You have to activate him and then kite him until everyone shows up. It’s best to have a group of people ready to fight him the second he is found.
Those arguments claiming they got to level 80 and only have xx% completion are irrelevant. You don’t kill anything unless you have to.
Not possible.
You have to do too much.
I only level doing map completion and I cap at a bit over half way through and I run past everything that I can and only do what is necessary.
I’ve done world completion 5 times and this is very very far from true.
Unless you have ALL of the other components necessary for a legendary then what’s the rush?
With a group that knows what they’re doing, you can complete all three paths faster than you could pre-revamp. You have people attempting the dungeon without even bothering to read up on strategies or watch videos.
I saw this one video the other day that someone made of the path 3 boss claiming that it was impossible to beat due to the falling rocks. They were still trying to fight the boss the old way. If they had done a simple search then they would see you need the npc to cast their shield to block the rocks.
This dungeon is still very easy. It’s just that you have to know the general idea on what to do beforehand which honestly isn’t asking much.
My takeaway is don’t fix whats not broken and don’t listen to a small vocal minority. In reverse, whats broken doesnt get fixed or takes ages to get fixed. To sum up my annoyance with AC and the 26/03 nerfs.
Even if I read up all the strategies and watch the YouTube, i’m still gonna get wipe. Firstly the gears play a part,if u have crappy gear and u gonna get ko in 1-3 shots. Those aoe circles range are so big, how’s many times can I DODGE!
Read my post that you quoted with the other guy’s. You DON’T dodge. This is assuming that you’re referring to path 3. Reading the strategy would show you that you don’t need to and will rely on the npc casting shield to avoid the rocks.
The new ghostbuster thing in p2 is way too slow plus the boss mob has ai issues moving from trap to trap.
Not really. You only need 3 oozes to charge a trap. Takes about 30 seconds to charge a trap with a decent coordinated group.
Soldiers is meh and Rune of the Monk is also meh. Most players want full berserkers gear and divinity runes. Why would they ever go to AC which is just a drag.
Not everyone does berserkers. A lot of people go for the pvt gear. Most people don’t use the runes that come with the dungeon gear so your argument about that is moot.
(edited by Ayrilana.1396)
While AC is still doable even in a PUG / non “Elite”-Group, it has become incredibly tedious IMO and you need patient and determined players or you will never finish.
Most groups take 2+ tries at spider (usually half of the group leaves immediately after the first wipe), 6+ (!) tries to defend Hodgins, Ghost Eater takes really long even if you do it right (when not having 4x war, mes berserker group that kills him in 1 trap shot), Rumblus depends on if Grast puts his bubble up or not… (forget about fighting Kholer or Troll in a PUG – the latter is extremely deadly even on story mode!)
I guess it will get better once more people get familiar with the new AC (will take very long as few people do AC anymore)
Ghost eater can be done in under 5 minutes if your group uses basic coordination and know to attack him when he doesn’t have ghost shield up. A decent dps group can kill him with only two traps used.
This is no longer a baby dungeon so it forces players to take off their training wheels and learn the basic mechanics that are required for all the other dungeons.
In dungeons where most people skip trash mobs, and chests are not affected by MF, you’re better off wearing normal gear.
If a berserker warrior can solo him then there is no need to nerf him. Watch the videos, keep trying, and learn to dodge.
It helps to kite him on top of the mound and everyone stay away from Hodges.
The more damage that you have, the easier/quicker it will be. The less time that it takes to destroy the mounds, the less mobs that can be spawned You’ll want to have at least one elementalist to use ice bow. The spare ice bow can make up for classes that are terrible at this part such as ranger and necro. The #4 ability on the ice bow should be staggered so only one person uses it per mound.
Having party members that are level 80 and level 80 exotics are the ideal but you won’t find that all the time in pugs. The closer your members are to that standard, the easier the dungeon will be.
XP is different than currency.
It’s possible but unlikely that anyone will do it.
I think the guy is trolling or just doesn’t understand math/logic. If you have 10 bags then they take up 10 slots. If you open all bags then they take up 3 slots (tokens, karma, coin bags). If you get 2 more bags then you can open them and they combine with the three slots already taken. Not a difficult concept to grasp.
