but I could be wrong. If he got his computer from Dell then the CPU could actually be soldered on. Compaq does solder theirs to motherboards a lot of the times too.
Orr is doable solo except for maybe over at the Temple of Grenth. When I do those zones I’m usually 75+ and have up to date armor and weapons.
High level chests, randomly from mystic forge, as a drop (normally a champion).
Then don’t use it? The loss of runes for MF will not have a significant impact in pve.
Your full of kitten lol, my warrior with full MF, does about 10k with hundred blades, with full power, prec, and crit, i hit 25k consistently, im sure you can imagine what the other damage skills do also.
You’re not reading what I said. I was referring to just runes. You’re likely referring to armor that has MF as the third stat which I do agree is a waste. If you do ONLY RUNES then it will have a minimal impact on damage output.
I used bear the entire time and pets were not my focus. You’ll do just fine if you ignore them. Right now a lot of the pets die too quickly to be of much use.
I hope it’s difficult. Those kind of jumping puzzles are fun.
You go to the other starter zones and complete those. You can get there by going to the city that’s by where you started and going through the purple portal to Lion’s Arch. This is the central hub of the game. You then can take other purple portals to the other starter zones.
You also get experience from doing those random events, exploring new areas, completing the daily, and so on. I usually go for map completion when I level and I haven’t really needed to grind for exp at all.
Nobody knows and the devs will not likely tell us until they remove it. Transfer at your own risk.
It’s for whichever character completed it.
I often take my mesmer into the puzzle and then troll the campers. I’ve knocked their mesmers off the platforms numerous times so they can’t port anyone up.
The actual number matters a ton actually. lol
No. No it doesn’t. Look into the concept of fractions. He used a very simplified example so that you could understand it.
No matter how many people you get to help, you’ll all still be working the same amount of time as if you had done it solo or just farmed together but kept the loot for yourself.
Finishing stuff fast is awesome though. Keeps you motivated. It’s an idea i have and im gonna try and i think if i can find 2 or 3 more people. It will go smoothly
Except those who are near the end of the list who bear all of the risk of not getting it done with the group so those at the beginning can have their legendary earlier. Much less risk to do it together and not pool loot.
And what incentive is there for those at the end of the list to get theirs to stay with the group when they can get their legendary at about the same time solo?
Will you specifically be willing to go last?

Or did the Karka event.
Condition proc and condition damage are two separate things.
The standard nowadays is 4GB RAM with 8GB preferred. RAM is very cheap by the way.
You’ll get the same reaction anywhere you post. The idea to form a guild and go for one legendary at a time is horribly flawed. It just won’t work with random people.
You’re better off doing what I and others suggested and forming a guild where everyone works towards their own legendary together.
If you bought a game and the price dropped months later, would you demand a refund for the difference?
where is the EB jumping puzzle? i have been scrubbing for 2 weeks exploring around for completion, and it’s tough.
They’re reached by going through a portal at one of the keeps.
At the SW keep, if you start at the waypoint and go north towards the repair npc, head out through the door. Go down the stair and immediately go left (west). You’ll see it on the left.
For the north keep, it’s right below the big statue of the Minotaur what also has a vista. Go down the stairs at the base.
I can’t remember exactly where it is at the SE keep since my server rarely starts on that side. I believe it’s in the NW courtyard underground by the vista.
Coordinate an attack. We’ve done this many times and have freed up the entrance.
Which misses the point about the whole thing really.
Also, the dark room and the room after with the cages is very hostile to pass even with the invisibility fountains. And even with a coordinated attack.
So a jumping puzzle is supposed to be easy? It’s in a pvp zone so it’s going to be different from the others. Pvp is part of the jumping puzzle.
There really should be no issue getting through the dark room and the dome while cloaked. You don’t need a torch if you have the Halloween back piece. The only issue would be if people are spamming siege or laying traps but that’s on rare occasions.
There are mystic fountains in the puzzle. Use them.
They don’t work when you get camped at the entrance and pulled down and killed from the door.
Coordinate an attack. We’ve done this many times and have freed up the entrance.
I have done it numerous times. If you read the post you quoted then you would see I recommended using mystic fountains. I rarely have issues.
You can also grab those in the puzzle and coordinate an attack.
So I’m being ignorant because I disagree with you?
I have a solution – remove the jumping puzzles from WvW.
The chests gives you WvW items so no.
Is the jumping puzzle optional? Yes.
Is it in a pvp zone? Yes.
Do players attack other players in a pvp zone? Yes.
Should you expect to be attacked while doing the jumping puzzle? Yes.
There are other jumping puzzles throughout the game so why focus on this one? If you need the badges then you should realize that they are part of WvW which is pvp. If you don’t want to pvp in the puzzle then use the mystic fountains.
Then don’t use it? The loss of runes for MF will not have a significant impact in pve.
So who decides who gets theirs first and and you really trust somebody that you don’t really know? That’s ignoring the fact that after someone gets their legendary, they’re still tied down to farm for everyone else which may be equal to or greater than the time it would take to farm solo.
You’re better off using the guild to facilitate farm groups where people can keep their own loot.
It’s your computer/connection. All dragon events are just fine as of last night.
There are mystic fountains in the puzzle. Use them.
I played Dagger/Dagger until 80 and stayed in fire atunement. I didn’t have too many issues. For skill point challenges I used the hounds plus an elemental as a distraction while I did damage. Some people swear by the other elite skills but I found them to not be as helpful.
Help! I contacted support yesterday and still haven’t received my chest.
I even attached a picture to prove I was there.. Any suggestions? Devs? Community?
Be patient.
It’s so different because at the beginning everyone was just starting out. A lot of us have multiple 80’s now and are focusing on other aspects of the game. You’ll still see a lot of people on the starter zones right after the dailies reset.
Before I start, I want to point out that MF does NOT increase your chance at getting drops, it increases your chance at getting RARER drops from monsters(source:GW2 wiki). MF does not effect chests, bag contents, or quest rewards, only drops.
What about salvaging ectos?
No. Your best option is to use the BL kits.
Being squishy in MF gear is subjective. The only thing use lose out on are the stats from runes which is very minimal. Yes, there’s the armor with MF built in in place of one of the stats. Unless your build would’ve used that third stat for VIT or Toughness then the argument is irrelevant
I have yet to see any well done, quantifiable tests to substantiate that you’re significantly worse off with MF gear.
The mail is giving people a chance at precursors? I thought they’d just give everyone the bag and accessory as a consolation prize.
There’s a video on YouTube of it.
At the moment I don’t think anyone knows. It might have to do more with the difficulty (i.e. boss at the end) compared to those that are strictly just jumping. Create a list of those that offer loot scaled by your level and see how they’re all similar.
Since there is going to be a large amount of new players, won’t they group with each other?
A fair question. However, in my experience, when you have an influx of new players in virtually any MMO, they tend to gravitate towards more experienced players/guilds.
Then it’s more their fault for choosing to do that than how the dungeons are set up.
Locking down after 6-8 attempts is hardly anywhere close to being a lack of security.
You clearly didn’t read, it didn’t lock down.
Your phrasing was misleading.
There’s hardly any chance of your account being hacked if you use your email address for the game only and nowhere else. If you use your email address on other sites then “hackers” will have access to it.
Locking down after 6-8 attempts is hardly anywhere close to being a lack of security.
They also have an authentication method going on that you assign the trusted locations that can log onto your account. For example, I can log on from my home network but when I try to log on from my phone, an authentication email is sent to my account email asking whether the log in attempt on my phone is authorized.

