They are locked behind mastery, after your first encounter using one.
Those are just the extra abilities and such similar to what you gain from the raptor tree after you obtain the raptor in that story instance.
What I’m referring to is the unlocking of the other mounts to your account so that you can freely ride them just like the raptor.
Likely only answerable by Anet but I thought I would throw it out there anyway.
- The raptor mount is obviously unlocked by the first story instance but what about the other three?
- Can we immediately go to where they are in PoF or will we be restricted from doing so in some way initially?
Essentially what I’m wanting it to be able to make a beeline to where the others are and obtained them right away so that my exploration in maps isn’t hindered because I lack them nor do I spend time trying to get somewhere which actually requires one of those mounts.

Edit: Based on what Anet posted, everyone except you and the OP are correct.
You got killed CC and conditions all the time without be able to fight or improve, and then you chose to come on the forum to cry and ask to nerf what you’re unable to kill.
Just a L2P issue, nothing more.
Make more practice and have fun.I really love the “nerf condi” and “nerf CC” threads <3
I don’t see the reason why I’d want to improve in this game.
I love those people who put “L2P” to complete their non-existent argument <3
A lot of the situations that you encountered can be resolved by playing better. That’s their argument.

So many people have given Anet kitten for not releasing raids, the rest of the legendaries, and so on immediately when HoT launched. I doubt they’ll announce something like that and especially something that was going to be released regardless of there being an expansion or not.
The entire purpose of the gift was to get players to do WvW and was probably why they moved it to a reward track rather than bought with badges.
Reward track progress can be gained by doing many of the WvW dailies which require no enemy player interaction. Killing a dolyak, taking camps, and so forth are really no different than PvE dailies since you’re fighting NPC’s.
Good luck killing Dolyaks or doing camps without being swarmed by daredevils to death.
I’ve had no issues when I was solo roaming. It helps to pay attention to your surroundings before engaging anything.
Yeah, clearly a thief has no means to stealth from 1500+ yards and just steal/signet their way unto you stealth with basilisk up.
If they see you then you see them. They could perma stealth the entire time but that’s not what I have been seeing.
(edited by Ayrilana.1396)
I did all three at once so it’s possible. Start with Stavemaster first since it tends to go down first and then to Blademaster.
None of the story instances, including the bosses, are beyond the scale of a solo player. There is one exception if doing the migraine achievement.

Better to get them from Dragon’s Stand. Farm other map currencies and then buy machetes. I’ve been averaging 120 ore per map with ocassions where I get much more.
It enhances your dodge to remove the acid.
The drop rates are pretty dang high for ascended gear, but RNG is by definition, random. It has nothing to do with the efficiency of the algorithm, and our algorithm has a good distribution anyways.
The better question is why is viper/HoT stats accessories still not available through fractals, especially when you’ve made balance changes that have kicked power builds out of relevance?
That is a popular feedback item regarding future fractal rewards that is on my list of potential proposals.
Will restrictions be in place so that those that do not own expansions that specific stat sets come from cannot select those stats (e.g. Must own HoT to choose vipers)?

Hover the mouse cursor over the ones you’re missing and do what it tells you.
Hovering the cursor over the collection items should give you tips on how to complete them.
This is a strange one as I’m not quite sure. It could be because the weapons are rare at that specific level but I’m seeing inconsistencies to that. I’ve seen an explanation to this before but I can’t remember where it was.
Thanks folks! I tried looking the item up, but it didn’t exist. Probably searched on too specific of a name.
Hunh, really does go for that much.
Now I need to figure out why.
If you list the item, we could probably tell you why. Usually because it’s very rare.
I just use the gear I get from the level up rewards.
Useful to me for weekly key farming.
Please pardon my ignorance but could you tell me how you do that?
Thanks,
Anela
Once a week I create a new character, use a scroll, and do the first personal story arc after which I get a key. I think most people do the human commoner one since it’s the quickest but the others aren’t that far off in case you want to change it up.
Just went and found a wiki page dedicated to it.
Useful to me for weekly key farming.
I use gw2tp to check prices as it has a cleaner look in my opinion.
Aren’t those achievements based on the account “Birthday”? I’m referring to the ones that give the titles, and most recently, backpack/weapon skins.
Never mind. Just looked it up and saw it was tied to opening your first gift for that specific year. Just request Anet to make those achievements based on the account birthday. I don’t have any issues with it personally as I doubt there are that many players who routinely delete and remake their characters.

