does the ancient karka chest scale? or can i still get a precursor from it?
You must be 80 to get level 80 items.
You DO NOT need to repair all the time. You should only repair if a piece goes red at the earliest; you can go longer than that though. The effect of having damaged gear (in the yellow) is so minimal on the grand scale of the event that you’re essentially wasting money.
Honestly, I’d take the chance again.
I feel your pain, but please consider the logistics of what you’re asking Anet to do.
How do they determine who was disconnected and who wasn’t? Should they just take everyone’s word for it who gets on the forums and complains about it? That’s certainly not a definitive way to do it. Do their logs have a way of reflecting disconnects? Possibly, but I’m going to say they probably don’t.
How do they give the rewards, if they can figure out who deserves them? Do they mail it? That’s likely not as easy as it sounds, because I doubt they’ve made a system for running the loot tables and mailing it. Do they spawn a chest only certain people can see, wherever they are? That could be possible. Maybe.
Furthermore, should Anet really make a habit of giving free things to people that just get unlucky? Don’t get me wrong, Anet isn’t completely off the hook for what happened to you guys, but let’s face it, accidents happen, and Anet can’t go around fixing every little accident that happens for the rest of the game’s lifespan. And if they start now, that’s what they’ll have to do.
Again, I’m not trying to be offensive or insensitive to any of you unfortunate souls. I know it sucks, but before you get your expectations up, I can tell you right now, what you’re asking for is not nearly as simple as you think it is.
There should be a log that shows we completed the events in the event chain. They can then just cross-reference that with those that opened the chest.
how could they even fix this anyways? the damage is done and we dont get anything. cant even log back in STILL!?!?!
There should be a log showing completion of the event chain. Those that completed them should have a chest made available to them.
Last event that I’m ever doing. I’m not even going to bother if a simple dc will waste my time.
You know you don’t have to repair unless it’s broken? With so many people here it won’t make a difference.
Event started at Canoch’s Folly right before the cannons
Southsun Cave near the cannons most likely. It may start at the wp before it since that’s where the last event stopped.
If you go up the right ramp and follow the right wall to where the “webbed” area meets the solid wall then you’ll wall through.
SE of map is the other
They’re in the new area.
Tomorrow’s event is likely where the cannons will break a hole into Bakestone Caverns. I think today’s event was just giving us access to the island and to explore.
I’ve been doing well at pve so I don’t know what you’re referring to. If you’re referring to speed then yes we’re slower but not too slow.
I tend to just ignore people that complain. A lot of people are just stuck in their ways and are incapable of adapting to change.
You have an invisible bag that prevents items in it from showing up to sell. Go to your inventory and hover the cursor over your bags. You’ll see the description that will tell you this.
You can always play both.
The range for that zone is 15-25. What level is the story quest? If you want to level up more then I suggest doing the other starter zones and cities as well as get 100% map completion.
You can access other cities through Asura gates which are the large purple portals you see in town. Go into the charr city and the portal should be on the west side of the city. This will take you to Lion’s Arch which is a central hub for most players. You’ll enter at a section that has gates to the other cities where you can do the starter zones there.
If you don’t notice the name then how likely are you to notice anything else?
So many people claiming they’ll stop playing because of this. But how many will actually follow through? The only ones that are against it seem to be those that have dedicated so much time in the game. I’d find it surprising if they quit over something like this.
There’s also a chance that its just a minority that are against this. You can’t tell anything from these forums as to what the actual percentage since people tend to complain more than compliment. Just look at reviews of places or satisfaction surveys filled out.
I also don’t see what the big deal is about gear. All of the exotics are relatively cheap and if you’re attached to a skin then just transmute. Am I missing something?
You can get them on the trading post.
You can retrieve them by salvaging with the most expensive item but you lose the gear. You can try with cheaper salvaging items but you run the risk of not getting it back. You get salvaging items from vendors.
Yeah, an i5 is probably a better choice since the difference from an i7 will hardly be noticeable. I personally prefer desktops over laptops because they can easily be upgraded over time. With a laptop, you’re usually stuck with what you have for the most part.
