I would much rather F5 not exist and it just replace one of the existing ones.
F5 is just too far down my keyboard to comfortably reach and even though i have a billion mouse buttons remapping is a pain in the kitten . I rarely use distortion anyhow, 4 seconds of distortion never seems worth it and the recharge is immense.
I use RFCXZ… any of the Function buttons are too out fo place for me. XD
Not really. You’ll be behind in masteries and thus won’t be raid ready when you first get it, but Halloween will put a damper on a lot of player’s progress (including mine) for the first two weeks. Wintersday won’t be too much longer after that.
^This. HoT will be on the back burner for me till Halloween is finished. I love Halloween in GW/GW2. If, and this is a big if, I get all the achievements and get everything I want, and do all of the GW Halloween quests, then I might start early. But I’ll probably just play Halloween till it’s done. Winters day, yeah I skip that most years. Can’t say.it has the wow factor for me. Wintersday in GW is so much better.
D: Those daily laurels though. Wintersday doesn’t have the same awesomeness that Halloween does, but I do like doing the dailies and farming Bell Choir.
A disappointment with the core classes

The core classes did get something… an elite spec.
Guys this will probably be fixed after the release of HoT, once the devs aren’t frantically trying to stop the game crashing every time someone says “trinity”.
I wish I had your optimism. We must never let this thread die until the animations we all want are restored. It’s clear that we are the majority over those that complained about them in the first place. The demand for these animation will not go away.

People are upset over worlds firsts? Its not a trackable stat and you get nothing special for it… and a year from now, an overwhelming majority will not remember or care. People are acting like something is being stolen from them… how about play the raid for your own enjoyment and loot that everyone else has access to whether you finish 1st for 3400th?
How is the legendary journey more of a grind than the current system? I’ve been “grinding” for 1500 hours and haven’t seen Dusk yet. At least this system has a definite start and finish. It beats doing shovel train everyday so you can give another player your gold.
Probably. Just make an ascended dagger and transmute the skin. The stats will be the same as your legendary.
Druid is just giving Ranger a support roll… elite specs are giving other classes more flexibility. The fact that they are not increasing group buffs to 10 indicates that classes considered “selfish” won’t be shunned and may even be needed for tanking or aggro pulling. Stacking is gone.
I bet I can burn a scapper into the ground in under 3 seconds.
My Star of Gratitude gave me my one and only precursor… I don’t believe the OP.
Oh, Ten Ton Hammer didn’t have the exclusive reveal this time? What a surprising turn of events. I wonder what happened there.
They didn’t reconcile Scrapper with Hammer, apparently.
Oh well, having a teeheesilly name doesn’t always get you positive attention, apparently.Today’s article was a bit sparse, though. I’ll be glad to wait for tomorrow for an actual in-depth review. >_>
That definitely is not the reason. XD
I’m hoping that Druid does for Ranger what Reaper is doing for Necro. Ranger has always been one of my favorite alts, and I really want the elite spec to be amazing.
Remove rooting skills on LB… c’mon! We’re the most mobility-challenged class in the game. The only way we can get decent mobility is to fill up our utility skills… which is useless… I want to cringe every time someone says “Guards have permaswiftness”.
Add a 25% speed boost while using LB to a trait plz.
Thr OP is a Ele main that just posts about nerfing Necro and Mesmer. /thread
This is a troll post. DS has more dps than RS. RS also burns up faster.

New combat music system incoming
Sounds like a L2P issue to me. I wouldn’t be opposed to nerfing vet smokescale mobs, but outside of that, everything should stay the same.
Especially since Terragrifs have bad visual-effect cues on how wide their actual attack is.
This is my main annoyance, their attack breadth is almost to wide to dodge roll out of, should be the same width as the visual wind swirl.
Not only that, but it doesn’t seem like a knockdown and more like a vortex that sucks you back in so you can take massive damage while fave planted.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/hot/New-combat-music-system-POI/first#post5457115
here is the post about it.
Game is pretty much set on support. Druid just needs to bring extremely high dps, which it likely won’t.
Or will it?!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It’s a place holder. It’s a beta. In the last POI episode they explained that the new combat music will be more complex based on how fights escalate and dissipate.
It seems like ages to get any experience