Ah okay thanks guys I see the problem might be the meta not being fully completed so I will consider doing the reward track in wvw thanks for your advice appreciate it
It requires the reward tier to hit the max which is difficult without enough people doing the defend events for the camps prior to the boss phase. That said, there is a fairly large buffer allotted to achieve it.
I’ve recently been seeing South finish first a few times. It all depends on the number/quality of players. How well they handle the bosses also matter too. I’ve seen some groups do Stavemaster without blocking projectiles causibgvthe fight to prolong. Hareth has a ton of defense and I see people also tend to not block his projectiles from the spinning attack (using the golem).
Here’s what I made to do mine. It’s missing a lot of the formatting and there’s some last minute changes I did before printing that don’t appear to have been saved in this version.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1JSAWVZmuseIFVgvMIDCzDKQ5r_8VGZqsYx2x5dKupbs/edit?usp=sharing
Essentially all I did was copy/paste from the wiki and formatted/moved things so I had an organized checklist.
All NPC purchases and recipes I did first. I then went from map to map followed by fractals. I deviated a bit with the tier 4 collections as I determined it was quicker to do the first part of the collections first. I must have done the tiger one separately as it wasn’t on my spreadsheet. That one is fairly quick although having to do the event every time you need to talk to the NPC was annoying.
As long as you have a game plan for the collections, they’re not all that time-consuming.
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Reporting#Reporting_exploits_or_hacks
Be as detailed as you can.
Map completion isn’t that difficult on HoT maps with the HP trains. I did it recently in maybe six(?) hours or so but I’m not entirely sure as I wasn’t keeping track. The tradeoff with needing HoT map masteries maxed is that you do not need to do world completion. Masteries are also a one-time thing so subsequent legendaries will be easier to craft.
(edited by Ayrilana.1396)
Well that 10 seconds extra they have to do a dungeon run in because you’re not doing max damage seriously matters.
/s
It’s legal if they only pull combat data or something along those lines. I can’t remember the dev’s exact phrasing. If they claim to see your equipment, build, etc then report them.
You won’t get downed/dead in berserkers if you learn to mitigate/avoid damage. It’s all about proper placement and learning which attacks thatvyou want to avoid and which to receive damage from.
In the long run, berserkers is the better choice as you’ll learn these things and improve while using it. Using other armor will just act as a crutch and you’ll end up relying too much on the extra health and/or toughness.
Valid argument, but so is “You don’t always get that chance.” Whether it being from just getting purely unlucky and getting surrounded by a mess of AOE areas that you have to run through. Or needing to face tank something due to complications forcing you to take the most direct route and do the objective with a fraction of a second left or end with a Raid wipe. Or a random lag spike. And just like berserkers you can learn to mitigate the damage as well.
It can be just as beneficial to sacrifice some amount of damage to gain more throughput.
True. There’s always the chance that the extra bit of health could prevent you from getting downed. From my experience, if I get downed, it was going to happen regardless as to what my current HP or toughness was at the time.
Alright, I was mistaken (unintentionally of course) and thought you were talking about finishing a whole legendary within 60 hrs.
And instead of clearly stating my mistake in the first place, you started talking about some random stuff how it is possible to finish a whole legendary in 60 hrs and how superior you are to us, which led to this scattered discussion. The fact that you keep referring to basically every post doesn’t make it easier to follow your chain of thought or what post you’re actually referring to.
I don’t know about your first language, but maybe telling you that english is not mine will help you comprehent that.but how about we just forget all this BS and get back to collection’s?:
I’m 100% sure nice friends and a good guild can accelerate the progress with collections significantly.
However, an average player who doesn’t have any experience in legendary journeys still won’t be able to finish said collections within a month. Even two months I highly doubt.
Also you have to remember:
Playing 10 hours straight will always be a lot more efficient than playing 5×2h.
I’ve quoted every post that I was referring to with the exception of the very first post of mine which was the fourth post in the thread after the OP’s, the post from somebody about the collection, and the OP’s response.
I did clearly state the mistake. It’s in the other part of the post that you dismissed earlier.
(edited by Ayrilana.1396)
If you want to continue the discussion about how much of a time sink the collections are, the original subject, then by all means do as I’m up for it. What I will not do is continue to feed someone more posts who appears to only want to troll.
…and you are already calling everyone not agreeing with your view “a troll”. Well done, really managed to get your point through
The troll part is in reference to thinking one knows what my post was referring to over me and despite me correcting them multiple times.
I stated multiple times to you that I was referring to collections which was what the OP was talking about. You insist that you know better than me on what I wrote. I corrected you several times and you still insist that you know better. This is what the “trolling” comment is referencing.