In the grand scheme of things, two slots doesn’t matter. You should be selling stuff off.
Quaggans will soon be the master race
The new skins but they are account bound.
Can this be extended to 5 min? This should be more than enough time to get people to his location.
You should ask in the dynamic events subforum. This is for dungeons.
Jumping Puzzle - Daliy Challenge - No reward
in Account & Technical Support
Posted by: Ayrilana.1396
Which jumping puzzle? Unless it has an achiement tied to it, it won’t count.
It could also be due to you not hitting the trigger for completion.
Doing the pvp monthly so you can get the extra laurels is not exploiting. You’re doing a legitimate event/achievement where only the reward is glitched. This isn’t the same as the exploit players used many months ago to convert karma to gold or exploiting a dungeon.
You’ll have a difficult time finding players like that in the newer generation of gamers. I won’t go into details about their characteristics but I’m sure you’re already aware of them.
You don’t really need a guide. Just common sense and some skill.
Yeah but we’re talking about pug groups. You won’t find that many people who can look at a boss and figure out how to beat it on their own. Many people fail at lupi in Arah because they do not take the time to learn the moves and figure out why they fail.
People really need to look online for guides on how to do the revamped dungeon. I keep seeing people complaining that the dungeon is too difficult or impossible and their reasoning clearly shows they have no idea how to do the paths. Claiming that the boss at the end of path 3 is impossible because you can’t dodge the rocks is a good example. The npc creates a shield that protects you.
Exactly. People shouldn’t have got a week and a half worth of “ascended progress” just because they were too lazy to do their monthly before patch, but all hurried to do it as soon as this bug, exploit or whatever it is, got known. It’s really lame and imo they should either remove the laurels from those who got them without deserving them, or give everyone else a chance to get them too.
A lot of the people who got the extra 10 laurels don’t pvp. So they were not likely to have completed it this month.
It is only a problem for the next 2 days, then you’ll never have to worry about it. I know i’m never going to get 3 tournament wins by the end of the month so i’m not letting it bother me.
There’s single game tournaments which are exactly the same as the random games.
(edited by Ayrilana.1396)
I don’t have a main character nor will I ever. I play all of them equally and each serves a different purpose in the game.
Is Grast more reliable yet? If not, maybe he should create the bubble once, at the start of the fight, and it stays up the whole time. If the bubble only protects you from falling rocks, done.
It’s off and on. Most people stack up on the column to negate his annoying knock back attack that he spams. This also tend to help with keeping the npc alive and reviving those that die.

Maybe you downloaded the wrong one (i.e. for wrong operating system)? The GeForce forums have people complaining about FPS issues so you’re not alone.

You can also downgrade your driver if need be.
(edited by Ayrilana.1396)
What driver are you using?
Because there’s really no challenge to them.
Ac path 3 final boss fight
when your on the floor as a Enginer you can not/ out run / out dodge/ survive the falling rocks !
You’re not supposed to dodge them. The npc creates a shield that protects you.
I also want to point out that the players in that video have absolutely no idea how to fight the new boss. The fact that they’re fighting it as if it was still the older version does not mean that there’s anything wrong with path 3.
(edited by Ayrilana.1396)
It varies. For path 2’s final boss, if you wait long enough then it will come to you. Let it stand on the trap and just summon the ghost oozes. Have everyone use the number 1 skill on them and its an automatic charge to the trap. No need for coordination. I will add that it’s not that difficult to tag a target and assign who will lift and who will pull.
As far as not having enough endurance to dodge his poison circles, what else are you dodging? There’s absolutely no reason to not have enough.
AoE limits affects everyone including those in the zerg. It would be ridiculous when two or three players could stack their attacks essentially wiping a zerg. It would then come down to who could cast their spells the quickest/soonest.
I’ll also add that tactics like flanking do still work very well if done correctly. Staff ele is support, not main dps. They should generally not be on the front lines so speed is not an issue.
(edited by Ayrilana.1396)
I don’t see why it’s important since it only impacts exploiters. I’d actually prefer them to not announce these fixes so exploiters panic when they realize they have to fight the boss the correct way.
