Oh no, I’ll agree with many points, just in the end I’ll always stick to gw2. I cried and complained on the ranger forum for a year until I quit ranger because I’ve hated every ranger change anet ever made. I know what’s right and wrong and a lot of times I feel we push anet way too hard. All I’m saying is I think the pricing is fair, but 50 dollars and no new slot isn’t fair to the fans

I defend anet til my last breath and I’m fine with the expansion price but I’m going to say the 50 dollar version should have an extra character slot. People are crying and all but they are right about this one thing. Many people who play this game don’t have time to grind gold to buy gems to get a slot. Also a lot of people are just absolutely awful at the game and play and are way too lazy to buy the slot. Please change this. Ty

Do people really say this? I could see some people being so silly as to think this is a good argument, but this is the only one that is objectively bad. Code can be changed, it just takes some time. What’s true is that we haven’t seen these changes fully implemented yet so we won’t know how it will work in game, but if they need to change something later on then it is do-able.

No, not enough people say that. Thats why the forums are toxic and full of crying whining people that claim to quit everyday and then post 2 days later.

I will be using the same traits. I want to run a few things by though and see what you and others think.

First id use Tormenting runes instead of perplexity. The 6 on it imo is better, and I think torment will be easier to stack and more damaging. Also the sigils, ill run Bursting and Tormenting on staff, Earth and Bursting on scepter/pistol. I would use a Givers scepter, but theres no ascended givers weapon. I still may use an exotic, because the 10% condi duration is extremely nice. I think an ascended giver set will come soon anyway.

Mantra of Resole over blink, imo, I dont think we need blink especially with staff 2. I think with Chaos storm becoming easier to pump out, iduelist will put plenty of confusion on enemies anyway so I would focus on mass torment especially from what I saw in the BETA of HoT enemies move much much more.

A gear treadmill is when new gear comes out that makes old gear obsolete. This didn’t happen. It’s the same gear that’s been here for about 2 years.

Ascended gear has been out so long how could you possibly want to play in exotics? What do you guys do in this game??? I’ve gotten 5 ascended sets just from playing and crafted 4. Not to mention they throw the trinkets at you. Full exotic set takes a handful of tokens gold or badges to get. A set of ascended gear takes at most s month to make if you don’t play that often, less if you’re not buying mini pets from the gem store. Wow

Welcome to Tyria! I’ve been playing since beta. Recently I’ve been playing ff14 while waiting for the new gw2 expansion and I have to say gw2 has changed my view on mmos forever. I’m enjoying ff14 but it lacks builds and the game is small. There’s only one way to play every Class in that gsmr, which I never thought anything of in other mmos until gw2. You will see a lot of doom and gloom on the forums because we are a select group of people that love this game but voice our frustrations mostly due to waiting for certain things, namely an expansion l, for so long. Once this game starts rolling with living world content again you’ll really enjoy yourself

For the phantasm vs not phantasms: I’m basing it off of how precision vs crit chance or power vs % increases work. Ferocity is a base stat that affects phantasms. However, I don’t think something that increase crit damage will affect phantasms. The wording on the trait mentions a % increase to damage so I’m skeptical of it affecting phantasms.

Something like this with the new mender’s purity would make power return count as 2 mantra buff charges because it’s activating power cleanse as well. I think you guys are looking at this wrong. If you do “nothing” but spam mantra of pain, it’s only 33% of your time dedicated to channeling while you can still activate phantasms/other skills while discharging. That alone maintains 4 stacks. I just need 1 extra mantra discharged every 8 seconds. I don’t need to spam MoD for that. Just 1 interrupt discharge every 8 seconds is reasonable. 3 charges would last me 24 seconds. Regardless of if the heal gives 1 or 2 charges, discharging it once every 8 seconds also lasts 24 seconds. You could easily maintain 5 stacks while charging MoR or MoD once every 24 seconds. If you want to frontload it, hit MoD, MoR and MoP at the same time for 4 instant stacks. 1 second later, it’s 5. You can still spam all the weapon skills while discharging and most fights are done before you even need to recharge MoP.

Turning MoP into an auto attack (ctrl right click) makes it a lot less tedious to use. If you time interrupts properly, this can actually make MoP cycle in 4.8 seconds (1.8 charge3 sec discharge). 3/4.8 = .625 that you need to solo maintain 5 stacks with MoP.

As I mentioned above, MoP and MoD+ Halting strike hits 5 enemies while auto attacks hit 1 or 3. With the HoT beta and the groups of mobs I ran into, that’s a big deal. Could also be used as a WvW backline that basically gives aoe healing that is 20% stronger than healing signet with just MoP.

The biggest issue I have with this trait buff is that it’s so PvE dungeon focused. The ferocity really benefits critical hits on reflect damage and builds that have banner of D+ fury+ assassins/berserker to make use of the buff 100% of the time. Making the buff last 10-12 seconds and give % increase to power instead of ferocity would help a lot and I don’t think it would break PvP. Alternatively, make it so that each mantra discharge refreshes the duration for the entire stack. So 1 mantra discharge every 8 seconds is enough to keep 5 stacks that are built up.

I kinda like this though. Let the Rev be the defense class, Guardian really isn’t anyway. It’s a high dps Class that excels and mitigating damage for those around it.

What’s funny is that my alternate chart mesmer runs around with the Firebringer sword and mad memories back piece and people constantly whisper me about them. I feel they’re both pretty common

Once you get used to the Naga buttons and hitting 1-9 becomes muscle memory, this simple setup gives you instant access to every keybind you need.

You are still left with extra buttons on the mouse as well which you could bind to whatever you like, but I personally find the Naga buttons 10-12 a bit awkward to reach for so I don’t use them for anything that needs to be activated fast.

This makes the most sense to me. I’m going to try something like this tmrw ty

I started playing mmo swith Dark Sun and Ultima Online. After UO I attempted other MMOS but none held my interest. Finally after more than a decade I found gw2 and I’ve never been so satisfied from a game. You won’t find a more caring community than this one. this game wont ever be on steam. Its already sold over 7 million copies and counting, it doesnt need it and NCSoft doesnt want their games on there unless they have too.

Avoid the Ranger, its a great class, but the simple way to play it will teach you things that arent good for groups. When you get better at the game the Ranger will open up to you and youll understand what we mean now.

Race means nothing besides look, personally I have something of every race. I some reason love sylvari these days but I always switch.