You are saying something different. Even though I’m sure you do unintentionally.
An entire legendary can be completed within 60 hours if you have the gold for everything and/or completed the time-gated crafting. However, the OP is complaining about the collection aspect. I suggest crafting them first before making judgements on how long it’ll take. Soon I’ll be crafting everything for the 10th HoT legendary so I believe I know what it takes to make them as I have personally done it.
In this post, you’re talking about “completing an entire legendary within 60hrs”. Everything after that either doesn’t make sense or has nothing to do with the topic.
If I have to hoard tons of gold and mats, and then need 60hrs in addition to complete the rest, I did not finish the entire legendary within 60hrs.
I hope you understand that. If not, arguing with you won’t bring us any further. Also, you’re talking about completing an entire legendary, while demanding everyone else to stay with just the collections. See the problem?
I hope we can really get back to just the collections now.
As I said before:
A casual gamer that plays <8h a week will definitely need several weeks, if not months, to finish the T3 collection. Especially if he doesn’t want to dedicate all of his time to just the collection, but also do some other stuff.
No I am not. I am talking about the collection.
Read the post that I was responding to. That’s right, it was yours. You brought up the entire legendary thing, not me.
The entire complaint was how it takes so long to do the collections when I stated it took only a few days when I did all four or them at once.
Everything else you just dismissed has everything to do with the topic as it is what the topic is actually about. It’s funny that you say that and then end your post about getting back to just the collections. So clearly you’ve understood the topic the entire time so I don’t see what you’re trying to accomplish here.
(edited by Ayrilana.1396)
~snip~
What you’re doing here is cherry picking various parts of their posts to fit your narrative. This will be the last time that I address you. I know full well what I was referring to with my post and this will have been the third time that I have told you but yet you continue to ignore that. For whatever reason you think that you know better what I was talking about. From this point on, I’m going to consider you to be just trolling.
I’ll break down their posts for you that led to my post and this will be the end of my discussion in that regard other than the actual subject that the OP brought up.
Is it just me or is the time sync to build one of these obscene? I don’t expect it to be easy but for us family folk dumping a few hundred hours for one item is a big ask.
I just started into Hope Tier 3 and looks like I have a few hundred hours to go. I am not a very efficient player in PvE which is probably contributing to the slog but looks like I could easily grind through 500 hours of game play much of which I have already done countless times before.
Whew… ehhh… guess I will shelve my progress for now and hope they one day allow us to earn some of the necessary components from WvW or sPvP. Might be time to consider outsourcing to my nephew.
In this post, you see the OP start off my talking about the time to craft legendary weapons. It can go either way at this point. The very next paragraph goes into what their actual issue is: collections. The complain about how much of a time grind the HOPE T3 collection is for them.
You then have their next post:
Just do a small amount of your collection each day in addition to your normal play and you will get there before you know it.
If I did an hour a day, every day and didn’t miss a day… I am guessing it would be 2019 before I got it. Seems strange the new legendaries have the money sink of the old ones (around 3k to craft) and a massive time sink. I can buy an older legendary for a what a new one costs to craft right out of the TP and not spend months cobbling together the parts.
Seems very excessive for one item that not every character can use. I cannot imagine what completionists do.
Take note of the post that the OP was responding to. It was about the collection. Imagine that….
If you read further into that post, the OP does bring up the monetary cost. Notice also that they distinguish between the monetary cost (money sink) and the collections (time sink). They’re treating the two as two separate things and not one of the same. They also referred to the new legendaries specifically when both have a money grind.
This is what my post was referring to which I have repeatedly tried to get across to you as well as tell you what the OP’s complaint was about. Still, you insist I’m saying something differently whether intentionally or unintentionally. I don’t know.
If you want to continue the discussion about how much of a time sink the collections are, the original subject, then by all means do as I’m up for it. What I will not do is continue to feed someone more posts who appears to only want to troll.
Any tips on how to do Precision Blade now? (I’m a Mesmer)
I’ve tried letting Anise get the agro, but if the enemies see me at all then I can’t break their agro (despite using OOW and Ash Legion Spy kits), and they hit so hard that it’s gg at that point.
Help!
Don’t aggro them. Before Shadow leaves, run to the other side of the room. When they move, run around the same direction they are to avoid aggro. Quickly revive a group of shining blade and then run again in the same direction they’re running to avoid aggro.
It won’t happen per Anet. I’ll try to find the post from them.
Read the OP’s posts as you’re taking my post out of context. They’re talking about the collections being so time consuming.
I would suggest you do the same.
OP is complaining about the time it takes to craft HoT legendaries, while you insist it takes no time at all once you already have gathered everything required to create one.
The actual time to get one of the HoT legendaries would involve maxing all the HoT masteries first, finishing all the HoT maps, getting tons of materials from each maps etcetc. Just because you had done all this before does not make the grind disappear for those who have not done any of these, and have no intention to do any of these for any other reason, just to finish off legendary. It is still all part of the process.
You claim it is very easy once all the difficult parts are done, and I agree, yet the problem is doing all those difficult and time consuming parts. Which you repeatedly want to avoid noticing.
Read their post again. They’re talking about collections with HOPE being the one they’re specifically speaking about.
You’re not understanding the context behind my post and changing what I said to include more than what was intended.
For example, a branched division in the guild for long-range players, and a different one for support, and a different one for melee. See what I’m saying? There can be so much more proper structuring, labeling, and re-labeling of things. It would make guilds less messy. Usually everyone in guilds just do their own thing, this would make guilds more legit and goal oriented.
I don’t understand the issue you hope to resolve by dividing a guild. What sort of structuring isn’t possible now using ranks or e.g. Discord? What things need labeling or re-labeling? How would this change the essential 5000+-year old fundamentals of organizing communities of humans?
Lol not dividing a guild, just divisions within the guild to create organization. Basically more guild options to personalize your guild and organize it.
Kind of like guild ranks.
Lol I JUST answered that question. Scroll up to see my response to that.
I saw your response but you didn’t really answer what the difference was between guild ranks and what you’re trying to do.
Guild ranks “create divisions within a guild for organization”.
no please don’t let there be a graphic overhaul :< my ancient old pc wouldn’t be able to handle it! T__T even now i struggle to get a stable 60 fps at all ..
and my pc doesn’t support anything higher than a dx9.
Besides the current graphics in gw2 are good!
it’s only those with super highend pcs that want the overhaul because they can afford it!
but the fact is that Anet developed the game this way with both mid end and low end pcs in mind! so everybody could play it decently even on old pcs! so don’t be selfish and only think of yourselves and your highend computers!
well look at it from this point of view . if that does happen as a lot of us players want given the even more fact 4K is pretty normal these days for main use standards .
should this game get too much to play at least you can play wow. that is if they do not upgrade their low end specs yet again in the next pack they will put out . and wow is not that bad at all nor is ESO too both are very fun games . as well as this one
You’re basing the bolded on what?