Go to the main forum pages listing all of the different sub-forums and search for jumping puzzle chest scaled in the search box
It doesn’t have to be unique fractals for this month.
There’s three locations plus the dungeon(s).
Not really. It’s pretty easy and only takes a matter of minutes to finish. You should try that stealth one in Blazeridge. That was the most annoying one.
Response to Response #1:
Only like three (?) slots currently have ascended items and legendary weapons are primarily for the visual effects. It’s a very minor part of progression in the game assuming you even care to have the 1% (guesstimate) increase in stats over exotics.
Response to Response #2:
Grinding is not the be all, end all of progression. Like I said above, the difference between legendary weapons to exotic weapons and ascended gear to exotic gear is so small that you’d likely not notice a difference. It’s only those hardcore players that want absolutely the best in slot for their tunes that would like care.
Without a “grind” then you’d have them on the forum complaining about nothing to do. It’s a no win scenario since they’ll complain about one thing or another. Anet can only release content so quickly and they don’t want to overwhelm all of the other players with content that they can’t keep up with.
Response to Response #3:
I was just being realistic to justify the initial cost. As an MMO, it’s expected that content is rolled out gradually. We’re running into two distinct polarities of players: hardcore and casual. I’m sure I don’t have to define each of them as we’ll as point out there are people who call in-between.
Anet, and likely nobody else, is capable of pushing out enough content updates to keep hardcore players occupied. It’s impossible to do so. All the other MMO’s incorporate a grind of sorts to give hardcore players something to do. Doing so will alienate casual players who don’t necessarily have all the free time to dedicate to the game and they’ll just feel overwhelmed and never be able to catch
I’m starting to think that people who complain about “grindy” have never played an RPG before. Every RPG has some form of a grind and about every MMO does. It’s impossible for companies to constantly push out enough content to satisfy the hardcore gamers who revolve their life around the game. This is where a grind is used to keep them occupied as new content is released.
This game has very little grind. Do you need the handful of ascended items? No. Will they give you a significant advantage over exotics? No. Do you need legendary weapons? No. Do they give a significant advantage over exotics? No.
I’ll also add that this game had no monthly fee hence the cash shop. They also have no obligation to keep pushing out new content. There’s enough content to justify the $60 price.

@ OP
Less and less? hell yea you’re pretty right, it forces even when it doesn’t mean to due to FAST and uncontrolled spawns, say I’m runnin in Orr, ppl pop a message in MAP chat sayin: hey lyssa’ temple got like 3-4 events running, now… I’m kinda far but I can still foot it, keep in mind all those zones are contested so there’s no other way.I’m trying to make my way through the crowded waters full of zombies and finally make it to the beach, hey look I could go this way there’s even a skill point and… w8… there’s a dead guy there… press cmd
Just how? HOW am I supposed to survive THAT? when there’s not even an event running?? and I’m an engineer? HOW??
You come at it from the south where there are less things to kill.
In regards to the rest of this thread, people who complain about this game not being solo-able likely need to re-evaluate how they play. They’re doing something wrong or the game is above their skill set.
(edited by Ayrilana.1396)
I also think that you can only have one trap up at a time. I’m not sure of the impact on rangers who use traps in their build.
I even attached a picture to prove I was there.. Any suggestions? Devs? Community?