For spider queen, make sure to clear the fire gargoyle turrets before you spawn her. This means leaving some spiders alive and not aggroing everything causing a wipe which a lot of players do. Kill all spiders before engaging the spider queen. For her, you just stay out of the poison circles since they do a lot more damage if you stay in them.
You also should not be in front of the spider queen when she does her aoe immobilize ability. This will cause you to take a little damage and prevent you from moving during the duration of the ability and about 5 sec after. She has a cycle with her attacks where she will do the poison rings, then the immobilize attack, then the poison rings again. Having condition removal and/or passive regen helps.
Everything else is the same until the last boss. Keep in mind that gravelings and scavengers will knock players down. This makes getting the scepter pieces more difficult and as well as skipping them to get to the final boss. I’ll also add one thing: when leading the npc to do the scepter part, DO NOT, DO NOT go right which leads directly into the room since this will aggro the oozes. Instead go left through the hallway. This just adds unnecessary time since the npc will fight them.
The final boss is easy but annoying. Avoid fighting in front of him since his breath attacks to a lot of damage if you just stand there. You can see the animation for the attacks making it easy to avoid them. He also loves to spam a knock back attack which is the annoying part. For the adds, just lure them into the fire rings that the npc creates. DO NOT use the stairs to fight the boss.

The event sequence is WAY to long to be worth the time. The pre-events can easily take 30 min to do.
Probably get a better response in the dynamic events subforum. This is for dungeon related topics. You may even find a thread that people continually post in for which servers are currently open.
There’s no reason to include exploit fixes since you shouldn’t be exploiting in the first place.
There’s a sub forum to advertise guilds.
Likely teleport guns since they’re frequently used to exploit paths. People even use them to act like Mesmer portals if there’s a wp within range. I hope the venom vials are still allowed.
As for the subject on a whole, you can still do the Arena under stealth, you just need to be incredibly fast and make no mistakes in doing so.
Not anymore. The light effects from mad memories does not work under stealth. You’ll never get past the dark room.
Yes you can, I use the back book item on my toons all the time in the dark room, they still give off light around you and I make way through room(and camp spots) using it and haven’t used torches since Oct.
Not under stealth which was what they were referring to. If you’re saying you still can under stealth from the fountains then you haven’t done it recently.
Mad King’s Book still works in the dark room? I have never used it but I’ve heard from many people that it doesn’t work anymore.
It doesn’t if you’re trying to use it while under stealth from the fountains.
No noobs means that the players must be experienced in playing their class AND the dungeon. I usually just say I want experienced players rather than say no noobs. Aside from lack of experience, low leveled players cause groups to fail more often than anything else. EVERY group that I have been in where there has been two or more low leveled players, it always has failed.
I just got out of a group for AC Path 1 which failed over eight times on the mounds. There was not enough damage to destroy the mounds before the guardian was overrun by gravelings and couldn’t protect Hodges. We had a lv35 ranger and something like a lv45 mesmer. They constantly died and most likely did minimal damage.
Please remove ledge that players are now using to melee the howling king and not take any damage as well.
The dungeon is not difficult. I was worried after the revamp but after doing all of the paths, they didn’t really change much. Most of it sums up to just learning to play. You see those little red circles when fighting the spider? Get out of them! Notice the spider shoots an immobilizing spray? Get out of it and keep from being in front of it. Notice those fire rings when fighting the last boss on path 1? Make the trash mobs follow you into them. Path 2 at the end just requires a little coordination so that not everyone spams 1 at once.
Now i have to realy say ……OMG! Did you even read what i writed before??? I did this dungeon ,,100 times" I know how to play it!
You just dont understand what i am writing here…..Before update it was just relax dungeon. There are other dungeons which we can go if we whant to do something more difficult like Arah. Which i sometimes doing too…if have mood for something harder. Thare is 8? dungeons and fractals can you tell me one realy good reason why one of it cant staly little bit easier? Just dungeon for relax like it was before…
Now do you understand what i am talking about??
I wasn’t responding to you post but the entire thread. The number of times that you do a dungeons does not mean you know how to do it. There are a lot of paths in dungeons that people did that time but only knew how to do them by glitching. The ability to glitch gets removed and they can’t get through the path anymore (at first).