LS3 maps are the fastest.
I always asked who is willing to pay almost 10 bucks for a bank tab. Well, here you go.
I bought all of them, and pretty much everything else, with gold. For all we know, the OP did the same too.
Perhaps the OP can describe their problem first so that their solution makes more sense?
If you plan on doing multiple characters then I suggest unlocked whichever episodes from LS3 that you do not have. You can trade those map currencies in for ascended trinkets which allow you to choose the stat prefix.
Read the OP’s posts so that you understand what my post was about. You’re taking what I said out of context. Thanks.
Okay, then let’s go back to the time consuming collection’s.
You say, they can be completed in 60hrs.
Also you said, you completed four of them in one weekend.
So even if completing four collections at once takes the same amount of time as completing only one (which I highly doubt, even if there are some overlaps), that means for you one weekend = 60hrs of gameplay?Don’t get me wrong, I’m absolutely not judging you for that. I’m just saying maybe you’re not really the same type of player as the OP, so telling us how many legendaries you already crafted doesn’t change the fact that players who are actually comparable to the OP might need several hundred h of gameplay within >1year.
Another thesis by me:
you are the one exaggerating ^^but since I haven’t crafted a legendary myself yet, I’m gonna show myself the way out now.
I’m not exaggerating. I compiled the tasks for all four collections into a spreadsheet and then organized them in such a way that I wouldn’t be hopping back and forth between maps. I also bolded those that were on a timer, such as world bosses, and kept those from fractals together. I also had them grouped by phase as some collection items can’t be done until you completed something else in that collection.
It was all about being efficient as there’s a bit of overlap between them and hopping back and forth maps wastes time. It helps to craft one as then you’ll understand how many of them take no time at all. For example, the gift for Nevermore with the raven has a ton to do but they’re incredible quick as you just go place to place and interact with a raven.