Events are the best way to level up your mastery. The issue is that since its a beta, and only part of the map, you are limited in how many events you can do. During night time, keep finding supply runners to escort to camp sites. Its the most quickly repeatable event you can do.
Because then people could convert gold to gems to buy the expansion. They are a company they do require real money at somepoint to keep producing updates.
You do know that every gem you buy with gold is a gem some other player purchased with real money and converted into gold, right? Gold-to-gem conversion isn’t magically producing gems out of thin air – you’re selling your gold in a marketplace to people with gems, who have in turn given money to ArenaNet for those gems.
You do know that every gem you buy with gold doesn’t generate any revenue for ANet — as you correctly stated, ANet already received the money for those gems from someone else.
- In the current scenario, person A buys 5,336 gems for US$69 and converts it to gold, giving person B 4,000 gems (since 15% is sunk via fees from each transaction). Player B also buys the expansion for US$50. Net revenue for ANet: $119.
- In the fantasy universe in which gems are usable to buy the expansion, person A buys 5,336 gems for US$69 and person B gets 4,000 gems, with which they purchase the expansion. Net revenue for ANet: $69.
tl;dr ANet loses a considerable source of revenue if they allow people to use gems to purchase the expansion.
This. “somebody else bought the gems with real money” isn’t an excuse for a gold farmer to get it for free by conversion.
Why Anet did u made mobs easier . WHY!!

There is something wrong with the AI, the boss Diamond something (amazing artwork and design) simply stayed still while 15 toons where dropping massive bursts.Didn’t try to attack or negate some damage just stayed there holding its massive great sword.
I think this is a bug. The first time I encountered him he wiped the whole zerg with that ultra LB barrage attack. I was highly impressed… but the next time I fought him, what you posted happened…. he just stood there and melted, he started walking slowly at one point, but he never attacked back.
As far as enemies being easier, I don’t think that is the case. It has more to do with the enemy types. The Hylek or whatever they are just different, they still hit hard, but they are slow and clunky. There are far less smokescales on this map. The mushroom thingys still hit hard. There were dead bodies everywhere during the metal scrap section of the Faren event chain where mushrooms were everywhere. The Mordrem snipers still hit really hard… there are just a lot less of those enemy types this BWE.
(edited by BIGHARSHNESS.3510)
I’m not getting any dodge delay.
I can pull off 14-15k hits with GD, and maintain 3k-5k crits with the other GS skills. I hit a 30k crit on the Wyrven… GS is pretty beastly for PvE. The improvements to Grasping Darkness and Nightfall from the first BWE are a outstanding.
Ah, I was wondering what happened…. This also happens to the NPCs in Silverwastes when you give them rubble. They are clearly Charr… and they say “Some must fight, so others may live” in Charr voice, and then say “THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!” in human voice… I always thought that was odd.
I prefer the difficulty, otherwise the area would get as boring as the core game’s open world. The chain events don’t melt down super fast and there are a lot of champ bags rewarded for the more difficult content. I think everything is in a good place as it is.
Its on the loading screen… its not hurting anything. If it was during gameplay then it would be an issue. You aren’t doing anything important when the loading screen is present. its not that big of a deal.
Thieves aren’t good for PvE? Whaaaa? Thief will def have a place in raids. We don’t know what kind of chain events raids will have, but I bet SR will come in handy taking aggro off those trying to fill specific roles. In fact I’m sure SR and blast finishers on Smoke Screen will see a use for something different than mob skipping.
Look folks… normally I’m on your side on these types of discussions lol but to me Raiding SHOULD NOT be expansion only content. Anything that requires a group shouldn’t be. It’s exclusionary for a MYRIAD of reasons.
Your logic is flawed.
According to you, all HoT should be accessible to core players than right?? right??
I mean pfft, raids are a MAIN FEATURE to the xpac. One of the main attractions to this xpac….lets go ahead and make all the main attractions for core players than huh?
This is the way it is. If you want the new content that anet spent tons of time and resources on for free, you are going to be disappointed. Too bad if your guildies can’t shell out 50 bucks for the xpac. Their loss. Not Anets. Pony up and pay. Whining about it doesn’t help…
No… I never said that… I said Core players should have raids that do not require HoT mechanics… do you even read?
I’m curious why you think the core game deserves additional content after having been used to pay for three years of free content.
Simply put, the core game is “content complete” at this point. The buy to play model necessitates that every so often you have to buy to play additional content.
I’ve been playing for 3 years but not everyone has…
Those that didn’t play for 3 years, also most likely didn’t pay full price and picked up the game off a sale. And 90% of that content is still there to experience regardless of how long you’ve been playing.
If you give players not buying the xpac a core equivalent of its features, there would be little incentive to buy the xpac… your argument is ludicrous. It’s hard to believe this isn’t a troll post TBH. The profits gained from the xpac should only be used to give content to those that paid in. If not everyone in your guild is getting HoT, then tough luck for those that didn’t. They shouldn’t expect to get more free content funded by players that bought HoT. Core players don’t get raids, and that is completely fair.
This has to be a sarcasm post….
There is a new event launching this week. You’ll probably want to do that instead of testing the beta content an extra day.
Also it is labor day weekend… I doubt the devs want to work on labor day to monitor the beta…
The event doesn’t start til the 10th.
Wow… I’ve never experienced that before. That is certainly annoying. X_X;;;