In my opinion, laptops are not the best for gaming but to each their own. I’ll also add that there’s a ton of online help so customer service should not really be a factor in your decision. I had Dell for 10 years and I never had to call their service line. I’m sure you’ve heard this before but building your computer is a good alternative and you don’t really need that much experience to do it. Most of it is straightforward.

Hopefully your hand doesn’t cramp up. That configuration isn’t very ergonomic.
There’s relatively very little to do at level 80 at the moment so I wouldn’t worry about it too much. WvW isn’t going anywhere either. Just do what you want and have fun.
Guilds honestly serve no point other than organizing people together for some activity. You can get by fine without them.
If you are in a guild, when you’re doing the activity (i.e. WvW) then it would be helpful to be representing the guild for communication but then most use raidcall or some chat program. When you’re not doing anything with the guild then it doesn’t matter.
I’ve completed map completion twice and am almost done for the third one. My advice is to be systematic with how you complete the map and don’t just jump all over the place.
I normally work on the outer edge of the map and then circle around before finally clearing the center. I occasionally run around just getting vistas, poi’s, waypoints, and revealing the map before doing the quests and skill points. This changes things up a bit. I’ve played RPG’s for years so it takes a lot before monotony bothers me.
False.
Lvl 10 = First book
Lvl 40 = Second book
Lvl 60 = Third book
Yeah I forgot that you got the book earlier.
That’s why you save the bank for those items and the rest go to mules.
Try scepter/dagger.
I’ll also add that when playing Ele that you’ll be very effective if you swap between attunements during fights.

Only a few silver for the 10 slot bags I think. You can also keep remaking accounts and save the extra bag.
Every class has their pros and cons. You’re not going to find a class that does high damage and have high defense. It’s all a trade off. You just have to find a customization of traits and skills that suits your playstyle.
I suggest changing to a server that is dominating if you’re in a rush and then get hem on all characters.
I disagree about getting the easy ones first unless those are all you can get. If you have the chance to get one that is deep in enemy territory then do it. This is definitely true if your team holds claim. You may not get another chance for awhile.
Currently there isn’t a way around it. You can wait until Friday night and the weekend since most people change at that point. Just keep checking.
It takes like 2 seconds to log out…
I always log out when I’m going to be afk for more than a minute.
Has anyone tried creating a guild and using that bank for extra storage?
Please don’t tell me that your bank will be featured on the next episode of hoarders. Just kidding!
Just use a character as a bank. It’s much cheaper than linking accounts. Just expand the storage for items that are soul bound. Still much cheaper than buying a second account which you can’t link anyway.
You should see it if you look at the keyboard mapping in the controls menu
Yeah I missed that bit
You don’t have to participate to get it. The only issue you’ll run into is if your server is terrible.
Speed depends on your class and build. Warriors will usually level quicker than mesmers for example. I personally found doing map completion to be a quicker method to level rather than farming events of doing WvW. By completing all of the starter zones (including the cities) you should be around level 25. If you know what you’re doing then you can complete a zone within 3 hours.
I believe it’s exactly 24 hours unless they’ve recently changed it. If you’re continually doing them then I’d take note of the time for each one.
I haven’t tempted this personally but I’m under the impression that it just doubles how much you get with each kill until you hit the max of 25.
Maybe someone else (or a dev) can confirm this but is the hidden effect of having that back slot equipped with the Halloween item that you randomly cause fear?
At first I thought there was some annoying glitch until last night when I finally saw the animation for it.
My take on this is that not just one single build works in every situation. Condition build have always been slower damage in my opinion so when you have large group events then you will usually not tag anything to get credit. This is of course if you completely rely on conditions as your primary source of damage.
I can see problems if the cap was raised since then things would become even more incredibly easy to kill. If the cap is raised then damage done needs to be lowered to keep things balanced.
I just look at the cast times and by personal experience from using the skills.
You want a storyteller but then how is that any different than if Anet did a YouTube video summarizing the even?
I’m completely against making any items used for map completion as account bound. Everything provides decent experience that I would not like to lose out on.
If anything, all additional characters have the fog of war lifted. I’d rather have something like that than lose out on opportunities for experience.
It does. It slows down the accumulation of money. No, it’s not going to have any drastic impact.