Also, it doesn’t matter if you did this dungeon 100 times before the revamp; the bosses have changed. You can no longer facetank the spider queen and just stand in the poison rings without taking hardly any damage.
You’re going to have a lot of groups that fail because you have people that have no idea how to play effectively. They’ve played solo where they just facetank whatever they’re fighting and have no idea how to play as a team. I stated in my previous post simple things that players should be doing. It’s what a lot of us learned many months ago from playing the game.

Groups are still trying to use the staircase to beat the boss on AC path 1. As the staircase does not go anywhere important, how about removing it so players are forced to actually fight the boss as intended.
Before the change a couple months ago, you could easily to all 3 paths in under an hour and that was with a very good group. There is no way that this can be done without using glitches such as for the bot with turrets and to get into p1 from p2 or p3.
You’ll take at least 2 min clearing the two groups of trash mobs in the first hallway and about another 2 min getting the npc to the next room to choose your path. You can clear the first alpha in about a min with a high dps group. It’ll then take about a 1.5 min at least to stack up and defeat the 5 golems. You’ll have about 30 sec to coordinate shutdown of laser grid. It will then take 2-4 min to beat the golem depending on whether you glitched the turrets.
That’s 9 to 11 min at least just before the paths split under the assumption that you have the optimal group with everyone knowing their role exactly and no mistakes.
For Path 1, the security panel takes about 3 min if you do the 1-4 method which includes running to it and clearing the first wave of large golems. The second alpha will take about 2.5 min since you have to wait for the npc, choose option, and wait for him to be targetable. The next part can take from 3 to 10 min depending on your luck. I heard rocks/knockdowns help tremendously but I have yet to see a group pull it off. I assigned 3 min to the knockdown method assuming its possible to do that. The last alpha will take about 1.5 min due to travel and waiting for him to be targetable. This brings path 1 to 10 min or 19 total.
Path 2 will take about 3 min to defend laser. Add another 1.5 to clear stairs since you cannot lose aggro anymore. Add about 1.5 to kill the second Alpha and another 30 sec to skip all trash mobs to next boss. This will boss will take at least two min even though most groups take at least 5 but I’ll assume you’re just that lucky. The last alpha will take at least two min. This comes to 10.5 for path 2 portion and 19.5 total.
Path 3 will take 2 min to skip all mobs and get everyone to their laser. This boss will take 5 min. The last alpha will take 3 min. This paths comes to 11 min and 20 total.
I lowballed all of the guesstimates on time and I hardly think most of them are possible. I see all of the paths taking around 45 min on average. If you think it will take less then record your run from zone entrance to exit without edits.
It was only a matter of time before those who are trolls and/or against all of this guesting for your daily rare(s) took action. I’m just surprised that it’s not as worse as it could be given that the timer website has little security with its timers.
It’s part of the puzzle since the devs created the puzzle with those included (doesn’t matter who uses it). If you want a puzzle without traps and especially pvp (I see this thread diverting to it like all others), then the chest should NOT drop pvp-related loot. Sounds like a fair trade off since it doesn’t make sense for a pve jp to drop pvp loot.
Eviator, what he is doing is in the EB jumping puzzle there is a massive flame trap that covers 80% of the area in jet fire he is purposelly useing those agenst his team-mates, thusly killing them, the flame there does quite abit of damage for a trap, and theres not enough room to dodge out the way without rolling into another.
I’ll also add that there is a way to avoid that entire section.

You forget that achievement points will eventually give us laurels. I’m pretty sure a lot of us will be able to find several pieces of ascended gear right off the bat.
All games have a grind. Welcome to the RPG genre. The grind in GW2 is hardly a grind and what there is that is a grind, is hardly necessary to enjoy all of the game content.
Or remove the stat differences between exotics and rares (sarcasm). Other than fractals, no new content has come out. You’re still as capable as you always were of enjoying the game content in exotics.
The difference in have exotic accessories compared to ascended is not that much. You just have these people that want the absolute best in slot item and are so impatient to actually work for it.
True, but with new ascended items (is rumored to have an entire ascended suit) then the whole thing will be much better then exotic (kinf of like rare>exo)
By the time the other items come out, most players will already have the ascended items. I doubt ascended armor won’t come out until late summer.
