the gods will bless you
title says it all. im sitting on about 900 skill points. what to do?
They aren’t gods, they’re aliens. They come from another world and the dragons and whoop them down. Not gods at all
Anise is a spy for a higher power not related to the dragons I think.
There are a lot of new things that an expansion can deliver to the core game
- Player housing
- GvG
- New races
- New classes
- New weapons for each class
- New utility and elite skills
- New crafting disciplines
- Raids
- Massively expand WvW, new structures,siege weapons,etc.
- New continent
- Expand the personal story
- Guild halls
- Level cap increase
- Player ships and sailing, sea based zones
- New dungeons
- No reason why this couldn’t come via Living Story or just a generic patch.
- They’re already talking about a CDI on GvG. Also does not need an expansion to implement.
- Could be easily delivered via Living Story. In fact, I’d expect them to have planned that from the start.

- Could be easily delivered via Living Story. In fact, I’d expect them to have planned that from the start.
- We’ve already gotten healing skills in patches tied to the Living Story so I see no reason why there would be any need for an expansion to add skills.
- They’ve been adding crafting recipes and expanding crafting in general (Ascended crafting, revamping the crafting interface) without an expansion so far.
- They’ve done dungeons and revamped world bosses with ties to Living Story, no reason they couldn’t do this as well as it’s practically identical in terms of gameplay.
- They’ve already changed WvW plenty (adding WvW skills and traps, changing the maps) without needing an expansion.
- They’ve already added new areas via Living Story so there’s no need for an expansion to add areas.
- Living Story is an extension of Personal Story.
- How are guild halls different from player housing?
- They should never, ever, increase the level cap for any reason. Increasing the level cap would make all non-Legendary gear obsolete, which would cause a massive shift in the TP, not to mention kittening off everyone who’s spent time getting Ascended gear.
- I don’t think this is that kind of game.
- They’ve already tinkered with dungeons via Living Story, what makes you think they would need an expansion to do it?
From the looks of it, everything that you think they should put into an expansion they have already experimented with via Living Story or could easily do without an expansion. Expansions are a risk, because it would force all of the current players to re-consider whether they want to keep playing the game and it makes the bar for new players even higher. It’s not exactly news that the bar of entry to a game like World of Warcraft, with their heptillion expansions, is very high due to the costs and hassle of getting them all. And I have to say that one of the best things about GW2 is that you play it whenever you want to. There’s no gear treadmill making your stuff obsolete every 6 months and there’s no monthly subscription.
What an expansion does that Living Story cannot do, is hype the product outside of the current playerbase. Living Story is perfectly capable of delivering everything that an expansion can give, but it doesn’t cost anything for the players except time.
Your response is silly to the point that I think you’re joking or trolling. Of course the living story can deliver all of these things no one ever said it couldnt. The point is that it’s not. The LS isn’t creating g excitement in terms of bringing people back or buildin anticipation. When you receive an expansion in large chunks. It’s about anticipation. Wow players know a year in advance what the expansion is going to be and then wait another year to play it. Anet leaves us in the dark and we really don’t know what direction they will go with anything. We have traits and features broken since launch that no one has bothered to look at or fix. We have a guardian class with a worth less shield and the community has come up with many ways to improve it and it’s never been considered publicly. Living story can do things, it’s just not done in a fashion that’s benefitting.
I agree, Azure. My ranger does best in SW…my ele does less well, and I have tried my necro and warrior…but my Ranger works best.
I feel that ranger is the supreme ruler of SW. My only gripes are my pet getting so much aggro it slows me down and when I keep it on guard and fight wolves it takes longer to kill them melee. Silly complaints but if I had to pick something that’s it. Now my necro with dagger and axe I can melee basically everything in SW. Flesh golem doesn’t seem to aggro things and just attack what I attack plus even with zerkerning Ave access to enough condis for husks. I really like that my necro has a place in pve
Yea SW is the only place u don run my ele. I’ve found my ranger and necro to be the best classes to farm there by far
You were pointed at several guides that are both very good and very specific. I find it hard to believe you made this build based on what you could have learned from those guides.
Greatsword is worthless in the vast majority of dungeons and fotm. There are a couple niche encounters where it can be used, but it’s generally worthless. It deserves a spot in your inventory just in case, not a slot in your build.
Why do you have mirror images? What possible benefit are you expecting to gain from that utility?
Why would you go just 5 points into domination? Wastrels punishment is an awful trait, and it’s not like that one point doesn’t have another very strong place for it (illusions X).
