The registration codes shouldn’t be region locked. You should be able to have him buy the expansion from the game store and send you the email with the registration code.
Just to be clear, the “region lock” applies only to registration, it does not apply to the world on which a player participates in the game. So as the kind players explained above, your friend can purchase anywhere, register, and then select a game world.
Have fun!

Half tempted to solo the last instance of HoT without armor and no traits allocated just to prove a point on how soloable it is.
Just because some people can run 100 meters under 10 seconds does not mean everyone can. Or should, considering this is a game that is suppose to be about having fun, and not about misery and suffering.
Just request Anet to make a mote for an infantile mode where the enemies hit with a wet noodle. That mission is only difficult for a subset of players and chances are they’re the same ones struggling with the rest of the game.

The two biggest barriers to completing such content are twitch skill and willingness to experiment to find something that works. You cannot teach twitch skill, but you can show people builds that work. Removing your build would simply be demonstrating your twitch. All you’d be doing was proving someone wrong on the internet. That would not be helpful.
Except twitch skill isn’t really needed for that instance. Content can only get dumbed down so much before it becomes a detriment to the other players. It should not be balanced around the lowest denominator.

I’ve done the first two HoT missions with only the items given from 1 to 80 level up rewards and no traits on a Revenant; which is a class I don’t particularly like and don’t really understand either.
I thought no trait made it way too tedious for me. I’ll keep the same trash equipment but actually use traits when/if I continue this little adventure.
It’ll be tedious for sure but it would show that it was completely doable regardless as to armor and build. I think some players just want an infantile mode of sorts. I’ve seen similar complaints all during LS2 as well. I kind of want to watch them play just to see what they’re doing wrong and if they’re not just exaggerating.

I agree with Menadena – do not start LWS4 in 2017 Anet. Please. Give us the rest of the year to enjoy the expansion content, especially considering it has 5 huge maps. Fill out the rest of the year with festivals and current events, but please don’t start LWS4 before Jan 2018
The expansion content and LS4 content will be permanent. I don’t see why they should push out permanent content releases just because some people want to exhaust everything from the previous content first before moving on.
Dungeons also work if you stick to the more populated ones like AC.
Node farming also works too.
Do the daily.
I prioritized stuff that I couldn’t buy on the TP.
At launch players had to do WvW to get the gift so I don’t see what the issue is.
But Southsun Cove has a portal in Lion’s Arch. I shouldn’t be a big deal to add it to the Portal to Tyria list.
And Queensdale has one to Fields of Ruin. The purpose of the portal is to go to each of the cities and not every map which has a portal to it.
The breaks between the LS3 episodes were very annoying, even if it was about the quality I was really upset for waiting next 2-3 months for almost the same things. The story of LS3 is good but waiting so long for them was bad for many of my friends, guildies, and it made some of them only coming back to game when episode hit and then I and others I know did not know what to do after.
LS1 had a lot of amazing content- introduction of Fractals, Edge of the Mists, seasonal events and really good story and the episodes had been released more regulary and the story had really good quality.
LS1 lasted for over one year (from January 2013 to March 2014) and had probably 20 episodes (correct me if I’m wrong).
LS2 lasted ~6 months and had 8 episodes, but had probably the best story so far, secrets, changing the course of actions.
LS3 lasted for exactly one year from July 2016 to July 2017, but as I said the breaks were too long.
LS4 will certainly start in January 2018 so I really hope it will contain like 20 episodes with great quality in every month or less, so people will not be like “I dont know what to do during this long break”.
Also it seems the next expansion will be in 2019 so it surely be the underwater expansion with Bubbles/Selbbub. He will attack Lion’s Arch (mark my words
).
So maybe Tengu are the topic for 4th expansion or LS5, because if Bubbles will attack Lion’s Arch it must involve Tengu to get out. So Tengu will be playable race in 2023
Don’t laugh. Mark my words.
They can just do more involved current events. There’s a lot of existing, and most likely future, story arcs that could easily be wrapped up in these.
If there is none then why not? If there is where is it?
What would there be?
How does how much gold you spend on it relate to experience in leading players?
Some people have a theory that it’s because of the beta characters since being unable to change servers this way only stopped very recently.