Most players? Is there a poll or some metrics information I’ve missed?
Sigh I know right? He seems to know what most players are interested, because clearly its the same as his interests. Forget the large abundance of players that have Legedary Weapons… they didn’t do world completion or anything.
Just another case of “I don’t want to have to work to get my progression”.

Since preloading is pretty commonplace, I will assume it. So there! :p
be my guest, but if you get disapoointed, it’s on you
Preloading (headstart) is usually mentioned as one of the bonuses (it was with the original release) since there has been no word on it whatsoever, i’ not gonna expect one.
And yes it’s common with newly released games, with expansions however? not sure.Preloading and head start are 2 different things. Preloading is have everything downloaded so we don’t have to wait 4 hours to play, which i assume they will do. I mean we already have some of the content on our computers right now because of betas. Head start is getting to play early, which I don’t think they plan on doing.
Yeah, this is what I meant. I just want it all ready to go when it goes live. Not getting a head start on playing.
Since HoT releases on a Friday, would it be safe to assume that those of us that prepurchased it will preload it on the Tuesday (Oct 20th) update?
just the ability to pre download it, even if it’s not playable until the 23rd would be nice.
That’s what preloading is. Having it loaded for the day it goes live so you can instantly jump in and play. But I’m starting to agree with others about it slowing being added in piece by piece in smaller weekly updates.
Taking October 23 off from work/school?

As the saying goes; “never play on patch day”.
Anyone that takes a day off for the 23rd will likely be kicking themselves by the day’s end. It is far better to take a day off a few days down the line, say for the 25th or so after all of the major bugs have been fixed.
You do that, I’ll have a couple of mastery points to spend by that time, bugs or not. :p
If I had to guess, it would be daily like all of the other content.
The current guild mission system would like a word…
While that is currently true, I do believe that there will be daily guild activities coming with the changes to how guilds work.
This is simply too much of a time commitment for GW2’s playerbase.
Single persons trying to speak for the entirety the gw2 playerbase is getting old. It’s too much of a time commitment for you. Please leave it at that.
That being said, we have no idea how raids work. We know that they are 10 man instances and that’s it. GW2 raids probably will share similarities with other MMO raids, but I’m sure there will be plenty of differences. In fact there will probably be so many differences that traditional raiders will complain about it.
That would actually be preferable over one giant download.
Since preloading is pretty commonplace, I will assume it. So there! :p
You can’t get Fractal skins without playing fractals… some content needs its own exclusive rewards for incentive to play it… Otherwise raids would become like Triple Trouble, where no one does them except large guilds.
Legendary Armor wont have better stats that ascended armor.
You could have just posted this in that topic instead of creating another one. We really have no idea how the Raid system even works right now. Up until now there hasn’t been 10 man instances. We should probably wait and see before we bombard Anet with all these suggestions and complaints.
If I had to guess, it would be daily like all of the other content. Legendary crafting is a tedious enough as it is without a weekly time-gate.
Since HoT releases on a Friday, would it be safe to assume that those of us that prepurchased it will preload it on the Tuesday (Oct 20th) update?
From the official ANet Raid blog – "Raids will also tie into our new, advanced Mastery system of progression. "
Its hypocritical to say levels and gear are not being incresed so this means content is not being invalidated and at the same time introduce an entirely new system of progression.
Lightbringer was a single skill, masteries are much much more.
That’s a poor example you’ve quoted. Again, masteries won’t make anyone more powerful in the old content. Does it really matter if it makes people more powerful in the new content only? How does that matter for people that don’t have access to it? It doesn’t. If you don’t get HoT, you don’t get the raids you just quoted.