Why would you take deceptive evasion in a phantasm pve build?
You’re using 5 runes of the Mesmer and 1 ruby orb? You couldn’t find any runes that gave a good 6-set bonus (like pack, ranger, strength, scholar)?
The build isn’t complete and total garbage, but it’s not good at all. I’m honestly confused as to how you could come up with that after reading the guides you were pointed towards.
I’m not normally this exceedingly negative about a random build, but you specifically asked for the optimal build in your post. Optimal for Mesmer is not something that’s particularly variable or uncertain. There is an optimal build or two, and they are used by every single dungeon Mesmer that wants to play optimally. Your build is nowhere close to any of them.
This. Please reread and use links posted
4 should have a slightly lower cd, do more damage and have a 300 knockback. 5 should work as it does now with a lower cd and blast. Also it should stack regeneration
Strength is easy for me. Mantras. Mop dodge rolls into staff 2 3 shatter then mop again has caused people to hate me in wvw and pvp forever.
Weakness is even easier, the April 14th patch
Our minions look like garbage, literally
If I only played 3 classes I’d die from being so bored. You are seriously selling yourself short. I play all 8 classes. I have 2 warriors, 3 necros, 2 guards, 3 eles, and a single of the rest everythin at 80 except one necro. Building tools with different themes is half the fun. If I played this game this long and never tried engi I’d be a fool imo
we did something like this near launch, but new skins and faces and such are out now so lets do it again! I want to see some look video game/ fantasy look alikes! My old thief had the easy sub – zero / scorpion look but its time for something new. Anyone have anything? lets make a list
since we’re unpopular and we dont get good buffs lets just work on looking cool so people play us anyway.
Sword, Shield, Greatsword.
Change the skins on minions, make one a ghost or something along those lines, give us some skeleton warrior instead of flesh golem.
Stopped rea ding at engi having low damage. Laughed myself a good one
blizzard already released their expansion pack and is announcing the next one in november. FF14 already announced theirs and its coming out around june. EQN will not be any more popular than Wild Star. ESO basically failed. FF14 is actually doing better than GW2 AND its already added 2 classes and announced its expansion. So, if theyre waiting for something, its for someone to play something else.
dudes… come on. its for the better, all it does is effect a few games in hotjoin and who cares. Its a way for people to use their favorite class one day and try out pvp and be like you know what I like this. whatever. stop complaining about EVERYTHING. merry xmas
Don’t be worried about fractals. All good playeRd especially in grav know how good engis are. Ele is my baby but engi has basically become my main and I’ve never had a problem getting a party ever. I’ve also nev we seen a no engi in lfg. I’ve actually seen more no mesmer. Engi is a boss class that the average person can’t play simply cuz the heal is complicated and there’s no 1 melee auto attack to kill everything
It was on sale not that long ago
Lol I feel so bad self promoting myself, but whatever >.>
My condition build, which is similair to the one nexed posted:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKpvyfy-6u8swap sigils and utility skills around to your liking

btw man youre really good I cant wait to I Get to this level… I will
I just went one on one with a ranger that I couldnt hurt at all… swordx something and just owned me. im still learning though. really enjoying necro
hey so I gave this a whirl and I love it, def doing better than I do on other classes except for engi. Are there any vids out there?
Thank you kind sir. You have informed me that I should stop running around with my speed and loot weapon in open world, on a slow (mostly) melee class, to farm a small, chaotic map where events come and go in the blink of an eye.

Just for reference, many Guardians use burning for damage, not direct damage, so the Staff will have the highest chances of proccing upgraded Virtue of Justice. There is absolutely no requirement in open world to rely on direct damage, to run around in Berserker, Assassin or Rampager builds, and to use optimal weapons.
People play in the way that is easiest for them. It is not hurting you. Any pain that you feel as a result of their playing style is a placebo effect.
