I ran for 2 years to get the fractal sword, I just finally got it 3 weeks ago, and I got 2 more drop in the next 5 fracs after that. unreal.

Robert left last year and he was indeed the head of the dungeon team, but as you can see, he didnt design them too well anyway (if that was indeed his role). We need new dungeons, its getting so stale

Keep getting defenders and healers chests, can prob make 1 or 2 full celestial sets right now. I have one full celest set for my ele but I dont use it really. What are you guys using celest for? im thinking about making another warrior just for WVW and running celestial on it

Well ive tried many avenues of contact with no luck… ive almost given up hope. Not sure where I can go from here

I hated leveling Mesmer, Ranger and Ele. I loved leveling Guardian Warrior Thief and Necro, all were super easy. Engi was a mixed bag, I actually played 1-79 using all condis and having fun learning how everything worked taking my time, and then went full zerk when I hit 80. Engi was a learning experience for me, I enjoyed it, but I dont think I could level another. On the flip side, Mesmer became my main (now ex-main, bad divorce as of 4/15/14) and Ranger Ele and Engi are my fav classes

I was in multiple games yesterday, I noticed the pvp buff, wasn’t sure if the WTS tournament was going on and I asked a lot of people when the WTS is going to happen, like what day what time, etc.

Nobody had a clue about when the WTS was going to happen.

Goes to show AGAIN the marketing team for GW2 is slacking.

If this game isn’t esports, if you had low twitch views less than 3k (on main twitch channel) like you always have, its not per say the streamer’s fault, this is an official GW2 tournament, its the GW2 marketing department fault.

I was looking forward to watching this tournament, but the way the marketing team of GW2 operates, I have to literally go out of my way to figure out when the dang thing happens. I even come to the forums and active member on it and I still didn’t know the exact time.

There’s a lot of slacking going on if you ask me. They need to hire some proactive managers to get those developers and marketing team start doing there jobs at the highest level possible. Not a, we gonna release a piece of crap and fix it by whoever complains type matchmaking/patch/new system, and a I’m going to send a tiny message some random place about the WTS (not gonna bother with getting more of the target market, just want whoever I have already and those who look intensely to figure out when its actually going down), after that, going to go eat me some donuts and sit back and watch some Netflix.

Annoyed that I didn’t get to see this, and I actually had time off and was able to watch this, but…. NOTHING, no communication to me about when its going down.
Was in game yesterday, saw the buff, actively was on forums yesterday, YET I didn’t see or hear or even nobody I asked knew WTS was going down.

See the pics, I asked, none of them knew, I asked in hotm as well, nobody knew.
Now I just realized reviewing those pictures angrily because I missed the WTS due to bad GW2 marketing team, that it does say WTS at top right.

Funny, I never even noticed that stuff yesterday because that’s like a spam area, nothing but a bunch of spam up there, the only thing I really pay attention to is the daily. I don’t really pay attention to that LS or spam area.

They should have sent you a mail, even that is spam area. They should have had some major thing dead smack in everyones way saying WTS and what time its going to be and where. They should have made it spam across peoples screen as they first enter into the game. They should have made a sticky on the PvP forums about it. They should have informed you on the forums and made you click an okay button to show that you know its going on before you can do anything on the forums.

So many things the marketing team could have done, but they didn’t. They didn’t ask themselves HOW BAD DO YOU WANT GW2 to be successful. Obviously by there show of how bad they want it, they didn’t want it bad enough.

I agree with this 100%. This game has the worst marketing ive ever seen, for a successful game. I had to search far and wide to find anyone that even knew about the matches going on. GW2 needs to market its PVP on sites like ign and other forums because it would attract more people to watch and to play. Its annoying that this game has SOOO much going for it and its constantly being tripped over by their own feet

orc. dont care how much it doesnt fit into the lore, just give them an island and some boats and boom they came here out of nowhere. I love Orcs for some reason, dont need elves, dont need dwarves… just good ol fashion orcs.

Shameless nitpicking, but Sauron used a large mace, not a hammer. So if you want to be Sauron as a necro, you’d need to be able to use a mace.

More shamless nitpicking,

Sauron wasn’t a necro. He was a demi-god (of sorts), and had access to all sorts of powers. However he was strongest in manipulation and dominance, so if anything he was more akin to a mesmer then a necro.

OT: Yes! A hammer necro could actually be really cool. I would tie it in to a minion master though, having it summon low level minions with the various skills. That could be fun, albeit completly broken, but fun nonetheless.