VB is the fastest map to earn currency with AB being the slowest. TD is not far from AB depending on whether or not the meta events have been completed quickly enough.
The overwhelming feedback from the early years on these very forums for core and LS1 was to improve the dialogue and VA quality. The VA and dialogue from those campaigns is of distinctly lower quality
Maybe in regards of what is being said, but not in how it is being said. That is the huge difference I am talking about!
I’d have to disagree. There’s only been one instance of earbleedingly bad dialogue in HoT and that was near the end of Hearts and Minds. Outside of that the VA’s have been pretty good about tone, pacing and delivery of the lines.
Now it could always be better, we all know Matt Mercer, Liam O’Brien, Nolan North, John DiMaggio etc… are all great VA’s capable of some amazing feats but they are limited in time which ultimately puts an artificial upper limit to what they and Anet can produce together.
That the one where the tone abruptly changed to them yelling to them being calm with the very next line?
I saw no difference between the dialogue from the personal story and the LS3 episodes. You’re putting way to much emphasis on your dislike of contractions and so forth as you have already explained several times amongst the several other threads you created about this matter over the last few months.
The reason is that I am just playing through the HoT campaign for a fifth time, and the artificially slow pace and bad pronunciation (“Whershoe partner?”) and contemporary vocabulary etc. are striking me as extremely out of place and highly unpleasant again. I can’t enjoy the content as much as I would if we still had the same quality in the aforementioned departments (see my initial post).
Everyone saying they don’t hear the difference is either not paying much attention to dialogue or completely insensitive to the matter.

Or they just see it as a non-issue.

Guuuh. A seperate currency maybe? Otherwise there will be empty wings.
Wing with sloth seems ultra empty already.
Unless they need the LI.
That’s what I would guess, as well.
Still, no telling if we open the other maps through Story, as in Living World, or just walk through portals as in the past.
Someone found a portal to the northern map and I saw where the portals would likely be for the others. Well all but one of them which is isolated from the rest. It could be like TD→DS where the portal doesn’t neatly line up.
I’m not sure Mounts will be unlocked through the Story; unless the Mount Renown Hearts will only be accessible (first) through the Story.
It was called out as in the open world so I would assume that the other three are independent of the story.
Edit:
I’ll add onto this post rather than make a new one.
The heart event in the first story instance is likely just an introduction to the open world ones. Anet has a habit of doing that sort of thing.
(edited by Ayrilana.1396)
Mount camps are special renowned hearts in the open world where you can try out a mount, use its movement ability, and unlock it when you complete the heart.

It’s what some players wanted who disliked the HoT meta map timers.
some players actually prefer waiting around for something to happen with no way of knowing how long???
They wanted timers that were independently based on the map instance rather than at set times of the day.
The issue with black tags is that they’re very difficult to see. Tags are not an accessory.
The white tag in winter zones is also very hard to see, but it exists. A black tag should be quite visible on all backgrounds except dark ones.
Yes, that white tag is an issue too. Just because it currently exists doesn’t mean that more difficult to see colors should be added.

With the new POF expansion approaching, I think it would make sense to add capes to the wardrobe.
Being out in the desert you’ll need some protection from the sand right?
http://i.imgur.com/f6xiaju.gif
Seriously though, I don’t see it happening with this expansion. Maybe the next one?
We likely will not see capes until Anet has the “tech” to have them dynamically move over armor/weapons without clipping.

I suggest anyone thinking about doing the x10 recipe, or having done it and are upset at their results, read the following:
In probability theory, the law of large numbers (LLN) is a theorem that describes the result of performing the same experiment a large number of times. According to the law, the average of the results obtained from a large number of trials should be close to the expected value, and will tend to become closer as more trials are performed.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Law_of_large_numbers
The average rate for clovers from either recipe is roughly 33%. It’s in your best interest to do the recipe that requires more attempts as that means you’re more likely to approach the average.
i thought nice i go for a legendary to make gold but with this trash rng i waste all of my gold in this stuped forge, why so unfair. i havent received 1 single stack of clovers from forge and already 70 mystic coins and globs gone. what a company…
Next time do the x1 recipe for more consistent results around the 33% average.
i tried, and got few but i dont understand why this unluck, we customers pay money for nice xpack but with this kind of gameplay we get punished, the op spend 350 coins for 30 clovers at that rate it dont matter if you lucky got the pre dropped you lose the money at clovers its just a pain for poor players. i cant say everything what i think becouse of infractions so i keep it friendly
i want a nice game, my rng got much better last few months so i play happy but i want also make profit on legendary but if they make me rage with mystic clovers. its very bad to me
You generally only use that many coins if you do the x10 recipe. I tend to spend between 230-250 coins using the x1 recipe.