Between this and bell choir elitism, I have now seen it all …
Any guarain that relies on burning damage against mobs I’d actually lowering group damage for everyone. Also we ate discussing the staff in silverwaste not every map. The enemies don’t drop loot there except the animals and scorps. Therefore tagging is not important on that map, it’s about helping out the warring areas. Upscaling the enemy while doing no damage and destroying more powerful burns is down right disrespectful
sup guys, ive just recently really been focusing on getting better at pvp, I Didnt even really acknowledge or care about the rewards to be honest… until now. So, I know there is a daily limit on how many tiers you can get on a reward track using custom game/ hot join, but is it a total of tiers/points altogether, or can I get two tiers PER track? so if I max out getting points on one, can I hop to another? ty in advance
I agree, staff guardians in SW are worthless and annoying
Will this EVER come back? I got it as a reward back in 2012 but over time lost it. It never came back with the wardrobe change, but my GW2 cap and Wizard cap did which is weird.
ascended trinkets are absolutely kittenedly absurd to obtain so yes jeweling needs to happen
give us sword and shield thanks
i played a ele for a long time and i like how he can:
-Deal large amounts of constant aoe dmg
-can deal bleeding or burning if i wish to go condi
-can use fire and water fields and blast them himself multiple times (tho water fields is more important for me)
-can support and keep NPCs alive
-can remove conditions.
-is sought out for in dungeonscould any experienced engineer tell me if a engineers have anything in common with the things i mentioned for the ele?
PS : I know eles can do more than just the things i said here, but the stuff i mentioned here is what i find most fun and amusing when playing a ele. And hopefully i can find these things in a engineer as well.
PPS: I play pve mostly and sometimes WvW (staff ele)
basically described the engi except for condi clear, but we do have some decent condi clear once you learn the rotations and kits. Ele was my main forever, still kinda is, but Engi is prob my fav class nowdayz
The rage is compounded by the fact that rangers are one of — if not the best — skirmishing classes, so despite people considering us wastes of spots for 2 years, we would wind up easily killing people in small scale fights, which produced some cognitive dissonance. “Stupid ranger that can’t kill anything and is stupid just kicked the hell out of me.”
this is all you need to read, for it is the truth
Another advantage to using warrior is that a LOT of people arent informed about them and just roll warrior/guardian all day. Many, maaany people think Warrior is the highest dps class for pve/wvw/pvp and you will absolutely stomp them
McWolfy has literally never played a ranger in his life, OP, ignore what he’s writing.
This, also Ranger is great in pvp. The problem with Ranger in pvp is that people tend to play power ranger due to the insane damage of the longbow but in reality ranger is better in long sustained fights using conditions and being a hybrid. Condi/hybrid Ranger have been, and always will be, a hard fight for any class
Teq is legit 10x the dragon Zhaitan ever was. I hope one day they change that zhaitan battle; make it a fractal or something and just change it completely
I didnt see this, this is verrry interesting
got chest on level 49
did level 38
3 of us did not get daily chest, dunno about the other two as they dropped right after mai trin met my rifle.
I demand a fractal dagger because I DEF would have gotten it this run
paul walker fans only
jus did level 49 and got chest.
did level 38, did not get chest.
nice thanks guys
I want to get into pvp since its the reason I bought the game 2 years ago yet I rarely do it. I use mostly ele engi and condi ranger for pvp the rare times I do but ive decided I like pain and want to be a necro. Whats a good set up? I prefer condis but ill play anything good
the jewel is awful imo
Ranger – Frontline (Celestial GS)
Good damage / Higher survivability
http://tinyurl.com/kwqr3thNeed I say more?
This build seems interesting but wouldnt short bow be better? Also does this work in wvw and pva or just pvp
Why rangers want pistols and rifles is beyond me. The longbow is probably the best ranged power wep and short bow is great for medium hybrid and conditions pressure. What could rifle or pistol do

Whirling wrath does more damage as a male sylvari and human. This bug was around at launch and was under the impression it was fixed but it’s not as per testing on the Guardian forum and then done myself. I know these forums are completely dead but can something be done about this itsubject been years
wvw is alive and kicking where I am, but im also on Tarnished Coast sooo
3821 hours. I had one drop about 20 hours into the game, from jormag, 5 minutes after I turned level 80. It was zap and I sold it for 20g having no idea what I was doing. Since then ive gotten nothing, except that i bought zap from the TP for 710g later.
Can you please post this in the general forum so it can be seen
1 – 3-5 melee cleave. 3rd hit causes chill.
2 – 3-5 melee power attack lIke maul. Does damage based on life force.
3 – aoe drain that drains enemy he but is converted to life force. Last hit of drain grants 6 sec protection and stability.
4 – well that gives aoe retaliation and destroys projectiles.
5 – ranged cripple attack, single target. Causes torment on moving targets, immo on non moving
I agree. I think fishing is logical, now that I think about it im a bit shocked its not in the game
best game ever. people complain people cry im one of them and im still here. see you when you log in