I have often thought servers should have a Memory Wall, just a place where former players names could be listed it could even include NPCs if the Devs liked. It doesn’t sound hard to put together at least not to me.

well, I have his online obituary, article of his death, and more. I fully expected that it could be questioned so im prepared. Obviously its not something I want to just post and such, but if its possible and thats what is required, its not an issue. Plus his mother would be absolutely THRILLED! (she has his character on her facebook, so awesome)

Thank you guys! His mom has been trying to log into his GW2 account to contact people on his friends list. It was really satisfying finding her and talking to her. Shes a great woman and he was a great great guy. GW2 meant a lot to him.

Im not exactly sure how to go about this, and its a bit of a lengthy post so ill try to cut it as short as I can.
A guild mate of mine and someone I played with for a very, very long time, is no longer with us. Sadly he passed away and I found out months later. He didnt log on for quite awhile and after months of stalking and such, I found out from his mother that my buddy passed away at his college. I was devastated and it still bothers me. I was wondering if theres anyway his toon or account name or something could get a grave stone in game? His mother was aware of how much he loved GW2 and even knew about me and other guildies which I thought was awesome. This may be a far fetched or weird request but its just something thats been on my mind for awhile. That is all, happy (30 min past but whatever) Thanksgiving.

His main characters name was/is Cee Pee, and his alt was/is Captain Platypus and Its Me Cee Pee. If anyone out there ever ran into him on TC, know that he loved this community like we were his real life friends. Again, thanks for reading, gnite.

Moving would change everything. Lmao.

You could cripple people and basically whirling axe on their face, and them unable to retaliate with projectiles. You could also be able to move out of AoE and still keep the reflect going.

Incin is bad kitten . I made bolt and was happy, but I always liked the fractal sword more. I jut FINALLY got the frac sword and I Feel weird now, because bolt is “legendary” but I prefer the frac sword…

only frac skins im missing are the dagger, GS, Shield and shortbow. I have done3-4 frac runs a day for almost 2 years. its absolutely absurd how long it takes to get these things. that is all.

4 fractals a day, never been kicked. youre either playing very badly (in other peoples opinion) or youre somehow offending them

So according to this report, Guild Wars 2 is making $5,968,222 per month…roughly anyway.

Seems pretty good for a two year old game without an expansion…to me anyway.

aion is way older, lineage 1 is way older. Its doing as well as blade and soul virtually which has started off with a lot less numbers.

If anet hadnt reached so many people it would be doing ok, but it started high and has consistently sunk this year. blade and soul for example, has been generally stable. Whereas say a blade and soul can still hope to expand, gw2 has basically gotten and lost all of those customers. They wont get most of them back unless they give them something substantial.

B&S is a subscription based game. It has recently expanded into Japan but it’s Korean income hasn’t been stellar. Of course this excludes the royalties from China. Royalties they pointed out as “decreased royalty sales from B/S China” in this report.

B&S had a three month head start on GW2 and even if we exclude GW2’s incredible 4Q12 income (so B&S has roughly 6 months more income), GW2 still earned 24.5% more than B&S. Not bad for a subscription free game over it’s lifetime.

L1 was South Korea’s UO and AION their WoW. And until this quarter AION’s numbers had been steadily falling. TTM AION’s income was still less than ours. And like B&S, over 80% of AION’s income, excluding royalties, is from Korea.

I’m not ready to put on my DOOOOOOM!!! hat for $6.4 million USD per month (average exchange rate for 3rd quarter was 1023.19 KrW per 1$), equivalent to 427 to 534 thousand subscriptions worth (at $12-15 a month) of income. Again, not bad for a free to play after purchase game.

Its so rare to see someone know what theyre talking about, especially with the UO talk. GW2 is doing amazing; its been out for 2 years with no expansion, and during its release its gone aginst ESO, WS, and FF14. Three major releases, one of them under the same publisher, and a FF which has a huge dedicated fan base. No sub fee, no expansion, and still doing well? When they FINALLY release an expansion, it will bring a lot of old players back

can we atleast just get the simple fix for now? if you have a back piece equipped and have it showing, make it so engi backpacks simply dont appear at all, only the back piece shows. If theres no back item selected to be on, let the engi backpack show. its that simple

please PLEASE PLEASE buff ranger longbow. if anything, make rapid fire stronger. make it last longer and hit harder. The more people that play this way the better. Rapid fire is a beast and it can kill anyone, but thats where it stops. You need to be zerker and traited in power and precision for it to matter. ANYTHING to keep people from playing condi ranger is fine by me, those are the true threat

Why I dont see humans as warriors is because Warriors are supposed to be masters of combat and martial arts, I dont see how a human can compete with Norn and Charr. Sylvari are even physically more tough. Asura lore wise have tech that allowed them to compete with physically superior enemies due to their technologically advanced armor and weapons. Humans? hmmm

bomb kit doesnt have the highest dps auto attack, the meta engi pve build doesnt even use bomb kit.