Gamestop doesn’t give you a code until the day of release which I blame Anet. If you fully pay for the game ahead of time you won’t get a code that says you bought it so you won’t get the pre-own bonus.
this INCORRECT information !! as I got the Deluxe Edition and it will Includes:
Guild Wars 2: Path of Fire
Max-Level Boost
Spearmarshal’s Presence
Lily of the Elon Permanent Pass
Additional Character Slot
Identity Repair KitDeluxe Edition from game stop you will get the bonus just like you would if you buy it from anet !!!
but the Ultimate edition is not being sold by game stop at all !!!
http://www.gamestop.com/pc/games/guild-wars-2-path-of-fire-deluxe-edition/151918
Pre-purchase bonus != Deluxe items
Pre-purchase before launch and receive one Sunspear Weapon Skin of your choice, a Miniature Balthazar, and the title of Elonian Envoy.
Power/Power/Power
Pre-purchase bonus is from buying directly from Anet. It’s just like how different vendors have different pre-order bonuses for buying through them.

Hi everyone.
Thanks for asking. To change the race in the Gem store will not be an option in Guild Wars 2.
Now we will proceed to lock this thread.

Yeah, those were 4 years ago, sometimes plans change.
They’ve given no indication of changing so what they said then still stands. There’s no expiration date on statements.
The easiest solution is to buy a new character slot and then buy the instant level 80 booster.

Were you in VB when trying to do that?
No. Also, it doesn’t matter where you are located, this item usually always works, from everywhere.
Whenever I have had issues getting crowbars, it’s always been when I was in VB. I leave the map and it works just fine.
There’s a difference between creating content that may or may not be enjoyable for part of your player base and creating content that deters and alienates part of your player base.
Just like there’s a difference between an expansion and raids.
Anet, I’m not sure if you have been paying attention to the LFG, but as it stands getting into a raid group is virtually impossible from the LFG panel for newer players, or players who had not done any of the raids from Day 1 of HoT. They are just stuck in a Catch 22 and SOLed.
I sincerely suggest coming up with a way to fix this before the new raid content is released. Mostly by offering a bonus incentive or buff for allowing new raiders into the group.
Or new players can create their own groups that accept everyone.
As of today, I cannot purchase the Pact Crowbar. The “Buy” button is greyed out.
Please fix.
Were you in VB when trying to do that?
Way to set a good example for Aurene!
On the contrary we actually lost an event. Some of you may remember the Lunatic Inquisition game we used to have for Halloween, where some players would be ghosts and you’d have to chase down and kill the enemy team of villagers. If all villagers died ghosts won, any villagers that lived the whole time would win though. It was my favorite mini game in GW but tragically they seem to have discontinued it. =(
That’s probably my most favorite mini game. I enjoyed being a ghost and hunting players down as they attempted to hide (or flee).
Depending on the number of characters that you have, you can probably get a set every few days. It’s been awhile, and there’s a number of variables, but that’s what I was averaging.
None of them were required to get around the map although there may have been a few places that could have required them. They primarily just made navigating the maps more enjoyable. Except for the one in episode 3. I never got the point of that one other than unfreezing chests.
That last gliding skill would have been great to have.
(edited by Ayrilana.1396)
A raid story mode would be just like dungeon story modes. Players will all do them once and then pretty much never again.
I had been watching south lane the last couple weeks while farming the last of my ore and it seems that it’s slow largely due to how they handle the boss and scaling of events. There are a lot of events that leave you waiting on spawns which takes a lot of time with a lot of people.
Neither the 1x nor the 10x is better than the other. They just give us an option to trade consistency (1x recipe) for convenience.
- 1x is more stable because more people are likely to get close to average results from ~249 attempts to get to 77 clover.
- 10x is faster because the average result only requires ~24 attempts, but it’s a lot more likely that you’ll need more than average.
If you plan to make 100 legendaries, then it’s unlikely to matter which method you use. Since most of us are unlikely to plan to make more than 1-2 at a time, reasonable people can differ about whether they value convenience more than consistency.
tl;dr are you feeling lucky, forger? go ahead, pull the 10x recipe. (otherwise stick to 1x)
I’m only saying it’s better because I don’t think that the number of attempts would be large enough to produce the average even if they crafted all of the legendary weapons. over the entire player base the percentages are the same but the individual player will still see large fluctuations.
Edit: Not arguing against what you said but just elaborating on my position.
(edited by Ayrilana.1396)
You just never do x10. X1 is much better solution.
Well, not for me. I always use the x10 recipe. I make my clovers 1st thing when making a legendary (made 6 and close to 2 sets of legendary armor and back item) because of the other items they give, but I have had massive luck with clovers, have made over 600 and took maybe 100 tries with the 10x recipe.
Unless you have incredible luck and get 80 within 25 attempts, you’re just wasting resources.
I’ve made enough mystic clovers for all of the HoT legendary weapons and maybe over 15 of the core ones (can’t remember how many I sold) so I have a fairly good idea on the drop rate for the clovers. The x1 recipe is the best in the long run.
